T9400 vs i5 - 520M vs. i5 - 540M

Hi all

We bought the T400 (2767-R3U) which has Intel T9400 processor 2.53GHz. Now we are about to choose a T410 model. However there is a debate here at my company on how the 2.53GHz processor T9400 compared to the new i5 - 520 M 2.40 GHz processor.

One camp says that we are choosing i5 - 520 M, because, despite the number of GHz, it is really faster than the old T9400.

The other camp says that he must go with the i5 - 540 M 2 .53GHz fastest processor, because that would be the same as the T9400.

If any of you guys know the difference between these three processors, or where I can find a comparison?

T9400 = 2.53 GHz
i5 - 520 M 2.40 GHz (but is more recent and might actually be faster than T9400)
i5 - 540 M 2.53 GHz =

Thanks in advance.

  • G60-458DX laptop: is my G60 - 458DX Notebook PC capable of using the lntel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 CPU?

I am able to use the processor intel core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz CPU in my G60-458DX laptop? The vehicle currently has the Pentium Dual Core T9200 @ 2.00GHz with 4 GHz Ram and I am using windows 7 64 bit OS. The man at the shop said only it wouldn't fit, he really tried. I watched several videos on how to replace the processor and it seems relatively easy. • T510 + i5 540M = terrible screeching noise!

I know that there are at least two discussions related to this problem, but I couldn't find one with T510.

So, in short, I was having my T510 for about 3 weeks now and since his arrival he has this problem, a sound terrible high pitch from side left/top of the laptop, processor, or something close to it.

A temporary solution for me was to low processor speed in the Power Manager (Low selected as the maximum CPU speed), that apparently reduces tension so. If it is greater than 0.9375V, the noise is back.

THE noise is constant if I select the highest speed of the CPU of the Power Manager (voltage is 1.075), and it is intermintent when I select adaptive (voltage jumps from 0.9735V to 1.075V)

-No, this isn't fan (I'm really frustrated when someone asks if)

-It is not the power adapter (I tried one of my T61)

-It is not CPU idle-ing or sleep state

Looks like I'm not the only one having the same problem, on the notebookcheck.com there are at least two users having the same problem.

Ideas, advice? I can't imagine what THIS quality control at all?

    Thank you.

  • HP8540w (540M) upgrade ram, won't boot past the BIOS

I have recently acquired new RAM. First it was 2 x 8 gb but I discovered later that this is not supported by my specific model.

But now I switched it with 2 x 4 GB PC12800 CL11, a newer HP model and it still does not start after the BIOS, which has been upgraded to the latest version.

The Bios recognizes the RAM perfectly, but still it does not start in windows. When I see the windows logo 8.1 it gives a sudden stop, followed by a reboot. In theory, the pc12800 should work, although clocked up 10600 to match the motherboard & CPU.

It feels inadequate to have a portable 3 year old who is not able to exceed the 4 GB, especially because I bought it because it is the version elitebook and classified military. I wanted to have something future proof, not a machine that needs to be replaced after 3 years. It feels like just threw $ 150 per window.

So I hope that there is another solution that I might have overlooked.

Well recommended memory is PC3-10600 DDR3-1333 aka. On some models, it actually downclocks to DDR3-1066 speed. I think that the memory you installed from a newer model is not compatible. If this is the DDR3-1600, it might even be memory low voltage which is almost certainly not not working.

    Help!

    Hello

Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

(If you use it, switch to the default theme).

    • You can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.

Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.

    Thank you.

I mean that the laptop supports the processor T9400 processor Intel® Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 9700 M GTS of graphics card.

    the chipset supports the:

Intel® Core 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53 GHz, front side bus at 1066 MHz, 6 MB Cache)

    Processor Intel® Celeron® 925 (2.30 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, 1 MB Cache)

To be honest I'm not quite sure if all these processors would be compatible because of the BIOS, but if the new processor is supported by the chipset, but chances are not too 'bad '.
However, it is just a theory and everything you do, is at your own risk.
