T: HPE 490 USB repair / recovery stick

I have a USB system recovery/repair disk.

They seem to be more reliable and faster than the CD (less easily damaged).

I didn't get it still works.   I have a CD of resumption of work,

and I tried different recipes to make the USB drive.  I can get the

USB stick boot, but as soon as you check the language option

kick recovery system, a window appears which says that

recovery disk is not for the version of Windows you are trying

to repair.

Someone at - it had more success thereby and know what

the method of preparation on the right is?

Thanks, is mwh

You can do this easily in two stages using two free programs - RUFUS and ImgBurn.

Using ImgBurn, you create an ISO file from the disc that you created.

Then, with RUFUS, you create a USB bootable from ISO file, that you have created.

Instructions are here: https://rufus.akeo.ie/

I use these applications all the time, so I know that they are safe.

Good luck

    Cecinit, welcome to the forum.

If ever you are using an SSD, you'll never go back to a hard drive.  As you can see in my signature, I installed a Samsung 840 EVO 500 GB, SSD, in my HP computer.  I had to use an adapter to install the SSD 2.5 "in a 3.5 drive Bay".  It was an easy task with the help of Samsung Data Migration software.  I left the installed hard drive as it was when I bought the computer.  Then, connected the SSD to a spare SATA port in the computer and clone the HDD to the SSD.  Using the Samsung software made it easy, as I said.  Once the HARD drive has been cloned, I disconnected the HARD drive and started the SSD.  It worked the first time.

Regarding the replacement of the HARD disk, the maximum hard disk supported by Windows 7 is 2 TB for the boot drive.  Here's what you have to do to use a hard drive of 4 TB with Win 7: in order to use a read more than 2 TB, you will need an operating system that can partition and format this disk. Windows 7, Vista, Windows XP (64 bit), Mac OS x 10.4.x (Tiger), Mac OS x 10.5.x (Leopard), Mac OS x 10.6.x (Snow Leopard) and Mac OS x 10.7.x (Lion) all have this capability across the Table to partition GUID (GPT). The GUID partitioning scheme has the ability to score inside and outside and external hard drives far beyond 2 TB size.

  • HP 15-f018dx Notebook PC: I have hp usb media recovery - instructions

Hello. I ordered and the USB of recovery for

    HP laptop 15-f018dx.

I used it in the past to go from 10 to 8.1 Windows because I found win 10 buggy. I've recently updated again to win 10 to solve something and see if it improved and I still think it's pretty buggy. I plan to go back to 8.1 new. I had to do a reset which eliminated the roundtrip option. I always have recovery usb and can use it, but I have lost the simple instructions that accompanies it. Is there a simple guide or instuction page on how to use the usb?

Not how to order it, but how to use it. Thank you.

    Hello

Insert the USB recovery and stop of the laptop.

Click next to the ESC key as soon as you press the power button to enter the Boot Menu, and then select the Boot Options Menu ( f9 ).

Use the arrow keys to select the USB drive option and press ENTER.

  • Where can I post a problem of Aspire One AO756 USB system recovery?

Hello.  Where can I post a problem of Aspire One AO756 USB system recovery?  I had a HARD drive crash, replaced the HARD drive and bought a USB (Win 8.1) on the Acer Store system recovery disk.  The USB settles all the installation files and then said to remove the USB key, then click OK to restart.  But the bios can not find a bootable disk to complete construction. I was sent a second USB drive with the same results.  The new HDD Seagate passes each Seatools test.  In addition, I can boot from USB to the DOS or Linux and access the disk without problem. Thank you

You must use diskpart. in the windows setup program, there is an option to format the partitions manually. allows to delete all partitions, and it will automatically set the MBR or GPT disk.

    Thank you.

Start the PC and read the information on the Welcome screen.

It should tell you which key press to the start menu.

On Dell PCs it's F12 on my HP business overall it's F9 of the PC.

Otherwise, press the F10 key, go into the BIOS and change the boot menu to boot from the USB device first.

Try to remove the USB expansion card and then install again in the same dwelling and retest. If this does not help, try one of the other available PCIe slots.

