• HP5610 AIO Win7 install but does not work

  HP5610 SDGOB number-OfficeJet AIO - 0505 - I downloaded the Software Installation HP5610 Win 7 and run the install file.  Installation worked fine and the printer was recognized when the usb cable is connected.  However the HP5610 does not work with the software in any mode.  When you try to print, it prints partially and then stops and the Panel of the printer just flashes and indicates the ERROR.  I believe the software think that it is a Photosmart printer, but it's not. The printer does not print PhotoSmart cartridges... only the standard color cartridges.  When I look at devices and printers, the HP5610 is identified as a PhotoSmart printer.  Note that this printer works fine with another computer running XP.  I installed the installer twice, both with the same results.  I love this AIO - I need it to be running on my two computers of Win 7.  Anyone have an suggestions?  I have no idea what to do next.  Thanks for your help.

  Thanks for the reply.   Well, I have two computers here.   I have an old Pentium 4 that I upgraded to XP and now on Win 7.  I know that I have some problems with it's hardware compatibility...  I installed the HP5610 three times and he moved smoothly, but the printer keeps hanging up or gives error messages.  I uninstalled the HP5610 installation twice and installed three times, always with the guarantee off (Avast).   The second computer is a relatively new I-3 with Win7.  Absolutely no problem with the installation of HP5610 I-3 and the printer works perfectly.  I think is no longer the driver HP does not work - I know not that this is computer hardware/Win 7 on the Pentium problems.  I have another HP printer (1010) in collaboration with the Pentium and a scanner EPSON also work with it.  I'll use the HP5610 on the I-3.  Guess it's time to replace the old Pentium...   Here, I have 4 HP printers...  HP puts the large printers that last a long time.   Thank you.

  I don't know why the program will not install correctly.  Maybe it's not compatible with Vistahttp://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-vista/default.aspx.  Try running it in compatibility mode to see if that makes a difference:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/using-windows-vista-compatibility-mode/.

  If not, what is the EXACT error message during installation?  When you say bad graphics, hear you text is fine and it is only the graphics that are a problem?

  When you perform the installation, right-click on the installation icon and click on run as Admninstrator to see if that makes a difference.

  If this does not work, try a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

  I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

  Method 1:

  Run the fixit from Microsoft Fixit article and if that helps.

  Diagnose and automatically fix problems of Windows Firewall service:

  Method 2: The driver of the authorization (mdsdrv.sys) firewall is a system protected Windows file. You can run the tool File Checker system and if the file is found to be damaged, it will be replaced.
  Proceed with caution.

  a. go to start / all programs / accessories.

  b. right click on the item "Command Prompt" and select the option 'run as administrator '.

  c. click 'Continue' on the UAC prompt.
  In the command window, type the following command.
   SFC/SCANNOW

  d. press ENTER.

  This will take a few minutes to complete. Try not to use the computer during execution of SFC.
  When the tool is finished, restart the computer and review the firewall options.

  You can try the following.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

  Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

  Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.

• Epson Workforce GT - 1500 Scanner "installed" but does not work

  Hi all
  I have a new Gt-1500 scanner, which is supposed to be compatible with Vista. It says so on the installation DVD. The installation process seems to work fine, but Epson Scan reported an error "Epson Scan has stopped working" until he starts work.
  I went to epson.com and download the latest version. Uninstall and reinstall, exactly the same result.

  The scanner appears to install a WIA device flat only (it's a dish with the charger). It analyses with software that detects the WIA device. However, it is completely useless because all the features of the ADF are defeated as well as other features without Epson Scan works and the driver complete.

  I reinstalled about 10 times now, including 60 minutes with the help of Epson have... Uninstall me and reinstall.

  I think that there is something corrupt with my system Vista Home Premium 64 - bit somewhere, but I have no idea. I'm not prepared or able to do a complete OS resinstall to solve this problem, if it is even the problem.

  UPDATE: it is certainly a problem of Vista compatibility. I just installed on a laptop XP - pro of soon-to-be-retired and it works perfectly. Now the question is, is this an Epson installation/driver problem or something in my HP Vista installation on shelf?

  You said that you thought that your Vista installation was corrupted.  Try to run the System File Checker to see if it can rectify all corrupt system files.  This could be the cause of your software Epson does not properly.

  To run the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
  Click Start and type cmd in the box start the search.
  Right click on cmd in the list programs, and then click Run as administrator.
  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue
  At the command prompt, type the following line and press ENTER:
  sfc/scannow
  When the analysis is complete, test to see if the problem you are experiencing is resolved.

  Alternatively, you can try to install Cleanup utility.  Many times you have uninstalled and reinstalled the Epson software, it wouldn't hurt.
