T500 compatibility with Advanced Mini Dock 2504

Help please!

I have a mini advanced docking station 2504 I used with my R61 successfully for a few years.

I recently bought a T500 and was informed by the sales department that my existing 2504 advanced mini dock would be compatible with the T500.

When I use the mini dock with the T500 no USB port works not at all?

All the solutions or do I need a different mini dock.

they are definitely compatible.

    Hello

I have a type of T500 2242 with GMA X4500MHD graphics in Advanced Mini Dock. BIOS 1.20, startup display set to the DVI connector. Cable DVI - D single-link of the dock-> DVI - D input on external TFT monitor. I get different results according to the attached monitor:

    (1) PX191 19 "1280 x 1024 native plane: splash screen appears on the external monitor.

    (2) "Topaz" Soyo DYLM24D6 24 "native 1920 x 1200 S: external monitor stays off, the splash screen appears on the screen of T500.

Maybe there is something wrong with the Soyo is EDID? Or a bad interaction with the T500 BIOS?

I would be grateful for clues on how to get the start screen to display on the monitor 24 ".

    Thank you

    Frank

Good news! I sent my T500 in-service, and Lenovo replaced the motherboard. Now, the startup screen is correctly displayed via the dock to my monitor's DVI port external 24 ". After what Linux / X sees the external monitor and it puts in place and it displays correctly. So: problem solved! Thanks, Lenovo

Before the swap of the Board of Directors system, I was able to use a cable DVI DisplayPort / talk to the 24 "monitor. This requires an extra cable to plug/unplug, so it's nice to finally have the DVI dock work.

It seems that this problem only arises with some ThinkPad + external monitor combinations. My original system card worked fine with a 19 "monitor. And another Member pointed out that a single version of a 19 "works fine with its T500 Belinea monitor, even if a previous version does not. (See this thread for more details.)

  • 2504 advanced Mini Dock

Hello, I think I have an advanced Mini Dock for use with T60 my family Christmas. I would use it to connect the laptop to our TV for watching movies.

    My TV has these ports:

    Composite

    Component

    S video

    HDMI

There are port VGA No.. If there was, it would have been great. :/

It supports resolutions up to 1080i. I would be able to establish a connection? If so, how?

I don't want to buy what it does not work...

For a better quality of film get a dvi to hdmi adapter, but you'd need a race a separate line for audio, as the dvi to hdmi adapter are not audio.

  • Battery ThinkPad Advanced Mini Dock (250410U) display will not extend

I have a T400 (2764 CTO with a Radeon HD 3400), an Acer 23 "monitor and an advanced Mini Dock (part 250410U, model 2504). I am trying to expand the display of the T400 to the Acer monitor via a VGA cable. When I plug the monitor directly into the laptop, the screen extends. However, when I dock the T400 and connect the monitor to the Mini Dock, I can't get a signal on the screen. Any thoughts? Thank you.

the same behavior occurs with the Intel GPU mode is?

  • T400 and Advanced mini dock

Hi - I have a T400 with integrated graphics card and I'm looking into getting a mini dock advanced to run an external monitor.

What output resolution has done with success through the advanced mini dock VGA port? -This will help me understand which monitor to get, I read that many had bad signal of the dock when using the VGA port.

As my T400's only integrated graphics, I won't be able to use the port DVI - is this still true or something changed?

Your comments would be much appreciated,

    Thank you

    Cosmin

    Hi cosma12,

Your T400 with integrated graphics can digital video output through integrated DisplayPort or DVI connector on the advanced Mini dock. It is only the switchable T400 graph that cannot use DVI with integrated graphics card, they must use the ATI chip instead.

Graphics from Intel in the T400 can drive 1920 x 1200 on DVI or DisplayPort - which I think is the highest resolution, supported by the single-link DVI. If you are shopping for monitors, I highly recommend to make one with a digital input: DVI / HDMI / DisplayPort. the video quality is theoretically (and practically) better than when using analog (VGA).

EDIT: Oops, the T400 (and R400) do NOT have the DisplayPort, while the largest do T500/R500. My bad.

  • T400 and Advanced Mini Dock - does not detect DVI monitor

I have a T400 with integrated graphics and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit, and I recently bought an Advanced Mini Dock for it.  I have a Dell 1800FP monitor connected to the dock via the DVI output.  When I anchor the T400, the system does not detect the external monitor.  If I go to the resolution of the screen and click on detect, it does not appear.  The weird part is that if I reboot then than in the dock, when the system comes back he * is * detect and use the external monitor.

Any ideas what's happening?  Other equipment connected by the base (USB, Ethernet cable devices) all work very well.

