takes 10 days to get the CD disk to try 2times a day, why?

Whenever I have reason to put a cd in the drive it takes so many days out back I just try every time I go to the line, it's very frustrating please help as I live a great distance from pc shops.

Hello abdelkader Maclean.

There is a possibility that the CD is really defective. The only way you learn is to have CD-ROM checked by a technician. Under normal circumstances, simply by pressing the button on the front of the CD, should eject the CD. because that is not the case there is a chance that there is a fault that needs to look. Of course, the CD/DVD-ROM are relatively expensive nowadays and, as long as you know what you're doing, are fairly easy to install yourself.

Rather than wait 10 days for the drive to finally eject it would be preferable to use the option described by dax1792 using a paper click to trigger the mecahnism ejection. Once you have inserted the paper clicp in the hole it takes a little pressure clip to trigger the mechanism and force the draw to the fate.

    Hello

What is the exact error message received when the problem occurs?

    Methood 1:

Auditor of file system (CFS) scan to fix all of the corrupted system files. To do this, follow the steps in the following link:

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

You can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if the problem persists, see the link:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: See step 7; Reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting is performed.

    Method 3:

You can temporarily disable the security software and check if the problem occurs. Check out the following link to do the same thing:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Microsoft does not disks for computers manufactured OEM.

This is for Acer to do, if they still have any available.

As you never have a disc, you must have a recovery Partition to reinstall the operating system.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

  • try to get the Boot Disk Defragmenter.

I begin of choice of tools system Disc Defrag regularly or to administer mode get User Account Control nothings happens.  I tried my right click computer properties, tools, defragment and once again nothing. Family Vista premium, all updates are current and all drivers are up to date. There is a new recall defrag was working fine before the update of windows. Updated driver occurred after problems to start defragmentation.

Windows disk defragmentation must be performed by calendar. You shouldn't have to run it manually, not to mention that it takes forever to complete if you run manually.
Once fixed, the Windows Disk Defragmenter is designed to run silently in full. You won't see her progress.
Here is a tutorial to show how your disk defrag schedule.

If you're dead set to run manually and monitor progress, I recommend Augslogics.
It allows you to decide which drive to defragment.
It shows you the process, "play by play".
It gives you a summary report.

  • How to get the maximum disk size for a powershell prompt

    Hi guys

I tried all day to get the value of the maximum disk size allocated to a virtual machine. Using get - view I can see the actual size of disc but when I look at VM via 'Edit Machine' I see ' hard disk 1' ability to 40 GB and and size maximum (GB) to 97.5 - How do I get this maximum size via powershell?

    See you soon

    Sparky

Near there, it is actually the amount of free space on the data store over the current size of the hard drive.

With this script, you can calculate the value

    foreach($dev in (Get-VM  | Get-View).Config.Hardware.Device){
      if($dev.DeviceInfo.Label -like "Hard Disk*"){
        $dsFree = (Get-Datastore (Get-View -Id $dev.Backing.Datastore).Info.Name).FreeSpaceMB
         $diskSize = ($dev.CapacityInKB / 1Kb)
         $MaxSize = $dsFree + $diskSize
         Write-Host "Maximum size for" $dev.DeviceInfo.Label "=" ("{0:f2}" -f (($dsFree + $disksize)/ 1Kb)) "Gb"
      }
    }

  • Re: Satellite M100-164 - how to get the recovery disk?

Hi, I have a used Satellite M100-164. (short only model no psma0e)

Its a M100 changed for the Middle East market as well far as I can tell its basically the same as the European models of M100, except with a smaller hard drive.

I bought it in a store of play (Computer Exchange in London), but it did not come with a recovery disk.

Also, I was a little too active pro removing unwanted software of the machine, so I have not installed the Toshiba tools that would be able to create a recovery disk.

Now I need one because I want to install a bigger hard drive and then re - build the operating system (which is XP)

    * So my question is, where and how do I get a recovery for this notebook drive? *

I tried to use https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu, but it did not work because the serial number was not recognized (probably because it is a region of the Middle East series no)

is there another way to get the Toshiba recovery disks? I'm happy to pay a little for one.

    Hello

In most cases it is possible to get the EPA recovery disc in your country.
But this is not always possible if the laptop model is too old or abandoned.

Therefore, get in touch with the ASP guy and ask for more details.
Maybe you are a lucky man and could get this disc.

If you will not get this disc, you will need to install the OS by using the MS XP disk.
Pilots must be placed on the page of Toshiba Europe!

    Hello

I m not very good if you want to be able to order the recovery for this unit disc, because in very rare cases, the recovery disc may be pronounced if the laptop model is too old.

So I hope that you can order it here:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

You can also try to contact the ASP in your country and ask the guy if he could order the Toshiba disk directly

  • How to restore the Satellite L25 - where to get the recovery disk

    Hello..

I tried to format my hard drive on my laptop L25, which currently has Win XP, but don't know that if I ever had a CD/DVD of recovery of the person I bought it from.

Does anyone know if this laptop (L25-s1192) contains a picture of the recovery diskette or if I can get a drive recovery somewhere or any other way to format the drive and reinstall the original content of the laptop?

Would appreciate if you could answer.
    Thank you... Amare

    Hello

Usually, the old series from Toshiba was equipped with the recovery disk and the image of Toshiba on the recovery cd.
If you have a recovery disc, then you will have to boot from that disk to start the recovery procedure.

If you don t have a recovery disk, then you can use a clean Microsoft Windows XP CD to reinstall the operating system and the necessary drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page we.
It is a portable American and you need to find US page for drivers.

  • Where to get the recovery disks?

    So I kinda messed up...

I wanted to see if a clean install would be better than the standard configuration on my E420s. I thought I could do a factory reset of the disc "Lenovo_Recovery." But it seems that I should have burned the recovery discs until I formatted my E420s.

I don't quite know what to do now. Can I get the Lenovo recovery discs? Or in the store where I bought my laptop?

Never mind. Thanks for the help Maliha

I called Lenovo and I am very impressed with their support. They were very friendly and they send me FREE recovery disks. Awesome
