Tecra 740 cdt - how to access BIOS?

Hello
I have an old Tecra 740 cdt no hard drive and a hard drive empty.
I wonder how to access BIOS so I could change the boot priority to boot from a bootable CD.
Navigating on this forum I found a few keystrokes as F2, F8 and so on, but it did not work for me.
Can anyone help?

TIA

Have you tried to click on the ESC then F1 immediately after switching on the laptop?
As far as I know it should work on all laptops with BIOS Toshiba

  • RAM for Tecra 740 CDT

I just bought an old laptop TECRA 740 CDT on eBay to travel without fear. Aries is in fact of 64 or 80 MB (to be confirmed) and I want to bring to 144 MB (at most, I think).

What kind of RAM do I use (SIMM?) and it's easy to do it yourself? Thanks for any tip and the thing!

    Hello

I found the info that you need module memory 128 MB of the PA2046U. Check it out!

By the way: I can confirm that 144 MB of RAM is the max, you can use on this good old classic.

  • Quick start function - how to access BIOS?

    Hello

Recently, I activated the Fast Boot option in the BIOS and now I can't access BIOS again.
I have try press F2 bit after power is on but does not work.

Do you have ideas of how enter to the BIOS?

    Hello

Quick start can be enabled or disabled in the system of windows running.
Toshiba preinstalled application called system settings allows allows you to load the default settings.

In the case where Windows 7 is pre-installed, check the tool called Toshiba HWsetup that should be included in all programs-> Toshiba

But you should also be able to access the BIOS, press the INSERT key and then the key F2
Also try the F12 key. Now in the boot menu should appear where you can choose the option Enter Setup.

This will allow you to access the BIOS

There is no "Advance Setting" user that you are configuring. If user settings does not have this option, then you do not have this option.

  • How to access the BIOS on a Pavilion Elite e9237c with mouse and keyboard wireless?

I have a desktop computer Pavilion Elite e9237 with a wireless keyboard and mouse. I tried to access the BIOS by pressing F10 at startup with no luck, and I can't access any of the other menus for the start-up eiither. I don't have a PS/2 port on my computer, so I can't get a wired keyboard and mouse. Does anyone know how to access the BIOS with this configuration?

I bought a USB keyboard and he answered in the same way... No bios access. I then studied why it did not work and discovered that it was the way in which he has been connected to the computer. I had initially plugged into a USB hub when he was not working and I moved it directly into a USB port and it works! I plugged my keyboard wireless directly into the USB port and it works too! Thanks for your help... I wouldn't have thought of it if it wasn't for to recommend you the USB keyboard.

  • Satellite Pro S500-14Z - how to access the BIOS?

    Hello

on the Satellite Pro S500-14Z I can´t access the BIOS via F2 and can´t change the bootpriority through F12. By pressing F2 or F12 during startup, the S500 beeps and restarts. When you first start, I had access to the Bios and set the password and active supervisor module TPM. Since I have no access to the BIOS before Windows starts. Is there another key to access bios (I tried ESC, DEL, F1, INS) or how can I change the pw supervisor (I know my real password!) and disable the TPM?

    Thank you
    Karl

    Hi karlS_1,

Normally you can access the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows starts. It works with an external keyboard?

You can change some settings in the BIOS using Toshiba HWsetup. This tool is preinstalled on your laptop and you can change the order of boot with this tool.

For example, Free BSD so requires, also my older hardware.
    Help, please! :)

To enter the BIOS pleas try to press "F2" immediately after booting the laptop.
I think Phoenix BIOS has been installed on this device, and therefore the F2 key must be correct.
