Tecra 8000: Behavior strange keyboard after reassembly

Hello

After reassembling the individual keys on my keyboard in Tecra 8000, the keys have a strange behavior. For example, if I press the 2 key the display shows '82' or 'q '. If I hold the button longer, the display shows "2222222222222...", the right to sign for the key. "
You know, what can I do?
I had to go back the key because my little niece takes off all the keys.

Thanks for your reply,
Butch

Hello

I agree with Daniel. There is a technical problem and the only thing you can do is to try to clean the contacts. If there is no success, you need to replace the keyboard. This unit is older and I am sure you can find a used keyboard at low prices.

Good bye

  • Tecra 8000 does not start after the BIOS update

From one day to the other does not start my Tecra 8000 (400 MHz/256 MB BIOS 9.30 for years). After start-up, the disc starts to turn, but the screen including the backlight remains completely black, without red logo TOSHIBA BIOS is not accessible.

I got a new mainboard on stock, so I replaced it, and it worked. Unfortunately now my WLAN card now did not work properly. I tried several settings of the BIOS with no results, so I decided to do an update of the BIOS from 7.50 to 9: 30. After the upgrade, I get the message "ROM WRITE successful, utility completed. LEADER BIOS: Tecra8000 v 9,30 ". Because what either kept silent, I pressed the power button to restart and heard a long and many short beeps (endless). I could interrupt what pressing the powerbutton for 5s.

After turning on again I have the same problem as described in the first line :-( I can't get into the BIOS, but I can again update (with pressed F12). Once again these beeps.

What to do with these beeps after average BIOS update? I replaced the MoBo connector LED with pension. Processor, memory, keyboard and HD has remained the same. So, before I start disassembling the machine, please notify, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Joachim

I'm not a technician and don t know what the beeps but I am afraid that the BIOS chip is damaged. Because of this, the unit is completely dead. Sorry, but I really don t believe you can do anything. Maybe the new motherboard again :(

  • Satellite M40-223: behavior strange keyboard

Hi, I have a problem with my laptop M40-223. Sometimes it happens that the keyboard goes completely crazy, you can't write anything, or just a few letters and all the system becomes unstable and I have to reset (sometimes several times). I don't really know what to do, the system is clean of spyware/malaware, suggestions?

    Thank you in advance,

    L.

Are you sure it s only a problem of keyboard and not a corrupted Windows OS?
The hardware malfunction keyboard is possible that something similar happened on my laptop s a friend. The whole notebook was not accessible because the mouse cursor has jumped on the screen and it was possible to do something
Finally, EPA has replaced the entire keyboard and solved this problem

I m not 100% sure if your keyboard is faulty. I think that the new installation of operating system recovery CD is necessary to ensure that it is a hardware or software problem.

If the same will appear after using the recovery CD then it s definitely a hardware problem and the part must be replaced!

  • Tecra S1 and strange keyboard problem

    Hello

I had one laptop Tecra S1 old but still works perfectly, except for one thing that is a few years old.

A month ago or so the keyboard started acting all weird for a small period. When I press 'e' the output is eo and if I hold down the button the output looks like this: "eooooooooooooo." The other keys work fine. When I press the 'o' key it simply prints me an o. It has nothing to do with the language of the combination Fn + F10-11 settings. When I have the keypad and I press 'e' I just get the number 6, the same thing happens when I press o.

So basically the o - key works as it should. But there is something missed on 'e '. Earlier today it has worked when I had the pad on, but a little later he returned all crazy. I started my system with a Linux LiveCD to see if it was an OS problem but it wasn't. With an external keyboard, the system works like a charm.

That one key, the e, causing me a headache. It prints me eo or eooooooooooo when pressed.

Thanks if anyone can help me with this. I am thinking of opening up the system and check on the keyboard. It is simply difficult to find a keyboard with a layout of the Finns, but maybe I'll buy an English and Relabel upward.

I agree with the user who has the funny nickname I like it ;)

It looks like a malfunction of the keyboard and it should be replaced
The ASP can do this! Ask if the technicians for assistance!

    See you soon

  • Behavior strange keyboard Lenovo Y-50

Hey. My Lenovo Y-50 is a little older than a year, and all of a sudden the keyboard started acting strangely. On the windows login screen, everything is normal, but then the keyboard does not work. When I turn on the keyboard on the screen it starts to work immediately. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Hey, I tried everything and nothing seemed to work. But then I turned off FilterKeys, allowed him once again and tweaked the settings a little bit and now everything worked for a few days. I don't know what it was, but the problem seems to have been in the settings for FilterKeys.

    Thanks for the quick response.

  • Tecra A8 (PTA83H) - strange error after software updates

I downloaded the software upgrades and installed successfully. But if I run it, I get the message "error! The T.BIOS'CEO driver file is missing or damaged. The application leaves. "I just upgraded to BIOS 1.6 but software updates always generate the same error.

