Tecra 9100 does not start, power light flashes

My tecra 9100 is boot is no longer, when I press the button works / laptop acts although it will start up (only for a second sheet) but instead completely stops and the light starts flashing in a sequence of (short 2, 1 x long, 2 short, 2 long, 1 short). I really need help, and I was wondering if anyone has had the problem before and knows how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi Thibault

I'm afraid that there is a problem with the electronic board. When the power led is flashing, it sends the hex code. This code should help technicians to see what the problem is with the laptop.

Only thing you can do is remove the battery and try to boot up your laptop. I don't think this will help, but you can try. If the same thing occur, you must contact services partners in your country and ask for help. Sorry! :(

    Hello

    It sounds bad
Generally, the power led will blink due to a malfunction of the equipment.
The LED provides a microcode and only the technician can read this code.
A common user is not able to read.

Maybe you'll be able to read this code, but you won't find any description about the meaning of the code.
I recommend you contact the technician in your country

    Hi mate,

could possibly be the RAM, so please check the RAM modules and remove 1 module if you have 2 of them installed.
Otherwise, I check if some another module of RAM is available and install the module of well known work. If this is not sufficient then I strongly recommend you to bring your machine to a service partner chartered for a balance of health/repair of equipment.

Please give some information about your situation...

P.S.: you can try to remove the battery and AC and leave the machine without power for about 24 hours. Maybe it helps?

  • Tecra 9100 does not supply power to the top

    Hello

I got Tecra 9100 laptop computer and you have a POWER PROBLEM.
Basically, it got stuck at the start of the OS and I was unable to click or move the mouse to do something. So I held the power button to turn it off. I do not turn on again entered game coz I had to go somewhere.

So when I tried to move THE next day and he won't power upward. I can see a GREEN LIGHT but can not hear any CPU, the FAN, the monitor or the hard sound. When I connect to the AC adapter, I can see the LOAD LED but nothing else seems to be powered.

I also tried to replace the memory Module, but still won't power upward. I guess that the motherboard does not have to be ABLE so nothing is turned. But the one thing that I do not understand why the POWER LED on (GREEN LED) is on, unless it has the power source.

Can someone tell me what I need to do?
    Help, please

    Thank you

    Hi Sonia,.

I suggest that you try to remove the battery and power supply so that all power of the laptop is turned off. Reconnect AC power and try to turn on the laptop. If it works, then re-install the battery. I think that the electronics of power sometimes get "stuck" and this procedure usually receives smooth them.

If the unit still does not power on after having tried the above procedure, then I suuspect there must be a problem of internal material in which case you must take the device to a partner of Service authorized for rectification.

    Kind regards

  • Tecra 9100 does not start in windows-black display

    Hi, just found this forum.
I have problems with my old laptop Tecra 9100 that ive had since.
I stopped last night, started this morning and now is no longer boots.
It gets past the Toshiba screen and windows xp scroll bar screen seems in good condition.

But then the screen turns black and does not go to the XP login screen.
But windows does not work because if I press on enter newspapers in my profile (I hear the theme music for connection etc, and the HARD drive light is on, connect to windows...) It's just that I have no display at all?

I also tried an external monitor, always the same, Windows XP, scroll screen still appears, but nothing else appears on the display.

Any ideas? Hardware failure? (But the toshiba screen and 1 XP appears)? , Because the OS (even thought I can connect, although "blind")?

    Thank you

It's strange... I put t think that there is a hardware problem because you can see the Toshiba start screen and like you say the Windows starts.

My first thought was that your display is set to external monitor
Looks like you have tested and nothing appears on the second screen?  :|
    Which is really strange.

In any case after the laptop started try to use the key combination FN + F5 to switch to another screen, maybe it helps.

You can also try booting in safe mode. Press the F8 key at the beginning.
    Then choose Safe mode.

  • My Tecra 9100 does not start correctly

    Hi all
    Please give me some advice.
The last time I used my tecra 9100 that it functioned very well. Then yesterday I turned it, it seems not initialize properly for the first seconds (light flashing disk showing done something) and then I heard a beep, and although the power was on, the hard drive light exploded.

