Tecra A10 - 15 c: HDD REMOVAL of REQUIRED PASSWORD
I have a laptop Tecra A10 - 15 ° c which has a Hitachi 250 GB hard drive.
My client was 1st a password CMOS and here after a HARD drive on the HARD drive password.
My problem is that the customer does not know what is the password for the HARD drive.
We were able to remove the CMOS password but now we're stuck with the HARD drive password
Does anyone know what software Toshiba use to place the security of password disk HARD low level
I am looking for a removal tool.
Thank you
Hello
You know the HARD drive password?
If not, then you will be not able to get out this person would be able to remove the password disk HARD unknown. In this case, the HARD drive is useless and you would for a new born.
PS; Here's a thread where you can find an instruction how to remove the known password HDD:

Tecra A10: Remove or disable 3G - map
Hello.
We prepare a roll-out of Tecra A10 on several sites.
In some sites, we would like to remove or disable the build-in 3 g-card (Modell F3507g).How to disable the fingerprint sensor, we use a very old version of tsuruwin.exe, but I do not see how to disable the 3g card. Requests for a version more recent or better are unanswered of our toshiba-sales-guy but his _months_ only 4 so I just have to wait a little longer.
If the sales guy does not, what are the options in question?
How can he be physically deleted (and reinsert 3 years later when the lease is in place?)
Or is there a software solution? Do not install the driver is not possible because of our environment, for example to allow us and supporting operating systems not supported toshiba, but some scripts don't behave well with a second connection to the "wired" LAN (what windows calls)... The scripts work with _one_ wired and unlimited "wireless" (what windows calls).Yes, because of the existing scripts, I can "fail" the A10, which can cause red faces, but at least my ass is covered by papertrail.
Thanks & bye.
Hello
I doubt that you will be able to physically disable it without removing the motherboard to be honest I put t know any software that would do that too
In my opinion you just disable it in Device Manager
I put t average a driver uninstall but just disableGreetings

Tecra A10 - 12z - cannot install Win XP - No HDD

I fixed my laptop and now I want to install a Windows XP operating systemWhen I install Windows xp, Setup Wizard download windows files, but it cannot start.
Troubleshooting comes up saying there is a mistake and try to scan drive hard with / f for fixing.
What can I do?
I am in need for the version of Windows XP.
My xp backup CDs are broken and I'm not in my country of today.Note: I tried to format the hard drive and also tried to install winxp on win vista, same problem same error.
Thanks for help.
Hello
You was not able to install the Windows operating system because you have not installed the SATA drivers that are needed to recognize the new SATA HDD controller.
The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manager. You can build an own Windows disc using nLite software and might include drivers SATA on this CD.
I recommend research and read the forum discussions related this topic.
There is a lot of discussion on the same topic!Welcome them

Tecra A10 HDD SATA drivers (Windows XP)
I need to download drivers Windows XP SATA HDD for Toshiba Tecra A10.
I searched all websites of Toshiba in the world and the closest I can find is "Intel Storage Manager" stating "Intel Matrix Storage Management utility to manage your local storage space, including support RAID, including drivers, you will need to provide the installation manual to make the HARD disk available to the operating system OS installer" in the description
However, the Intel Storage Manager cannot be installed on a laptop with XP is already installed. There is no drivers for the SATA HARD drive included in the compressed package I downloaded (stormng - 20080903143138.zip).
The SATA HDD drivers are available for this model? These are needed when you press F6 during installation of Windows XP, so it can detect the hard drive.
Thank you.
I think you should download the + 32 - bit floppy Configuration Utility for Intel Matrix Storage Manager.
You will find the unique SATA driver .inf and dll files. These files should help you!

Tecra A10 - lost HDD Recovery for Vista
Hello Toshiba,
I bought a Tecra a month ago. Here are the details:
Device name: Tecra A10 - 11L
Unit number: PTSB0E-00C006ARFor some reason I have to downgrade the machine in Windowx XP (using the CD-ROM supplied in the packaging recovery). I do not use Vista.
Now I need to go back to the factory installed Vista Business.
I didn't create a Vista recovery CD before downgrading to XP.I think I lost recovery disk for Vista.
Then I found the site to order: https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/serial.aspx
1. I'm not sure I'll order the recovery Vista or XP Media?, it shows (price (including VAT): EUR 29.33)
What recovery media that I will get?
a. VISTA Business recovery
b. recovery XP Media? (that I have)2 is there a hidden partition that I can use it to retrieve the vista?
Can someone help/guide me?
Sincerely,
Andrew
You are right. After installing Windows XP edition family the HDD recovery went and it cannot be used to install more factory settings. There is no hidden partition and you can't do anything.
I really don't understand why you ignored Toshiba reminder on creating recovery DVDs.In any case, I think that you will get Vista 32 Bit SP1 Business (EN) because with this OS is delivered and preinstalled Tecra.

