T30 memory

I've been checking for memory for my T30 autour and found this one. w/discount $25, but want to be sure that it is the memory of good quality (and the right). Is that what I need? Any opinions on the quality?

Thank you.

  • Temperature and loss of the T30 memory bank

    Background

I recently had a failure of the cooling fan in my T30.  The machine probably ran and hour or two without supervision before the failure was discovered and the computer turns off.  The fan has been repaired, re-installed and works very well.  In the process, I installed TPFanControl and acquired a knowledge of the temperatures in the system.  I am currently trying the T30 BIOS or intelligent control fan.  The times seem to have an acceptable margin anyway.

    The problem

I installed 2 x 512 MB of RAM in March.  Memory showed only 1 GB and worked well.

Shortly after the repair of fan, I noticed that my machine has apparently suffered the infamous Bank of MEMORY loss.

I am inclined to think that the Bank was induced by the temperature.

Another piece of information General, probably unrelated, is that I have lost and replaced my original HDD a month before the fan has failed.  Replacement and installation of the operating system was smooth.  I have had no opportunity to watch RAM at this time, so I can't say with certainty, that it's still OK then.  I can't see how this is relevant, but it would not let to the.

    Bottom Line

I strongly suggest the users to install TPFanControl.  Monitor time to all less and even better control the fan with a reasonable set of limits compatible with your type of operation.  It can save you a card failure.

Now I have to figure out what to do.  Someone at - he found a single 1 GB stick that would work on one side?

Replacement motherboard is not financially attractive.  If I have to, I'll live with 512 MB.

PS I installed RightMark too.  Works well for my type of use.  Nice little program.

Any laptop PC2100/2700 stick of 1 GB RAM will work, no problem.

You can also search for a company called Hammerhead Technologies, they offer repair RAM slot.

    Good luck.

  • DDR Max per slot allowed for type T30 2366?

One of my two RAM slots of my older T30 burned, if I want to install a 1 GB of memory in the remaining slot. Is this allowed? I found contraversing arguments in the web. What type of exact RAM is allowed (for the time being, I have two 512 MB DDR333 Cl2.5)
    Thank you

  • RAM has worked in a T30 but not another

    I have 2 sticks of 1 GB of RAM: DDR 333, FDMHGO - 04032T

This RAM worked well in a portable T30 2366-85U

I put the same RAM in a laptop of 2366-KU1 T30 and it does not - in a memory slot. The BIOS is 1IET71WW (2.10) 16/06/2006, which I think is the latest BIOS for this laptop. 2366-85U cell phone no longer works, I dropped something on the keyboard and who killed the laptop, so I can't check for the version of the BIOS.

Is there something I can do to get two sticks of 1 GB of RAM in the laptop 2366-KU1?

You are not sure if the RAM may be damaged, but could it have been damaged when the other laptop is dead?

The contacts on the RAM were dirty. I cleaned the with an eraser and the T30 see now the 2 GB of RAM.

  • T30 correct fan operation?

The fan in my T30 suddenly began to make noise.  I deleted and found that the Assembly of the stator, which is pressed into the aluminum case, loosen up.  I stuck it in uisng Loctite 603 (available from McMaster Carr) and held it correctly.  I applied 5 VDC to the red and black wires and the fan worked fine on the bench.  It has attracted about 300 ma, which is consistent with the label on the fan.

I reinstalled the fan with thermal grease on the CPU.  At the start, the fan runs for a very short period and then turns off.   I think remember me the fan runs all the time at a low level and sometimes goes 'enc' when the computer was hot.  My memory is the problem?  The fan turns on only at high temperatures of CPU?  I don't get any messages "fan error".  I haven't run the laptop for a long time see if the fan turns on for fear of causing damage.  Words of wisdom?

    TIA,

    Dan

then the fan would work only at certain temperature envelopes. To test your fan, download the TPfancontrol and the fan with different levels of test in manual mode, it should check if your fan is in good nicknames.

  • Blue screen and bad RAM memory?

My MBP 2011 early all just stopped working yesterday, it worked very well without any problem of performance for the last 5 years, and then suddenly a blue screen (of death) and it has problems starting.

He will ring the Bell to start, display the bar loading and Apple, and then there will be a glitch on the big screen (horizontally) 1 inch above the Apple, after that, the fans speed up and all that I see a gray screen, not user interface.

I zapped the PRAM/MSC and tried the unique memory sticks, I have no spare RAM on hand, but who will order soon.

last possible system on Mac Mini 1.93 GHz Intel Core 2 GB memory?

