  We try to add drop-down text menu / twisties in footer of each topic so that our clients can access company, product, technical support of any subject information. To do this, the most logical is to change the master page and add content in the footer.

  I tried to create the footer drop-down content in a separate test topic and then copy and paste directly into the master page. HR removes such content from the minute I'm trying to save him, leaving only the related topics. Example of text that is deleted:

  Are there workarounds to accomplish twisties on a section of the footer of a master page without using an external .js file?

  I may try a road .jquery if I can't get HR to behave, but would like to just use the page master itself without other files.

  I finally got drop downs working inside a .hts which is then inside the .htt footer section.

  I discovered that the problems in the CSS I posted in the pictures above are attributable mainly from my own CSS problems.

  However, when I tried to add images twistie, bad new...

  Twisties are all or nothing in RoboHelp. You apply all the drop Downs or None.

  That won't work for us, since our footer is a background more dark.

  So I created my own downfall personalized stockings with jQuery and CSS.

  And they worked!

  Well well, mostly...

  Long story short: it has been a painful week and the other half, mostly spent trying to get this .hts of footer to the appearance and behavior of the way I want it too in my chm. I had to do a LOT of trial and error and additional testing to figure out something that works.

  Things I've learned:

  • Square pegs can go in the round holes with a lot of hammering and a lot of mess.
  • CHMS are old. They are not easier to work with when it comes to the use of styles. Many things are not taken in charge you can do in a normal browser.
  • Under the hood CHMS use IE 7, so you have to use CSS that matches that version.
  • You can work around some limitations that HR requires using methods and tool parts.
  • Use a repository. If you make a mistake or fall a path that you want to cancel or put on the shelf for later, you can do it easily. (I'm really happy that I did. I could come and go between my revisions and see what the code worked and which did not easily).
  • In a repository, use a test project that mimics your production project, including the folder structure, but on a much smaller scale you can do faster chm builds. (I got my footer to work Monday, but when I moved it into our real project, the footer did not work on CHMS in subfolders. So I had to build a workaround for this. I would have seen previously had I better imitated my directory structure.)
  • Don't get so sucked into approach that you neglect other tools or methods that might be simpler. (I spent a good amount of time trying to get HR drop downs working in HR footer when jQuery, once I figured how to make, provided a simpler approach.)

• Knife and scissors

  Can someone tell me how to cut a closed path. I used the knife tool and all I get is a few more points on a line connected.

  The scissors tool gives me a warning not to use nearly a point or the end of the path, neither of which I'm close.

  The slice tool is obviously not for this work.

  I thought a knife tool was supposed to cut the path?

  I just did a quick test and figured it out.

  Select your closed path.

  Press 'c' on the keyboard to switch to the SCISSORS tool. It could be * under * ERASER tool in the toolbar.

  Then hover over with her part of the way to th where you want to break or 'snip' it. Click there and actually, it adds a new endpoint to the path and 'opens' the path. If you now select this new point and move it, it may be more clear what is happening.

• Odd variance in query execution time

  I am able the time it takes to run a query. The query produces a 363 object result set from a cache of the 704 150 object. I run the query 20 times in a row and get the average and standard deviation.
  
  When I run the query directly on a cluster node, I get: = 3,605 average Min = Max = StdDev 3,845 = 0.059 3,750
  
  When I run the query from a customer to extend I get: average = 3.759 Min = Max = StdDev 13.928 7.218 = 4.721

  I have a hard time explaining why he has this great fluctuation in the results when executing on the client to extend it. Can anyone provide an overview?

  I'm sorry to say that I have any more sugestions on the variance "expand." Except for the things that I have already mentioned that I have a hard time to see how to add an additional IP-based communication protcoll would add that much variance...

  Maybe you better post a request for formal assistance on this specific issue as it may require some research?

  Finally, you may need to create a new report based on your existing model. In most of those I've been watching, the row front each parameter looks like:

  You need a model that excludes the #HIGHLIGHT_ROW # this will start by highlighting the lines with your highlight color and you lose the functionality of javascript.