Tecra A10 - 12O: installing the driver network card in Windows Server 2003 R2 Std
Hello
I received 6 laptop Tecra A10 - 12O, and we need to install Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition with SP2 in all these six machines. Windows Server 2003 has been installed perfectly, but now we have only the network LAN card to work but we are unable to install its driver. When I installed Windows XP from the supplied DVD for Toshiba, it says Intel 82567V Gigabit network adapter. I tried to download the drivers for this adatpor of drivers Toshiba, Intel Web site, but it will not install in Windows Server 2003. I also tried manually force to choose and install a driver from the list, I choose that it will install but shows yellow question mark in Device Manager means that it does not work with this driver.
I also tried the same Intel 82567V drivers from some sites non-Toshiba, of these models using the same network card, but is not truck drivers at all.
I understand these laptop computers does not support Windows Server 2003, but these were ordered to be used as servers with Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition and I am required to make the Installer only with activated and installed network adapter.
I try last week and exhausted all means to get the installed network adapter driver, but all have failed. Can someone please help with this? All support will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
Charwal
Hey Buddy
If I m not wrong Windows Server 2003 uses the same drivers as Win XP and I guess that it s driver problem not a LAN, but perhaps also the problem of Windows Server 2003 installed.
You are right; the LAN chip seems to be Intel 82567V and the LAN driver downloaded from Intel page should work 100%.
In your case, I would recommend installing the chipset driver.
Remove the LAN card from Device Manager, then restart the laptop.
Then go back to Device Manager and update driver in pointing devices Manager to the place where the driver downloaded LAN was stored on the HARD drive. -
Re: Blue screen in Tecra A10 during installation of Windows XP
Hello world
I try to install XP in a Tecra A10 and I get the blue screen of death each time I try. It's all beautiful download initially, but when it goes to 'Windows Installer', then the blue screen appears. Any ideas?
Thank you
I imagine that you didn t include the SATA drivers for Win XP operating system.
The new models of laptop computers supports the SATA HDD controller and a SATA drivers are required to properly install the Win XP or Vista. The SATA drivers are part of the Intel Storage Manager which is on the European driver Toshiba page.
I recommend the snatch and read some threads here in the forum about the SATA and Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers

Tecra A10 does'nt recognize 2nd HARD drive in the Bay of the STRANGE
Hello
My TECRA A10 - 1 HG PTSB1E does'nt recognize my second HDD that has taken the place of the cd-rom.
I use a SATA caddy and the boot of the A10 with a CD-rom error!
is it not possible to use a shopping cart with a TECRA A10?
Does anyone have a solution?Thank you for your experience of return.
Best regardsHello
I guess that the Tecra A10 does not support these updates.
The 2nd SATA controller does not seem to support the additional HDD instead of ODD.But I've read a few things to get such2nd as recognized HARD drive.
You must start the laptop without the HARD drive caddy in ODD Bay.
After that the Windows system has started, you can plug/connect the HARD drive caddy and system PnP service should recognize the new device.I think this isn't the best solution, but it seems like it s the only way to get this HDD caddy recognized in the Bay of the STRANGE

