Tap three fingers yoga 900

Hi, I am trying to get the tap three fingers on my 900 Yoga to simulate the middle button of the mouse. I tried a bunch of registry settings, but none have worked. Anyone here have an idea what I could do? Currently, the water from the tap three fingers called cortana, something I don't need or use. Thank you!

I found the solution.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\TouchPadRMIHID2cTM3066\3FingerTapAction the value 4

Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\TouchPadRMIHID2cTM3066\3FingerTapPlugInID to white (empty string)

Highlight the word, right-click on it and select "search... "with the white line that represents all that is the word.  It will pull up from the definition in the dictionary.

  • get tap three fingers does not work in 'Preview '.

    Hello

After switching to macOS Sierra, the "Search with three finger tap" (to borrow the dictionary) does not work in Preview (but works fine in Safari, iBook etc.).

Is there anyone face the same problem?

    My machine is-

    MacBook Pro (retina, 13-inch, mid-2014), processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 memory.

Previously the Trackpad settings were also Visual presentations (such as the use of the fingers and hands) to show how a specific parameter. But in macOS Sierra Visual presentation has disappeared and there is a still image (showing a boy eating something while standing in a relaxed) on all parameters, for example:

Is there anyone facing this problem too?

I'm having the same problem. Thought it was a bug. Restarted my Mac, nothing. I do not know  will solve this problem with its next update.

It was just beautiful in yosemite please give a solution.

Please read this message before doing anything.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.

    Step 1

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is localized to your user account.

Select the feedback connections* and log in as a guest. Do not use the Safari connection only 'user comments' created by 'find my Mac '.

While signed in as a guest, you will have access to your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you use them for the first time. Do not be alarmed by this behavior; It's normal. If you need any password or other personal information in order to complete the test, save, print, or write them before you start.

Test while signed in as a guest. You have to re-create your trackpad settings. Same problem?

After testing, log on to the guest account and in your own account, disable it if you wish. The files that you created in the guest account will be automatically deleted when you log out of it.

    * Note: If you have enabled 'find my Mac' or FileVault, then you cannot activate the guest account. The login 'User comments' created by 'Find my Mac' is not the same. Create a new account to test and delete it, including his home folder, after testing.

    Step 2

The goal of this step is to determine if the problem is caused by changes in the system of third party that load automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.

Please take this step regardless of the results of step 1.

Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.

The login screen is displayed even if you normally connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.

Test in safe mode. Same problem?

After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Problems with three fingers looking for preview

    Hi all

So I've upgraded to Mac OS Sierra the other night and it was absolutely great so far. However, there is a feature I noticed is either absent, either turned somewhere off the coast, and it is three fingers look upward in the preview. I'm at school and do a lot of my reading on a PDF in preview, and yes I just came across a few words that I don't know the definitions to. In the past, three fingers look has been one of the best features for its quick access to definitions. This is something I really miss and hope that it will be always possible somehow.

Now, I noticed that it only worked in other applications as well, I went to settings and looked for the feature. I was able to find it in the settings of the Trackpad and he turned his back. That seems to have worked for just about every other app except Preview. If anyone has solutions to this problem, I'm all ears!

    Thanks in advance guys!

It works for me in preview. However, it took several 3 finger taps to finally get the context menu with 'Look Up' inside to provide the result below.

  • Activate both drag the lock and drag three fingers

I tried to activate the TWO drag the lock AND three sliding your finger on my new MacBook Air shape some time and have not been able to do.

I have an older MacBook Air and an older iMac and on these two computers, it works (it didn't come pre-loaded with El Capitan, they have been 'improved' to El Capitan).  On both I can drag a window using both drag lock AND drag three fingers.  However, I am unable to do it on this new computer.   Is the any way to implement?

    Any ideas?

    Hi Joel,

Options to drag in El Capitan are discussed in this resource:

OS X El Capitan: mouse & Trackpad pane accessibility preferences
    https://support.Apple.com/kb/PH21509?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

    The trackpad options

    Allow drag

Check the box to be able to drag items.