  My iMac seems to be overheating (can feel the heat coming off it)... and the fans work hard constantly. I tried (unsuccessfully) to figure this on my own... but'm so over my head. Someone please guide me how to run a hardware test

  I'm not sure I understand your question exacly (English is not my native language), but I'll try to bring some light it...

  The is_parallelogram function can return the numbers 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4 to indicate: no parallelogram, parallelogram, Rhombus, rectangle and square.

  Go back 0 or 1 that you complain?

  In the application of geometry tests are performed on the values of the coordinates of the object floating points. Unfortunately, this leads to loss of precision which in turn throw off-label test (the value of floating points being the accupressure, the figure is only approximately parallel or rectangle). Perhaps what you are experiencing.

  If this is the case, an easy solution is to change the setting of case epsilon.

  To compare 2 numbers, system of computer algebra (which is the calculation behind the application of geometry engine), subtract them and test if the result is smaller (in absolute value) to epsilon. Change the default 1e-12 1e-10 Epsilon (in CASE settings, page 2: update, Page Down).

  This fix works because, to test if 2 lines are parallel, the CASE will calcualte their relative angle and then compare that angle with 0 (or 90 to perpendicular). Which will make the more lenient number comparison will make the geometry to test also more linient.

• P1102w printer: have new router and can not figure out how to print wireless at P1102w printer - he sees old router

  I installed a new router (Netgear R6220) and cannot figure out how to get the P1102w printer to recognize the new router. It shows the former name of the router (Belkin.833) on the test page and displays the IP address configured by AutoIP rather than DHCP as the old router does. The computer is a desktop Dell Dimenstion about 3 years and use Windows 7. The router connects to the computer to the Internet.

  Help - How to make the printer recognize and communicate with the new router? (The original installation instructions don't seem to work for me.)

  I made an update of the firmware a few months ago and the currtent datecode is 20130703. Allowed to print from my Samsung S2 Tablet through the router.

  Here's what finally worked.

  1 had to withdraw from old installation CD but Uninstall selected, so I completely shut down the computer. Guy at Best Buy said to "remove the device" but it was not enough.

  2. download install the latest software from the HP download site and ran it. (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32431/bi-80329-11/hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-v20120831-50157036_SMO.exe)

  3 downloaded another file and ran it. (Setup_IP4, [192_168_1_5], [NPI073E2D] _it) Not sure where I found this one, but the software prompted me to run.

  Finally, everything works and all devices are wireless printing

• SMART short self-test - on the second hard drive

  HP Pavilion Elite e9270t - 3 yrs old, Win7.

  Became the error SMART self-test short the original drive so I installed a replacement and transferred files.

  I get the same error on the second h/d. I have my doubts that the second disk is having the exact same error and wonder if the s/w test is actually the problem.

  It could very well be the connectors that gives you the question instead of the HARD drive itself. I would run the HARD drive test in BIOS instead of the short test.

  Try this:

  1. Plug the AC adapter into the computer if it is not already connected.
  2. Turn off the computer and wait five seconds.
  3. Press the power button to start the computer and repeatedly press the F10 key to enter the BIOS Setup menu.
  4. Use the right arrow or left arrow keys to navigate the menu selection to find the Auto test primary hard drive option. Depending on your BIOS, it is under diagnoses or tools.
  5. Select self-test primary hard drive, and then press the Enter key to start the test.

  The hard drive self test performs a Quick Test , followed by a complete Test. During each test, the window displays a status bar and a scheduled for completion

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to figure out where in the SequentialModel.seq file I can pull the "main sequence duration Test total" when running in mode 'Test DUT' or 'Single Pass '.  In what subsequence find the "total duration of the Test" for a single pass?  Is there a variable with this information?

  A couple of options here.  You can override the recall of test report and get it using Parameters.MainSequenceResults.TS.TotalTime.  NOTE: the test reminder report will only work if you use NO reports on the fly.

  If you want to make the PostUUT you could do Caller.Locals.ResultList [0]. TS. TotalTime.  [RunState.Root.Locals.ResultList or [0].] TS. TotalTestTime.  Be careful using expressions like these.  If something else that model happens to trigger this reminder you may not these variables in there.  Both the appellant that RunState.Root should give you the frame of the sequence for sequences of Test DUT or Single Pass.