Also during this time, my screen was completely black like when the laptop is turned off and has not changed at all.

What is going on? I can't know if there is a problem with my screen or the real hard disk (?)

I of course rebooted and rebooted and no change.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Hello Hans,.

You see the Toshiba "splash" screen when you first turn on your notebook? If you do then the display isn't obviously faulty and the problem will be with your hard drive. If your screen remains blank from the moment you turn on then it is most likely that you view is faulty.

It could, of course, also have problems with other components that cause the symptoms you describe, for example a failed motherboard.

  • Tecra 9100 does not start

    Hello
I have this laptop from my desktop without CD/DVD and HD and without battery (but with external power supply). I put a memory inside and when I start it there is 1 and on 2nd and 4th.
I don't hear any fan, and he seems to be dead.
    My questions are:
1 need the CD/DVD or HD to start (or run the fan)? Would be - this SD card enough to start the fan (I just want to know it works before you buy the rest). How to check?
    2. why 4 led is on - there seems to be a HD led (from the image beside him)?
I rather expect an answer if it is normal in this type of configuration to have on (although it seems odd that no current HD).
    3. is it 5th conduit (which is disabled) indicate the presence of cd (I have no manual)
    4. is it question which Bank is my game of memory dead (I have a chip)
    5. why my 6th led is off - does it mean at this point already wireless does not work (or it is turned off because it does not work yet as it can come later in the boot sequence)

    see you soon

There is a website where you can check if the memory purchased modules u was compatible. internal battery lithium (not the laptop battery) can also be on its way? I could be wrong, but I think it should be to check the basics first.

  • Tecra A8 - does not start, led is flashing with hex message

    Hello

My computer will not start and there is a flashing orange led light...

    There are * short 4 *, then * 4 long * light

    ==> in hexadecimal: * 0F *.

But I have found no documentation on the * led error codes *...

    Help me please!

    Hello

    > ==> in hexadecimal: 0F
    You are right.

    > there are 4 short and then 4 fire long
    That would mean: 0000 1111
Due to the least significant bit, must read this by behind: 1111 0000-> F0H

Unfortunately, there is no document published in the Toshiba page on error code meaning
I guess only the Toshiba ASP (certified partner) might provide these details and information.

I would recommend so get in touch with the local ASP to get some information about the error.
But to be honest, these errors are mainly related to a question on the motherboard and in this case mobo must be replaced.

    Hello

    What laptop do you use?

Seems the laptop provides a blink code. This means that a material error has been detected.
Usually short blinking means 0 and a long time means 1.
The authorized technician must be able to read such a code and to locate the hardware failure.

Above all it s something wrong on the motherboard!
Then I n t think you will be able to fix it. This is not possible if you have no experience and the right tools and parts of s.

So in my opinion, you must contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

    Good luck

    Help!

My Tecra M2 does not start. After the toshiba logo, a series of zeros (0) appear all over the screen.

    -CPU fan works

Any suggestions on how to solve this problem is greatly appreciated.
    See you soon!

    Hello

I think we can exclude HARD disk failure because you are able to format it in another computer.
As you suggest the RAM modules has been replaced but the problem persists
So in my opinion, a motherboard problem would be possible

But as you know, it of really difficult to say what might be exactly wrong
I think that the technician should check the laptop then it would be possible to say what part is malfunctioning

In any case, I think a motherboard might be affected

  • Tecra M2 does not start - the power light AC blinking orange

My friend has a laptop that does not start at the top. the AC power LED flashes orange. a long, short, long, short, long, short, long, short.

I checked the battery and reinstall the RAM.
    Any IDE?

    Hello

    I agree with go.
The ASP would be able to tell what means error.

Usually means short and 1 long: 0
So the error must be: 1010 1010
Due to the last significant bit (LSB), to be read by behind:
    So it now means: * 0101 0101 binary *-> it must be converted to hexadecimal-> * 55 Hex *.

