  • Envy 17: Keyboard Flex, the keys not working not properly, a fan failure

I bought my computer laptop last January 2014 to JB HiFi, I already noticed that the keyboard flexes, but they told me that it is normal and the keys work well anyway.

Move to the last month, I noticed that the bottom surface of my laptop keeps splitting open whenever I have fold to the top of my screen to turn it on. If it can be repaired by pressing gently to close again, it seems to have caused the laptop to ask a fan failure notice every time that I turn it on, asking me to press the Enter key to continue or wait 15 seconds so it will turn off.

I searched on youtube on how to solve this problem and I discovered that blowing fan can solve this problem quickly. I tried several times the breath of the fan before turning on the laptop but it does not always work for me. Fan failure screen always displays at startup. I could not work long hours because I noticed that my laptop has been overheating a lot, probably because of the failure of the fan. I had to turn off for a few minutes let cool and start to work again, thus breaking any momentum of work I.

Then, five days ago I realized that Fan failure screen is not displayed, but things just got worse. Left keys do not work correctly more for example. If I press 'e', it will enter "qe", "2" will enter the '13' and so on. Now this made me suspect that the space in which the keyboard flexes a lot and the fan failure overheating left hand side of the laptop were the cause of the keys with a malfunction, maybe condensation or so.

Please help me out here, I use my laptop for my studies and I can't afford to buy a new.

    Kind regards

    Hi K N R K,.

I tried your method three times, but the keys are still faulty. This is the current behavior I get:

    F5 - turn on the backlight with ' + '.
    F7 – lowers the volume with ' - '.
    F8 - increases volume with ' / '.
    2. does not show '2', but active random dialog boxes (depends on the active window)
    NumLock - types "5 [---].
    w active entry
    Shift + w - paste from Clipboard
    Enter - 'L';
    4 entries "14".
    5 entries "25".
    6 - entries '+ 6'
    -entries + '+ 6'
    x - entries 'x 25 '.
    1 entries "14".
    2 entries "25".
    3 entries '3 '.
    CTRL + v - entered "s".
    FN - inputs + 6
    SPACEBAR - entered '25 4. / »
    Up - entries '.on '.
    -Scrolling and entries "14".
    0 - entered "0" and enter
    . -entries '.» 3. "

If ever the keyboard will work properly again, you have any recommendation with the intrados cleavage whenever I have bend toward the top of the screen to turn on the laptop.

    Kind regards

Good day and welcome to the community.

Looking at the User Guide: http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideapad_flex14flex14dflex15flex15d_ug_english.pdf

and the point of sale page: http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/lenovo/flex-series/flex-14/

I don't see any indication that a lit keyboard was an option for Flex machines.

  • T410 and T420 keyboard and touchpad not working is not windows 7

    Hi guys,.

hope you can help me with this. I have a really strange behavior, I have to say...

I received a T410 and worked two days on this subject. A desk, I moved to another location and worked for a few hours. After lunch, I started again the machine, but the touchpad or the keyboard does not work. If I connect a pointer through the USB port on the computer, the pointer is working, keyboard unfortunately not.

Ok. Installed new Admins. I worked one day, the next morning, same problem. Well, back to the admins, reinstalling. Once again, for two days, I was able to work without any problems. So as it happened the third time admins decided to provide me with a new hardware: I received a T420. I worked with this week without any error.

At Christmas, I took the mobile home. I had worked with him for an hour. I used a pointer USB bluetooth wireless. No problems so far.

I went to the office this morning a guess what? Same problem with regard to the T410: startup of Windows but the touchpad and kayboard does any work!

What I don't have? In my opinion nothing special:

    (1) to start the machine

    (2) pointer added

    (3) connected via WIFI network at home (Home-network application settings)

    (4) packed the laptop in my suitcase and fled.

    (5) back in the office connected to the network via LAN, connected via VGA for monitor, usb keyboard, added pointer.

What this may be? I want to say that I am able to destroy for different machines! Only town is Windows 7 and T4xx series...

    Any idea?

    Yes! Found round!

