T400 - Fn key wake computer from sleep mode.

It is therefore normal that pressing the Fn key + another key (on the keyboard) - computer wakes from sleep?

Or something wrong with the operating system?

In fact, the single Fn key should wake up the machine to sleep/wake.

Nothing wrong with the operating system.

Kind regards.

  • MacBook pro freezes for 5-10 minutes everytime I wake up from sleep mode?

Since the upgrade to Yosemite, my macbook pro goes to the loading screen grey which usually appears when opening my laptop after that he almost dies everytime I wake up from sleep mode. It freezes on this screen for a few moments, and then when I get to my normal screen, it continues to remain frozen for an extra few minutes. The mouse will not work until a "Set up Bluetooth keyboard" menu appears, then disappears. The problem has persisted through several software updates. I searched endless forums and topics, but none seem to match my problem. Can anyone help?

laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

    Here's the quickfix.

Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

    1. go in Classic view of Control Panel. (Ctrl + ESC, then type 'control' to quickly control panel access)

    2. double-click on the icon power options

    3. click on "change when the computer sleeps.

    4. click on "change power avancΘs."

Go to the menu of sleep and

    value "Allow hybrid sleep": OFF

    * Set the parameter "Hibernate after": NEVER

Note: You need to type the following in the field, what is not there drop down to select.

This is most likely the issue and the resolution. However, here are a few other troubleshooting steps if you have any questions:

  • What happens when Task Scheduler is scheduled to wake the computer from sleep mode

I have the windows vista Task Scheduler to wake the computer from sleep to run a command script. some tasks in the script work correctly and some do not. This is because the computer is "awake from sleep", whatever that means. This is not what is happening, because the tasks that the batch script runs when the computer is actually on, with display and all are very different tasks, it runs while the computer gets "awakened from his sleep", so what happens exactly when the task schedler wakes up the computer of mode sleep under vista? How is it possible to emulate a real awake state with the Task Scheduler to a State of sleep, according to a schedule?

  • May not wake my computer from sleep mode

    Hello!

My computer wake from sleep very well. I stopped to do for awhile; then when I went to do it again, it wouldn't work. I don't know if this problem started; Therefore, I can't really do a restore on any given day.

When I move the mouse or press the space bar, the computer seems to wake up from sleep - everything seems to work fine (fans, lights, etc...) -only the screen goes black and says he'll sleep because there is no entry for the computer. I push the button to turn off the computer completely the computer. When it restarts and I check for any problem in the event viewer, I can't find anything that might have caused this to happen.

Here are the things I've tried so far...
    * I am logged - in as administrator of the computer
    * Checked with HP for the BIOS update - I've already been updated later on their Web site.
    * Using various Vista Web site tutorials, I played a bit with Windows power management settings (hibernate, sleep, hybrid, etc...).
    * Look for updates of video card - I already have the updated version.
    * Changed my Avast AV to moy.
    * Uninstalled AVG completely
    * Performed SCANNOW several times the last two weeks - no issue reported
    * A tried to generate a system health report, but I am not able to - see another question that I posted today.

I've seen suggestions on remove the BIOS battery or reset the BIOS to its default settings, but I did not feel brave enough to do all of this - not found reassuring advice that will not destroy my particular computer: o) I went into the BIOS to have a look at the power management settings , but there was something I could do with them - absolutely nothing on the standby or Hibernate mode or whatever it is.

THANK YOU for any help! I really appreciate it!
    Sincerely,
    Jenny

    Sure!
You should be able to go to the Intel website and look for your video chipset.
From there on, download the appropriate driver. I would put it on my desk as you can delete it when you are finished.

Once it is downloaded, you should be able to just double-click and install it.

I'm guessing that you went into the Device Manager. Who will stop you if the drivers are the same version.
The other way will overwrite the old driver.

