T61 LCD issue

I suggest you download the HMM (the hardware maintenance manual) for your laptop. Not sure about your T61, I know that the T530 has a separate cable. I had a failure in a similar way as the description of your problem on my mother in law T530. I bought Qty 4 T530 of last year and was the only one to fail during the warranty. Lenovo has replaced the LCD and card system twice under warranty and that did not fix the problem. It was the cable. I usually buy used and tested good parts from sources other than Lenovo. More recently, I bought a DVD player for a T42 for $7.99 free shipping off eBay.

  • Lenovo T410s LCD issue

I have a problem with my LCD on Lenovo T410s. Everyting worked good so far. Today, I wanted to check another LCD for this model that I've got. So I dicsonected the LCD original and connected to another to check. After having seen that the other has worked well, I disconnected it. Then I reconnected the original and the laptop. Unfortunately, when he started, the screen has no shining good – it is very dark. I disconnected that and back I tried the second LCD, but here again the other shined very bad. Can someone tell me what could happen? It seems that the inverter is damaged, but I don't know where is that within this model. Please give me some advice

My guess is that you skipped a fuse on the motherboard.

There is no converter as such since it's led lighting panels.

    Good luck.

  • T61 upgrade issues with T9300 cpu

    Hi all

    I have a T61 (7659) with a T7300 cpu and m/b No. 41W1487. Can I switch to a T9300 processor, using a connected bios?

I tried once, but the computer is unstable. I suspect the second-hand T9300, I received is damaged.

All m/bs Merom can * unofficially * accept the Penryn processors, with the exception of the BIOS boot message?

    Thank you very much.

    Welcome to the forum!

I have installed T9300/9500 processors tips T61 with modded BIOS and have never encountered a problem. YMMV.

Your likely culprit is the CPU.

    Hi Tracey,

    1. What is the default DPI that you use on Windows 7?

2 are you referring to external screen LCD monitor or laptop LCD?

    3. What is the resolution of the screen on the computer?

There are several reasons why view on Windows 7 may not work correctly. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

    Method 1:

Windows uses a technology called ClearType to create more readable on the screen text. On some monitors, you might want to turn ClearType on or off, or need to adjust it. For more information on the start-up and adjustment of ClearType, I suggest you to refer to these Microsoft article and check if it helps:

Make the text easier to read using ClearType

    ClearType: Frequently asked questions

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/ClearType-frequently-asked-questions

    Method 2:

If the problem persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the latest graphics card drivers and check if it helps:

    http://www.Dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/product/Inspiron-15R-5520

Also, see this Microsoft article and check if that helps:

  • Satellite P30 - screen got vertical stripes

    Hello!

    Two problems:

    1. my Satellite P30 becomes a little old (bought in 2005), I know, but it works really well - a few hiccups of course.
However, the lines of different colors appear vertically on the screen. It started with a single line of a few months ago and right there are now seven (10 at the most).
The odd bit is that they appear, disappear, and reappear - some more often than others.
I find it quite strange, and I wonder if the problem is the screen itself or if it is a motherboard / other hardware or a software problem.

    2. commissioning is slow lane. Suddenly, there is (before tha line problem described above) about four months something has changed in the startup routine.
Before, when the "Welcome" message was shown, the screen became blavk for a second, and office appeared with the bar of tasks and shortcuts emediately. As usual.
But some time back the time according to 'Welcome' to the desktop was OK, changed its jst a fww seconds to THREE minutes! I checked my pc for all known problems, but nothing! What is going on? The image of the desktop appears, and then three minutes before the taskbar and icons appear.

    Can someone help me?

Best regards, Lars of the Norway

    (1) what are the lines? If these are lines of pixels, and the lines are spaced randomly, its most likely a LCD issue.

    (2) download and run BootVis. This small utility from Microsoft saves driver delays and other things during the startup.

  • Green vertical line on monitor on Satellite A80

    I have a SA 80 127. Is it 1.5 years.
Recently, a bright green vertical line appears on my monitor; Looks like a LCD issue.
Does anyone have clues that I have to do?
    Thank you...

To be 100% sure test with external monitor. If this line is displayed on LCD only you should contact the service in your country. If the display is faulty, it should be replaced.
    The warranty is still valid?

  • So my T400 might have exhausted all 9 lives...

A month ago, I tried to fix the lock on my T400; the left side closed automatically once the lid closed. In the middle of disassembly, I forgot which screws to take off. I went home with my screwdriver and eventually remove the screws for the rails of the LCD in place now. Ultimately, it happened that the Panel broke the lid and faceplanted on the keyboard. Reassembly, I discovered to my dismay that the backlight didn't; There was no visible light emanating from it, even if the image was perfectly fine.

At first, I thought it was the LCD issue and having ordered and replaced the Panel without result (no backlight, visible image), I noticed that the connector 40pin for the LCD cable has been damaged (angle and two missing pins). So I ordered a piece of replacement of parts of IBM in Toronto.

The new cable came, and much to my displeasure, seemed to be the right size for my T400 despite all the required documents. However, I installed the new cable and a new LCD Panel. Still nothing; no backlight, just an image.

From there, looks like the problem is with the motherboard, power supply to the lighting parts; everything else works great, I used it for the past month, hooked up to an external monitor.

So my question is: what are the chances of that third-party motherboard repair shops (repair, not replace) will be able to fix the problem?

(Also, if spare parts IBM sent me my T400 properly installed or do I have to take issue with them?)

Ultimately, it discovered that the motherboard was damaged as well as the LCD screen. Because I was out of warranty, I opted for the motherboard repaired rather than replaced and put in the LG Panel I bought after walking.

