Tecra 9000 - hardware malfunction with battery

Hello

If I only work with my battery I get the message:
Hardware malfunction
Call your provider of support material
NMI: Channel Check/IOCHK
Support has ceased

Last week, I change the battery but the problem is still on.

Hello

According to this Microsoft article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/222973/en-us, there is a hardware problem. In my opinion, you will not be able to record only. Contact the service partner in your country and let check the device. If this continues with the new battery too, I presume that there is some problem with electronic power to the motherboard.

This message occurs only if the mobile PC is running on battery power, or in other cases too?

  • Tecra 9000 - error message with Windows XP SP3 home edition

    Hello

I have a Tecra 9000 in very good condition, until yesterday, I have no problem!
After updating my Windows XP service pack 2 on the "service pack 3", everything works fine but when I press the button 'TOSHIBA controls' and 'mouse' for setting, Windows error message occure: "run a dll as an app"!

Even if I go to "Start" and "Control Panel" and press the mouse, after setting close icon, or just simply do nothing (cancel), the same message! I did not notice any other problem with the TOSHIBA utility!
My driver for mouse is "Logitech mouse ware, 9.40! Can you help me?

This oldie works well with Windows XP SP2 home edition and in my opinion you should use without SP3. Try to remove the SP3, and I hope that everything will work properly again. Problem is that the old tools and utilities designed for Toshiba probably aren't tested and updated to SP3.

I have more Satellite M70 and use sill with SP3. I don't want to risk anything and have problems.

  • Tecra S3: no start with battery attached

    Hello

My * Tecra S3 wouldn't boot * (XP Pro SP3) * with attached battery pack * (battery is not charged).
When the battery is detached it starts properly-, but works only with AC, of course.
The error is reproducible with different batteries (original, new)?

How can I exclude a unity electronics/loading of the motherboard error?
    Other ideas have really enjoyed.
    Thank you

    Hello

This means that you can only start without battery also when the AC/DC adapter is plugged?

If Yes, it has something to do with the motherboard, I think. I mean if the same thing happens with other batteries too it could be linked to the motherboard for example.

In any case, I think that the motherboard must be exchanged or contact you a service provider authorized professional assistance. They can help you and check your laptop. :)

  • Tecra 9000: SD card reader does not work with XP

I've made some progress on this issue, it seems that Cardbus devices cannot share IRQS, although the main problem is that FFDFB200-FFDFB3FF memory address is shared by the SD card controller and device memory SD card. Unless we find a way to edit the registry to resolve this conflict of memory, the simple answer is that the SD card reader does not work under XP.

I think that it would take a major surgery of the register or re-writing of drivers to move the address of memory used by the SD card device, I always work on this for now.

Can someone support Toshiba or Toshiba Marketing explain to me why my Tecra T9100 has a "Designed for Windows XP and Windows 2000" sticker on it, when Toshiba does fully support XP on the 9000 series?

    David

    [Edited by: admin]

    Hi David

Unfortunately, I n t think that you will find here a Toshiba marketing person or other departments. It is ONLY a user to user forum.

What you say, it is simply NOT true.

The Tecra 9000 was delivered with 3 different OS.
It was delivered with Windows XP Pro, W2k and Win98. You can order all the images of this Toshiba home Toshiba service partner. That's why Tecra 9000 does support Windows XP!
Tecra 9100 has been bundled with Windows XP and Windows 2000 and also supports Windows XP!

Of course, there are different models with a different hardware configuration, but all supports Windows XP.

I put t know why you get this error message or why you cannot use the SD card, but I guess you don t use the image of Toshiba. That's why you installed your operating system isn't properly. Because you are a newbie you don t know the Toshiba all the driver installation must be done in the right order and all Microsoft QFEs must be installed also.

As you can see you must pay attention to many important things if you want to manually install the operating system.

    Good day

I'm a bit woried it can be off somewhere because I can't Fn + F8 to work. There simply nothing. Is there another way to access the installation that displays Fn + F8? Maybe his game to bluetooth or something?

Any thoughts on one of these is welcome

    Hello

Tecra 9000 was equipped with optional WLan and module BT.
This means that not all units supports the feature WLan and BT.

Anyway, if you found the WLan and BT label background o of the device you T9000 should support these two features.

First of all, you must make sure that the WiFi network has been successfully activated. The material on the side of notebooks switch must be activated. The FN + F8 key combination switches between the BT and WLan. So if you want to use the WLan you have to use the FN + F8 key

I put t know why the keys FN don t work on your T9000. Maybe some tools and drivers are missing. So, try to reinstall the drivers from the Toshiba page. You should find it in the ARCHIVES.

I think the unknown device could designate the BT module and the driver missing BT.
The BT driver here could be downloaded from this page:

In my opinion, every single computer laptop part should be checked again!

