T400 died after BIOS flash

Windows (7 x 64), I tried to update the BIOS.

He treated and after that it restarted to close unexpectedly.

Now, after turning on the laptop it beeps twice and that's it.

Nothing appears on the screen.

Tried to download the bootable BIOS flash CD, but unable to start than at the Lair of the BIOS.

I guarantee, but I think I have to send the machine in another country (im in Hungary) for weeks, I ask so as there may be a solution for this... but I 'google' for hours on the subject.

Thanks in advance.

Hi cbodis,

I'm sorry to hear the BIOS update failed, but I think that your only option in this case is the service. I'm sure that there are no other choice to fix it on your own if the BIOS is damaged after a failed BIOS updated.

Are you sure you want to send the computer to another country? I'm sure that the computer can be fixed in Hungary. They will probably replace just the motherboard. You can call the following number and ask about the warranty/service: 36-1-382-5500

As for the future, I recommend that you update the BIOS by downloading the ISO image, burn the image and boot from the CD to update instead of Windows Update. I know this will not solve the problem, but I've heard more issued after only an update of Windows over the use of the ISO so maybe a good idea for the future.

  • I get BSOD after Bios flash, can connect in safe mode.

    Hi all

I use a laptop HP DV3145 DX, OS is win 7 Home Basic (it came with the laptop).

A few days ago my screen started to behave erratically. The lower part of the screen is blurred and was unreadable. So I have updated Bios with the HP support assistant.

After I flashed the bios, I could connect to windows, but every time I log on to the windows it crashed (BSOD) after 30 to 60 seconds.

I could connect to the computer in safe mode

    That's what I did

    1. connected in safe mode and disabled all startup program (used Msconfig), with the exception of microsoft. This did not help.

2 activated the player HP_tools disk management and I see the Bios, Bios_new file is there.

Now, what should be my next step? I want to factory reset as my last option, I have a lot of settings, digital certificates, backups of phone in this machine, those who are important to my work.

I think to Flash the Bios to the previous version to see if that helps. Now, I don't consider myself a very experienced user. So if anyone can tell me how to Flash the bios to the older version, I'll be grateful.

I would also like to hear any other suggestions, others may have.

    * PS: I can't update windows drivers (I've updated about a month ago), because the 3 G dongle that I use is not having recognized in safe mode.

    Thanks in advance,

    Magassa

You should not have flashed the BIOS. Updating the BIOS is not a magic solution to all the problems. You must perform as the first response to a problem with your laptop because it adds an element of risk.

You should use the diagnoses instead. Press the power button and immediately press the ESC key. In the start menu, choose to press the F2 key to invoke diagnostics. Perform a system test, a test of memory, a hard drive test and a test video.  Let us know what are the results of the diagnostic test. The image is a more recent version that is installed on the hard drive of your laptop, but is still pretty similar.

  • Vista does not start after BIOS flash

I recently flashed my BIOS for my Presario SR5152NX by Vista after having downloaded the file directly following from the HP site:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=PV-66758-1&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=3436821&OS=2093&lang=en

He seemed fine, because he then asked me to restart my PC, I did.

When it restarts, BIOS seems to be fine but once, he's trying to get into windows Vista, it will NOT start, and instead, I get a BSOD with the following STOP error message:

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF789E640, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)

I tried searching for this error, but I do not get a clear answer to what it means.

In addition, by choosing 'use last known Configuration' always produces the error, and I can't get in any security mode in the start menu.

I can't enter in Vista, please help.

I have solved my problem, but please keep this up for the other reference...

It turns out that the error has to do with a "BOOT DEVICE" error. Once I read that I feared it might be a faulty drive. This was not the case.

It seems that after the BIOS has been flashed, he changed the order of loading on my readers, and so it hurts than as a master. I guess expected Vista are on it and wrong. What I had to do was go in the motherboard configuration by pressing F10 on the diagnostic screen, and I had to spend my disk drive to configure the Vista disc as the main (has priority on the others), using the + and - keys on the numeric keypad.

EUREKA, now charge well Vista again and the BIOS is updated correctly.

  • Combination of keys start crisis of victory for Satellite L850 - 1 k 0 - no boot after BIOS FLASH

    Hello!
Someonw does know which key boot combination work for the L850 - 1 k 0?
I flashed a modded bios that works first, then the settings changed for the graphics card, stop and here's the laptop with black screen (to the external monitor VGA or HDMI).

Now I try to reflash original BIOS (6.8 InsydeH20) with wincrisis (which should boot from usb, which would be indicated by the led flashing on the usb port), but there are certain key combinations that is held over the power that differ: I tried with the ones I found Googling for similar models, Fn + Esc Fn + Esc, Windows + F, Windows + B, Fn + B - but nothing has worked, no activity to usb.

If someone know the combination of work as this model L850 - 1 k 0?
I have not found something looking for it online!

    Help would be very appreciated!

    Thank you!
    Timmtomm

    Hi TIMMTOMM,

Were you able to start the original bios?
My Toshiba l850-1w9 PSKDNE is the same as yours, (only difference drive HARD and OS), I did not start a bios from USB and I do not know the combinations for her but there is an article about how to start the bios modded on the net, but I don't think they will be posted here. Simply search for bios modded to the l850 and leave aside the 1 k 0.