The problem is that I changed my mouse setting in Control Panel. I received a message asking me about uninstalling the driver for the touchpad. I clicked on "Yes" and restard after he is blocked.

A friend had the same problem he's changed the setting from the touchpad.

I reinstalled the driver, now I only get the message more and I can change my settings. After restarting doesn't always work.

  • Question of T420 keyboard with the J and K keys

Just had my motherboard (first call), keyboard and rest of Palm (second call) replaced under warranty. Now, my 'J' and 'K' keys feel off. Press 'J' on the right side is difficult to push, so I have to knock over near the "H" key or press very hard to make it work. The key 'K' on the left side is hard to push so I have to hit closer to the 'L' key or press on to make it work.

When I removed the keys to watch and try to reinstall them, I noticed a bulge between where the 'J' and 'K' keys sit, more by press 'J '. Anyone have any suggestions to solve this, or I'll just need to call to have the keyboard replaced again? It is difficult to have a tech coming out constantly, and three repairs during the first week of ownership seems excessive.

Ardennes would be the other side of the screw now in place? Perhaps it was not screwed in all the way.

    Hello

I want to buy a keyboard for a W700ds UK. I'm looking for one for a portable older generation who does not suffer the keys to fort/Palm of survey, a 'feature' of the current keyboard. Can someone give me the part number for a keyboard layout of UK which will fit a W700ds unchanged and does not suffer the keys 'strong '?

It seems that using a keyboard of a computer laptop old generation is a solution for the keys survey fort/hollow which W700ds a lot (and others) suffer. More information here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/W-Series-ThinkPad-Laptops/W700-keyboard-flex-hollow-sounds/td-p/124918

  • Warranty and T61p keyboard

I bought my T61p on ebay and have 3 years international warranty of deposit. I would like to change the American keyboard to a Swede. Looks like a real simple thing I could easily do myself, but would that void the warranty?

Also, my current keyboard is not as strong on the left side is it on the right side. For instance, if I push on would be ', the left part of the keyboard flexes a bit, but if I press 'k', the keyboard feels rock solid. Is this normal, or is there a screw which must be tight or something else, that I could fix it?

    Help, please!

    /HCM

Keyboard Exchange will not void your warranty, but if you do a just to return it back. Keyboard are also the most robust when you press the keyboard located near point mounting screws, each other gives a slight flex when you press.

  • New T500 with a weird feeling in left hand keyboard buttons.

It seems as if there is a lot of information, old and new, on a problem with keyboards T500. In November 2009, I bought a new T500 to replace my old but reliable TP600.  I have configured my T500 back on the agenda with Win 7 as well as the best graphic option and the 3.06 processor. Although many positions say that the keyboard problem has been resolved on newer models, I don't think that this is the case, as my T500 seems to have a 'no solid sense' side to the left keys, especially the keys: r, e, o, q, f, d, s, a, v, c, x, and z I don't know if I should call customer support on this issue and is there a replacement keyboard available which feels more like my old TP600?

Well, I did not receive any responses, but I, I did some research here in the forums and on the line, and here's what I learned.

Obviously the T500 are under construction with a keyboard that has a broken down with many openings support plate to release the heat from the processor. Some in the forums have taken pictures of this new keyboard and talked like 'Cheese Switzerland' design. In addition, in order to appease complaints, Lenovo also added an inside, on the left side of the T500 so that the keyboard will rest on it and remove some of the sag for the keys on the left.

Right out of the box, my T500 was a bad sag and flex down to the keys on the left. Further inspection revealed that I got the new improved support and the vent or keyboard style "cheese Switzerland. I found the part number on my keyboard is 42 4034 T with a T 42, 4066 FRU. I saw that some owners had changed their machine with felt pads placed in specific areas under the keyboard but I didn't want to do it, it's a whole new 1 600 + machine. Other research forum revealed that some people replaced their keyboard with the oldest and most robust of the T61 backing plate pattern that is FRU 42T 3209.

I called Lenovo tec support and speak with an employee. I described the problem with left hand keyboard flex and the employee insisted that this question was 'normal' and that all he could do was send me another 42T 4066 keyboard that would be the same. I asked if he could send me keyboard 42T 3209 and he stated that he could not allow this under warranty because it is not the correct replacement for my T500 part number.

