T520 loses sound after sleep

Hello

I recently bought a T520 and have problems with the sound. When the computer goes to sleep, then is resumed I lose the output of the sound card. When I check the sound properties in the Control Panel, everything seems OK, but no sound is output from the speakers. The volume is about half.

Sound card: 20672 Conexant SmartAudio HD

Sound card drivers version: 8.32.18.0

It is the latest version according to Lenovo System Update.

Deactivation and activation of the device in Device Manager do not help.

Any ideas?

@benc,

Latest driver for the T520 should be 8.32.23.0.

Try to update and see if it helps.

  • Satellite P100 - no sound after sleep or hibernate on Windows 7 mode

    Hello everyone,

I'm desperately looking for a solution for my sound problem on my PC after browsing many forums that were talking about the same question, but without effective solutions either.

I write this message because I have a laptop Toshiba P100-488 running under Windows 7 64-bit (after having upgraded the processor) and that uses a Conexant CX20549 audio chip.

Everything works correctly, and if the sound is chip with a 64-bit of Windows 7 installed driver but I noticed that after the return of fashion sleep or hibernation, then audio device is still recognized in the Device Manager and shown as active in the control panel and in the taskbar but unfortunately No sound out of speakers.

I tried several drivers (including those from Dell and HP on some sites) but still the same problem.
Also, I tried to update the driver from Windows Update that suggested the Conexant SmartAudio HD2 but the same behavior.

Those of you who would have a solution for me or perhaps a driver concerned that could solve this annoying problem is question here?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards

  • OfficeJet 6968: Officejet 6968 loses connectivity after sleep

OfficeJet 6968: easy to undertake together upwards more wireless, then it totally fails when energy saver or sleep mode is used (what's it called depends on whether you are looking at the screen of the machine or its settings via a computer). This has been a very difficult and aggravating problem, because it makes you think that everything is connected and is doing so well. Then, suddenly, nothing connects more - not the computer, not an ipad, no access to assistance from the IP address of devices, etc. - which works perfectly a single minute there!  Tried a different printer (started with a 6978) and have the same problem, so it is either something in the software or an incompatibility with my wireless set up.

After searching for hours through the forum and seeing other problems with sleep/energy saver, followed the problem down to the sleep/wake. Modification of the duration of sleep for 5 to 10 minutes moved the problem of connectivity to 10 minutes.

6968 actually stopped in the middle of an active print job. Just left. 12 pages for a job of 24 pages. Restarted printer and it has taken over part of the work.  Apparently sleep energy saver does not care if it is actually used. Same problem, try to load the software on the computer. About 5 minutes in the Setup routine, when comes the sales pitch for the service of the ink, the computer displays that it loses the connection with the printer. So much for the implementation.

An aggravating role through all of this, is that the screen of the printer says it is connected to the network. Gives no sign of problems. He sleeps screen darkens, you press a button to wake up and then it signals that all is well. Blue network light solid. The specified IP address. Thin connection. Apparently not, as no computers or phones or Ipads can see it... shows as disconnected in the devices in the computer. And the journal of router sees cut right to the 5 minute mark (or 10 when the value for that) almost to the second!

Access its settings through its IP address, tried to update the software and guess what... hit the 5 minute mark and he has even stopped the update process. So apparently this timer sleep-saving energy company outweighs everything else what is the printer.  Incredible.

Abandoned the wireless for a cable to the old (luckily I had one, because apparently the cables, printed instruction manuals and the owners are too outdated these days for HP technology). Turn off the radio. print a test very well. Waited for the printer screen to go black, indicating "standby" mode. Tried to print close to success when the printer on, then he sat down and gave the blue circle of frustration... "Printing"... 'Printing'... posted for almost 5 minutes... then 'Cancel'... fed with a blank page, whirred and leading in-house for a minute, then fed a page with strips that looked like smeared barcode. So about 10 minutes in a revival completely fail - and this with a CABLE not my wireless, has if clearly it has a sleep problem in the HP software. Perhaps the ultimate energy saver?  After all this he printed a test very well - however, after a wake upward, wasted paper and ink failure and not forgetting the 10 minutes. To print a single word: 'TEST '.

Unfortunately, there seems to be no way to completely disable mode 'sleep'. Heck, it would be better to just completely turn the thing, as the time to roll a reboot is much less than the time to wake up and move to a successful impression, but the off timer is the order of the hours is no help. Certainly, it would be a really poor solution for a printer whose main selling point is a wireless connectivity for multiple devices!

All I wanted to do 3 weeks ago was replace a dead Canon printer. Worst experience HP I had in the 1930s. Thus, HP. Any other ideas? Just somehow disable this sleep BS?

Number of brand and model of the router?

These settings are to set up your wireless printer to stay connected to your router, wireless devices stay better connected and makes your router secure and hack proof.

