T42 2373-JXG Type

Hello

I have a T42 2373-JXG Type

I have a problem with an Ethernet controller not recognized in Device Manager.

Specifically, I know that I have a problem with the wireless network card.

I don't see it on the Device Manager list and I don't have a wireless network connection.

I went to the download site of lenovo and precise model, type, OS etc..

I tried to use all the files available here to solve this problem, but it still does not work.

I downloaded these files: 1kwc42ww, 1rwc89ww, 7ira09ww, 7vwc15ww, 77wc39ww.

I have not either the correct driver file or I'm not doing something good.

Can someone help me?

Ofer

Welcome to the forum!

Here's the right driver for your computer wireless:

http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67214

After you download it, make sure you unpack it in the following directory: C > drivers > win > Wlanath

I hope this helps.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

It is possible that you were installing wrong driver, this time before installing the following driver uninstall all drivers wireless previously installed and install it:- http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/6hwc05ww.zip

Don't forget to install from C:/Drivers/...exe

Also make sure you see two devices in network adapters (LAN or wireless).

No BIOS, fan does not work, the projection of the small lamp at the power supply works do not light. Only the lamp of the battery is activated, when I connect the power supply. This lamp is green and glittering. What's up with that. I kill the mainboard change the fan?

So I hope that everyone knows what is happening.

Try to do a backup on DVD. After chossing the CD/DVD drive it says "can not estimate of available space on the cd/dvd" (I have a Swedish version) so worded could be different in English. I try TDK DVD - R 4.7 GB DVD. Should work, or?

There is no DVD RW in this T42... :@)

  • T42 - 2373-CS8

Windows XP SP 3 installed last BIOS 3.23 incl. Try to install Power Bishop 1.65. Installation is running, all right, but after a reboot, no sign of any MP. Any clue?

'1.65 V' is only available with the Driver power management

The recent power management software is either the Battery MaxiMizer V 1.38 or Power Manager V 1.99o for example. T43 download page (works great with T42) but need Microsoft .NET Framework 3.x (if I am not mistaken)

Both reveal the green symbol in the taskbar

  • T42 2373-C88: gauge buttons and the power of volume

Had to reinstall WinXP home on the T42 and cannot find my original disks of T42... downloaded all the updates on the Lenovo site for this model, but I can't seem to get the volume/mute on the keyboard buttons to work or find the power gauge (downloaded power s/w).  Any help on what to download to get the volume buttons to work and where to 'find' the popular power gauge!

For volume/mute buttons work, you'll need the Hotkey Driver, available at:

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-38953

For the battery gauge in the taskbar, if you already have Power Manager installed, you need to run Power Manager, go to Options and check "See the gauge of Power Manager in the task bar"

  • T42 2373 wireless card

I just took it and can not get on my network because of the security of wireless b card I tried to change the map with a bg wireless Intel and I get an error. Unautherized electric network card and remove it... There must be a way to upgrade this thing isn't there? I tried a second card intel and Broadcom card. I'll try a bios update if ever I can get it to load the driver page.

    Welcome to the forum!

You need a card issued IBM with a certain number FRU, since wireless cards are on a white list in the BIOS and that's why your 'new' raise an error.

If you exhaust your options, feel free to leave me a private message, I have a couple of sitting around, all Intel 2200BG cards out of ThinkPad T4x.

    Good luck

  • ThinkPad T42 2373

Hi my laptop is down and I had to reinstall windows xp pro, the only thing is that I have a few missing drivers in Device Manager there is a? against:

    Other devices
    ? Biometric co-processor
    ? Ethernet controller
    ? Multimedia Audio Controller
    ? Network controller
    ? Modem PCI
    ? Unknown device
    ? Video controller (VGA Compatible)

I had a search in the Lenovo Web site and downloaded and installed many drivers, but none of them seem work.any help please thank you

    Welcome to the forum!

That you have downloaded and extracted files in the subfolder to Win, now you have to go out there and run the setup... for example, your Ethernet (wired LAN) will be in C > drivers > win > Ethernet, and this is where you will find the installation file to run.

Your audio would be in c > drivers > win > Audio etc etc.

Good luck and we keep abreast.

Moderator edit: added detail to the subject.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

If you prefer to install manually, the drivers can be found here:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/quickPath.do?quickPathEntry=2373F1G

Note that to install these drivers successfully, you must run the .exe C:\Drivers configurations... after the extraction of each and everyone of them.

You can also install the drivers automatically through ThinkVantage System Update:- http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/tvsu-update.html

    I hope this helps.

  • IBM/Lenovo 802, 11-N available for T41 2373-9FU internal card?

    I have an IBM T41 2373-9FU Type.

The laptop has an internal wireless card, and I guess that the card was included with the laptop because the card can be managed by using the Fn + F5 key and the corresponding software.

I really like the IBM software used to manage the card and also like the relative elegance of use an internal card, rather than a PCMCIA or USB card.

Are there maps mini-PCI IBM or Lenovo available that take supported 802.11n? I love the wireless software I use now on the laptop and wish to continue using it, rather than using a software and a different brand card.

    Thank you

    Steve

    Welcome to the forum!

No "n" card is available for the series T4x ThinkPads, I'm sorry to say.

  • T42 - USB + biometric controller driver problem

    Dear community,

This is my first post desperate, after talking to Lenovo technicians yesterday for more than 2 hours.

    That's happened?

I sent my T42 (2373-H6U, teacher of XP SP2) in and Lenovo BIOS update, replaced some plastics etc...

Last Thursday, I tried to move some data on my external hard drive, and it seemed to take forever. So I decided to restore the factory settings and did so yesterday. However, it still seemed that I have USB speed issues (in the Device Manager, the system recognizes the USB ports, but the speed is 1.1 instead of 2.0, who she was before sending them in.) and windows did not recognize the drivers of biometric processor...

    So what I did, I

    USB:

-ran PC doctor and he says that this usb device is not installed...

    -installed the chipset intel... http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?sitestyle=Lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-46058

-tried to install this but works not because it does not work on my system... WIN NT 4.0: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-4TQVCU

    What now?

    BIOMETRIC processor:

-anything yet, because I have not found a driver...

    Bottom line:

Lenovo said drop it again (still under warranty) but I have to LEAVE THE COUNTRY TUESDAY FOR a YEAR AND THEY DON'T want TO SHIP overseas!

Maybe one of you can enlighten us on that.

    At soon Barthezz

I'm sorry to say you need to send the machine. The Southbridge chip on the motherboard is a failure and the Board needs to be replaced or the chip in a re-ball. Good luck.

  • Change of motherboard T42

Good day and happy new year IBMers!

I would like to change the motherboard of my ThinkPad T42 2373 - xxx with a card mother T42p, is it possible? Everything will be working properly?

    Kind regards

The Board you are interested in will work fine.

It requires a "long" fan of M10, so if you do not have one, now it's time to order. The FRU is 13R2657.

    Good luck.

  • Hibernate is not available

I have a T41 2373, but also a JTU T42.2373 3HU. I've changed hard drives for some reason and now the Hibernate function stop working and I can't find the tab hibernation in the power inside the Control Panel Options. The hard drive has a clean installtion XP on the T42. Can someone please tell me where can I update the software?

I solved the problem of wireless connection by installing the newsest pilot.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the forum,

Be sure to install the latest chipset drivers and management, as well as the video of the power.