Then, you will get a hex code.
But unfortunately, I m not very well which could mean this code

    So ask ASP for help!

  • Tecra A6 does not start with battery only

    Hi all
I'm having a strange problem with a Tecra A6 I picked up recently at the refurb because it does not start with a battery only: it starts only when / sector is also connected, but eventually DΘmarrer on battery alone (and works fine) with the power cord removed shortly after pressing the power button. It's just on battery alone, I get no answer by pressing the power on button (so the power outlet must be set at this first stage or I don't get anything).

Now I'm wondering if maybe it's the battery voltage? It seems that there are 2 options for this model, a 10.8 v and the other at 11.1V. With loaded Windows and Hardware Monitor reports running the battery is at 0% wear level and cool until completely (so I don't think that the battery is faulty), but it indicates that the battery is running at * 11, 1V, * but the battery installed is actually the * model 10.8v*. Could that prevent any power on only to batteries?

More information on the model I have:
    Tecra A6-PTA60E-0EJ013EN
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0 Ghz
    2 GB of Ram.

Thanks in advance for any help on this one. Essential, I would like to know is if I have a 11.1V battery to run this model correctly (and get it) on battery alone. If the voltage makes no difference so I guess it must be a weird motherboard problem and I need bother not buy a new battery.

    > Will have to buy another battery and see if the same thing happens (I'll know then if it is the motherboard), but in the meantime if anyone can let me know if the voltage is serious I would appreciate it.

To my knowledge, the batteries for Tecra A6 should take in charge 10.8V
There's piles more strong for example 5200mAh but the voltage must be the same 10.8

  • Tecra M2 does not start

I'm new havoing problems with my Tecra M2. can someone point me in the right direction with regard to breakdowns, I had a glance on the forum and the threads associated with the Tecra range but cannot find all threads that match my problem.

In a short time, less than three days, I had a problem that began with the laptp re start when it has been moved to now does not start at all. All the lights are what I expect of them with the exception of the HARD drive indicator, that does not illuminate at the start of the boot sequence. Does that mean that my HARD drive or the connection at the disk has failed, measures of observation of fault that I can follow to confirm or deny my fears would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

If the HARD drive is faulty, then you should not be able to start the operating system, but you should be able to see the BIOS splash screen.
You see that? Are you abele to access the BIOS?
    Please check this!

To access the BIOS ESC and F1 press immediately after the laptop has been powered! If this is not possible then there might be something wrong with the motherboard or any other piece of hardware like RAM.

If you are able to access the BIOS, then you should check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS.
You can also use the tool called Drive Fitness Test to verify the HARD drive!

  • Tecra 8000 does not start after the BIOS update

From one day to the other does not start my Tecra 8000 (400 MHz/256 MB BIOS 9.30 for years). After start-up, the disc starts to turn, but the screen including the backlight remains completely black, without red logo TOSHIBA BIOS is not accessible.

I got a new mainboard on stock, so I replaced it, and it worked. Unfortunately now my WLAN card now did not work properly. I tried several settings of the BIOS with no results, so I decided to do an update of the BIOS from 7.50 to 9: 30. After the upgrade, I get the message "ROM WRITE successful, utility completed. LEADER BIOS: Tecra8000 v 9,30 ". Because what either kept silent, I pressed the power button to restart and heard a long and many short beeps (endless). I could interrupt what pressing the powerbutton for 5s.

After turning on again I have the same problem as described in the first line :-( I can't get into the BIOS, but I can again update (with pressed F12). Once again these beeps.

What to do with these beeps after average BIOS update? I replaced the MoBo connector LED with pension. Processor, memory, keyboard and HD has remained the same. So, before I start disassembling the machine, please notify, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Joachim

I'm not a technician and don t know what the beeps but I am afraid that the BIOS chip is damaged. Because of this, the unit is completely dead. Sorry, but I really don t believe you can do anything. Maybe the new motherboard again :(