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers must always be assigned an IP (fixed) manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here (Windows solution 4, static IP).
    2. Or check in the printer that ' Auto Off/sleep/power saving mode ' is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check the properties of your printers.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. If necessary and you have assigned a static IP address, try using auxiliary for the preferred DNS Server 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as DNS server in the printer.
    5. Wireless printers work on the band Wireless 2.4 Ghz not the band 5.0 Ghz.
    6. Make sure the printer is on the latest firmware by checking with the HP support site.
    7. Check all devices wireless in your home for interference. Check microwave, babyphones, phones, wireless and wireless alarm systems are a big culprit.  Any of these will knock at your printer wireless intermittently.
    8. Make sure that your printer and router are at least 5 feet independently of each other.

In the router: (refer to the manual of your router for more information)

    1. Use a fixed wireless channel as the 1, 6 or 11, never 'auto', try channel 1 first then the rest.
    2. Set the router to 20 Mhz only or 145Mbps router function.
    3. Always use WPA2-AES (Personal-PSK) encryption, but you can try the "mixed" mode
    4. Disable the WPS and never use it and disable the UPnP for the security of routers. No one can hijack your system now and help with wireless connectivity (if you want to know why, research on the web).
    5. If you have a router dual band (2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz bands), make sure the SSID is NOT identical, they must be different for all the bands, even for networks without comments.
    6. SSID broadcast should be enabled.
    7. Always make sure your router is on the latest firmware.
    8. Save all the settings. Food at the same time, wait 2 minutes.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.
    9. Marketing the printer and check that it reconnects to the router.

Microsoft has announced an update of Windows for the detection of device address... mode devices .waking 'sleep'. Update your Windows 10.

If you have Windows 7/8/8.1 discovery network is on or off?

    1. Control Panel/Network and Internet/network and sharing Center / advanced sharing settings.
    2. Under home or work (current profile) / network discovery.
    3. Select "Turn on network discovery" and save the changes.

Now the last thing to do once everything above has been tried and you still have the same problem, completely uninstall and delete the printer and its software.

Use http://www.iobit.com/en/advanceduninstaller.php .  Use a powerful scanner at the end and remove all registry entries.

Now go back and reinstall the drivers and full software on the HP website.

Last resort effort - if your printer has an Ethernet connection, suggest you to get some adapters line and convert your Ethernet wiring for your printer.

  • No sound in my Satellite P100 after sleep mode in Vista

For 2 weeks I have no sound in my notebook.
Description of the laptop: Satellite P100, Vista Home Premium, Intel Centrino Duo 1, 73Ghz, 3 GB of memory. audio device: Conexant HDaudio2.

The sound has been disabled after I guess, an automatic update.

    I reinstalled Vista. No effect.

There is no sound after each start up or when the computer wakes from standby/hibernation. To activate it, I have to go into DeviceManager, SystemDevices and disable the HD Audio Controller, and then turn it back on.

The fix for windows KB937077 does not apply to my setup (message from Windows after the installation of KB937077).

Please tell me how I can solve this problem.

  • Lost after that computer woke up from his sleep and sound after the Microsoft Fix It

    Original title: no sound

    Hello.

No sound from my computer.  The Conexant device work properly.  Volume is in place on the speakers and the sounds of Windows.  Windows Media Player is not cut.  No speakers or headphones are involved.

This problem started a couple of weeks, when I ran Microsoft difficulty It Center.  I used the difficulty It Center because I always lost sound after that my computer is awake to being asleep, which means that I always had to reboot to get the sound.  But now there is no sound whatsoever.

    Can you help me?

  • Accounts, lost after sleep

    Hello

I have a problem with the accounts.

After sleep, the Macbook loses all accounts and applications such as mail, reminder, notes, calendar, Safari,... are suspended and do not respond.

The only solution I found is to restart the Macbook.

After the reboot, all accounts keep popping up.

Below, a screenshot with the accounts.

This screen is empty after sleep.

    Hi Damien_D,

Thank you for your participation in the communities of Support from Apple.

It seems that your MacBook Pro behaves unexpectedly after he wakes up from his sleep, and you cannot use Internet accounts until you restart.

I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps If your Mac does not sleep or wake up when expected. (Although the title of the article is different from what you see, the steps can help yet.)

    • Reset the SMC.
    • Reset the NVRAM.
    • Disconnect external devices other than your Apple keyboard, mouse, and screen. If that solves the problem, gradually reconnect your devices, testing each time until you find the device that interferes with sleep. And then check the documentation that came with the device or contact the manufacturer of the device.
    • Start in Safe Mode to see if the problem is related to startup items not Apple, login items or kernel extensions.
    • Try to isolate the problem by using a different user account.

    Best regards.

Number of brand and model of the router?

These settings are to set up your printer wireless (or wired):

    • Stay connected to your router
    • Trouble printer status 'offline '.
    • Wake mode 'sleep'
    • All wireless devices stay better connected

While the DHCP is convenient, devices like printers (wired and wireless) should always be assigned a (fixed) IP address manually to avoid conflicts on your wireless network and must be outside the range of the router DHCP.  After the adjustment of the static IP address the computer must be updated to show a Standard TCP/IP port with the IP address of printers under printer properties/Ports.