I think I solved this problem.  I uninstalled my video driver and installed the latest version from the Lenovo Web site (which was more recent than the one found by Lenovo System Update).  Now my system properly detects the external monitor when I attach to the docking station.

  • Triple monitors with Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 T520

    Hello

I have Lenovo T520 with home Mini Dock Plus Series 3 station.

I would like to connect three monitors, that is, two dviports and thirdly, one is the T520 monitor.

I updated my video driver for Interl (R) Graphics 3000 Driver.

When I try to run the NVIDIA Graphicdriver, I got a message error "the graphics driver is not compatible with the graphics hardware. I tried to find a solution on Lenovo forum

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/options-Accessories/mini-dock-plus-series-3-with-triple-monitors/TD-p/57...

It says that I need to enable Optimus in the system.

I can't understand what he found where I can activate Optimus?

You guys have any suggestions as to how I can put it up using two DVI ports instead of use the vga?

    Kind regards

    Thank you all guys.

While constantly looking for a solution to extend the number of monitor. I managed to find a solution. Today, I had "I - TEC USB 2.0 graphics video card" and he connected with one of the USB port. It works very well and I am also pleased with the video quality. I can separately used the third monitor. It is also possible to share the display between the second and the third screen.

  • ThinkPad W700 Mini Dock 2.0

    Hi all

I just ordered a week ago a new Thinkpad W700 with W700 Mini Dock 1.0 (43R8782) and I always look forward to receive. Today I received an email from Lenovo telling me my order was changed and the Mini Dock was cancelled due to the EOL (End Of Line?).

I went back to the Lenovo Web site and I found the same Mini Dock still listed and available for order. I also found a new Mini Dock 2.0 (57Y4345) for the same price, but the power 170W (41R4421) is not included. Food costs an additional $ 100. There is of course NO difference between the old model and the other beside the fact that food is not included more.

Now, I understand Lenovo need to make money somewhere, but is not illegal to do something like that? I don't think that here in Quebec there is what is called a false statement or taking advantage of the customer? If the new docking station was much cheaper I would probably bite the bullet and just order it, but it's crazy.

Am I the only one here who thinks that there is a problem with that? Especially since I already placed my order in good faith, and even when they say it is no longer available, it is still listed as available on the site? What can I do about it?

    Thanks for your thoughts.

  • T420s + Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 90W - USB 3.0 works as USB 2.0

    Greetings!

I'm probably not the first person who cares, but I did not find the same topic in the forum.

I have T420s Lenovo ThinkPad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 with USB 3.0 plugged 90W. The problem, I USB 3.0 port on the dock (blue) work in USB 2.0. The port of the laptop works very well. I check it by plugging Seagate drive HARD mobile - when the HARD drive is plugged into the port blue station dock Windows (7, 64-bit) complains "device can run faster", using the port laptop does not trigger the message.

    USB 3.0 is installed.

    BIOS version is 1.37.

    Drivers Intel Chipset are updated.

Device Manager displays the connection as a chain of two "Generic USB Hub, if the HARD drive is connected to the laptop port its chain of" Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 blah - blah ".»

Help, please! If this combination is not supported, please point to the corresponding link.

    Thank you!

USB 3.0 port on the dock is not supported on the T420s, it is supported only on T430s and later versions.

It allows to find the document listed in the link.

I have the T420s and T430s with this docking station.

I have 3 laptops W520 and 3 Thinkpad Mini Dock Plus Series 3 docks. The audio 1/8 "output audio and MIC ports are not detected by Windows. In the sound settings, the high definition Audio Device is always disconnected. I read that there was a problem with background sound via ports audio on an earlier execution of these docks, but the production on these date are all 11/07 (after Lenovo solved the problem). Someone had a similar problem? The ports are inactive for the W520 by design?

Solution:... drivers. Should have checked that first. I thought that our support office would have done that. I thought wrong.

  • Music from Apple (ios 10) with problems of dock car

    Hi, I use Apple music on an ios Iphone SE 10 with dock car;

Since ios 10 update, radio can't play music in shuffle mode selected directly from the phone, but only if selected on the radio buttons (very unconfortable)...

If I play a playlist in random mode from the phone, when I switch the track of steering wheel controls, there no follow the queue play generated, but get a song randomly without rational basis... very frustrating

My car (Hyundai i30) worked perfectly with ios 9...

    Hi an_ita,

I have a Hyundai Elantra (the equivalent American i30) 2013 and when connecting my phone to the car with USB port, the flying track controls do not work in the ios 10. I used to be able to change the path of a song in ios 9 very well. The music app Apple and others like Google Play, Spotify, etc. were very well in ios 9. In ios 10, if I change the track, it causes the phone to disconnect from the car. It seems that Apple has some work to do to correct the compatibility with cars when you connect to them with the USB port.
