  • Tecra M5: Can not access the internet pages, but can ping in cmd.exe

Hi all, this is confusing to me.

I've been happily connected to my WLAN for more than a year without any problems. I recently updated my drivers for the following on my Tecra M5:

    -Intel Pro Wireless adapt
    -Drivers audio Sigmatel
    -nVidia graphics card

Now, after facilities, everything was fine. However, a few days later, I turned on the laptop and went to IE7 and it cannot display the web page (my homepage is www.google.co.uk). I called my ISP to help and they reported problems on the service, and they gave me the www.google.co.uk ip address I got a response of in cmd.exe. It seems that I can get out on the internet but I can't access the Web pages - it could be a DNS issue?

I have disabled my A - V and firewall and tried but get the same question. I also tried to restore the PC back more than a month and it did not help either. I'd appreciate any help that anyone can give.

I also plugged the laptop directly into the router using an ethernet cable, so it's not only a wireless issue either.

I have installed any other software at all at the moment and the only other thing that got my attention, it's that, in the field of restoration, there a lot of system restore points, which I wasn't expecting to see in the last month. But it could be a Kipper.

    Thank you very much

    Hello

According to your message, you are not able to connect to internet via LAN and WLan. Is this good?

Well, in your case I would first check the router settings and re still.
In addition, you must reset the router.

Usually, the router assigns the IP address, and therefore you would just plug the laptop LAN cable and then should be able to connect to the internet.
Please note that the TCP/IP protocol settings must be set to automatic.

    Check everything first!

  • Tecra M1: can not update my DVD on a DVD - RW - error messages

On the new adjusting disc, as soon as the Tecra M1 turns on, it comes up with an error:
    Error IDE #1

I saw that the old DVD was a master/slave setting, where as on the cable, this disc is select. No details on how to set it, if possible, anywhere.

    Help, please

    Salvation Lp,

    I have 2 suggestions for you. :-)

    1. who is the drive of DVD - RW (a Toshiba part option or a 3rd party product) built in? Standard is a Slim Select Bay Drive, which might be changed by an another Slim Select Bay Drive. If there is no Slim Select Bay Drive, he could not work!

    2. the fact that 'IDE #1 error' is perhaps a hardware error. You could do a BIOS update, and if the error occurs again once you call Toshiba and assess the error!

    I'll hope this helps

    Goodbye ;-) Bob

  • Tecra A8 does not power up - no POST

    Hi guys

I have a toshiba Tecra A8, which begins the fans and has kyboard controls lights and other things but don't post.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

Tecra A8 can not pass the MESSAGE correctly?
This means that a hardware problem on the motherboard has been detected.

    Try this:
-Remove the battery, disconnect the adapter
    -Wait 1 hour
-Connect the two parties to laptop and try power upward.

If this doesn't help, then you should check the RAM modules.
If the laptop won't start not even with new modules, then a motherboard problem would be possible.

    Welcome them

  • Tecra S3 - cannot access the configuration of the BIOS 2 Page / can not peripheral chance to start

    Hello!

I just bought a laptop Tecra S3 from ebay.
I turned it on a TI said "NTLDR is missing". Good I thing the guy who sold it has erased its data from the hard drive, no problem I'll install a new Windows XP.
    But... now the problem.
When the laptop iss merchandising, I hold down the 'ESC' key, then press 'F1' for the BIOS.
    Everything is fine.
But I can not go on the Page 2 of the BIOS. PGUP/PGDOWN has failed. I also tried with an external keyboard.
I read that the manual (PDF) that says "Hit F12 to go to the Bootdevice selection."
    But that din't work.
At the start of the laptop it does show that for a second half the Toshiba screen, even when I hit F12.

What can I do to make the laptop CD/DVD boot? Or how can I enter the bootscreen or BIOS Page 2?

    Greetings from the Germany,
    Holger

Start your laptop and press F12 to get into the boot menu.
Has chosen the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.

Optical drive will serve as first boot device.

You can also try with the C key.

Place the bootable disk in the disk drive, start your laptop and press the C key several times. This will force it's STRANGE to be the first boot device.

  • Tecra 8200: I can not install Wlan for XP driver

    Hello
I can't find the driver for windows xp wireless. I have Tecra 8200. I try to install a large number of drivers from the official page of Toshiba Tecra 8200 for but the drivers do not work.
If anyone knows how I can install wireless in my tecra 8200, let me know.

    Hello

First of all, I want to say it's the Tecra 8200 has not been delivered with Windows XP and you will find not all Wlan for XP drivers on the Toshiba site.
I checked and there are only drivers for W2k, NT and W98SE.

But as far as I know the device was shipped with the standard ORiNOCO specification Wlan miniPCI Wireless LAN Card: 802. 11 b
In this case, I recommend looking on the net for these drivers.

Unfortunately, that's all I can suggest.

  • Tecra A9 - sometimes I can not type - click using the touch pad

There are times that I can not type - click using the touch pad or other keys (all of a sudden without any reason)

I can move the cursor in this case but not tap - click here to be able to click once again, I have to restart (this happens on both windows and linux)

On windows, I press alt + ctrl + del and when the Task Manager window I can tap it and after I do I can tap - Select something else and so on.
Click on the Task Manager click on anything else until I reboot and the problem goes away just to appear suddenly unexpectadly at the same time.

I have the newest bios and driver accupoint

    Any tips?

This happens only with touchpad, or when you use an external USB mouse?
For me it looks more like the Windows operating system freezes for a short period. Is this good?