    1. Set a static in the printer IP address (click here) outside the range of the DHCP of the router (check your manual). It is for Linksys routers, but can be used for all routers. Check your DHCP range and change this first if necessary. More Help Wireless Printing is here and here and still more here.  Video here explains the problem and how to solve the problem. <--> So watch this!
    2. Or check in the printer "Auto Off/sleep/Energy Saving Mode" is disabled the System Mode Time Out is set to zero (0) Use the built-in webserver (EWS) by visiting the printer address IP address in the address bar of your browser, click on settings tab/Auto Off. Or use the printer, printer Home Page (EWS) Wizard. Also check your printer properties.
    3. If the printer supports and has IPv6 enabled, disable the IPv6 option in the printer.
    4. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a socket wall and not to a UPS, power strip or a lightning arrestor. This will cause the printer to drop offline connection and disconnection (checked yes!).

  • Dv4-1413tx - no sound after downgrade to xp vista frm

    Hello...

I recently bought a HP dv4-1413tx with vista home premium pre-installed on it. I tried it downgrade to Windows XP SP2. Managed to install XP on it but feels a hell of a time with drivers... Especially the audio. There is absolutely no sound. Not even the beeps.

I tried to install UAA audio bus driver first and then the driver of HDTV LSI etc. but still no sound. I spent several hours on this subject...

Peut - some kind soul please direct me on how to go about this case?

I remember that I was in a similar situation some two years back in an attempt to re - install Windows XP on another laptop from my friend. We install everything except the audio. Finally, the technician at the shop could install for us. Now I'm away from the place... So can not go and find out that the man how it install it. It was also a HP laptop only...

I would like to add that the mute button stays red and does not respond when you press.

There is nothing about Audio in Device Manager... Maybe that's the problem.

  • Password after sleep

    Hello.

I have Windows 8 Pro. My Lenovo desktop PC will not make me a password after sleep, even though I did everything in Power Options (for example require a password on wake up, etc.). When the computer wakes up in the morning, it asks for a password. But when he wakes up from his sleep after 25 minutes (balanced power options), it does not ask for password. I really need the pc to request password. Help, please. Thank you

Can access the settings / settings of computer in the bar of charms

Then the issue of users.    Make sure it says any user that wakes the computer must have a password.

Maybe take in front of what it is now and restart.   Then change it again if necessary.

Are you course in 25 minutes you mentioned really sleep mode - sounds like he turned off the screen and not yet reached the hour of sleep to occur.    On my Lenovo power light flashes when his sleep and full-time light up when the screen is blank.

  • Some applications does not respond after sleep (El Capitan)

Product: 13 '' Macbook Pro retina (12.1) (base model sheet)

    El Capitan Version: 10.11.6

    The problem:

When I connect after that my Macbook went down, I often have problems with some of the stock apps. In particular, I had this problem with the Mail Messages, reminders and calendar. This seems to be a problem when they are open before putting the macbook to sleep. This same problem happened with non-apple-stock applications.

Once logged in, if I click on the application icon, the application window will come into focus. After that, I'm unable to use the application (as if frozen) and I often just see the spinning Rainbow mouse icon.

Can I force quit the app and then open it again, but now the application does not load.

To solve the problem, I can restart the macbook and all is well.

Some others probably associated with funny things I saw (only attracted to this once... but did not look at one time or another):

I open the calendar application after the macbook was sleeping and my full general calendar was empty (which would be nice if it were true!). In any case, I checked the 'accounts' and also found that there was no accounts! (I have 3 goes). So I wonder if there is a problem with the accounts after sleep since these apps I've had problems with all iCloud account and mail also uses some other accounts.

Big Question: Is there something I can do to make that happen?

Thank you very much for your help! Sorry if this is a double post, it is difficult to find an answer via google search.

Start Safe Mode removes the system caches that can help...

Follow these steps to start in safe mode.

    1. Start or restart your Mac.
    2. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.
    3. Release the SHIFT key when you see the logo Apple appears on the screen.

After the Apple logo appears, this may take longer than usual to reach the login screen or your office. This is because your Mac performs a check of directory of your drive to boot in safe mode.

To leave safe mode, restart your computer without pressing any keys during startup.

Then try to Message, Mail, etc.

If you still have problems, check the startup disk.

Launch the disk utility located in/Applications/Utilities

Then select the disk to boot on the left and then select the first aid tab and then click run.

  • Thunderbird V38.2.0 crashes after SLEEP under WIN10 Home 64-bit

The freeze after sleep 8 10 times while Thunderbird already worked very well. Also noticed a small empty Popup which may not be rejected. Must be completed via the Task Manager, restart OK.

This is a known issue that gets attention.

Alternative WORKAROUND: Until a permanent solution is made, I hope that in the next update, if you want to avoid the Thunderbird crash try setting to be disconnected before the sleep/hibernation file. Offline | Work offline. Then do the same again after the wake up the computer to put it online. Or, in the case where the only problem is Thunderbird not getting not new messages, do both after the wake up the computer.

  • Crash report after sleep screen

Firefox will not start after sleep. All I get is the fault report screen. All right if I reboot my system. I have a screenshot of the error, if any. I also have a crash if necessary report.
