Tecra 8200: flicker of brightness of the screen on the use of the battery

I have a Tecra 8200 running Windows 2000 Pro. The problem is with the brightness of the screen flashes intermittently, all a few minutes when it's on battery. The Toshiba power saver utility seems to work OK. his answer seems to depend on remaining battery life, that is to say less than 50% there is no difference between 'normal' and 'long life' with regard to the brightness of the screen.
Superior to 50% there is no difference between 'normal' and 'high power '. There is no problem at all when running on the current.

Recently, I changed the battery; the original was a PA3062U-1 bar, but the news is a PA3062U-1BAT. Can that be a problem?

Hello

The new battery is the right specification for this model of computer Tecra laptop and on I think that the battery cannot be responsible for this.

If you try what Tom suggested it please let us know about the results.

  • Tecra M5: Can I work without the battery?

    Hello

I have this beautiful new Tecra M5 double heart. The manual says I should cycle the battery once a month. In fact, I use my machine almost exclusively as a network connected machine and that it moves from one office to another, it is rarely used in this battery issue - it is, indeed, a mobile desktop computer. I took the battery of my previous Satellite Pro 6100 and it stack used for years, thus preserving the battery when it was necessary (bike occasionally). Can I do the same thing with the Tecra or is the battery a part required of the circuitry and should be left in place?

I'm typing this right now with the battery removed so I think that Yes.

I found this page on the Tecra 8200 memory modules:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=5841&ft=m&St=3

Looks like the Tecra 8200 would support Max 512 MB and you can use the 144-Pin PC133 SODIMM or memory SODIMM 144 pin PC100!

    I hope I could help a bit!

  • Satellite A210-1BX: XP Pro SP2 cannot change the brightness of the display

    Hello

    I have a 1BX A210 and I installed XP Pro with Service Pack 2.
I have almost all the drivers one moment I can't use the FN keys so I can't change my screen brightness and the battery life is less than 90 minutes.

With Vista, the duration of battery life was less than 100 min.

Is there another driver, I need?

    > I have almost all the drivers one moment I can t use the FN keys so
I wonder where you found compatible and support the XP drivers for this laptop?

I asked it because I ve a laptop computer A210 too which belongs to the series PSAELE like yours.

I have collected unique different A210/A200 series XP drivers and especially all unknown devices disappeared from the Device Manager.
But unfortunately I didn't find any compatible tool/utilities for this series :(

But the fact is that Toshiba driver page does not have all the drivers XP and Toshiba Satellite A210 PSAELE tools.
This is why you will not be able to control and use the keys FN under XP OS

Sorry, but in my opinion there is not a lot to do

  • Tecra S3 - how long the battery still works under normal conditions of use?

I have Tecra S3, I know the duration of battery power under normal conditions of use. It does not work for more than 80 80. It is still new to laptop.

    Hello

AFAIK the Tecra S3 has been delivered with the battery 4700mAh standard.
The Tecra S3 also supports other high capacity batteries. For example:

    PA3509U-1BRM 9-cell Li-ion 7050mAh
    PA3357U-3BRL 12Cell Li - ion 8800mAh

These batteries are much stronger than the standard battery and should works more than 80 min.
Additional if you think that there is something wrong with your battery life then I would recommend contacting the Toshiba service partner for the control of that party. But like I said above; These large capacity batteries are working longer than the standard battery.

  • Control the brightness of the LCD on Tecra 8200

My Tecra 8200 PT820E, at some point, has been formatted less Tosh. control software. Book of hand says go to the Panel control/power economy and alter the screen brightness it. Which does not exist on my machine.

The problem is when on battery, brightness level falls to a level that is unreadable. Is there another way to increase the brightness level?

    Thank you.

You can do this very easily using FN + F7 to raise the brightness level.
And I think that it is supposed to be the Toshiba Power Saver to look for this option.

This small utility can manage the behavior of the energy saving modes, and there is an option how display is obscured.

  • Tecra A2 - view the FN keys to adjust brightness of the screen don't work

    Hello everyone,

I've just set up my old laptop TECRA A2 with a newer version of Windows XP (including SP3).
Everything works fine. The only problem is that I can't access my FN keys to increase or decrease the brightness of the screen.

I installed all the drivers and I recognized that the problem is a not good installed saver, although I downloaded the 'new' Power Saver for the TECRA A2.

After installation it still appears the message; "You have no access rights to access energy savings." Now, it's strange that I have logged in as administrator of the A2.

As I'm still struggeling with this problem I ask really help and support.
Everything else works fine and well, it's just this question that I am not able to adjust the brightness of the display.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    Best regards
    JO

    Hello

You need to install the common Module first.
This module is an essential component of Windows systems.
He will perform the other original programming from TOSHIBA to work properly.

Then, you must install that many energy-saving he managed the brightness of the display.

  • Tecra 8200: If I use the moniter decrease brightness battery power

I have a laptop Toshiba tecra 8200, when I use it on battery moniter decrease brightness, I tried to adjust the power to the control panel settings, but there is no option for brightness (win xp)? anyone has idea how to adjust the brightness on battery?

    Hello

If I remember right you can set the brightness of the display by saving settings. Please start Toshiba Power saver. Check the part runs on batteries. There must be some NORMAL called marker profile. Click details, and then click standby power mode tab.

There monitor the brightness option. All the four options set at the maximum level. Now when you use your laptop on battery power the brightness of the monitor will be defined to the maximum level.

    Please test.

  • How to change the resolution on my Tecra 8200?

I have a Tecra 8200 laptop, but without any of the original entry with this portable CD system.
I installed Windows XP and you want to change the display resolution of 1400 x something to 1024 x 768, but after that, I have these black stripes, like a frame around the image.
How can I put this in place? I can't find a keyboard shortcut!

Second question: I have the problem that the screen is very dark ductless battery charger. I know I should use the power management standby, but I should install Toshiba other programs before installing the Power-Saver tool?

I hope that there is someone who can help me and understand my English!

    Thank you

    Hello

I found some info that Tecra 8200 comes with two different screens:
1024 x 768 pixel TFT color display and
    Color TFT 1400 x 1050 pixels display.

I assume you have the other. If you are using a resolution more low you can't wait for the perfect illustration and please use the native resolution. Please use the correct driver and you can find it on the Toshiba support page.

Robin's right. Before you install Power saver utility install common modules first. Saving settings using, you will be able to adjust the brightness of the display to the maximum level.