I informed the tec employee that I was not satisfied with the design of keyboard and it was certainly 'not normal' and that I've never used a keyboard, laptop or desktop, who had these inconsistencies in the pressure from right to left. (And to think, IBM ThinkPads, used to be known for their excellent keyboard 'feel'). In any case, I insisted on the fact that I wanted to send the laptop to have this checked and the employee, reluctantly, then says that he would mail me a nightclub. Since it was a Sunday, I received the box Tuesday and it shipped right out. I'll be just my T500 today and I have to admit that Lenovo has earned my trust to return!

Inside of the box with my machine was the normal paperwork they send when they have a machine under warranty. The document provided said that they fixed the keyboard, updated the BIOS and made the diagnoses PC Doctor.

A peek inside the machine has revealed that they have replaced the keyboard with one that has the plate support with fewer openings. I found the part number on the one that they used was not the T61 number listed above, but a part number 42 3241 T with a T 42, 3273 FRU.

Regardless, this keyboard is much better now with no flex to the buttons on the left side. Now, I finally have a ThinkPad keyboard! Some people noted that the buttons on the left have a sound 'clickier' than the right side. It is true and that is the same with this keyboard, but the difference in noise side by side is quite a problem for me.

Even though I believe that anyone who call Lenovo customer service, should not have to insist that this condition is not normal. I think it is a problem of well-documented stratification of customer and I think Lenovo should have built the T500 with this keyboard in the first place to avoid a guaranteed trip back to their repair center within the first week of ownership. In addition, look at the inconvenience for the owner as well as the cost of Lenovo in a package for the night the ways plus parts and labour.

Ultimately, I am convinced that Lenovo has finally fixed my problem. After all, that's why I buy ThinkPads in the first place. I always tell people that they are the Cadillac of portable computers.

Good luck to all and I hope this info helps.

  • Turn off the blackBerry blackberry bold 9900 screen Smartphones

    Hi all

I had a blackberry bold 9900. It's a good phone, but the touchscreen trouble me.

Can you explain to me how can I disable tactil on my screen of my blackerry bold 9900. I would use my phone with my keyboard, my fingers are too big for the lastest technology tactil...

    Thanks guys and best regards

The only thing I think would be physically unplug the cable, however, the device does not work properly because there was not enough load on the circuit, and some components would not work correctly I believe because I broke a BB bolding 9930 keyboard flex cable and the device got so hot and closed off the coast until I changed the keyboard. I think the 99xx is designed to be perfectly balanced wise tension and no component could not be disconnected because of this.

    Thank you

    Hello

Looks like I found the solution! I recently came across another post on this forum, where user reported his g5050 showing similar symptoms as mine. A lenovo admin had suggested that it might be due to overage charges stored on the laptop, causing the whole f on the keyboard and the touchpad to act as its loosely connected.

    Solution:

As soon as I find my cell phone charged, immediately I removed the seizure of power enter the laptop!

And now, its all working fine!

  • Flex 2-15 keyboard/Trackpad stopped working

Basically the keyboard/trackpad are no longer works for my lapop (Flex 2-15).

Here is the race to the bottom of what I know:

    (1) function keys still work like the brightness upward or down before turning off the screen.

    (2) in the Device Manager it is the yellow traigle with an exclamation for the trackpad, but the keyboard driver seems to work properly.

    (3) on the mouse driver, it says Code 10, has expired.

    (4) I tried to uninstall the mouse driver and restart to see if windows would be to install automatically and the pilot comes back, but with the same code 10.

    (5) touch screen works very well.

    (6) running Windows 8.1.

    (7) I tried restore factory settings and the problem is still there.

    (8) keyboard and USB mouse work perfectly well.

    (9) switching modes I tried to see if keyboard/trackpad has been disabled, but no luck there either.

Really appreciate some help here because it of beyond frustration since I didn't have this laptop for a little over a month and can no longer return. Also, Lenovo does not support anything else than the material and wants $70-140 to solve this problem.

    Thank you!
