Tabs will not close. I click on the close box and Ctrl/W and Firefox jumps to the next tab, but the tabs are open. Not only that, they duplicate. I tried several times to close tabs, and have several copies of each step open - more than 50 tablets. I closed and reopened Firefox and they all open again. How can I get them to close.

  • Multiple tabs open when I clik a link to a new tab. Then, do not open or even appear when I try to close with "close all tabs"... they are like "ghost tabs.

It spent last few days... the tabs are displayed on the tab bar, but do not open upward or close when I try to close... when I tried "close all tabs", who says so "you try to close the 2 tabs", they are not counted as being open... the only way I can get rid of them is Firefox is completely closed and then it starts again. Ghost tabs!

I solved the problem, but not using the "safe mode".
    After going into safe mode and close and open FF again;
I then had to dl the latest version of FFox... 33.0 (I had 32.0) online, a friend told me there was an update for it... found 33.0.1.i and dl who had, then restarted my computer.
I found that the new version had removed many of my fave on my 'personal bar '... icons I have them back by going to this:
'Classic theme restaurateur' found in 'modules '.
I didn't add "colorful tabs" again...

In addition, an easy solution... my mousepad has been 'sticky'... by removing just, my mouse works much better on my desk...

now, everything is back to normal... no pop up several tabs, even in typing emails is better now as well.

When I have 2 or more tabs open in my browser I want to close Firefox and save the tabs so when I open it again the sites will return. Use to do this, but something needs to happen. begin to close, now it asks me if I want to save sites

If you still want to open the sites that you opened before, in the Options dialog box, go to the general Panel and make sure that the parameter 'When Firefox starts' is set to ' show my windows and tabs from last time '. You will not be asked to save the tabs because they are automatically registered.

If it is set to one, but sites do not open when you start Firefox, open your profile folder and delete sessionstore.js and if there are sessionstore.bak. • If I leave tabs open when I close Firefox then shut down PC, are the tabs available to hackers?

I did not have this problem but someone at work warned me not to leave the tabs open when I stopped because the tabs open when the browser opens again... which is what I want, but she explained that open the tabs without having to re-enter passwords, so even if the PC is off hackers can get into the tabs already protected by. It makes no sense to me, but she is adamant, saying his bank account was wiped out because she didn't close her bank tab on its browser when the computer is shut down.

If your computer is turned off, it cannot be hacked. In addition, you can set your preferences to not save passwords if you wish. But no, if your computer is turned off are not accessible (for obvious reasons). For better security, you can use a master password in Firefox or put a password on your PC if someone turns on it back, they need to put a password. Use a master password to protect stored logins and passwords

  • I am no longer able to synchronize my favorites because they duplicate continuously.

I am running Firefox with Sync on 3 different machines. No longer can I synchronize my favorites because they duplicate continuously. It has gotten to the point where my browser was unusable. I already reinstalled on machines with a fresh profile and thought I'd be OK synchronize my bookmarks once again, but when I logged in this morning my favorites were duplicated again, at least 3 times. Fortunately this time I was able to delete bookmarks sync and delete the extras without having to blow up, but I would really like to be able to keep my favorites synced again.

Please do not use iCloud [or any other 'sync' - type service] for bookmarks, as well as using Sync. Known to cause compatibility problems and will solve nothing. It is only likely to exacerbate the problem.

To start from scratch on all devices and do not erase data corrupted since the right synchronization server "synchronizes" data corrupted for all your devices everywhere again. The underlying cause must be fixed.

To correct this situation. 1 turn off sync on all devices until all devices are fixed. 2. run Places maintenance on all devices, to make a correction to the database of places of each device, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/ 3. Change your password for the account of Firefox (sync) to clear corrupted since the synchronization server data. 4. then connect the first device "desktop" on the sync server and leave the device to stay in touch with synchronization for an extended period (IOW, keep Firefox on this device running for a long time). 5. the next connect the device "Office" 2nd timing and let a performer for an extended period. Make sure that your bookmarks are synchronize correctly and you're not losing any of them or see them getting damaged in any way prior to additional devices.

  • When I have 4 or 5 tabs open, by selecting one of them often force this tab to open in a new window and close the original window

FF 32.0.1. Move between the tabs that are already open, clicking on which I opened before forced to close and open in a new window, which is a real pain. It seems to happen when I have 4 or 5 tabs open, rather than 2 or 3.

Only, this happened last week, once reinstalled a clean Windows.

I searched and found a lot of people have problems with the new windows that open when they want just a new tab, but this seems to be on the opening of the fresh rather than return to already open tabs, so I can't find the same problem I describe.

This can happen if you drag a tab slightly downwards in the browser window by clicking.

Firefox has a feature called tabs
You can detach a tab in the current window and open in a new window by dragging a tab in the browser window.
You can also do this via the context menu of a tab: switch to the new window
You can drag the tab to the tab bar in the original window to cancel this detachment.
