Tecra 9100 - error IDE with new drive

I want to use a burner DVD UJ - 820B on my Tecra 9100, BIOS-Version 1.6.
If I change the UJ-820, I have IDE #1 error in the Bootscreen, and the device is not recognized.

No tool or the update for this problem?

A #1 IDE error normally if a wrong settings or connection together.
So I think that the disc is not compatible with the laptop.

Look in your user manual and choose a drive that is listed in the manual. Not every drive is compatible with any laptop.

  • Tecra 9100: After the CD/DVD drive upgrade IDE #1 error apears

    Hello!

I'm a happy user of Toshiba laptops, and I like my Tecra is even older. My setup is a PIVm 2.0 Ghz and a few days, I changed the HARD drive. This isn't THE PROBLEM.

Now, I have a 80 GB Seagate HDD and works very well. Days ago, I bought a DVD - RW, H - L space (Hitachi-LG) GWA-4082N, origin of another towing specifications.

When I boot the IDE #1 ERROR message is displayed. In windows works fine, recognized as the secondary Slave PIO mode only. I am integrating then, I searcehd the web and found solutions.

I've read on C - SALT and reversed the master/slave issue. I downloaded a firmware for Toshiba, same version for my DVD but nothing. In my opinion, is for Toshiba, but not for this model. So I tried the solution of jumper pins 45 & 47. 47 pins Cable sync/select and 45 is identical to 48 GND.

The solution is good half. I started the laptop and does not work, no more ERROR IDE. In windows is now secondary master UDMA Mode. Works very well...

THE PROBLEM: it's that I turn off the laptop, pick up the DVD, battery and Commander edge and when I reconected all back, the #1 ERROR IDE is sown again :(((.) Therefore, works, but sometimes it is not. What is the problem? Even with the 45 & 47 pins the message. I have readit pins 35, 36 is something CSEL0, CSEL1...

I do more short films? Or where I can find a good firmware for my drive or the software to mass the firmware...

Please read this post and I hope you can help me!

    Hello

As you already know not all ODD is compatible with a laptop because masters /slave and c - salt settings.
These parameters are controlled by a firmware and most often but not always these firmware located on sites of car manufacturing.

I don't think you'll find this firmware on the Toshiba site. It s recommend buying the good player but don't not to Flash the firmware.

Anyway, I also found the statement on the connection of the PIN 45 and 47 together.
This is a solution in time and not recommended because it will damage the other pins.

  • Tecra 9100: Delayed write failed - hard drives on their way?

    Hello again,

I am a member of the Club feared messages error "delayed write failed" and some of that my hard drives are to blame.

These errors pop - up when a large enough facility is in place, or whenever my system is written something great for my hard drives (which I might have to wait a while to complete). It happened before installing the battery Bluetooth Toshiba. My laptop has finally frozen during installation and all I could do was to move the cursor. 30 minutes in the installation, I get several of these stupid error messages. They say ' delayed write failed - file C:/xxxxx/xxx/xxxx was not justified perhaps due to a connection or hardware problem "(or something like that). When the message window there is almost no way to escape in out makes a power off. But when I turn on the back, I get the blue screen of death that checks my record of inconsistencies. It is very annoying and disturbing because it means probably that my hard drives should be cracking up.

After doing the search several times on the issue, I know it's my hard drives fault for sure. I have two hard drives; They both give me error messages. They must be on their way, after all I bought this 2nd hand computer laptop and they made noises strange "at delay." Recently, I noticed once they made a "beep" "beep". Never heard before so it cannot be good.

In any case, I think that I need new hard drives. Can someone recommend me one or two who are used to give me these error messages (and are relatively cheap at least 30 GB)? Thank you

P.S when I opened the PC health since the Toshiba Management Console it says '' drive S.M.A.R.T (disk 0) may fail soon. '' Ouch.

    Hello

Each HARD disk with adequate material specifications may work on the Tecra 9100.
The HARD drive should support an interface IDE (ATA-5) and should not be larger than 60 GB.
I'm sure that BIOS Tecra 9100 will support 30 GB, 40 GB and perhaps also the 60 GB.
But the larger sizes of HARD drive might not be recognized by the BIOS correctly.

By the way; You can make a call to the Toshiba authorized service provider in your country and could order the compatible HARD drive.
In this case, you will be sure that the drive is supported and runs without any problem to 100%.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think you should check the drivers in Device Manager.

  • Tecra 9100: Try to install updadet driver for card his Yamaha AC - XG

    Hi all

I got a Tecra 9100 and like many others I had problems after installing SP2.

I tried to install the sound card with the driver downloaded from the toshiba support page:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?service=EU&FID=TRO0000001b59

but I get a windows pop saying that the file yacxg.sys is missing.
Once the installation is complete and the sound card is not installed.

Is there anyone who can help me?

    Thank you
    Joazinho

The fact is that the driver listed in the FAQ from Toshiba is for SP1 and NOT for SP2

I think you should google a bit and should look for if you find an audio driver that is compatible with the Service Pack 2 update

Yamaha already provides the fixed driver.

The Tecra 9100 Series is compatible with 32-bit/3, 3V-PCMCIA cards?

    Hello

According to the specifications of the computer laptop Tecra 9100 is ready WLAN and can be upgraded with standard Wi - Fi 802. 11B. I have the same WLAN card on my Tecra M1 and I'm really happy. You can buy the Wireless (PA3189U-1MPC) recommended LAN card and like to be mobile. The transfer of data is OK and you don't need a better card for this good old classic.

  • HP dv6-2150us failure of recovery with new drive

My HP Pavilion dv6-2150us Win 7 64 bit computer portable 320 GB drive has failed.  I want to install a 500 GB drive for a replacement, but get an error message when about 35% through the process recovery disk.  I tried all three options, system reset factory and reduced to a minimum.  All fail.