In the worst case, you will need to uninstall the old drivers first and then install a new one.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. Matt Hudson

  • Connect button on Windows 7 that SOMETIMES appears to wake up from Sleep Mode, sometimes goes right on the desktop

Hello.  Suddenly, from this morning or perhaps yesterday (April 15), when I click my mouse to wake up my new Windows 7 Inspiron PC from Sleep Mode, a Windows login, button began to appear is no longer for me to need to click.  Only a few minutes ago, when I woke up my PC by clicking my mouse, the button HAS appeared!  Does the show button only SOMETIMES, as every time the PC is asleep (hibernation?) for a SHORT time or long?  I'm puzzled about why this behavior started all of a sudden. Initially, he always showed the button - but maybe it's because as a first step, maybe I had waited long before going to my PC to wake him, don't know.  This new variable behavior could be linked to the 12 April Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework which perhaps has not taken effect until a subsequent Restart, that maybe, I did last night or this morning?

    Thanks for the ideas.

    Hi Evelyn,

This problem is perhaps due to the power settings on your computer. Ensure that requires a password on the alarm clock is set. See the following steps.

    1. Click Start, and then click the power Option.
    2. Choose several power supply options. In the Power Options window.
    3. Click on request a password for reactivation.
    4. Save changes and check.

If the problem persists, run the power Troubleshooter and check. Check out the following link.

  • Satellite A500-18 x - don't wake up from sleep mode

I've had this laptop for a little over a week and when it goes into mode 'sleep' trying to wake him up, all the lights on the keyboard lights up and I hear it works but the screen remains black. I updated display drivers and that fixed it for a few days but now it stopped working again. updated audio drivers would force it to not wake from sleep mode kos that he worked well, since I've updated the display driver and then yesterday I updated audio drivers and he returned to not wake up once again in mode 'sleep'. any help much apreciated.

Updated the BIOS and update the driver to display again.
Maybe the after the audio driver that something was wrong, you can clean the registry using CCleaner in most of the cases it s a good idea.

  • Problem with Intel (r) C600/79 X series chipset PCI Express Root Port 3 - 1 d 14 wake my computer from sleep mode

    Hello

(hope this is the right forum for this question)

I asked on the forums so, called Microsoft and the company that made my computer and no one can give me an answer - I don't know what to do anymore.

Whenever I put my computer to sleep (remotely or in the menu windows) it automatically wake up after a certain time (various from 5 seconds to 30 minutes) and he does it without doing me anything.

    So far I have tried:

    • BIOS upgrade
    • Updated many drivers
    • Out all my USB and stuff to see if that had nothing to do with it.
    • Anything that might wake my computer without getting so basically (mouse, keyboards, regular stuff etc.) disabled
    • Above all, I was googeling everything that is remotely close to the subject, I'm trying hard and again came away empty-handed.

As I said in the topic I think that I discovered that the PCI 3 - ID14 express root port is the problem, but then again, what the h *, is that, and I can't for the life of figure me out how to disable.

    My configuration:

    • Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1
    • 2 monitors (BenQ and Acer)
    • Razer BlackWidow (keyboard)
    • Razer Imperator (mouse)
    • Logitech webcam
    • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 680
    • Intel Core i7-3820
    • Asus P9X79 (motherboard)

Anyone has any ideas or have had similar problems? I'm so sick of what I think actually just reinstalling EVERYTHING, but that requires a lot of work because I have so many things I need to keep.

    Any help, either, is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Thanks for all your efforts, but the problem is now resolved.

I downloaded manually all the network card drivers that had nothing to do with 'Realtek' or whatever it is. Then suddenly it worked. So I probably installed a correct driver, strange thing is that I update my network card in the past, but it does not solve the problem.

no idea why they don't work after the release of the mode not sleep? It is very frustrating as I have either stop whenever I'm done with the computer, or reset when it comes out of sleep mode.

Oops, ok, so I disappeared for a bit there.

Yes, I tried that as well.
OK, so, this weekend, I flashed my bios. and that seems to have solved the problem (woohoo)
for anyone else reading this, if you are not very savvy with computers, I would say DO NOT Flash your BIOS, but find someone who knows a little about computers to do it. If you do not Flash your BIOS correctly, it can damage your motherboard
  • How can I fix the very slow response after the wake up the computer from sleep mode?

Never had this problem until a few days ago. Using Windows 7. I want to use the "sleep mode" whenever I leave my office (be it for a few minutes or several hours). Always came back just as I left it (tabs, work-in-progress, etc.) until recently. If I reboot, everything of fine, up to what I use mode "time" again. So painful.

Thanks for the tip. I disabled the accelerator according to your link and suggestions and the problem seems to have been resolved, at least for now!
