T400 2768 WWAN?

Hello

Can someone please confirm that there is NO WWAN device on my T400.

From here you can see the full list of devices (output devmanmview.exe /stext 400 txt):

See you soon,.

Do not see. The best way to confirm must take off your keyboard. The WWAN is just under the keyboard, close left Ctrl, Alt pressed.

  • The T400 2768 L 35 WWAN is ready?

Hi, I bought a T400 2768 L 35 (impossible to find this serial number in the standard list, but that's what it says on the bottom plate of my laptop) my university IT shop a couple of years. I have a 3G compatible SIM card and I would use it on my laptop to surf the net. I found SIM card but did not see any WWAN card in Device Manager. Is there a way I can go online via WWAN? Or am I doomed to rely on wifi

    Welcome to the community.

as long as it has not changed, this is the hardware configuration for your machine:

    ThinkPad T400 (2768-L35): T9600(2.8GHz), 4 GB of RAM, HD 500 GB at 5400 RPM, LCD 14.1 in 1280 x 800, 256 MB ATI Radeon HD3470, CD-RW/DVD-RW, Intel 802.11agn, option WWAN, Bluetooth, Modem, 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure Chip, reader of fingerprints, camera, 4 c Li-ion, Win7 Pro 32

the key word above is option. because you do not see a device WWAN in DM, you have probably no card installed. you mention you location SIM, then you probably also have the WWAN antenna, but for sure, you can check if you are comfortable pulling the palmrest and keyboard. Please see the hardware maintenance manual here:

    http://download.Lenovo.com/pccbbs/mobiles_pdf/43y6629_04.PDF / pg100-101.

If you find the sons of antennas not connected, all you need is a proper map and drivers. the important thing to consider is that the card must be on the BIOS 'white list' trusted network devices. If you scroll down to pg150 of the HMM, you will see the map in the exploded views as ex. No. 25. scroll further down to pgs273-275 who see there are 3 cards listed with their #s FRU. While you are looking to buy, be sure to get a genuine FRU role, rather than a generic/universal model.

Finally, you can get the driver of the pilot matrix, here:

    HTH a little.

  • T400 6474 WWAN Ready?

    Hello.

I have a T400 6474-AV5.  I want to know if she's ready WWAN, or if I should gain no additional element to enable this feature.

    Thanks in advance.

Hi nmistre and welcome to the Lenovo user community!

There are a few resources that will give you the detailed configuration of a standard configuration of the ThinkPad. The Tabuk personal systems reference has more detailed information. You can also punch in the number of the product on the Support site & downloads of Lenovo.

What do you mean by WWAN ready?

Lenovo world, a system has either WWAN, or is it "Scalable WWAN" (the air: you can add the WWAN card later), or there is no WWAN hardware.

    I hope this helps.

  • ThinkPad T400 WiMAX mystery!

I can see in the BIOS there is a WiMAX listed adapter (this is the ThinkPad T400 (2768-AD3)) and on the Lenovo support page / drivers section for the same exact model list: Intel WiMAX 6250 AGN and Intel Wireless 5150 WiMAX, but during the installation of the people, it is said:... .no WiMAX adapter was detected on your computer. It is possible to proceed with the installation, but nothing happens. So I'm a little confused here, she actually WiMAX adapter or does not?

Some machines shipped with WiMax / it's a snap accessory optional - just like webcam, fingerprint reader, etc. It's just like having the owner of the car of the manual. Even if you have purchased only the base model with a tape recorder there could be instructions for a CD player, CD changer, navigation system.

  • T400 battery

    I have a thinkpad t400 2768 type.

    It comes with a 14, 4V, 2.27Ah battery.

I have another battery 9 cells which corresponds to my laptop. However it has a lower nominal voltage of 10.8V and more Oh pf 7800 mah. I know that the different ah ratings are probably due to the number of different cells. I am worried however if issues of voltage difference.

Can I use the battery 9 cells?

    Thank you.

the 9-cell battery on the T400 is suppose to have 10.8 volts, which is normal.

  • Switch from Windows 7 to XP Pro

    Hello

I have a T400 where there are 2 installed on hard drive with XP Pro installed and one with Windows 7 32 bit installed. If I restart after running XP Pro for Win 7, I have no problem with the ATI program, but if I do inversion, it will load XP Pro up to without ATI (telling me that there is a problem with the ATI program or missing driver). The screen looks faded... But if I restart again from XP Pro to XP Pro there is no problem... (((someone has the same problem and a solution?

    Type T400 2768 - 12G

I have tried what you're doing, but here's my proposal.  Go to the BIOS, turn off switchable graphics and OS detection.  Select the chart.   Start each OS (maybe twice).

Of course you'll switchable capacity 7.  XP does not support in any case. Or does not the last time I looked.

  • Impossible to get ericsson WWAN to put under Windows 7 on T400

Just upgraded my T400 to Windows 7 from Vista.  All right, except that I can't get my WAN radio to power.  Downloaded the new driver of power, but still not put it to work, also installed last access links worm. 5, no joy.  Any help appreciated.

Solution, in the end, was to remove the dial-up connections and just use Windows wireless network manager.

Have the slot for SIM card does not mean you have a 3G modem card inserted in the WWAN card reader.

This simply means that your willing T400 of needed resources such as antenna & slot to be upgraded to be 3G equipped.

You will need to purchase a compatible 3G modem card to make your T400 laptop 3G enabled.

Consult the maintenance manual for a list of approved 3G modem cards. There should be an empty slot on the motherboard for the 3G modem & antenna to fix on the 3G card.

