T400 Win7/64 advanced Dock - external monitor is no longer comes when starting

My configuration:

T400 (2767-14U)

Windows 7 64 bit

256MB ATI Radeon 3470HD (switchable graphics in 'High Performance')

Docking station advanced (2503)

Monitor of D221 Lenovo's (using the VGA cable)

I used the configuration above without problems for a year.

My problem:

I just replaced my hard drive, clean installed the operating system and all applications and updated all the drivers and BIOS using the system update. Since then, my external monitor is no longer lights up when I start my computer in the dock (lid closed). The only way I can get the monitor external to work is to start my computer first and then "hot dock" it.

As far as I know, all my BIOS/power/graphics settings are the same as always.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Thanks for your quick response.

I thought of that also, but it isn't that...

After I posted the above, I realized that something was different was that I had installed this time logins.

Uninstall and using the installer of Windows 7 for wireless networks appear to have solved the problem.

  • N5110 display not working, but when the external monitor is connected to come

My screen does not work and I often hear 8 beeps at startup which indicate a problem with lcd display. But if I connect an external monitor, the LCD lights up also and then I can disconnect the external follow and work with my built-in screen. If I turned off or in hibernation etc the same problem occurs.

    Hi rndb_v,

LCD screen could be about to fail, or it could be a cable problem. I suggest you try reseating the LCD cable. You can find the manuals here http://dell.to/1n5lDxb

  • External monitor is no longer wakes from sleep (10.11.2 updated)

I have a LG external LCD - LED group connected to my Mac Pro via HDMI 2013.

No problem with no display at all before sleep... but since the 10.11.2, update it just don't wake up from his sleep and I have to force a reboot. I've since turned display sleep off options and I now use a screen saver protected by password instead (of security) and simply turn off my screen with the power button.

I had this problem too with the Beta 2 and Beta 5 from 10.11.2. Both times I started 10.11.1 Time machine, hoping it would be fixed in the final version.

Before that everyone says, the following link is not welcome... I has not come down in the last shower: If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected - Apple Support

It's certainly something that has changed in El Capitan 10.11.2. I now have a beast + $10,000 a computer that can not put its own screen of sleep

Exactly the same problem with my mac pro and panasonic plasma hooked up via hdmi. Worked fine before the update. Now, if I turn off the monitor, I have to reboot to get the screen to display an image, once it comes back on.

  • Cannot get T500 to display on the external monitor

    Hello
I'm running Windows 7 on a ThinkPad T500 (type 2082.BSG), and I'm having problems after have recently updated my display on the Lenovo site software (read the list of installed software, I think that the installation of the software that is the cause of the problem is "ThinkPad features video [AMD switchable Graphics (M8x)] for Windows 7 [32/64 bit] ') version 8.752.4 - 101022 a-107489C-Lenovo). Before the update my computer has guessed what display is active (laptop screen or external monitor) and used the active display. For example, when the laptop is docked and the cover closed he used the external monitor. After the update when the laptop is connected and the lid is closed, I can't display on the external monitor. I have to open the lid and use the Fn + F7 to get the display on the external monitor. Can anyone tell me please what settings should I use to get the old behavior.

    Kind regards

The previous is an old post, but as there was no response, and I recently solved the problem, I write in case someone else runs into the same problem.

After having encountered the problem I restored the factory default driver (which does not show the problem). However, lately I received another message to the effect that it is recommended to install Lenovo "Thinkpad video Features (AMD Switchable Graphics...). ...". I installed the software but the problem described in my original message reappeared. However, this time, the software of (the age AMD) had a "driver update" option and my video material is correctly recognized and the correct driver has been downloaded from the AMD website, after which the problem described in my original post disappeared.

    Kind regards

  • Portege M800 - horizontal lines on external monitor

I just bought a number of new M800 (model number - PPM81A-06L01J) and all have second screens connected.

On all secondary monitors, there are wavy horizontal lines. Secondary monitors are all of different sizes and different brand and model. They are all also on their native resolution and refresh rate. I also got the latest video drivers installed. Any body have an idea as to why this is and how to fix it?