However, I noticed that they do not have the original live back in many places, what irks me a little.

As a side note, I think I preferred the Samsung on the LG screen it is more difficult to calibrate and whites are indeed less white than on the Samsung.

    Thank you!

    5 description:

A yellow line appears when I turn on the PC (most recently the case today).  The line appears on the chest and OS splash pages and above all content Office happens to be located underneath.  It extends to full height and is about 70 to 80 pixels from the right edge of the screen.  It seems to be 1 pixel wide - it is the same width as the lines in the box blue lassoo I get by clicking and dragging through the office.

Because I have not seen this line interact with the operating system or application software, and it is in front of all the information are displayed, I'm guessing that it's a hardware problem on the LCD screen.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

Quick update to the original poster:

I have discussed this with the HP technical support and they had me check that the line of pixels is in the BIOS screen as well.  It is as I suspected there is a LCD issue.  I can post the PC to get a new LCD in there.  You wonder why they can't replace it on the site (which I paid for).  Time to back up the hard drive...

  • Replacement LCD for T61 options

    Hello Lenovo community,

The first post, but several times here.

I have a backlight bulb which is grilled (literally blackened at the end). I got my whole screen replaced 4 months ago so first guess (because it was easy & cheap) it was just the inverter card, but no. Because it was the holidays, I dropped the laptop with a tech who said that he order a bulb and just replace it. I had the computer laptop back today (9 days later) and technology, said the bulb was bad - just 1/2 of the screen lights up :-(. Because I need files on the computer for work, I found a cable and a monitor cheap on craigslist and am happily working at home on my T61 - via and very nice, very large external monitor.

I would replace my laptop screen so I can be mobile again, but I can't find what I think it's the correct LCD on the agenda. I have a T61-7662CTO.   My original receipt shows the screen being 42 x 1670, but that doesn't seem like a number that relates to the FRU part to order a replacement.  I downloaded the manual and there were 7 FRU (and AUO, 3 LGs, Samsung 3) listed. Are some of these 7 compatible with my T61? And is there one out there that is 'better' and by better, I mean more sustainable.  I have to say that I love my Lenovo, in part b/c looks like a beast that is outdated, it's perfect, but I abuse outside the field (for going on 4 years now) and it just continues to run.    I would also say in my life - commitment live a little lighter on the Earth, I don't want to buy a new laptop for Aspire as I can keep replacement/upgrade parts in this little lady.

Someone knows about the replacement screen for this machine, and better yet, does anyone have one around the pose I could buy and recycle in this T61?

A big thank you in advance, community,

    Sharon

p.s. I also live and work in the middle of nowhere, it's often faster to me repair my own property, so I do this project at home...

BTW, a search on the serial number you posted shows that your system came with FRU # 42 T 0410. In my opinion, it's the base, not the wxga WXGA screen + optional, but either will work.

Also, to echo what I said you private, used a good cover for this model would sell for $50-100, depending on the model and replacement of the status screen, which is cheaper, easier, and probably more reliable then your typical generic LCD which (as you discovered), often are not the same quality as the originals...

I would also add that your system seems to have the optional T9300 Penryn CPU, making it a very nice system... several of them have a cpu of myself and really worth to fix it.

    Hello

  • Issue of Satellite A100 - 159 LCD - Photo cut into horizontal pieces

    Hello

For three days I have very strange problems with the LCD screen on my laptop. Imagine the normal image, cut it into horizontal pieces and place pieces randomly above the other.
This 'strange' combination vertical rolls on the screen. A few minutes later, he stops and the screen shows me a gradient of one color.

With a keyboard shortcut, the laptop is on stand-by. With the power on button, the laptop leaves Eve and the screen working again normally.

It happens once or twice a day...

An external screen works normal, while the LCD is weird, so I guess there is no problem with the graphics card. Can someone explain this strange behavior?

One last thing, this laptop 13 months now, so I guarantee expired :-(.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jochen

(PS English is not my native language, I apologize for the errors and I still think that Toshiba is the best :-)

    Hello Jochen

According to your explanation of the problem it is probably problem with graphics card. Please understand that simply test with special tools can give you a definitive answer. I don't really know what is the best solution.

Try to speak with service and ask how much laptop repair cost.

  • Satellite A205 - LCD backlight issue

My laptop LCD screen backlight seems well until recently have been the subject of a cutting.
Every few minutes (though sometimes if I leave it alone, it stays on for a long time) the light goes out leaving just a small picture of what I was doing on my computer.

Now, the real part of the confusion was that it seemed to bounce off if I opened and closed the lid several times, or sometimes when I had just long enough for windows to lock the power button.

I have advanced and swapped for another inverter and the problem has diminished in many times it took place, but it is always the case... So, I'm totally at a loss for what it could be.

Any suggestion or ideas would be appreciated! Thank you.

    Hello

You have replaced the FL inverter, and always seems to this question?
This strange because in my opinion, this sounds like a FL inverter and new s FL inverter malfunction should solve this problem!

Maybe it's a display of s. problem could also be possible.

However, I think you should check the inverter fl again...

PS: have you tried to change the brightness by using the FN + F7 (increase) or (decrease) FN + F6?
    Check it!

    Is WXGA with resolution 1400 * 1050?

    No, wxga is usually 1280 x 800, or in some cases, 1280 x 768

    WXGA + usually is 1440 x 900

SXGA + is 1400 x 1050, which is not a resolution of the screen as the foregoing therefore not 'W '.