  • WWAN Option (43R9153): Installation, WLAN

I bought the WWAN option for my T400 (2765 - 22G). Now I'm confused and have two questions:

-When I install the WWAN option, I need to remove the already installed module. It seems to be the WLAN module.

I lost the WLAN connectivity? Or the WWAN also includes WLAN?

-The installed module has 3 connectors, left, middle, right.

But the WWAN option has only two connectors. What happens with the third wire (gray)?

    Thank you

    Eric

    Eric, welcome to the forum,

I'm not sure you are looking in the right place. The wlan card is towards the back of your system and nees cables of 3 antennas. The wan cardshould be installed on the left side below meets the palmrest and keyboard. There is a free slot and two cables if your system is extensible. See the installation / removal instructions.

    Hope this helps

  • Lead time for the T400 Vista SP2 x 64 and hangs on reboot

    Hello

I searched the forums, but couldn't find the same problem. It looks more like a problem with the OS.

The problem is with T400 (description of model in the background) running Vista Ultimate x 64 SP2. I get huge delay before booting from the HARD disk (3-10 minutes). This happens just after the post, when it comes to a black silicone screen with the flashing line in the upper left corner, before the loading Vista appears. HARD drive may be the only boot device in the boot order, it is not serious.

Another problem that happens on every reboot. Windows stops, goes to black screen and hangs there. I can't POST in this case. I can only-hard restart, after that, I get same start-up time huge, before the options of windows to Safe Mode shows, etc. due to improper closing (or automatically the normal startup).

I ran all the tests of PC Doctor, the material is ok. I have updated to the latest version of the BIOS, HARD drive and firmware ODD and all the new drivers. All the patches to vista on lenovo download page appear to be part of SP2 now, because all say, they cannot be applied to the system.

I don't want to run XP or Vista x 86, since I hold the RAM to be used at full capacity.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    ThinkPad T400 6474-AU5 / base 6474-1AG: T9500, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB 7200 RPM HD, Intel X4500HD, CD-RW/DVD-RW, Intel 802.11agn wireless, Bluetooth, Modem, 1 Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, WWAN extensible, secure chip, RPF, 6 c Li-ion

I had the same problem mentioned in the other thread you posted. I had to send mine and get the motherboard replaced.

1 remove the hard drive from the laptop

    2. start until this stops at a few guests

    3. press on Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart the portable computer

If it stalls / freezes on one screen empty and does not restart then it isn't a Windows Vista problem, because the hard drive is not there, but a hardware problem which you would have to return it and get fixed.

If it restarts right away then try to format and reinstall Vista.

  • WWAN READY?

Hi, I just buy a new set of type 64731 3 model T400 * from a Lenovo reseller, after I bught (as to suggest) a modem internal high-speed 3 G for Vodafone (which they have already mounted in other T400)

My computer do not recognize new hardware!

Dealer do not know why, they me that defected may the motherboard. As the T400 is still under warranty I can ask them to change, but read in this forum, I think that's not the problem.

Someone can explain me if my T400 can mount this modem?

Moderator edit: Masked serial number for the protection of the Member.

I'd install driver Lenovo system interface first, then ACPI Power Management, then the keys, but I'm not sure if it's important.

Your new T400 will have a version of this software pre installed. The WWAN card "should" be detected when it is installed. When it is not, the first thing to do is to ensure that the drivers are properly installed and up-to-date.

If the drivers are installed and the WWAN card is inserted correctly, and it still does not work, you probably have a hardware problem that will be fixed under warranty.

Yes, your system is expandable WWAN. The red and blue threads indicate that your program already installed in the cover.

And finally, just checkin : The Wireless radio switch on the front of the T400 is in position, correct?

  • No WWAN antena

    Hi all

I recently bought a new laptop T400 (number 2765 - 51G of the product). According to the lenovo page, this notebook is upgradable WWAN. I have SIM card built-in player, free PCIe slot for WWAN card, but I don't have antena cables (red and blue). I wasn't able to find the good email contact for the support of the Slovakia, so I give a first shot here. I don't know what to do now. I want to put a WWAN connection for the operator of mobile and finally in three months, it is both a duty to solve this problem. Card PCI-express 3 G modem is not solution, in this niche will soon be a smart card reader.

  • T400 Locked to Vodafone?

    Hello

I work for a company that uses Lenovo for all our laptops and we just took delivery of 3 new T400 2765 - 21G Type.

These units have a Vodafone SIM and a trial for 30 days to technology mobile broadband (3G, GPRS) Vodafone.

Our company uses T - Mobile UK for all of the company's phones and USB 3 G dongles.

I replaced the Vodafone SIM card with my T-Mobile SIM card and when I open the Mobile Broadband Connect software I get the message

Your operator is currently not supported. For more information, please contact your carrier.

Is it just a case that I need to get my carrier to activate the service that requires the laptop? Or are the T400 is locked to Vodafone?

I have also contacted our rep at T-Mobile so will post it respond.

    grahambird80, welcome to the forum,

    they are not locked provider.

The best way to set up a connection is to make a profile in the dial-up connections. Choose WWAN as the connection type, and then set up a user defined connection. Here in Germany, T-Mobile user name is "t-mobile", the PW is the same and the AFN is internet.t - mobile.

You will need to turn first WWAN, (Fn + F5). If you can not turn reinstall the C:\SWTOOLS\DRIVERS\WWANER drivers

Expected if all goes well do the trick.