    See you soon

    Brad

    Hello!

I n t have a Portege M800, but on my Portege M700 I had some problems with the external monitor connected too.
    Here's the story about this:

I connected the new external monitor for Portege M700 directly with an old VGA cable. Usually it t wasn't a problem for me but I was not satisfied with the quality of the image on the external monitor (a bit blurry) so I started to update the display driver and the BIOS of my Portege M700 but without success.
Anyway, I tried a bit with Google and here in the forum and I decided to buy a new high-quality VGA cable. I exchanged the cable and what happens? Perfect image quality!

As you can see, you should always use high quality new cables. Also, make sure that you use the highest screen resolution of the external display (native screen resolution) and set the refresh rate of the screen at 60 Hz.

    Good bye

  • Satellite Pro L20 external monitor as the primary device?

    Hello.

I want to configure my computer to use an external monitor, it works very well to extend the desktop on the external monitor as one long section.
But what I want is to use the external monitor as the primary device and the display on the laptop as secondary and extended desktop part. These choice is already in the prperties of the configuration screen in windows xp, but they does not work.
Is there som kind of updated driver or utility separated to resolve this problem?

    RGS.
    Frank

    Hello

As far as I know it of not possible to set the external monitor as a main display and the screen of the laptop as secondary display.

  • His Pro - external monitor - 3 yoga

    Hello!

I have laptop of Yoga 3 Pro-1370. I want to use it with external monitor Samsung which has no speakers, so I want the laptop speakers to continue working when external monitor is connected. However, when I connect the laptop to the screen with an HDMI cable, the speakers of the laptop turned off.

It doesn't bother me when I use it connected to the TV as TV has speakers. So it works well with TV.

Are there settings that keep the computer speakers laptop on when it is connected via HDMI to an external monitor?

After the HDMI connection, go to the system tray and right click on the Volume.

    Click playback devices.

The devices that open, select speakers and set as default device.

    Apply, close and test.

  • E5530 + Intel HD 3000 plus Advanced Docking Station is no triple monitors?

It does not appear that a Dell Latitude E5530 with Intel HD 3000 graphics and a Docking Station advanced brings the possibility to use two external monitors OVER the laptop monitor. Why? Why Dell would push a docking solution that supports supported two external monitors if the laptop monitor would leave when two external monitors are connected to the workstation? Frankly I think it's sneaky. I feel to chip away at. They got an additional $ 200 or more out of me for nothing. Why would someone buy an expensive docking station takes supported two external monitors if the intention was NOT to use three monitors? Has any sense at all.

Dell reference... it wouldn't have happened if you had taken away local sales reps in my area. These idiots you turn on the phone (and switch on every 2-3 months) and call it "sellers" are anything but. Our 'seller' actually told me on the phone that this laptop and this docking station would support three monitors. Flat, he lied to me. And now I have no recourse. I can't believe that I live in a city of 600,000 inhabitants and Dell cannot fit to hide even a single human living on this territory. Ridiculous. This would not have happened 5 years ago when I had a direct representative to visit me every month.

The E5530 is the model of 'budget' - upgrade to the best video that you would have needed to buy the E6530, which has the hybrid video option.

  • Two external monitors can be connected to the docking station?

Is it possible to connect two external monitors to a docking of HP 2740? If so, how it is with 1 single VGA port on the docking station. The tablet which is embodied is a HP Elitebook 2760P.

    Yes, you got that right.

He landed again until what's available / condition on the 2nd external monitor. These days most of them VGA, HDMI and DVI while that few of them have display port too.

  • HP Elitebook/HP 2013 Docking: Elitebook will acknowledge only an external monitor at the same time

I have a HP Elitebook that I anchor on a HP 2013 Ultra Slim Docking Station. I am trying to connect two external monitors (the two HP EliteDisplay E201) to the docking - one VGA and one DVI. The docking station is more than enough ports and screens both work if hooked up at once, but I can't bring it to be recognized at the same time. Is there something that I am missing? Do I need a splitter or how to make this work? Thank you!!