  • Problem installing XP on Tecra 9000 battery

I just installed Windows XP on my Tecra 9000 and re-installed all the drivers via software Driver Genius Professional 2007. Everything worked fine except the driver of my battery (battery model: PA3084U-1BAS) and the infrared device.

I can't find the proper drivers. You can provide them for me?

Thank you very much for the help!

    Louis

    Hello

Usually the doesn´t need drivers battery. The only 'drivers' that needs to be installed (and which are limited to all the energy components in your system) are Toshiba Powersaver. If it is installed, then the battery stuff would be recognized.

    Please go here:

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp

Download and install the powersaver and other tools for your machine if not already done. Computers laptop Toshiba need their own tools to work properly and not just drivers.

    See you soon

  • Wireless with Tecra 9000 does not work

Hi, I have a toshiba tecra 9000, in the last weeks that I had problems with my windows xp, so I decided to install win 2000.

2000 is more stable, but I had a problem with the wireless card... I installed the latest drivers downloaded from the toshiba Web site... wireless card is installed successfully, but when I run the client Manager there is no way to find my access point...

I have no signal and cannot find any network... can you help me?
    Thank you

The laptop is connected to the access point with the installed XP?

First, please be sure that your card wireless network has been activated on the laptop in the right way.
The switch on the side of the laptop and the FN + F8 should be used to activate the wireless card.

Does AP support the same standard as minPCI installed wireless network card wireless. I mean A. B or G standard.
The router and the card should support the same standard to pair properly

  • Tecra 9000 has improperly installed keyoard. How can I change?

On my 2nd hand Tecra 9000 Pg UP / Dn, etc. end keys do not work. I poked a bit aroud and deduce what is it because the LapTops4Less have installed a keyboard key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 101/102.

I can't get rid of the old keyboard (uninstall, reboot just let the keyboard there) and I can't find a new keyboard to install (Control Panel-> add hardware).

Control Panel-> keyboard was told that drivers will be uninstalled when the machine is restarted. However, I reboot the machine, and nothing changes. Do not allow 'add a keyboard '.

I can't find any keyboard drivers on the Toshiba site so please, how to get the good installed keyboard or, maybe install a standard laptop keyboard and simply use it. ?

    Hello

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with the keyboard driver.
The case is simple... The malfunctioning of your computer keyboard.

I'm sure that if you replace the keyboard with one compatible, then all buttons working again

Then contact the ASP in your country and order the new keyboard for this device.
A keyboard replacement is not difficult, but if you n t know how to do this, ask a technician for financial assistance

All that s I put t see no reason for a discussion

  • The questions on my Tecra 9000

Tecra 9000, XP, only previous problem a year ago, when to replace fan. Installed by Toshiba.

So it's clear weird. My 'l' key types of himself. I should be what like word, outlook or any where where a cursor appears "l" s begin to appear by themselves - as if I was leaning on the l key.

I thought maybe it was a keyboard hardware/issue but when I click on any menu the selected operation jumps. For example if I click on the menu start, it is almost impossible to choose the desired option as the highlight jumps up and down randomly.

The only thing I can think is an overheating problem because it's worse in the late afternoon. In addition, it has been stupidly hot in my office recently.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Mitch

    Hello Mitch

It's a very silly situation when portable such things do on its own. If you think it may be an overheating problem, the best solution is to clean the machine from dust and leaving the camera to catch his breath. Watch closely if it will happen again.

It is not easy to tell what can be the problem, but if this happens only with a key it is possible that there are a few hardware malfunction. If I close down the l - key I have the same situation. Menu start is almost not possible to use as the marked parts are jumping up and down randomly.

If there is no contact with the solution your service partner. I'm sure it's just a default key L.

    Good luck!

  • Tecra 9000 display driver

    Hello

I recently acquired a Toshiba Tecra 9000. I added a new 40 GB hard drive and installed Windows XP. The standard display driver does not allow me to connect an external monitor to extend my Windows desktop on 2 screens, so I downloaded the latest driver on this site. However, when I try to install the driver (S3 Graphics SuperSavage/IXC 1179) a hardware setup error appears saying this driver has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify the compatibility with XP. There is no other driver to select on the Toshiba site, so I installed the driver. At first, everything seemed ok, but today my laptop has projected Blue 6 times within the last hour. I've now uninstalled the driver and have not had any problems. However, because I have everything installed display drivers display is basic at best.

No one else has this problem with the display driver for a Tecra 9000 with XP? Or anyone knows other drivers compatible with my model?

    Thank you

It's very strange! All the drivers on the Toshiba download page are the same as the CD Utility & Tools.
Is your TECRA 9000 a European model?
Try using the driver CD tools & utilities. On this way, you'll be sure to use a right.
