  Thank you very much, this is very useful.  Can I just confirm what constitutes an acceptable method of removing of Dell PC?  I have to do something to turn off allow it on the Dell PC before removing it?  I can't uninstall it (because the update of XP should be a clean install) so my options are delete and format the hard drive (my supported option, can I use it for storage) or go back to XP using an Acronis Disk image that I kept from the time of the upgrade.  Whatever it is, I imagine that Microsoft have to take my word that I removed?

  There are 4 disks and disk cloning first 3 succeeded, but the last of them failed with the message "unable to open 'exch01_3.vmdk'. Reached the limit of the host for open files (40).

  Is there someone out there who knows how I can get this last drive for clone properly?

  It is probably caused by the block size VMFS for the target data store. In order to allow greater than 512 GB files the size of the block on a VMFS3 data store must be at least 4 MB. You have an another data store with a block size of 4 MB (or 8 MB)? If so, create a folder named on this data store for the hard file and run vmkfstools as target using that store of data/folder.

  "Limit reached" means that the disk is full or you have reached the maximum of files you can store on your remote server. If necessary, you will need to remove some files before you can upload more.

  What version of Vista are you using? You have access on this computer? You are able to do anything on the computer when the message appears? The error message appears when starting the computer in Safe Mode? You can perform a System Restore to an earlier date when the error message appeared.

  Connection means a user process is successfully connected to the listener to have a session on the database running instance. (listener who listen s new connection requests)
  Establish sessions: means, a (dedicated) server process began to serve a user process. It is done when the credentials of the user authenticated successfully. Now, from process-user shall communicate to the server process directly.

  If you ask to know how many channels is in a physical channel DAQmx? If so, just the physical channel to Unflatten DAQmx channel chain wire. You'll get a table. The size of table function will give you the number of channels.
