T61 14,1 "non - ws - nvidia fan/radiator replacement

Hello. My motherboard is dead (it used to be a motherboard intel), and I got a replacement nvidia card (Yes, I know about the problems with nvidia cards). However, I was not aware that the cooling unit is different, and since the change of the Web page, all I get when looking for hardware manuals, is "File not found".

So I was hoping someone could help me with a part number for a radiator to nvidia for the ratio of 4:3 14.1 ' T61.

Not a big screen, not a T61p.

Whaa! Sorry, I misread your post, you have the number for the fan of discrete graphics;

There are only two fans in this system, one for integrated and discrete.

If I have time I will download the manual in a place and send you a PM with the link, probably tonight.

  • Question on Pavilion g7 fan/radiator replacement

I have a HP Pavilion g7. It's a little more than 3 years now. The product number is XV343AV and the model number is g7t-1000. The fan was very loud and noisy for a while and I had the overheating computer once, but most of the time, it worked. However, yesterday my fan has stopped working. I intend to take my computer school and have their problems, but I need to order the parts for it.

Look for the pieces on the HP site tells me I can get a Module sinks - UMA HM55 with the number 637189-001 and Module ventilation with the number 639460-001 (and there is also the option of a thermal buffer kit).

My question is, should I buy the fan and the heat sink? Is one in another / they are not supposed to be linked together? What happens if I just replace the fan and not the radiator?

You can replace just the fan, but you must remove the Fan/Heatsink unit. It's pretty obvious, how once you get the device from the laptop. The radiator is a piece of metal and really can't fail. The fan is the part that fails. When you put everything back together make sure to use good thermal paste applied sparingly and properly.

  • T61p - on-site warranty just installed new fan/radiator - time of Nvidia went Up - help please

Someone please look at the pictures below, tell me if warranty Onsite installed the fan/radiator bad for one of my five T61p units earlier today that the Nvidia chip runs a good 15 ° C warmer than before (the other time watching normal using HWMonitor v1.17).   BTW, this chip from Nvidia is a good one dated 2010 (1043A 2) and came from a previous motherboard warranty Onsite replacement thanks to the Nvidia bumping because of the failure of materials (on a machine end July 2008 08/07, no less).

I have included photos of one of my other unit for comparison T61p fan/heatsinks (in August 2008 08/08 of the machine) and my other units from Nvidia are still with a tube of heat very different to running the Nvidia chip research more a heatsink very high above the Nvidia chip, which has a gray cushion vinyl top (see pictures).  Replacement of today appear that it may have an elbow in the naked heat tube running to the Nvidia chip.

The technology installed also wrongly a long live in the lower left corner of the processor heat sink... I found it when I went later to remove the KB and palm rest to see why the Nvidia chip ran more hot (because screw KB was previously a long screw, but it was released as a short screw, so I thought he put a long screw inside a place where it shouldn't be).   Fortunately, I found the corner of the CPU and the swap of screws but that has not solved the Nvidia chip running more hot.

Here is the part number of the thermal fan they sent him: 42W2823

Could this be a fan/radiator T61 Assembly which was sent to him by mistake? That would explain a lot and can easily be corrected by a return visit in the future.

    Thank you all.

I hope that your new technician solves this problem properly for you on Monday, and we look forward to a good report.

I am pleased to announce that people fine and courteous to the warranty Department Lenovo delivered the good fan/radiator directly to me on their own (apparently so I could check for my part it was OK), then a different tech called the same day, set up an appointment for Friday, August 3 between 12:00 and 17:00.  He showed up at 12:00 sharp, not less.

This second tech (of the same service contract company) was superb, and he even used a buffer of anti-static work! ... Unlike the first tech.

He also spent more time to ensure no damage has been done the first tech work and as I looked at the time after starting for a while (unlike the first tech who almost had a foot in the door before I could not even start until time to check).

So now my second (out of five) T61p units (unit very late July 08/07) runs once more in good time, after the good fan/radiator was installed.   The second tech stopped even without any complain for me to take a couple of pictures correctly targeted its current NVIDIA GPU... a GPU of 2010 with a 1043A 2 code a replacement motherboard Lenovo warranty in 2011 for my file date!

Thanks to Lenovo warranty Department and the 2nd technician for a job well done.

Comment to Moderator: Order number deleted to protect members of wrongdoing.

You simply replace the fan or the fan/radiator?

If you replaced 15.4 "heatsink with a widescreen 14.1" radiator you should have noted an obvious difference in the parties. I'm also curious to know if you have replaced the thermal paste on the CPU and the GPU chip?

    Hello

The air flow should move hot air away from the component and the tower.

A radiator in my example would be a radiator of CPU in a liquid cooling system. The radiator is at the back of the tower.

Your 1st method would push the hot air out of the tower.

This is the desired air flow to maintain the temperature of the ambient air as cool as possible case.

