TECRA 8200 does not recognize the second module memory

Hi, I have a problem with one of the TECRA 8200. The machine only recognizes the first module and not the second 128 M I tried form to upgrade memory up to 256 M. module is compatible because it works without problem with an other TECRA 8200!

I updated the bios to version 1.6 but there is no way: the PC does not recognize the second module!

What can I do?

Hello

Perhaps is the second memory slot is faulty. Put this add-on in the first slot and check again.

  • Tecra 8200 does not recognize the RAM in Slot B

Since a few days my Tecra does not recognize the RAM Module in Slot B. Before everything was fine. I have 2x256MB Modules. I was wondering why my Tecra becomes slower, the last days, and then I saw that I have now only 256 MB of RAM. I have change the slot Modules A to B. I checked also the two modules of RAM with MEMCheck. Both are ok! Just at the moment where I put a RAM for Slot B and none in slot A my Tecra won't start! If I insert the two module my Tecra boots but with just 256 MB of RAM.

Is there another solution then buying a new laptop? Is my Mainbord damaged?

I was so contently with my Tecra ;-) so far

The slot B is probably defective. Only solution for me is to buy compatible 512 MB module and use it in A slot. According to specification for laptop, your device can handle with max 512 MB of RAM.

  • HP 6120 t BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller

    Hello

HP 6120 t (vista) BIOS does not recognize the second IDE hard drive connected via IDE-SATA controller. The other SATA disk and the DVD player came with the machine.

I hooked my old 200 GB Hitachi drive via the controller. I also put the jumbers in the present as a slave. I also took the original WD drive and just connect the IDE hard drive. BIOS do not show any drive at all.

I would try something possible at this time I have a lot of my data on the old disk.

    Thanks appreciate any suggestion.

Try to enter the BIOS and I believe under change of Advanced menu of SATA to IDE or Enhanced.

You need to do when you install Windows XP or you will get a blue screen and it does not start.

Don't forget chang back when you put it in your drive home hard sata.

  • Tecra M1 does not recognize the DVD drive after replacement

I am trying to install a new drive CD-RW/DVD-RW on a Tecra M1; However, when the computer does not recognize the drive.

Is there a solution to this?

    Thank you

    Colin

    For me it s case.
I would say that the BIOS can't handle the new player properly because of the wrong master/slave/c-salt settings
Readers slim for computers laptops support setting master/slave/c-salt settings and these settings can only be changed by changing the rider as on desktop drives.
So it is very important that you purchase a compatible player and supported because disks with incorrect settings will not work.

Before buying a car, you should ask the service provider to Toshiba for a caught player supported and compatible

  • Tecra M9 does not recognize the SDHC 4 GB

    Tecra M9, Windows XP

The internal card reader does not recognize the SDHC 4 GB (provider: "extreme memory"), being inserted in camera or PNA not connected via USB, no problem to read or write to the card.
No idea how to get the card to work with this card reader?

    Hello

    I have an idea.
I think that the SDHC 4 GB card is not recognized because a Microsoft patch is not installed on your XP operating system.

Microsoft has released this document which should help you to solve this problem:

  • Portege 7220 does not recognize the Extension of memory (Kingston)

    Hello

Recently, I wanted to update my old notebook, Portege 7220 with a 256 MB Stick of Kingston Ram. According to their website, it should work, but the machine does not recognize the memory at all. (just using internal 64 MB).

I can't upgrade the Bios either, because when I press F12 when the computer starts, it cannot read the floppy drive in the docking station. Do I need a USB floppy drive for that? I tried with a usb key, but it does not work. is there a possibility to redo an update of windows? (Comp running Windows 2000)

Thanks for your help, much apprechiated.

Only the TRAD of the BIOS version exists for this Portege.
This means that you will not be able to update the Windows operating system running, but you will need an external floppy drive to perform these updates.

    Regarding your problem of memory;
    Check this box:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5388&ft=m&St=3

You can find the compatible memory module. It s a PC100 144 pin SODIMM.

Maybe you used the not-entirely-compatible module or the module is defective

  • Satellite L30-113 does not recognize the two modules DIMM RAM

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite L30 113.
It has 512 MB of RAM and therefore struggled to run Windows Vista, so I bought another 1 GB of RAM.
    It's DDR2 553 MHZ (PC4200.

The problem I have is that the laptop does not recognize both DIMMs, i.e. the old 512 MB and the new 1 GB when they are in the whole PC. I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB. I tried the DIMMs around two ways but without success.

    Did I miss something?
They should be the same size as in the bad old days?
    What is going on?

    Thank you

    Adam

    > I tried the two DIMM individually in both slots and there is no problem, but when I install both the system sees just 1 GB
Seems that the two RAM modules are not completely compatible...
I've read several times on these issues and to be honest it s are not uncommon

I advise you to buy two identical RAM modules ad then to try again

I'm afraid there is no other solution for your problem of m.

  • Tecra 8000 does not recognize the new HARD drive

I read on this forum and Google search, but nothing helped.

I think the disk on Tecra 8000 (Pentium II, 266 Mhz) is "dead".
I tried to replace it with another laptop to see if that would work.

The laptop does not, even if I put just like the original.
Y at - it somehow special or what I have to change something in the Bios?

    Hello

Don t need to change BIOS settings

As long as you use the compatible HARD disk, the BIOS should recognize the HARD drive automatically without big problems
What drive did you use? What size, interface, etc.

The Tecra 8000 is an oldie and I think that you could use only the 4 GB; 6 GB; 9 GB; 10 GB; 14GB IDE hard drives.

More large hard disks would be not recognized by the BIOS.

  • 13 Alienware does not recognize the second ssd m2

I just installed an ssd in m.2 ADATA in the second slot, and while the drive appears in the bios and in intel rapid storage app it does not appear in windows as a usable drive.  What I understand is the original ssd in the 'c' drive and I it does not show as a "d" or any other player.  He also appears in Device Manager as well.  What should I do to make it appear as drive "d".

    Thank you!

Sounds like it needs to be initialized and formatted in Windows:

This means that you install RAM modules while the laptop is running?
I m wondering your laptop still works. Normally, you could destroy the whole motherboard and the module.

Anyway, to me it sounds like that your laptop isn't compatible with the memory modules vive. What modules do you have exactly?
I have good experiences with the Kingston modules.

  • Tecra M9 - does not recognize the 320 GB HARD drive

    Hello @ all,

I tried to install the HARD drive, but it seems to be not recognized by the BIOS. Any chance to get this problem resolved?
With Acronis Disk Man. I get an error message: No. HDD installed!
BIOS version is 1.80, HARD drive is a Seagate ST9320421ASG (Momentus 7200.3 320).

    Thanks in advance

    Hello!

Have you tested the HARD drive in a laptop or in an external enclosure? Maybe it s faulty.
Or you test another HARD drive in this notebook.

Normally a 320 should work in Tecra M9.
There is a new version of the BIOS on the Toshiba, but I doubt that the problem of the article, but try to update.