No need to apologize.  If anything, I should apologize because I purge my frustrations with HP to someone also have problems with the HP hardware.  That makes no sense at all.

Anyway, it seems that the Folio 9480 m will have HD Graphics 4400 * at least *.

According to the Intel site, it supports up to 3 independent displays, so you're good so far.

Intel page is very informative, in order to see if you can understand how to operate from here:

    http://www.Intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005556.html

Before that, make sure that your port docking station display firmware is up-to-date.  I assume you are using HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking Station.  Look at the Firmware of this page section (find your way to the page "drivers & software" for your product, or use the software for HP do you still, even though I personally do not use them).

  • Advanced Docking Station vs T400

We ordered only 5 Advanced Docking stations for use with our T400s. We were assured that they would work. So they arrive today and imagine my surprise to see that the Ultrabay housing on the side is not compatible with all things ultrabay, we already bought for the T400s.

An advanced docking station are to the T400 which you know the same connections as the laptop Ultrbay?

Will be the docks of the art work with the T400, but the Ultrabay Enhanced on the dock slots have old EIDE interface and not the interface Serial ATA of new Txxx, Rxxx, ultrabay Exxx series thin mobile computer, Ultrabay Enhanced and Ultrabay Slim thickness are also different.

So I guess you forgot to ask also if the docking station advanced is also compatible with the SATA interfaced Ultrabay Slim drive of the T400...

You will have to wait for the new advanced dock is not yet released as the best to my knowledge.

  • I want to get caught in charge double external monitor for my MBP with Win7 on Fusion, what should I buy?

Forgive me if this is clear somewhere in the communities.  I have indeed searched it in addition to Google and I can't find a clear answer.

I have a 15 "MacBook Pro (aluminum Unibody 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo w / 4 GB RAM with backlit keyboard black) running VMware Fusion 3.1 and Windows 7 x 64 as a guest in Unity Mode operating system.  I have two screens beautiful external LCD on my desk.  I want to be able to run both of them with this software/hardware configuration.  To do this, I bought a USB to DVI DisplayLink solution by Diamond (as the MBP had only a single mini-DisplayPort port) in order to be able to control the 2nd external monitor.

I noticed that when I added the USB to DVI for mixing with the latest DisplayLink drivers (it is the time where I was running VMware Fusion 3.0), it works, but not very reliable and it would break my Win7 x 64 VM or cause other weird problems too much.  I have had no other problems with this configuration in addition to VMware fusion.  As long as I wasn't trying to run a virtual machine with the merger, the USB to DVI external worked very well.   However, given the choice to have a 2nd external monitor or VM support, I had no other choice than to loop and choose VMware on the adapter.  Well, I took it on the mixture so I went back to the adapter.

I got the notice that VMware Fusion 3.1 is available with tons of bugs and it whet my appetite again for the glory of two external monitors, so I upgraded to it yesterday.

Is someone can you please tell me exactly what I need to buy to get the reliable support of two external monitors in this environment?

And please don't say no double or Triple head to go by Matrox.  I don't mean for this set of compromise.

Besides solutions Matrox, my only choice seems to be somehow supporting this additional monitor via Ethernet, Firewire or USB.  I want to know what are sanctioned for this solutions are supported by VMware (i.e. you tell me what to buy...) I'll buy it... and it works... works very well).

    Thanks a bunch,

    Ted...

Almost all laptops, dual support external monitor and are VERY easy to configure.

    http://bannronn.com/market_basics/pc_hardware/multi_monitor_setups_mobile_systems.html

I support Mac and PC systems.  It's a complete joke that anyone would try to convince me that Mac has better bi-ecrans support.

To the extent where what is the best solution for businesses.  The need to install a virtual Mac on a PC machine was never even considered because it is not necessary in the world of business.  I can't say that on Mac.

I'm the guy who went to take care of both in a business environment.  Your brilliant mac sounds really cool, but it is a major pain in my butt and should be confined to a domestic environment.

Screwed as far as home users, my Mac friends never call me on the East of their computer from viruses.  I like this very well on Mac at home.  But which probably has more to do with the fact that it is not profitable to write a virus for the Mac platform.