And just a quick guess you did install a modded bios to activate the video card integrated CPU, so you can use it to Miracast, or something like?

  • OptiPlex 990 no boot after BIOS flash

I have an OptiPlex 990 that several problems after a power surge, so I replaced the power supply, motherboard and installed a new hard drive. Once I had everything back together, I booted the system and tried to upgrade to the latest version of the BIOS, A19.

The guest said that he would replace X 17 with A19.  During this process, an error prompted me A05 must be installed first. I have done this and received a "Bios Update Successful" message. but the PC does not restart. After having playing with removal of the cards it is not POST, just restarts a few times then crashes. I can get it to start by clearing the CMOS by removing the battery, but once I leave the configuration or trying to run diagnostics or boot from a disk of BONE, the machine just restarts and crashes with the numbers 2, 3 and 4 illuminated by a blue LED power.

Any ideas as to what I can try running to call it dead as well and get an another motherboard?

    Thank you

Dell made revisions of boards for the same model, if the parts are no longer available, if they find or fix a problem, etc. Dell will only know for sure the real differences between these two boards.

Have you checked your USB devices?

What happens if you start from a bootable CD/DVD as your Windows Dell reinstall drive?

The replacement card came with a guarantee? You could go back to the seller and ask for a replacement or a refund...

  • Behavior of cooling after only the BIOS Flash - Satellite Pro A300

    Hello everyone,

I have two laptop computers, Satellite Pro A300 Satellite A300. Both have the same configuration, C2D E8300 2 GB, ATI 3650 512 MB and so on...

Today I flashed BIOS to the latest version (from V3.90 to V4.20) on both of them. Version 3.90 cooling was OK, fan worked only when it was necessary. But now after that flashing the BIOS fan runs constantly, he does not stop.

What I did in Vista under Toshiba Power Saver Power Options, I changed the cooling method of maximum Performance to optimised battery, reverse cooling operation, but coverage (keyboard area) has become a bit warmer.

My question is, what is the problem with cooling in the new version (v4.20)? And how to fix this?
Yet once again, the problem did not exist before flashing the BIOS and the problem is on both computers.

Thank you very much for your help!

    Best regards
    Osman

    > What I did in Vista under Toshiba Power Saver Power Options, I changed the cooling method of maximum Performance to optimised battery, reverse cooling operation, but coverage (keyboard area) has become a bit warmer.

I doubt that there could be something wrong, I want to say that you said that after changing the method in cooling Toshiba Power Saver, the fans don't run all the time
Usually the cooling modules are controlled by energy savings and the BIOS contains only the table fan.

Keyboard of my laptop or on the left side of the laptop becomes too hot because on this side, you find the cooling modules that blow hot air

I had recently changed the OS of my HP Pavilion dm4t-2000 for Windows 8. After that an update of the BIOS flash me suggested by HP Support Assistant, speakers have stopped working. I tried to reinstall the Audio Codec, but it does not work. Could someone help me please?

    jaikvk,

Go into Device Manager and uninstall the sound and restart the computer. This will reinstall the driver once more.

Also, it could be a bad installation of the BIOS; You can go to HP.com and re download the update of the BIOS.

    SORRY FOR MY POOR EANGLISH

    Hello

It s a shame hear that mate!
It seems that something was wrong during the update of the BIOS, and so the laptop won't turn on.
I'm afraid that you can't do anything else as to contact the local ASP m!

The local ASP technician must check the device and possibly it might update the BIOS using a special BIOS and the special procedure.

    Good luck buddy

  • Satellite M30X-111 died after about 15 sec after power to the top

    Hello
My M30X 111 died after about 15 sec after power upward. The blue light comes on, the fan starts and then turns off & the dies machine - however, the blue switch remains on. Then I have to keep the power button up to swith off the machine.

I can't go as far as the BIOS and it does not start from CD, etc.

    Thanks in anticipation,

    Hello

The laptop goes to home Toshiba screen?
If yes there is no hardware malfunction but perhaps something wrong with the software.

You suggested that it of not possible to enter the BIOS. How have you tried to get into the BIOS?
As far as I know, this unit uses a Phoenix BIOS so you must press the F2 key immediately after switching on. Press the "F2" key several times to make sure that the option has been enabled.

The alternative to boot from the CD/DVD drive is using the C key. The same procedure here: press the C key immediately after starting the laptop.
(the CD must be inserted before you start)

  • Satellite A60-106: Question about updating the BIOS and the BIOS Flash

Fact the BIOS Flash update the BIOS or that requires a different file. I've updated a Satellite A60 BIOS to 1.9 but am not sure if cela flashed the BIOS as well.

If this isn't the case, where I could get a file to Flash BIOS for satellite A60-106?

    Hello

Sorry, but you question is a bit confusing.
The update of the BIOS flashing the ROM module I put t know which version is installed before upgrading the BIOS, but if after the upgrade, a new version of the BIOS appears then the procedure was a success.

The good BIOS and how to upgrade the BIOS information you will find on the page of Toshiba.