• Why the total time required for the test sequence is different during the test runs

  -J' have different test resources to test our product which includes engines and the NOR-Box (6351).

  -Number of test files in sequence that are called during the test (ca. 20)

  -The problem is that when I run these test sequence files separate (say only 3 out of 20), total time by these tests are t1, t2 and t3, but when - I left all 20 tests to run without jumping all the time needed by the 3 tests above is t1 + 60 s, t2 + 80 s and t3 + 50sec. Why it is so and how can I avoid this problem.

  -The tests are motors to move, take samples or box then save them on my computer after testing the limits. Since they are time critical, when I do all the running tests in a test go a lot do not PASS. I can't run them separately because it takes more time, more interference by user and also more than one report that is not desired.

  -J' tried unloading after execution steps, but it did not help.

  This probably depends on that made your sequence. Have you tried shrink where extra time is being spent? You can time how long different parts of your sequence are following the steps of the expression as follows:

  Locals.StartTime = Seconds()

  Locals.ElapsedTime = Seconds() - Locals.starttime

  You can also watch time module in your reports. There is nothing specific on TestStand that should cause some sort of slow down like this. I recommend trying to figure out where the extra time is being spent. I suspect once you do, the cause will become obvious.

  I use LabVIEW as the custom interface.

  In VBAI, I use "Update of Inspection" to send the data of length to LV

  How can I check in vi, that this figure is "NaN? This will happen when the line is not found.

  I tried to use ' NaN/path/RefNum"of the LV, but it simply doesn't.

  Help please...

  I don't know how you test this. I tried it and it works fine. Make sure the update of Inspection stage has the flag to 'Run the VI after update of the indicators'.

  Hey guys, I'm relatively new to labview and currently trying to make a multi snake like robot scene. I was interfacing with Controllers USB pololu and the need to manually control the first step and I have the remaining steps to follow, I have the first stage, using the controls on the front panel. I use a model of consumption of the producer and have pushed the button Activate an event and then queued a case in a second "loop of material."

  my current problem is now I want to start working on the control of the secondary step passively, so I want to move the front of the stage tilted upward and then start rolling on before and the second stage begins to follow in the same position. I want to interrupt regularly and check the positions on the servos to compare and to act accordingly. My first thought is to interrupt the timeout in the case where structure and test if the servos are in the same position. the problem is that my visa reference is in the other loop.

  What would be the best way to go about this? should I just queued in my gear loop on a time out and then test the position of the servo. or is there a way to share my visa resources in the loop of the producer? I originally wanted to store the reference in the loop of producer and pass whenever I went to the consumer loop but I couldn't figure a way to return the updated reference and I kept getting errors.

  call loops are an option here? any advice would be helpful. even if you have a better structure to redo the entire project. I'd love to hear it for next time if nothing else. also if theres a better void / forum bad gladly move the pole.

  1. I aim to convey information/data to the loop of the reactor of the user interface.  Leave the loop creator UI just intercept the events of GUI and send jobs to the reactor loop.  You can create more brains to the reactor loop and let it also receive the strap of material information/work.

  2. a simple concept for a regular position servo application would be an additional loop.  It's the only work is have a wait timer, then queue on demand to the loop material to ask him to send the position of the servo.  It will send to the loop of the reactor, as always, and the loop of the reactor will have built to react appropriately when it gets the position of servo information.

  3. I would not speak for the servos in any other place that the loop of material.  There are all kinds of mess if you can send orders series of different loops at the same time, can receive the answer poorly or not at all.

  Sorry, don't have time to go into details, but hope this helps a little, when you think about the implementation of the app.

  4 P.S.  I also wanted to talk about: it seems that both your reactor and Hardware loop are consumers of the same queue.  Although I see not how did you preview first and then queue only if necessary, he is still not a recommended approach.  Consider: If a loop is blocked when one of his messages is in the front of the queue, it will make the other loop stuck too.