To set sliding options, click on the context menu, and then choose an option:

without slide-Lock: double-tap an item, and drag it without lifting the finger after the second tap. dragging stops immediately when you remove your finger.

Drag lock: double-tap an item, and drag it without lifting the finger after the second tap. dragging continues when you remove your finger and stops only when you type once the trackpad.

three fingers slide: move an element with three fingers. dragging stops immediately when you lift your fingers.

    Take care

  • Freezing of cursor yoga 900

    Hi all

I have a new Yoga 900 and as I'm browsing in the screen, the mouse cursor will sometimes just stop moving. Right click on two fingers and two fingers scrolling still work very well, like the touch screen, but the trackpad itself does not have to move the cursor. If I wait about five seconds and restart my finger on the trackpad, the thing will come back to life and work for maybe another 45 seconds or more. Someone knows how to fix this? I adjusted the settings on the Synaptics touchpad several times, without success.

    Thank you!

Yes, I could enter and update drivers, it just took me a while to find the right way to do it. Thing works fine now

  • gesture trackpad of three fingers to select text does not work on the sierra

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, mid-2014 retina). After upgrade to sierra trackpad gesture to select text using three fingers does not work. Instead, I saw that now a press and hold your finger and drag to select the text, it's very painful and does not work perfectly as three fingers gesture.

If by mistake the press with a single finger is lost text selection stop there and have to start over and it also causes mild pain if the selection is long.

Please let me know if anyone knows how to get the text selection gesture three fingers in sierra.

After the macOS Sierra update, I somehow can not activate this three finger drag more: I tried multiple combination: activation and reactivation of the finger three, activation and reactivation of the research, restart my MacBook Pro and nothing happens. • Three fingers slip missing?

Updated for Sierra last night. Apart from duty uncheck and recheck some of the scrolling options in trackpad preferences, everything seems to have gone smoothly. With one exception - three fingers slip is no longer works. I had gotten really used to not having to actually on the trackpad almost never. The possibility to activate the slide three fingers seems even to be there. I forgot something, or I'll have to install BetterTouchTool on this MBP?

  • Three fingers slip into El Capitan 10.11.6

    Hello

I lose my mind because whenever I've never set up a new Mac, one of the first settings I have tweak is on the trackpad. Normally, I use all the trackpad shortcuts and customize a bit far from default values. One of the most useful shortcuts is the trail of three fingers. (Waiting three fingers on the trackpad to move the windows)

All of a sudden (not to dedicate this issue to the 10.11.6 updated, just around the time I noticed it start), none of my Macs would three finger drag. After some research, I found the setting in system preferences > accessibility > mouse and Trackpad > Trackpad Options > select "activate him slide: slide three fingers ' (see below)

One thing I did find was if there was a reallocation of feature with 10.11.6 or if I have, in fact, lost my senses?

Would like to know if anyone has experienced this?

    Thank you

    Michael

I think that this has been an option of accessibility for quite awhile. Are you sure you want to use System Preferences > Trackpad instead?

If you change your options as noted accessibility, it will change your Trackpad preferences to avoid conflict with them.

  • Disable scrolling of three fingers

Is there a way to disable three finger scrolling (while keeping two fingers scrolling) on the MacBook trackpad? I think I can scroll with two and three fingers, but want it only for two.

  • Drag three fingers on the Trackpad 2

I am using a first generation Magic Trackpad on a rMBP without any problem. One of the things I liked most was the possibility to use three fingers to drag the files or folders, etc.

I just changed a new iMac with the Magic Trackpad 2, and I wonder how to recover the function of slide three fingers again. I can't find this option anywhere, in system preferences, and really miss me. I often have to drag things a relatively far distance (particularly on this larger screen) and keep my thumb pressed and dragging my finger at the same time is not nearly as convenient or easy.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

Never mind! I just got the solution sent me: https://discussions.apple.com/message/30247161?ac_cid=tw123456#30247161

It is not in the Trackpad preferences at all; This is part of the accessibility! I make a note of it for use later, just in case!
