Tecra 780 DVD - backlight on screen work

On my old T 780 DVD that the backlight on the screen does not work, the dealer said I have to buy a new screen that will be expensive.

My kids use only 780 T for games and I don't want to pay a price for new TFT and the external monitor takes too much space of bridges.

Can anyone help, how to fix the new backlight in TFT?

Thank you

    Hi all

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I came across a dilemma. My sister laptop screen broke (baby) and it was far from always being in warranty and we had not assured him. So I bought a new screen for it and it mounted fine. When I turn on the laptop, I can hardly do anything on the screen as if the backlight does not work.

I see that it is there, it's just very very dark. I thought this would be a problem with the inverter. So I bought a new one of those too, but alas, it still does not. I can do all things beautiful to display on an external monitor via the VGA port.

    Someone at - it ideas?

    Hello

I understand you want to save money, but especially help the technician is most recommended as repair by yourself.
In any case, as mentioned, you should be sure that the cable has been connected in the right way.
You must connect the LCD/FL cable to connector LCD/FLand connect the cable to connector HV HT. Place the module LCD, the FL inverter board in the correct position.

    Good luck!

  • Crazy mouse on my Tecra 780 DVD

I know that this issue has been raised before but I just hit a wall of bricks above him. I had to reformat and reinstall Win98 on a 780DVD. Everything seemed fine until I tried to use a ps2 mouse. The pointer goes crazy, is creating 'right click' on the screen and all sorts of questions.

The dongle of rubber in the middle of the kb is OK on its own. I've read about the use of tsetup to try to address this problem and this is my new problem - I don't have it.
    Where can I get tsetup?

    Hello

Well, this device is an old classic. It s about 8 years!
AFAIK the tsetup updates the BIOS. If you liked the BIOS update?
I think first of all, you should check the mouse options.

However you will find newer BIOSES:

    Hey,.

What exactly do you mean? This means that you can t burn DVD-r with 16 x speed?
In this case, you should check the specifications of your CD/DVD drive. Not all models support this speed of combustion. In addition, I recommend using 8 x only, he speed will give you a better quality of the burned data/average.

You must also use different types of media. I believe that your other computers have different drives in order to test different mediums. I have a good experience with Verbatim DVD-R.

I understand that it was ok with your laptop before installing Windows 7. It is so related to hardware problem software. Can you tell if it was original iso of windows 7 or the Assembly. Have you installed all the drivers for the Toshiba driver page and the maintenance of the right installation order? What burning software do use?

Have you done this procedure mentioned in this forum:

Go to Device Manager and remove the drive from the list of devices CD/DVD.
Then access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:

    Hello

Maybe you bought a CD/DVD drive that is not compatible, and BIOS can not recognize this because of bad master/slave/c-salt settings.

The settings for the desktop PC readers is editable using the jumper.
The computer s portable slim CD/DVD discs online are controlled by the firmware and you cannot change these settings if you don t have the right firmware.

So I think that you have to buy another compatible

Based on what you reported, it ceratinly looks like the portion of the display LED backlit is a failure. This part can be purchased separately

I guess that the spectrum is no longer in warranty, based on "The PC was bought 01.october.2013.". Is this correct?

Replacing the LED backlit screen, that's what will solve the problem. There is no converter in a backlit led display

If you feel uncomfortable with do it yourself you will save a little. The price range is very broad since it is a touch screen and the high-end model. You need to open the HP Support Assistant or the BIOS to find the full product number.  You will need to know what screen is installed before ordering the part.

  • CD/dvd drive does not work - it is recognized when the computer starts, and it is listed in the Device Manager?

I am running Vista Home Premium on a laptop Compaq Presario F700. It is listed in the list of computers of readers, it is listed in Device Manager. The lites drive that the computer boots so I know it is detected. When you run itunes or media player the player does not open. When I push the drive button it will not open. It opens with a paperclip in the exit hole. It cannot read a CD or a DVD. None of the media players even recognize there is a disc in the drive. I tried to run fixit, but it would not drive either. I tried restoring from a previous backup, without change.

    Hello

Check / settings (BIOS/CMOS) often F2 so watch the screen as it starts - place CD/DVD
1st in the boot order (remember to put it at the time where the fact).

Then put in a DVD to boot Windows and see if the driver works.

If it doesn't then it's a hardware problem.

    =======================================

If the drive has worked in the test above, that these can help:

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\System\CurrentControlSet\Enum\IDE

  • Screen works only after a hard reset.

    Hello.

I got this dv6220la of Pavilion with a strange screen problem.

In normal use, the screen never lights up, all lights come on, I see the drive hard drives work, but completely black screen, not even the backlight remains on.

If I keep the power button until the laptop turns off and then turn it on, while the screen works normally.

Whenever I turn it off normally (press the power button or use the stop dialog box) will not work after turning on the screen and whenever I have the strength it will work normally until the next power off.

    What could happen?

When something does not work as it is supposed to, then it works as expected.

I tried removing the battery, now the Start button / stop for 45 seconds etc... That did not work.

I tried to start and stop a lot of times, it starts the desktop computer, I can hear the sound of it connection, but it seems to take more time for the sound to happen now and it seems to the connection ring twice, 10 minutes apart.

One of the moments where I turned it on it the screen worked and it has loaded the system recovery, I chose to keep my existing files and the partition, the screen worked for the half-hour it took to recover windows, then when it restarted the screen wasn't working again...

It's very frustrating as a week ago, that the laptop was with Toshiba repair, there is no previous problems with the screen, I sent him with a cooling fan failure...

Any help would be appreciated, I need laptop badly I work online and need to pay the rent...

Sorry to hear that very annoying if computer laptop / computer starts to malfunction.
From my point of view, no one here in the forum would be able to help this issue, because I think that there is something wrong with the hardware.

You can connect the external monitor just to check if something is not visible on the 2nd screen but of course, this would not correct the problem of the laptop.

Maybe the problem is related to the last laptop repair? You said that the laptop has been send to the service about a week ago, it's just a guess, but maybe the technician made some mistakes last time who knows that I recommend you to get in touch with the guys again

    Help, please

    Thank you

    Hello

There are two possible reasons why you are not able to copy anything to the CD or DVD.

First, it may be possible that the drives used are not entirely compatible.
In such cases, it s always advisable to test different CD and DVD from different manufacturers.

Secondly, the issue could be related to a defective laser lens; in many cases, this can happen because of a physical constraint. If the laser lens can not calibrate in a good position, then the player will not be able to handle the inserted discs.
This could be the worst case, because this issue is not repairable. Just a STRANGE replacement could help.