If there is still no change with the issue, then this is probably the card itself that has the problem.  In this case, please use the following http://www.hp.com/contacthp, fill in the form, create a folder for your question, and then use the information to contact HP.

    Hello

The message looks like the laptop will not boot the disc.

The question is: is this a problem with the new recovery disks, or perhaps with Notepad

To be honest, I think his recovery disk problem, and maybe you will need contact the drive vendor to replace the recovery media.

    But before that, try this:
    Switch on and press F2.
Now you should be able to access the BIOS. Set the CD/DVD device in the first starting position here. Also, to clear the safe boot option from the UEFI CSM.
Now to boot from the recovery disc.

Would be interesting to know what is happening

  • HP Pavilion 14-b017cl: follow-up on creating and using the USB key recovery to win 8 after replacing the bad hard drive

I have 2 hp pavillion sleekbook model 14-b017cl'. I replaced the hard drive in my son after that she doesn't have the "optimized hard drive dst test '. I used my sleekbook work to create a USB stick recovery. I followed the instructions to use the recovery to Win 8 usb drive. When I started the laptop of my son, with the USB stick inserted, I got this message.

PXE - m0f: exit pxe rom

no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press a key

Flash player Flash when I put under tension. I rebooted, you press F2, conducted an audit on the new hard drive, happened.

Later, I inserted the recovery key in my laptop (that I used to create it) and it would not initialize to top. I checked the content to the flash drive and they seemed "Chargers", so it seems to be what I expected. It seems that the recovery USB STICK will not work if my own laptop dies. What I have to buy the HP flash drive, or I'm doing something wrong.

    Hi @gretschman7,

    Thank you for your query.

I understand you are trying to perform a recovery from a USB flash drive, but you get the error "pxe - m0f: exit pxe rom.

"no bootable device-insert bootdisk and press any".  You check the recovery media on your laptop as it is the same model and it seems fine.

Looks like you may need to change the boot sequence. Here is a link to HP - performing a recovery system (Windows 8) HP computers that will help you.   Here is a link to a YouTube video which can also help:.  Performing a recovery of HP system on a laptop HP with Windows 8.

  • How to add to my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk Usb 3.0

Hi does anyone know if I can improve my HP Pavilion Elite HPE-590uk for usb 3.0 and if so could you recommend a product that I could buy to do this.  Thanks in advance.

    One of them check it:

    http://www.overclockers.co.UK/showproduct.php?ProdID=CC-003-AK

This is to use a pci-e x 1 card. You have 2 these slots available. This will show you how do:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02255267.PDF

See the section on the replacement of a card.

Instead of plugging on the long black slot which is a video card plug into one of the slots black short. You have Windows 7 I think which means that you will need a driver, but that should come on a CD with the card. Will need you a power connector (molex) on the map, too.

Hello, I have a USB TransMemory Mx 32 Gb but I can't copy on it.

Even if I am able to remove it, I start copying files and back protection and blocking the transfer.

    Could you help me mlease?

This flash memory stick does not support special mode "write protection"...

If you are not able to write data to this device, I recommend to format the flash memory stick using the data NTFS file format.

  • Installation disk - error 0xc00000e9 Startup Repair recovery image

My problem is simple. I wanted to restore to factory settings so I followed a 'how to' guide.
I reboot and was pressed F8 to open the menu where the option "fix my pc. I select, a bar starts to fill and then it should open another menu with different catering options. But what really happens is that I get this error:

"Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.

This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device, such as a USB external drive when the appliance is used, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or the CD-ROM drive which is a failure. Make sure that all removable storage is properly connected, and then restart your computer.

If you continue to receive this error message, contact the manufacturer of the equipment.

"Info: an unexpected i/o error has occurred."

I can´t understand the error so I'll contact the manufacturer. Thx for the help.

If you are not able to run HARD drive recovery, the problem might be related to HARD disk problems.
If would like to know if its possible to retrieve the laptop using the recovery disk.
This disk should be created using recovery Toshiba disc creator software pre-installed on the notebook normally this should be done on the first day of purchase

However, if the laptop's warranty covered, get in touch with service to solve hardware problems.
