T440p using more low-power AC adapter

I recently got a T440p. The laptop came with an adapter 135W.

I would like to order an additional adapter.

When I search for compatible adapters on the Lenovo site by typing my model number, he mentions 65W and 90W, 135W 170W adapters.

http://shop.Lenovo.com/SEUILibrary/controller/e/Web/LenovoPortal/en_US/catalog.workflow:find - compatibility...

What would be the consequence of the use of a lower adapter 135W (of which the laptop came with)? Charges slower? Reduces the speed of the CPU? I guess that lower power adapters might work since Lenovo lists in the store when I searched for my machine.

The machine has a quad core CPU and a discrete graphics card.

Thank you.

Hello.

You can run your machine on the lighter for normal operations on an adapter 90 w, and the CPU must function normally in most of the situations. However, if the graphics are used as well, it will reduce the functionality / slow down the loading of your machine, and is certainly not an optimal situation for a powerful laptop such as you have.

You need an adapter 135W operate at full capacity. Period. I had a T440p spruced up by myself and a W520 170W, and I would never cut corners when choosing an adapter for them.

    Experts Sars WLAN,

I'm new on a big installation WLAN here and noticed that not only the AIR-CAP2702I-E-K9 communicate on the Management Station first central and many changes of low-power 2.4 GHz antenna power level.

People here tell me that it is not harmful, but I am slightly dubious and would like your opinion here.

WLAN access points are activated with 2.4 and 5 GHz-antennas and shoot only 15.4 Watt following switch.

Interface Admin Oper Power (Watts) class of device
Of the PS to the device

The access point is configured for 802.11n on both bands and 802.11ac on 5 GHz.

I can also see many Power Level change on the 2.4 Ghz antenna.

Here people are complaining about downtime on laptops for SAP applications.

Also a voice over WLAN installation does not work very well.

But I don't know if this has something to do with low power.

Is 'Low-Power' - Situation responsible for a large amount of sending changes to feeding on 2.4 GHz?

    * No.

Who knows more and has experience with low-power facilities?

You should focus on your environment and what you see. With low power due to the PoE does not affect the user experience.  If your access point changes the power too high or too low, you can introduce some poor duplication of coverage or channel.  If you are also in a building/space tenant shared, other installs nearby Wireless will affect your RF and yours will have an impact on their. Nothing we can do.  You must set customer issues before assuming what is wrong, that nothing could be wrong.  The updated client drivers is also a good thing to do to eliminate this problem.

  • USB random sectioning and low power after Windows Update

I had a problem on my Windows 7 to USB disconnected randomly and my cell phone could not get enough power to recharge, this week, I formatted my way of thinking cell phones that could be related software.

At first it worked fine, USB not disconnect not even my phone loaded without problems.

Then, I made the update of Windows install SP1, after that everything is gone back as it was, constant disconnections and low power on the USB key.

I already change the selective suspension of USB registered false on each USB input in the Manager of peripheral and disabled "Windows can turn off this device to save power".

When it detects Ok on the phone, it shows that the use of 500mA, then he loses the connection and reconnect as unknown device and use of unknown power.

Another thing is that the often external HARD drive it freezes, when I use the performance monitor shows the current length of queue disk frozen with a value greater than 1,000.

Anyone know which alter KBs feature USB? Or how to get back the old functions?

My laptop is 2010 updated with the latest drivers from HP.

Hi, I tried something that apparently solved the problem.

Instead of removing just the USB drivers, I removed everything about USB, my edge Broadcom Bluetooth, Wi - Fi on board... because they use this interface.

After Windows again every single sensor, including the drivers of USB hub, I had no problem of disconnection or power.

In any case as soon as I can I'll try upgrading to Windows 8.

If I have gives me more problems I'll answer here.

    Thanks for the support.

    I got also a docking station for a P50 that has a power of 230W showing 20V 11. 5a.

The connectors are similar, but I'm hesitant to try the 230W power supply in the W540.

It is allowed to use the 230W power supply with the W540?

230 watts is maximum power feeding, it only provides the energy required by the computer.

  • Calendar Creator more than Power UP software compatibility with W7 Pro operating system

I am running Calendar Creator more than power upward on a laptop XP Pro (SP3) and Vista desktop. I upgraded a second office linking W7 Home Pro for compatibility features but can not get the W7Pro to run the calendar program. I went through the screens of compatibility W7Pro without success. I moved the program from one computer to another for years with no real problems so far. I LOVE my calendar program and need advice how to solve the problem of compatibility W7Pro.

By the program area, some of the system requirements are as follows:

80386 or higher IBM or compatible PC: 3MB RAM: Windows 3.0 or higher:

Its a very old origonally program for win3.0 and could thus be a program 16 bits, and if you have win7 64 bit his will never run unless you use an emulator, such as DosBox.

Basically, you can solve a problem of compatibility, otherwise that by getting an update of the program, if such exists, or using an emulator or virtual winxp, but one such solution will be more difficult than its worth (if even that works)

Time to move and use the calendar provided in windows live essentials, or another more upto date schedule program

  • Warning of low power for AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9

    Hey Buddie,

We bought a few AIR-LAP1242AG-C-K9, but not perchasing no matter what wireless controller. When I connect the TOWER to the port of Cat2950 or Cat2960 TRP, all the TOUR cannot start normally. It shows low power, please consult the attached two images. But if I use the external power cable, the TOUR can work well. So, I would like to know two things.

    1. can I use stand-alone TOWER without using the controller?

    2. If the above is Yes, how can I configure the PPoE on cat2950 to TURN Support correctly?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi Jian,

    Q. can you a RIDE operate independently of a wireless LAN (WLC) controller?

    A. No, towers may operate independently of the function WLCs. tours in conjunction with a WLC only. The reason is that the WLC provides all the configuration settings and the firmware that the TOUR needs in the process registration.

So you will need to return the AP and download the version of IOS, buy a WLC or convert the TOWER to IOS :(

    Q. how to distinguish between a regular (standalone) AP and a TOWER?

    A. the best way to distinguish between a regular access point and a TOWER is to look at the reference number of the AP.

LAP (AP light Protocol [LWAPP])? The numbers always begin with AIR-LAPXXXX.

Autonomous AP (Cisco IOS? Software)? The numbers always begin with AIR-APXXXX.

This doc. good Q and A

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item09186a00806a4da3.shtml

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.