My system works very well except for Safari and Firefox, which NOW have updated versions.  What is the solution? I use Snow Leopard and latest Firefox since it's 48.0.2 and Safari's 5.1.10 that I can no longer use to access certain web pages

The official list of Mac compatible with macOS Sierra:

What are the requirements for Sierra.

Towards the end of 2009 or later

    • MacBook
    • iMac

    2010 or later

    • MacBook Air
    • MacBook Pro
    • Mini Mac
    • Mac Pro

If you do not meet the above, but respect what follows, then you can upgrade to El Capitan.

    Upgrade to El Capitan

You can pass the Lion El Capitan or directly from Snow Leopard. El Capitan can be downloaded for FREE from the Mac App Store.

To upgrade to El Capitan, you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or installed Lion. Download El Capitan from the App Store. Sign in with your Apple ID. El Capitan is free. The file is big enough, more than 5 GB, allow it some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Mac that can be upgraded to OS X El Capitan

1 iMac (mid-2007 or newer) - model identifier 7.1 or later

2 MacBook (late 2008 or early 2009 or newer aluminium) - model identifier 5.1 or later

    3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

4 MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)- model identifier 2.1 or later

5 mac mini (early 2009 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

6 mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)- model identifier 3.1 or later version

7 Xserve (early 2009) - model identifier 3.1 or later version

To find the identifier of the model open system information in the Utilities folder. It is displayed in the Panel on the right.

    Upgrade to Lion

If your computer does not meet requirements to install the above, it can still meet the specifications to install Lion.

You can buy Lion to the Apple store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus taxes.  It's a download. You will receive an email with a redemption code that you then use on the Mac App Store for download Lion. Save a copy of this installer to your download folder because Setup deletes itself at the end of the installation.

    Lion system requirements

1 mac with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,

    or Xeon processor

    2. 2 GB of memory

    3 OS X 10.6.6 or later (10.6.8) recommended

    4. 7 GB of available space

  • Why must the Finder 10.12 more physical memory

    Hello

I use the preview mode icons in the Finder feature to pre-select one or more images for later use in documents. The pre-selection spans more than 30-40 records, each a few images from 80 to 120. At the beginning just after the start of system-Finder takes about MB, 45-47. Working through records about 20 this is increased to a muscular 1.78 GB. Which is not a problem at the moment because I have 20 GB of available, but I was wondering why the Finder is the hungry.  And also, this increase in the number of forever with the number of records, I'm working through?

The only way I can "free" memory to baseline is to force quit viewfinder, but there must be a more elegant method.

Anyone know this method? Thanks in advance.

    Hans

Finder, as the system and other applications, will use unused memory in the file cache. It uses more memory, but it does not use what is available and who otherwise would be wasted. If something else needs memory, cache memory is reduced. There is no need to keep 'liberation' memory. The system will take care of him for you (that's why all apps free memory are unnecessary placebos that actually reduce performance).

  • "Your system is running out of Application memory"

    Hello

Since last week I have been having a problem where my computer screen appears with a reading of the question 'your system has sold out of the memory of the application.' This happens around every 20-30 minutes to use my computer, where the issue is resolved by restarting my computer. However, this message appears when I have 1 or 2 applications open (including the permanent Finder application). At my computer without a doubt a lot of memory left and I installed only 5 additional applications: League of Legends, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook. I used OS X El Capitan for the first half of the week and macOS Sierra for the second half, but the upgrade did not solve my problem.

    I run:

MacBook Air (13 inch, mid 2013)

1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor

    DDR3 4 GB 1600 MHz memory

    Start drive Macintosh HD

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

Your system is running out of RAM, not disk space. 4 GB is the absolute minimum of RAM. Try to remove all unnecessary startup items (Preferences > users and groups > you > login items) with the key less (not simply uncheck the boxes - which hide just the app but it still works).

You can also run activity monitor (Applications > utilities) to see what is using the memory.

How to define and measure the use of memory for Firefox? Activity monitor? I use Firefox to write this. In the activity monitor, I see Firefox to 347 MB and Firefox Web Content to 259 MB.

  • Purgeable memory

I had just recently purgeable memory appear in my closet for my Macbook pro under OS Sierra 2015. What is this memory for and where it comes from?

Purgeable disk memory is disk with files stored in it. The most frequent creator of them is "snapshot backups" created during your regular backup drive is not available.

Purgeable means they will be deleted immediately if another Application requires you to file that isn't otherwise available space.
