  What mean of these messages, is that these "Firmware updates" do not apply to material in your specific computer. The two "Seagate Firmware Updates" are respectively for the hard drives of 250 GB / 320 GB and 500/750 GB hard drives. Your computer comes with a 1 TB hard drive, which is not subject to updates of the firmware. The "PLDS Optical Drive Update" is for another drive to CD/DVD only installed in your computer and also does not apply. There is no further action to take... Do not attempt to install these updates of firmware, because they do not apply to the hardware in your computer.

  My P30 came with a HARD disk that rotates at 4500 rpm of 80 GB. I really need a floppy that can write and access data fast enough for video editing (rendered) and multi track audio recording.

  I think you can use the HARD disk with the following properties:

  hard drive 9.5 mm with capacity 30 GB/40 GB/60 GB / 80 / 100GB / 120GB
  Bus Master IDE
  Support 100 synchronous DMA Ultra

  Disk HARD 7200prm will produce more heat but perhaps the laptop could handle this. Otherwise you will get some overheating shutdown downs.

  Very strange did you use a compatible 40 GB HDD?
  To my knowledge, the laptop must be able to recognize the 40 GB HARD drive.
  As far as I know the 30 GB HARD drive that was installed is a Toshiba MK3017GAP and the computer supports a HDD of 20, 30, 40 or 60 GB.

  PS: The strange noise from the HARD drive could be the beginning of the end

  I would like to know what size of the hard drive for a Tecra 8100 can be. The original GB 12.1 broke down and I can't find a disc hard it big/small or large. The current hard disk to the start of the sale to 80 GB, but I am not sure if it will work.

  I want to upgrade the hard drive on my HP8540p.  The machine comes with a 250 GB drive, P/N 595753-001.  I can remove the existing hard drive and easily see that it is a Western Digital WD2500BEKT.  According to the maintenance and care guide, the machine will support a 500 GB drive, P/N 595755-001.  But this reference has been replaced by P/N 634919-001.  I'm looking for the original manufacturer P/N 634919-001.  I can not find in any document on the web that is the original manufacturer of the 634919-001 or HP.  My best guess is that it is a WD5000BPKT.  WD5000BPKT is supported on the HP8540p?  WD7500BPKT is supported on the HP8540p?  Or has switched to another manufacturer HP?  If so, what is the OEM P/N?

  Hi, the active drive WD10EADS is a HARD SATA 2.0, while you are looking in WD10EZEX is a SATA 3.0. However, this should not be a problem since the SATA standard is backward compatible and a SATA 3.0 drive should work on a SATA 2.0 port. The difference in the size of the buffer and the ROTATION speed should not be a problem too, so you should be able to use a WD10EZEX in your system. Be sure to do a good backup of all your data on an external HARD drive before you start to replace your HARD drive. Good luck.

  (2) before starting the clone process, I found best to perform a disk cleanup and defragmentation.

All five disks SEAGATE ST373355SS 73 Gb. a few days ago one of those readers start flashing orange LED on the front of the server and also to make the mechanical noise. I do not have the same disks and I was remove the defect of the disc and insert SEAGATE ST3146356SS 146 GB. After installing a new disk in my server Hi flashes green LED power and data reading. This means that everything is ok, works salvation! Then I launch Dell PowerEdge Ver.2.9 diagnosis and saw a status of this discs - this hard drive is not supported by Dell.
  Can someone told me there is a problem or not and how to fix it?
