T60 2007-CTO is unable to sleep or into hibernation

I bought this recon T60 as a rudimentary. I installed HP home and I want to activate the standby or Hibernate options

I have read the previous posts and have all tried but to no avail.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the forum!

I'll guess that're missing you a graphics driver:

http://download.Lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/PC/pccbbs/mobiles/79d179ww.exe

After downloading and extracting, you will have to go in C > drivers > win > display and then run the file of configuration from there.

Good luck.

I did a fresh install of windows 10Prox64 on this laptop which is originally pre-loaded with windows7 Prox64. I installed the drivers on the disc included. now, every time the laptop into hibernation or sleep I can't wake him up - the screen blinks several times then turns white. Nothing comes on the screen even not the mouse pointer. I can only continue by making a forced power off feeding and when I start her works normally as long as he does not sleep. I installed all the updates driver/Windows with the same result. Is there something else I can try other than to return to HP?

    HI Lotto,

Please download and install the software HP support assistant from this link:

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?JumpID=va_r602_us/en/any/PSG/pl_ot_ob_ds_pd/hpsupportassistant_cc/DT & _sm_au_ = i7VQZMWMQRfwpVps

It will help to identify and correct the missing drivers and updates also.

This link also contains manuals on how to use HP Support Assistant. Make sure that you are connected to the internet during this operation.

If this does not work, you can try to reset your power options "by default" in the microsoft windows system.

and in the end, as a workaround, you can modifty power plan options to avoid hibbernation or standby mode.

    Thank you for the update.

Please, try the following steps and check.

Go to: Control Panel > Power Options > change plan settings > change advanced power settings, and then expand these options:

    [+] Sleep

    [+] Allow hybrid sleep

And set the options under "Allow hybrid sleep"to"Off".

Now, restart the computer once and check the status.

  • Power management & random question sleep/put into hibernation

    Hello people!

First of all, I'm an administrator COMPUTER experienced, and I've owned 6 Thinkpads over the years... the machine in question is today a Thinkpad W530 (K1000M, 16 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD Intel, Windows 7 x 64, latest drivers and BIOS).

I had a weird problem where out of no where, and while on battery, the computer will go to the default mode ' uh oh, battery runs out, record everything! Aka, if Hibernate is enabled, the computer will be in hibernation. If I disable Hibernate in Windows, then the computer go to sleep. So the problem is same, and for other symptoms can present as "hibernate without warning" instead of "sleep without warning.

In any case, this occurs sporadically and often at times that bothers. The first few times, I didn't know what has increased, but I looked into it a little further now.

Immediately after this forced sporadic "sleep" / "hibernate" happens, I checked the event log:

    "

    The system to sleep.

    Reason to sleep: battery

    "

Now, obviously, this is no good. I was a little confused the first time I saw that as the power manager, or the built-in Windows gauge showed low battery. And after that I take for sleep/hibernate mode, the battery is still fine.

Today, however, I only found a major clue. This time, instead of simply jumping to a sleep/hibernate event, I got a low battery critical Windows popup warning first, and looking at the Windows battery meter was shown left 7%, even if Lenovo Power Manager gauge showed a little more than 50% left. Almost immediately after, he does it is sleep and I wake him up once again, and of course, as always, the battery level returns to normal.

If long story short, it's a pretty serious battery level report bug somewhere in the drivers of power? Or is it a bad battery? (And if that were the case, why only Windows reports the State of the intermittent dangerously low battery, Lenovo Power Manager no?)

Just curious for some feedback, otherwise, I'll have to start RMAing parts, or even the entire machine. Of course, having Windows sometimes think that the battery is not about to die is not acceptable. Imagine if I was doing something critical and decides the computer "uh oh, battery low time.» close it as soon as possible! ».

Yes. Define your event of critical battery doing nothing. It is a workaround, but it is not too bad workaround.

  • Lock, sleep, put into hibernation? Definitions, please

I have waded through the help texts but is more confusion than assistance!  What exactly each of these terms, and what is the difference between them?

The scheduled tasks 'wake up' the computer if it is locked, asleep or hibernating?  If so, the computer takes over the State after the intended function?  No doubt the programs that were running when the computer is locked, put in sleep or hibernation are suspended while in one of those States - or are they?  And when or why a State should be used rather than the other?

    Hello

Not really as equivalent to read all the Shakespeare for the technology is "Google is your friend". Which
    of course still applies.

When a computer wakes it reruns not the startup folder - it only runs scheduled tasks, then
    fall back to sleep.

While you sleep, it will work only the tasks that have been set to Awake the computer. Scheduled tasks
but they are not set to wake the computer not to run.

Normally the computer goes to sleep after that a scheduled task is completed.

    Google is your friend :)

    Hello!

I used clocks on my computer for some time now. Since installing Windows 7, they fail every day because Windows will start in an inactive state.
I tried on my laptop power options, never placing dim/off/or sleep. I have also ensured that it was not updated Windows restart my computer while I was sleeping. There is no screen saver not enabled either.
Thank you very much for the help.

1 under the settings you mention, there is a button Advancedoptions.  A click on it.  You will see several sections.  Go to sleep & expand it.  Never Hibernate after value.

2 you seem to have already checked the screen saver - Control Panel, Customize, Screensaver [in the lower right corner of the window] - this must be set to none

  • Update LCD on T60 2008-CTO

    Hello everyone.

I'm trying to replace a screen LCD XGA on my T60 2008-CTO with a SXGA Panel + for more resolution.