The new drive can be partitioned and formatted easily into another computer.

    Any advice?

The problem seems to be the process of partition/format.  I partitioned and formatted the drive on another PC via a USB/SATA cable and was finally able to do thanks to the installation of recovery factory reset.  Watching the reboot process and installation of things.

  • Equium A100 - error NMI with pen drive

The Toshiba laptop works fine until I have install a USB key.

When a player is pushed into the laptop, a blue screen is displayed right path specifying the following: -.

    Hardware malfunction
Call your provider of support material
    NMI: Parity Check/Memory Parity Error
    The system is shut down

I tried various pen drives and all have the same effect. I even changed the system memory, hard drive and reinstalled Windows Vista.
I've been on google and people related to the problem of the motherboard, but not sure it can be if the problem occurs only with a USB plug. If I plug in a USB mouse, the system is fine.

Also memtest can't find any errors.

Look forward to your ideas on this.

    Hello

The error message _NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error_ sound more like a problem with the hardware as a software related issue.
I searched and studied a bit in the Microsoft Knowledge base and found this article:

+ Hardware malfunction results in system error message.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/222973/en-us/

Microsoft said that this problem could be related to different hardware issues such as RAM malfunction for example.
If you have changed the RAM modules and the problem persists then a problem of memory slot motherboard might be possible.

You should also check the BIOS settings. By default the BIOS.
You can also try to update the BIOS if a newer BIOS is available.

    Good luck

  • Tecra 9000 - error message with Windows XP SP3 home edition

    Hello

I have a Tecra 9000 in very good condition, until yesterday, I have no problem!
After updating my Windows XP service pack 2 on the "service pack 3", everything works fine but when I press the button 'TOSHIBA controls' and 'mouse' for setting, Windows error message occure: "run a dll as an app"!

Even if I go to "Start" and "Control Panel" and press the mouse, after setting close icon, or just simply do nothing (cancel), the same message! I did not notice any other problem with the TOSHIBA utility!
My driver for mouse is "Logitech mouse ware, 9.40! Can you help me?

This oldie works well with Windows XP SP2 home edition and in my opinion you should use without SP3. Try to remove the SP3, and I hope that everything will work properly again. Problem is that the old tools and utilities designed for Toshiba probably aren't tested and updated to SP3.

I have more Satellite M70 and use sill with SP3. I don't want to risk anything and have problems.

  • Tecra A6 - memory remapping with new BIOS?

Does anyone know if it is possible to upgrade the bios on a Tecra A6 to enable the memory remapping so that all 4 GB can be used?

    Shaun

    Hi spmontgomery,

Theoretically the BIOS update is no problem, but you should know this will improve the maximum RAM capacity because it s a limitation of the motherboard and chipset. Updating the BIOS will not help you.

As far as I know, Tecra A6 supports up to 2 GB of RAM and that s the most that you can use.

  • Satellite X 200-191 - error message with new BIOS

I have a bit of X 200-191 Satellite BIOS 2.70 on it when I used to install Configfree I get the message that my laptop is not a Toshiba. And I got the program that you can install from Toshiba that downloads the drivers of your laptop computer that is not a Toshiba. But when I load the old BIOS 2.50 every thing is good no message that it's not a nothing white Toshiba laptop the same drivers. Y at - it something whit the BIOS updated?

It does not occur when you update the BIOS of 2.50 to 2.70 only when you have 2.70 and do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit

    Greetings

    Hello

    > But when I load the old BIOS 2.50
How you installed the old BIOS? Older BIOS versions are not available on the Web from Toshiba site and the downgrade is possible to an authorized service because special BIOS update program is necessary.

Satellite X 200-191 belongs to the series of PSPB9E if you downloaded the update for this model or other model (PSPBUE) that would be a mistake?

I read similar messages here in the forum and the reason was a replaced mainboard and ASP has forgotten to write the DMI information. You change the motherboard?

I mean a hard drive faster and more 'heavy '. Thanks in advance
    Dr. Weekx R

    Hello

Tecra M2 was delivered with different drives.
You can use 30 GB; 40 GB; 60 GB and 80 GB of HARD drive. Perhaps also a 100 GB, but I'm not 100% sure about this HARD drive.
You can use the HARD disk of 2.5 inches with interface Ulta ATA - 100 and 8 MB of cache

  • Tecra 9100 - unable to connect to the WLan access point

    Hello

I have a Tecra T9100 with miniPCI WLan. I reinstalled XP Pro and all the drivers (downloaded from the Toshiba site) and I've always had a problem with Wifi:

I can see all access point (in the windows control panel), but when I click on connect, I received a message that the access point is no more...
He didn't ask me for the security settings?

    does anyone have an idea?

    Much thanks

    Leclere

    Hello

To my knowledge the Tecra 9100 was equipped with the wireless LAN standard: 802. 11B mini card PCI ORiNOCO.

You need to check if the WiFi signal is strong enough for a transmission correctly
I think that the signal of WLan access points is not strong enough because of the distance.

  • Re: Tecra 9100 - new HARD drive is not detected

I have a Toshiba Harddisk provide a Tecra 9100. Checking the BIOS it shows "Enhanced IDE", but you are trying to boot from the disc does not work HARD. Even trying to install a new operating system present, that the HARD drive is not detected.
From the laptop is also very long.
    Any idea?

Your new HARD drive is larger than 120 GB? The HARD disk controller supports the 28-bit LBA and large drives as 120 GB will not be recognized by the BIOS.

What you mean with Enhanced IDE? The BIOS recognizes the new HARD drive with model number?
