T60: disk and memory upgrade and OS reinstall
I have a T60 1951-CZ1, 2 GB of RAM, 100 GB HARD drive.
I need to upgrade the max memory as possible and replace with a 320 GB or 500 GB HD. What are the supported elements that I need to order?
Also I have to re-installed factory OS WIndows XP Professional. How to do this?
I've traveled a lot of messages and lenovo support pages, but I couldn't find a complete answer
Thanks in advance
After all, it's easy
I finally solved it
I bought the upgrade memory and a new drive
I ordered the 1 + 5 rescue & recovery and product recovery CD
I reinstalled the XP Professional factory (rescue and recovery disk is not explicit about the possibility to reinstall on a new drive, if the precedent was broken, but finally I found the way)
I did all the updates through microsoft software updates site
Thank you all for your suggestions which lead me to solutions

I'm upgrading of hard disks and need to reinstall my windows 7 Home premium, however the laptop I bought did not include an installation disc, which I was aware of, and now I'm not sure if the recovery disc will do what I need to do, ideas?
You should have the ability to create a recovery disk. Otherwise, you will need to use the following method to move it to a new hard drive:

Activate by phone
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html
Please note this step #9If the activation service informs you that she has failed and cannot help with activation, then STAY ON THE LINE and your call will be transferred to an operator of activation which will help you to activate your copy of Vista. The operator will give you all the numbers to ID of Confirmation if they accept that your copy of Vista is legitimate.
NOTE: The operator just explain your situation and what you did to require activation. (EX: hardware upgrade, installed Vista on a new computer after uninstalling it from the old one, etc...) -
So basically, I downloaded the ISO of Windows 10 file and installed using boot camp. During installation, I accidentally formatted the Mac OS partition and replaced with the windows one. Now, I'm trying to reinstall Mac OS using the internet retrieval feature. I partitioned a new D: drive named OSX, and there is no data on the disk. I then click on reinstall Mac OS. I try to select the disc of OSX I partitioned, but it says that the disk is locked. Anyone know how to unlock the drive or should I do something else?
Thank you very much
CJ
I think one of the problems might be that my Windows partition has replaced the C: drive where was the OSX partition. I tried to move the Windows operating system on a drive b or e :), but it won't let me. Let me know if this could be a problem too.

Free HP Win7 upgrade, lost disk and product key, do wat?
I would like to install the Win7 64 bit I got from HP through its free update of the vista program in 2009 on a new SSD for HP. However, I realized that since my computer came with vista, the product key vista stuck on the side of my computer probably isn't the right pair to install Win7 64-bit.
Is it possible for me to get the product key for Win7 64 bit HP? Thank you.
If you have lost the disk key and/or product... There is nothing that HP can do for you. The upgrade was administered by a third party, and it is likely that HP does not have this information.
If you have an active Windows 7 installation of this drive and key, you will be able to recover the key using a utility that can be found on the internet. Apart from that, really look hard for the disk and key.

Problem reinstalling Windows XP
I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP. After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation. He goes back and reinstall Windows again. I go through the installation of 39 minutes, the computer restarts to complete and it loops back and start the installation again. Why it does this and what I can do to move beyond this?
Go into the BIOS and make sure that you your hard drive is not set to off, and that is the first priority boot CD and your second HD.
Don't push when it restarts anything just to let him do what he does and report back if anything I'm sorry I have no idea.

My sisters thinkpad XP pro is unstable and it has lost its drive. I can reinstall using my xp pro disk and its product key?
I fixed it!
I couldn't work at all Internet Explore. I finally installed Superantispyware from a USB pendrive and it ran in safe mode without network. So I ran Malwarebytes and ccleaner. After a reboot, everything works great again. I could install Microsoft Security Essentials and get current updates. After a smart defrag it turns really well now.I was able to make a recovery cd set too. It will be just as good as if I he burned them on a new computer? I mean can the data used to make these CDs get corrupted over time? This laptop is 6 years old.Thank you for your willingness to help.MJ -

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I have recived portable computer of the Government with windows pre installed 7professional but now I want to format and reinstal it I require the startup disk and product key (my OS is authentic)
If it's a copy of volume license installed, you will need to contact your employer to find the product key and get the installation files.
If it is preinstalled at the factory with Windows 7 Professional, then use the recovery partition to reinstall Windows 7.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...
For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"
Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

My Windows 7 Professional Office system disk has been corrupted and I took the opportunity to install a SSD for a new system disk and reinstall Windows. The system is in place and running on the SSD, with my old drive system now used for storage as it is still readable. The only product Adobe, that I reinstalled so far is drive XI but I would like to reinstall items 8 and Acrobat 9 without occupying more licenses that both are also installed on my laptop. Can you tell me the best way to do it? -Thank you
If you have two activations allocated already and one was lost on the hard drive that has failed, then you must contact the Adobe Support via chat and ask them to reset your activations.

I installed my iMac (2009) in Yosemite. He is now on all fours. I intend to do a new installation of the operating system. This forces me to format the hard drive. I have already backed up my data. With further regard to CS 6 and Lightroom is the appropriate mechanism to disable the program and then reinstall it from my Adobe account? Any other input would be appreciated.
Yes, disable it before uninstalling.
to reinstall, you only need your serial number and installation files.

Hello
Have you tried to reinstall the hard drive if yes. Then the drive is bad & who has need of a replacement.
If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disc replaced.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.