According... http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62784 , the frame numbers match and that should be possible.

So I bought the said Panel of... http://www.ETech.com/item--NYK412-034 and it does not work properly.

For all connected, I get gradually melted into lines of colors on the screen.

If I disconnect and reconnect the control panel while the laptop is turned on, I get a very distorted picture and wrong dimension on it and change the resolution in windows changes the serious distortion a bit.

Could someone shine light on it?

Is that possible even exchange, or the resolution of the LCD permanently within the motherboard somehow?

I currently have a LTN141XA-L01 as my LCD XGA panel if it matters.

    Thanks in advance,

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes, you can upgrade your T60 a SXGA + Panel, however, I doubt that what you bought is a real issued by Lenovo LCD, plus probably a sign 'no brand generic but compatible with everything '.

There are a number of RUF on this 'new' LCD?

    Hello people,

you just bought a ThinkPad T60 opportunity. Unfortunately there is the problem: no sound!

Headphones work so I think that the sound card is fine. Tested the same operating system on the same laptop of a friend and his works.

So my question: is it interesting to swap the speakers? Is this possible?

    Thanks in advance!

"" I get a pair of extra for your model speaker if you are unable to find them, all I need to know is if you have a 14 ", 15" or 15.4 "model.

It is also possible that you have a bad motherboard or bad amplifier or it could even be the switch in the headphone jack that is designed to close the speakers when a plug is inserted. You can also have a software problem or a parameter. If you get a new pair of speakers, you can try to plug on the motherboard without installing, is above and to the left of the ram under the palm rest outlets. Even if you have speakers of any other series T60/T61 you might their connection for a test.

This problem occurs when the agent Windows Update Wups2.dll file is incorrectly registered in the registry. Because registry files that correspond to the Wups2.dll file are missing, update facilities have failed. REGSVR32 WUWEBV. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 JSCRIPT. DLL/S
    REGSVR32 MSXML3. DLL/S

    1. in Notepad, on the file menu, click on record under .

    2. in the list record under , click all files .

    3. in the file name box, type register.bat .

  • How well Windows 7 install and run on a T60 (2007)?

I plan to install Win 7 on my T60 and would like to know if it is a reasonable upgrade to do so. Are there drivers for important features, video chip etc. ? or is it not a problem. Anyone, who made the change and have all recognized and operating devices want to comment on your experience?

I looked through the drivers in the support section for the T60 this site and found no drivers for Windows 7. All the software that I currently work on the other Win 7 facilities but I have not tried on this unit.

    W7 works well on T60.

After a clean install, you will need to obtain the driver for Vista ATi, then proceed to Windows Update to pick up the rest of the drivers, most of them is readily available.

Stuff like shortcuts keyboard and Power Manager needs done manually, however.

What is the max I can get? What video card do I have?

I tried to search the site, but they have several options... built in / ATI

    Welcome to the forum!

Models from 195 x numbers have the Intel integrated graphics card, and majority (think 95%) of them came with a XGA (1024 x 768) resolution.

  • Recently unable to paste content into Gmail using Firefox...

As of last Thursday, I am unable to paste the vast majority of the content copied from the internet in the body of emails in my Gmail account. It is not exclusive to, but it always seems to be the case when you try to copy the contents of Google-related (search results), content of YouTube, pictures, etc..

I'm able to fulfil this function using Chrome, although for various reasons, Firefox is my favorite browser, and I would not in the shortest to alternate between the two. To my knowledge, no updates have been made which would correspond to, or be potentially responsible for this issue.

I've seen reported similar problems on other forums, but no more than current spending six months (they have not been reported recently or is a particular problem for me, it seems). In these forums, there are suggestions in how to edit scripts, but I would avoid as soon as if possible, because it is clear that it my cause my computer to become vulnerable to invasions of security.

Not that this question is not quite direct in my reports, although the screenshots accompanying illustrate my (1) copy of search results from Google and (2) a comparison between the results try to paste the same content in Chrome and Firefox.

[Change: images seem not properly downloading, but might not be essential...]

It is worth noting that it is the case that you use the menu drop down, the hotkeys (ctrl + C/ctrl + V) or the menu in the window...

We have isolated the culprit, it seems, and it's entirely to do with the setting in Firefox 35. I went back to the 34.0.5version, and all by copying and pasting the question are resolved...

I have for now decided to continue to run the previous version and disabled auto-updates; Maybe one of the developers out there will see this thread and address the issue, but in the meantime, I'll keep what functions best.

I humbly ask that anyone able to remedy in the updates of Firefox do. I've been quite almost about to interrupt the use of Firefox, which would be no big tragedy, although some is that 1 fix allows up to 1,000 users per day! so to is originally a problem worse until 1,000 users per day.

I fell in love with my new computer... in 8 hours about to get everything set up.

We were so good together. Then, I made the terrible mistake of sleep.

No chance of ever waking up.

I studied 4 years electrical and computer engineering for 1. I've never had a "computer problem".

I make my living on my computer and it is one of the worst things that can happen to me. I've already lost hundreds of dollars, not to mention the great for the lappy.

I've seen what seems like hundreds of other poster on this forum with the same problem and the only answer I've seen Lenovo was to correct some grammer guy and tell him don't not to curse. Hahahahaha!

I bought only from Lenovo for years today, including 3 for different customers.

Lenovo if you know about it why not tell people who buy not to go out to sleep as long as you fix?

Put your computer to sleep and turning in a brick should never be an option... but if it's say your amazing clients do not upgrade their computers to sleep!
