  I have upgraded to Windows 8 and boy that I came across several problems...  The only problem I have most pressing difficulty is my multifunction printer/scanner/fax X Lexmark 6100 series. I have no driver for it.  Lexmark said Microsoft should have one for her, but Microsoft 8 can't find it.  Any suggestions?

  The latest Lexmark driver released for the X 6100 series is for Windows Vista.  It looks like the same old story - the manufacturer of the printer refuses to update its drivers so that they can go wrong in buying a new printer.

  For the same reason, "Universal printer drivers" Lexmark do not work for these no more.

  I do not speak for Microsoft. However, I saw many times when working with clients in your situation with regard to the reactivation of windows because of the failure of a component. They are not, however, responsible for providing you with a windows disc that should be provided by your computer manufacturer. However, if I were you, I would ask to borrow a disc of windows of a friend or a neighbour then contact Microsoft for activation, making sure to explain the circumstances surrounding the re-setup.