Anyone who has received the same error message? Your suggestions will be appreciated.

    Thank you.

Software updates of the term is quite general, and this is not easy to understand what you mean exactly. Do you have extra time with a little more info about update software?

  • Tecra 8000 - connection of the hard disk

    Hello

My old Tecra 8000 dropped last night after 4 years loyal service. She simply refuses to start to start most of the time. I think that this is a motherboard problem because sometimes it is starts on a diskette and remains stable for about 10 minutes. I know that the hard drive is fine as I can copy files on disk when booting from the floppy in DOS mode. Is there a way I can connect the HDD on a desktop PC so that I can recover the files which are there?

    Thanks for your help,

    Tom

Have you tried to get into the BIOS?
    Check it out.
But usually after the update laptop BIOS should properly work and boots.
Have you followed the instructions on the BIOS update on the page of Toshiba?
Maybe you did something wrong and the motherboard is damaged.

  • Tecra 8000 - need DVD player software

I have an aging Tecra 8000 running XP Pro. It came with the standard DVD player (SD - C2102) I can not read the DVD. After a brief look at the electronic manual, it seems there is a MPEG2 decoder in there somewhere for DVD playback and it came originally with a program of DVD player who took advantage of this.

This DVD player is not on the system and just WMP plays the audio and RealPlayer not playing the ball at all.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

I don't know if DVD software has been bundled with this Tecra8000, but this is not very serious.
In the internet, you will find many freeware DVD player.
The new laptops Toshiba come with a preinstalled WinDVD program.
But you can also use other programs such as PowerDVD.
    Control the internet.

  • Tecra 8000, linux & ethernet & pnp

    Hello

I am trying to install Linux on a Toshiba Tecra 8000. The problem is with a chipset Realtek ethernet PCMCIA card (module: 8139too), which is recognized, but the network is unusable. I always get an error of SIOCSFFLAGS and assigned interruption is 0, which means that it has failed. I have read many times that I have to disable plug-and-play, but there is no choice when I start with a floppy and run the TSETUP. EXE. Y at - it an alternative to this? Do you have any other clues?

    Thanks, Thomas

  • Tecra 8000: No memory available to connect with area map PC

I have a Tecra 8000 running Win98 SE and use a card PCMCIA 3Com for my Internet connection. I was troubleshooting my computer on another issue and in the process disabled Cardbus PCMCIA Toshiba ToPIC controllers. After you have enabled these again once I am more able to communicate with the PC card and so unable to connect to the Internet.

Card troubleshooting agent PC States: "Windows is not able to identify or use the inserted PC card device because there is no available memory area to connect with this device. You need to do an area memory available before this device can be used. Check the CONFIGURATION of your computer. A memory manager that is excluding the regions of superior memory between A000 and FFFF in the SYS file '.

My Cardbus controllers are defined as follows:
    1 memory range - 0c 000000 - 0C000FFF
    2 memory range - 001000 0c - 0C001FFF

My PC Card (PCMCIA) properties are as follows:
    Card services shared memory:
    Start 000c 0000
    End 00FFFFFF
    Length 00001000

While the PC Card Modem is recognized at the Port, it can be communicated with and error message is shown as follows:

' Error 666: the modem is not plugged in or is out of service. "Connect a modem to your computer and try again.

When I run the Diagnostics on the Modem does not respond to the exception of the following:

"' Open Comm: cannot open port"

Any help or advice will be appreciated.

Have you tried to uninstall the Cardbus drivers? Not sure about the location in Win98 (in XP it is in Device Manager), go to "PCMCIA adapters" and uninstall all entries in controller.

Reboot and Win98 will perform his routine "new hardware found". This is going to re - install drivers and with a bit of luck should solve your problem.

  • Tecra 8000 with Win2k - how to start in DOS?

What I want to do is to create an image of the current operating system partition with Ghost 2003 BACK utility loaded on a CD instead of a floppy.

I have an old Tecra 8000 borrowed my gal friend. It has Win2k Pro installed.
After d/ing a pdf of the manual, it seems he came originally with Win98 installed.
The manual says to use the diskette "Companion" to enter the BACK.
The diskette only d/l that I can find is for Win 98/Win98se.

    So, my questions:
    1. the diskette of Win98 works with Win2k?
    2. preferably, how can I open a CD with BACK before the start of the OS?
I can't enter startup. But this does not allow me to access the CD-ROM drive.

I hope it's an easy process that I am too blind to see.
    THX

Two weeks ago, that I created the image using a program Norton Ghost 2003.
I created a CD image and Ghost was asked to create a floppy disk back.
I've never used this disc because I don t have a floppy drive, but I guess you can use this disk to boot from them and access to the ghost CD.