  • T61: cover and non-functioning lights switch problem

My T61 (type 6465) is coming for three years and has recently developed some minor but annoying flaws. The main problem is that the most reliable laptop will remain suspended: closing the lid does not have to be suspended in the first place and if I use Fn + F4 to suspend, it seems that clutching the back edge of the laptop (that you could do to pick it up and put it in a bag) cause him back on the suspension. Accordingly, I found the cell phone on when you remove it from my backpack, even if I was sure that I had hung before storing.

The other symptoms, is that some of the green lights have stopped working. Namely, the green lights of power, battery, caps lock num and caps lock seem to have stopped running, but wireless, hard drive and activity to suspend lights continues to work. In addition, the orange battery light works very well.

Other that the system continues to work perfectly: the battery is still good and maintain the load, the power supply charges the battery and powers the system properly. Power management applications show the correct information about the power status of the system (i.e. on current AC or battery-operated).

I try to work if this is likely to be a hardware failure or a software problem initially. Has anyone seem to similar symptoms, or may suggest that the problem could be based on my description?

    See you soon,.

    -Mark.

non-functioning lights is most likely a hardware problem.

  • Satellite A210-171 - clean the fan/radiator

I have a satellite A210-171. The fan runs strong at times, more heating and twice a day of closure, I guess I have to give it a good clean? It's anywhere, I looked I can't find instructions on how to clean my particular * do * and * model *.

I know that I can use an air can without starting to dismantle things, but I think he needs a little more to get my laptop to work like new. Any help telling me where to look would be greatly appreciated, I hope as well as some pictures of cell being dismantled (eyes rolling)

    Thank you

    Hey Gradma Sue,

Why you didn t use the forum search? You will find a sufficient number of threads on the cleaning of a Toshiba laptop.

You only need compressed air spray. With this, you can blow the dust from the cooling fans and it of quite easy to use.
I've created an interesting article from Toshiba that describes this step by step:

  • Pavilion dv7-4170eb radiator replacement

The module radiator & fan from my laptop died on me recently and I'll try and replace it myself. I was wondering if P/N 604787-001 is the correct reference to the radiator. I found the number in the maintenance and Service of Guide on page 94 (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02666747.pdf) and I just wanted to check if it was OK.

Hello boeyaa. I had problems to view your link service guide. So, I went directly to the site of manuals and checked. Here is my link. On page 94, it shows this.

Then, I had a look at the features of your product.  You can view these here.  This page shows that your laptop is the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.  So, you don't have the part number 604787-001.  Here is a link to the HP part Surfer page for this part number; You should be able to order it here.

I hope this information is helpful; have a great day!

  • Is it possible to adjust the CPU fan after replacing the CPU - Satellite L35 - S21?

I have a Toshiba Satellite L35-S2161. It was initially equipped with a Celeron M 410. Last weekend, I replaced the Celeron with a Pentium Core Duo T2250. Everything works fine. Now, both the Celeron and Pentium seem to run a bit hot.

The beach of temp for both are exactly the same. Honer time between Celcius 55 to 62 degrees Celsius.

Is it possible to set the fan to maintain a temperature between 50 to 55 degrees? If so, how?

    Check this http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ7A01ZW0007R01.htm

-It is uncertain whether the new processor is compatible to the system board. Integrated chipsets can take charge of their technical specifications a wide range of processors, but this does not mean that all types of CPU can be used in a mobile system for * integrated cooling systems are designed individually for each set of model in order to ensure the optimal functioning of the machine *. An incorrect CPU can cause the system to overheat and damage the internal system components.

-In most cases, the BIOS does not work with the replaced CPU which causes a malfunction of the machine. The BIOS needs to be rewritten after each Exchange of a CPU that can only be done by an authorized Toshiba service partner.

  • Broken fan and replace it?

Hello, I have a laptop HP DM4-1160 (less than 1 year) and two days ago my fan began to be extremely strong. It's clearly something wrong with it.

I was wondering if it is possible to open the computer and check the fan (or if there is another way), or if I should be on the right side and send it to HP and allow you to handle? Warranty is still valid, it is certainly an option.

I suggest to go with the option of warranty service that the fan is not listed as a customer replaceable part.

  • Pavilion g6 - 2240sa fan needs replaced or it will be cheaper to replace the laptop?

My HP Pavilion g6 - computer fan portable 2240sa just stopped working? No warning strggeling or noise? He just stopped. You can buy a new one for a tenner, but to fix it myself that I had to disassemble the mobile complete to access (not sure about the tent) but the only place where ever I can find to be considered for repair is PC World (probably safe to give to a child) and his £50 to tell me what I know While they charge to send him off, then reload on the sides for a part and put it in.

It is worth when it may be overheating of CPU and ram also damage?

When I pick up a new laptop for £450?

I think it's probably that the printing if you do it yourself.

    Here is the Manual:

    Repair manuals

As you noted here is the part for a little more than a tenner:

If you invest 11 books and one or two hours. It is very unlikely, there's no additional damage and a new fan should put right.