Tecra A10 - 12Z BIOS 1.6 wanted to move to 3, but 'not supported' - W7H32
There are many problems with this Tecra A10.
As Windows Xp is disabled, I tried Windows 7, which is too awkward, so I wanted to try the eSATA operating systems. Although I could install Lubuntu on eSATA it would not start (no hard drive inside most) to eSATA, but booted from USB.
Read in the forum and put the Windows 7 Home 32 disk inside again and downloaded the BIOS update only to get a response "not supported".
The A10 has a Windows Vista professional sticker slot, is the only OS where this Tecra can get BIOS updated?
We have no records of Windows Vista.
Installation of Windows 2000 or XP, it's really a lot of time, even for 9 x.
The last beta demoCD with eComStation, todays OS/2Warp, works fine on the Tecra, it has Windows integrated 3.11, is that not? Windows 3.11 on a SD card installation must be as fast and as possible. If there are drivers available?
ReactOS (freeWindowsXP) is usually able to boot, but it is still in the alpha stage!
As for flat BACK? There are the LiveCD with BACK.
You can also find Vista LiveCD socalled VistaPE CDs on the net, but their origin is unknown.
What is the best option? Is there only one option?
Hello
> Although I could install Lubuntu on eSATA it would not start (no hard drive inside most) to eSATA, but booted from USB
I guess that the BIOS does not support booting eSATA port but just the USB port.
But it's just an idea... that should be checked once more in the BIOS settings.
Maybe a BIOS update would also help.> Read in the forum and put the Windows 7 Home 32 disk inside again and downloaded the BIOS update only to get a response "not supported".
BIOS update may be run from under Windows system only. But the BIOS update also requires some software additional Toshiba which depends on the system.
In the case of Windows 7 or Vista, the value of added Toshiba package must be installed. In the case of Win XP, you must install the package of common Modules.
To be honest I don t understand what you want to do
Tecra A10 is a great unit. I have the successor called Tecra A11. I use Win 7 and its really awesome OS. Much better than the beginning of Win XP -
Tecra A10 - how to change the RAM?
Hello
I was wondering I just bought a new Toshiba Tecra A10, I just wondered how the change of the RAM, it comes with 1 GB of Ram I want upgraded to 2 GB or 4 GB.
The RAM slots are located at the rear of the Machine or below the keyboard?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.
Hello
Memory module compartment is placed at the bottom of the unit.
You can remove the screw clean the lid in plastic and then you will be able to remove this cover and access locations of memory.AFAIK, you can upgrade the memory for max 8GB (2 x 4 GB), but it's not necessary you can upgrade to 4 GB RAM and it is more than enough

Re: Tecra A10-19 t on Windows 7 64bits successes?
Hi all
I intend to buy a Tecra A10 - 19 t and its docking station (PA3508E). I'll order it with 4 GB of RAM so I'll format it the first day to remove Vista32 to install seven (I don't like Vista) 64 (want all available RAM).
Someone has a return facility 7_64 beta or RC (same RTM) on this laptop? No problem with drivers (video, BT, Wifi, audio,...)?Thanks in advance,
BELOKAN
As a general rule, Windows 7 can use the Vista drivers, drivers Win7 beta on the Toshiba site there we.
So if you can find drivers Vista 64-bit for the A10, there should not be problem.

Tecra A10 - no sound using Win XP
Hi all
I have some problems with the sound of my Toshiba Tecra A10. I have already installed the Audio from Realtek driver and I see the little speaker symbol down on the right side, too.But I don't hear anything. The Device Manager has a yellow question mark on "Modem Device on High Definition Bus" Audio.
I installed the Driver Modem Agere Systems, but nothing happened.
Can someone help me and give me a link for this driver I need.
I use Windows XP.Details of the material:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_02 & VEN_11C1 & DEV_1040 & SUBSYS_11790001 & REV_1002\4 & 9E9AEC4 & 0 & 0101
Kind regards
> I use Windows XP.
OK, although similar questions I with Win XP on other laptops with new HD audio from Realtek.
The point is that you have SP2 and SP3!The SP2 and SP3 provides important patches and fixes for the HD audio
Then firstly uninstall the Realtek audio driver.
Then install the SP2 and SP3.
Then go to Device Manager and remove the marked devices of yellow exclamation.
Reboot the laptop.
Now Win XP should find a new audio device and should ask the driver.
No, you must install the audio driver from Realtek.
Reboot once more and now the sound should works fine -

Tecra A10 - cannot install usb panasonic TDA drivers
Hello
I recently bought a laptop Tecra A10 on which I decided to exercise the choice of vista downgrade to windows xp pro.
I am trying to connect to a system of telephone panasonic TDA via USB.When you try to install the drivers, the system ends by crashes after trying to install for about five minutes.
I talked to panasonic technical support and they say that it is a known issue with installing windows xp OEM Toshiba and I have to get a good copy of xp to toshiba. Is there a patch so that I can do?
If not, how can I do this and will be toshiba give me a full copy of xp pro?Any help would be appreciated, this is a real problem for me because my job requires me to connect to these phone systems on a daily basis. I don't want to lose faith in computers laptop toshiba because I think they are great.
> I talked to panasonic technical support and they say that it is a known issue with installing windows xp OEM Toshiba and I have to get a good copy of xp to toshiba. Is there a patch so that I can do?
I put t believe that. Why? Because the image of Toshiba is not very different from a clean Windows XP CD. Toshiba image contains only the driver additional Toshiba and tools that s all that you would need such drivers even if the own Windows XP would be installed the theory given by panasonic technical support is very, very strange
> If not, how can I do this and will be toshiba give me a full copy of xp pro?
You can order a picture of Toshiba in an ASP, but you won't get any own Win XP disksIn your case, I would check the Windows XP updates
In addition, you should check if there are a few new updates for this phone TDA system
Also check if the BIOS is up to date, but to be honest, I doubt that it could have something to do with the BIOS
