TCP ip error. Obtaining of svchost.exe, cvpnd.exe failure.

I deleted bojour.exe and tried to registry cleaning.  I think I somehow corrupt tcp ip driver in this process.  I installed the sp3 thinking that it will fix the problem of tcp ip. But it did not work. I have uninstalled/reinstalled NIC drivers. Tried to repair the LAN connections, but it did not help.  I tried to start windows recovery, but instead of showing me repair OS option, it just re-installed OS in a file duplicate.

Any way to correct ip tcp corrupt installation?  LAN connections get dynamically IP addresses and DNS.  If I boot on the new installation of the operating system on the same computer, the network works fine.

Thanks in advance

Pramod,

It is a response I received help to restore a corrupt with error code 11003 Winsock key.

First of all, I checked to see if the problem was caused by a bunk provider (LSP), as described in the first point, using the netsh command in cmd prompt: netsh winsock see the catalog.

After checking the winsock catalog to determine that there was overididing of any LSP providers of basic services, I ran the Winsock XP Fix, as described in the second point, and this has solved the problem with the connectivity TCP/IP and Winsock.

If there are the LSP in the catalog, you can run the LSPfix initially, followed by the Winsock XP Fix.

I hope this will be of help to you.

Hi there nzcleman,http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
Read the instructions on how to use LSPFix carefully here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial59.html

Download and run LSPFix from here:

Once executed, restart your system.

Now download and run WinsockXPFix from here: http://majorgeeks.com/WinSock_XP_Fix_d4372.html
Restart your system once again WinsockXPFix finished (even though it should restart for you).

I hope this will help :)

What should I do about it?

You don't need to "try" things - you need to "do" things:

It seems that the last update for Windows Media Player may contribute to this problem when the system has the Windows Driver Foundation Service active and running.

Unless you write your own drivers for XP and using the Windows Driver Foundation Service to help you debug, you should disable the WDF Service.

Click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to launch the Services Applet

Locate the Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework Service, right-click right the Service, select properties and choose disabled and OK your way out of the Services Applet to save the changes.

Note that you will not be able to 'Stop' Service first, but it's OK.

Restart your system (the WDF service is now disabled) and check your failure condition now.

I am running WinXP SP3 on a desktop computer that came pre-installed with Norton in 2005 but has fonctionnee McAfee for at least 3 years now. The firewall is through McAfee.

Assuming that the computer is not infected, the following should solve your problem from Windows Update:

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

1B. download the tool McAfee Consumer Product Removal, save it to your desktop:http://download.mcafee.com/products/licensed/cust_support_patches/MCPR.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. double-click on the file that you saved in # 1 a above, to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    4. now make this triple McAfee fix & restart: http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507

    Hi GeorgeMotaung,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         Are you able to boot to the desktop?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Start your computer in last known good configuration.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting steps, follow section How to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state of the link to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start and then click Run.

    (b) type msconfig and click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

  • How can I fix a svchost.exe error 'Ox7c919af2 '?

I get a "Ox7c919cf2" (.. .referenced at "0x00000010") svchost.exe error each time I restart my computer.  Debugging doesn't fix it, even if it offers me the option on the popup error message! I looking for viruses, downloaded and executed the TDSS Killer of root and more (to hunt hidden malware/viruses), and the computer "seems" to be happy. I hope that the error message is simply related to a problem of program or something (unlike last time, where he mentioned that I had a virus), and someone has a simple solution (KB?), I can apply to fix.  It will save me another $200 if it is not infected again!

System = Win XP, 32 bit, Media Center, HP Pavilion, Office 2007 Pro (used at home).

Let me know if you need more info on the problem before answer you please, if I get any effective suggestions to try to fix it.

Nothing comes up on my anti-virus.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Scott, I did some research on this and found this site, don't know if they fixed the problem is related to your but you can see if the process will help. I found this on PC * Web site:

    http://www.pchell.com/support/svchosterror.shtml

I'll do some looking and see what I can find.

It is permanently associated with a start-up program, I would like to go in safe mode after you start in Windows, go to start then run and type msconfig. Once in the config window go to the Startup tab and uncheck all the boxes that are not essential to the system. You do not uncheck anti-virus or your spyware / malware removal software. If the system starts fine then go back to msconfig and start checking one box at a time until you get the error again. The last program box checked is the culprit and should be removed and put back in place.

    Hope this helps, Jim