  • Tecra 720cdt: screen is central docking station - 1/2 in.

    Hello

    Thank you.

    Windy morning

As far as I know if you use the right display driver should not be a problem. As far as I know, this unit comes with Win 95 and you can find the right driver on the Toshiba download page. What operating system is running on your device?

Check also displays the properties on the settings tab.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M2 does not start

I'm new havoing problems with my Tecra M2. can someone point me in the right direction with regard to breakdowns, I had a glance on the forum and the threads associated with the Tecra range but cannot find all threads that match my problem.

In a short time, less than three days, I had a problem that began with the laptp re start when it has been moved to now does not start at all. All the lights are what I expect of them with the exception of the HARD drive indicator, that does not illuminate at the start of the boot sequence. Does that mean that my HARD drive or the connection at the disk has failed, measures of observation of fault that I can follow to confirm or deny my fears would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

If the HARD drive is faulty, then you should not be able to start the operating system, but you should be able to see the BIOS splash screen.
You see that? Are you abele to access the BIOS?
    Please check this!

To access the BIOS ESC and F1 press immediately after the laptop has been powered! If this is not possible then there might be something wrong with the motherboard or any other piece of hardware like RAM.

If you are able to access the BIOS, then you should check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
You can also use the tool called Drive Fitness Test to verify the HARD drive!

  • Tecra 9100 does not supply power to the top

    Hello

I got Tecra 9100 laptop computer and you have a POWER PROBLEM.
Basically, it got stuck at the start of the OS and I was unable to click or move the mouse to do something. So I held the power button to turn it off. I do not turn on again entered game coz I had to go somewhere.

So when I tried to move THE next day and he won't power upward. I can see a GREEN LIGHT but can not hear any CPU, the FAN, the monitor or the hard sound. When I connect to the AC adapter, I can see the LOAD LED but nothing else seems to be powered.

I also tried to replace the memory Module, but still won't power upward. I guess that the motherboard does not have to be ABLE so nothing is turned. But the one thing that I do not understand why the POWER LED on (GREEN LED) is on, unless it has the power source.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?
    Help, please

    Thank you

    Hi Sonia,.

I suggest that you try to remove the battery and power supply so that all power of the laptop is turned off. Reconnect AC power and try to turn on the laptop. If it works, then re-install the battery. I think that the electronics of power sometimes get "stuck" and this procedure usually receives smooth them.

If the unit still does not power on after having tried the above procedure, then I suuspect there must be a problem of internal material in which case you must take the device to a partner of Service authorized for rectification.

    Kind regards

  • Tecra 8000 does not initialize to top

My Tecra 8000 will not initialize-to the top (previously worked fine).
    1. the Red "TOSHIBA" icon comes up, then it just "grey screens" on me.
    2. I can start up to the A: drive using a bootable floppy and I see the hard drive (C:\) and it seems OK.
    3. I checked the settings of BIOS (ESC, F1), and they look OK.
    4. I have Windows 2000 installed.

    Any suggestions? Thanks, Neil

    Hello

It seems that the laptop properly the Toshiba screen.
In this case, there should be no problem with hardware or BIOS.

Eventually switch you to the external display? I would recommend the connection of the external monitor to check if something pops up.
But if it doesn't help, so possibly damaged HARD drive could be responsible for this issue.

Have you tried to boot from the CD? You see something?

  • Tecra Z50 is not connecting to WiFi

    Hi guys

We recently sold a customer a Z50 toshiba ultrabook and major problems with the wireless.

We find it scrambling to pick up some wireless access point they main ap we have problems with is a standard B/G wireless ap with wpa2 encryption.

The laptop can not simply see the it.
I have an old toshiba Tecra A11, sitting next to this laptop that gets the signal strength while the Z50 full nothing appears.

There is simply no network in the wireless networks list.

I've updated the drivers, I even tried to use the intel driver from the site of intel is making no difference.

The strange part is connected to another AP, another brand, but still a b/g with wpa2 access point.
No other device have problems connecting to this access point.
We have iphones, tablets, and other computers laptop toshiba about without any problems what so ever.

As you can tell it's driving me crazy.

It was an expensive laptop that recommended us our client and so far, we are very disappointed.

    > The strange part is connected to another AP, another brand, but still a b/g with wpa2 access point

It seems that there is a compatibility problem between the WLan card and some WLan routers.
    This can happen

You can try to change some settings in (Device Manager > card WLan-> properties-> Advanced tab)

The options available in the Advanced tab depends on the WLan card and are not always the same. However, for the most part you can choose different WLan standards, etc.

Also I recommend you change some settings on the router. Disable encryption settings and try to connect to open (not secure) Wlan AP.
In the event that the laptop could connect properly, there must be a compatibility problem with the encryption used by the router.
You can also try to switch between the WPA/WPA2 AES and TKIP

  • Why Tecra A3 does not start from CD/DVD?

My laptop Tecra A3 does not react to the BIOS setting asking at the start of the CD/DVD.

CD/DVD is the first place in the list of bootable devices (defined through F12 in boot sequence) the operating system starts with the HD. I have a chance to start with a bootable CD!

    The configuration is the following:

    Tip: TOSHIBA EAT10/EAT20
    BIOS: TOSHIBA V2.80 10/25/2006

    Any advice is welcome!

    Thanks in advance

    Antonio Giarrusso

Have you tested with different CD bootable?
Also try to start computer laptop using F12 and choose ODD as the first boot device.

You can use ODD in Windows OS preinstalled?
