Tecra A11 - 19 L PTSE0E: totally freezes sometimes

There are times that my Tecra A11 - 19 L is freezes and shows no reaction to any intervention by the user.
After that a few seconds I heard that the fan goes up to the highest speed-, so I guess that the CPU is running in an infinite loop.

The only way out of this State is hard to close the entire notebook.

Can anyone give me a tip solve this problem, or how to locate the faulty component?

Kind regards
WIDI

On this virtual path, it is not easy to tell exactly what is happening, but I imagine that this happens because of some background process that blocks your Tecra. Unfortunately, we can not say exactly what is happening.

Since when did you notice this? Have you installed any software or doing something that could be responsible for this?

  • Tecra A11 - 17 C - impossible to boot from LAN

    Hello

    For the last few days I worked on a Toshiba Tecra A11 - 17 c PTSE0E - 02W01GEN.

I work in a school and we have about 15 of these laptops. I was not the person who did the origonal installation and this person has not left.

One of the computers needed a re - build. We use an installation of LAN to windows 7 so I put prioraty device that the network card, save it and re - start.

Then, sometimes with the error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable.
Now, I know the NIC works fine beuse it worked before I did any messing around.

I then checked the other laptop and I get the same error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable and they all fully functional network ports.

So I thought ok there is something in the BIOS.
I found nothing apart an Enable lan option that is enabled.

It was suggested to relax the default BIOS and then format the hard drive.
So I thought ok well first I'll try it with the BIOS reset if that does not work, I'll do a format.

So after that it does not work I thought Okay I'll just clone your laptop work with clonezilla.

Do I get to the windows flag then instantly the blue screen of death, I can't read it so I is much too fast.

I thought ok I swap hard drives with the work there. The boots work the clone hard drive just fine without error at all, but the work PC hard drive load the windows flag then blue screen of death.

I then used a product recovery disc now, it's a drive of windows XP is usless. But I did anyway, and same thing again, it turns the disc fine install XP fine but the flag windows and blue screen of death.

I finally intertwined a hardrive work 1 different working laptop and a same new blue screen of death in wondows flag.

It seems to me there must be something on the bios that is
    (A) stop the network port in the bios
    (B) stopping the different hard drives to work in the laptop, even if it's exactly the same laptop.

They built from the network before for the wondows current installation works, but I have no idea what to do now.

The error PXE - E61 Media Test failed, check the cable means that the laptop has attempted to boot from LAN, but the configuration of the installation could not proceed.
    Why?
I m not very well why, but probably there is something wrong with the PXE server settings, etc.

Are you sure that PXE server has been correctly configured to 100%?
If this is not the case, check this box.

    > I then used a product recovery disc now, it's a drive of windows XP is usless. But I did anyway, and same thing again, it turns the disc fine install XP fine but the flag windows and blue screen of death.

Always is Win XP installation could be completed, and this means that the HARD drive should be ok.
The BSOD could be due to incompatible software or wrong / driver that is part of the recovery disk

Are you sure that the Win XP Recovery disk you used was the right one?

How about installation using charge Windows 7 system using the disk of Microsoft?

  • Cannot open files locked by using fingerprints on Tecra A11 - 17 H

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Tecra A11 - 17 H - PTSE0E-03402EFR
OS is Windows 7 64 bit

    Here's my problem:
I blocked files (image, text) with fingerprints, while I was running Windows XP Professional.

I copied my files without unlocked on external hard drive, and then uninstalled XP and installed Windows 7.
After the relocation, the fingerprint reader has stopped working.
I had to download the drivers and software on the Toshiba site.

I then put my transferred on the external hard drive on the computer, but now it is impossible to open the file.
Extension has been changed (automatically), an fpl. came to added after the original extension.

I tried fpl removed, but nothing happens.
When I right-click, I do not have the option 'unblock, but rather "to protect the file".

I understand (reading the forum) that fingerprinting technology TPM consists of a microchip containing a unique computer decryption key.
Theoretically, it would be possible to unlock my files, since it is the same computer...

    Help me please...

    Please read this:
[Cannot access protected fingerprint after recovery files | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9802O50000R01.htm]

    _Issue: _
A user can access its files of fingerprints protected when you save these files on external storage as for example a network drive and perform a recovery or reinstallation of the operating system on the computer where the files are protected.

    Individual: _
AuthenTec fingerprint software provides a feature called 'the file/folder protection' which gives the user the ability to protect files without worrying if stored locally, on an external (USB flash memory) or network storage with either a password or stored fingerprints. After you protect the files, they cannot be moved/copied/deleted until the user Déprotège them.

The first cause of the above mentioned scenario is due to the fact that the fingerprint software "Authentec" creates a link between material installed fingerprint and file system on the HARD disk that functions as a key. This connection is deleted after a formatting or removal of the hard drive of the computer. Without this connection, the files are no longer accessible and the user will not be able to unprotect them since there is no "key", that could unlock the file protection.

    _Resolution: _
To avoid any loss of data caused by this scenario, * you need to unprotect the files before storing the files on external media * for purposes of backup/storage and then reinstall the operating system.
Generally, users should make sure to keep a backup accessible to external storage of data corruption and data loss.

But I don't very well if this was related to the BIOS m

However, you can try to update the BIOS (if new version is available)
Update the display driver can be useful too especially if screen turns black during start-up of the device

    I am trying to install the drivers for XP on a Tecra A11 AHCI;

I have a ghost image that loads on this laptop in compatibility mode in the BIOS and I try to update the driver for the drive in AHCI controller, restart & change the disk to AHCI mode in the BIOS.

That's what I usually do for HP laptops, we have, and it works most of the time.

Storage power Toshiba drivers are in the form of an executable that will only work if you have AHCI enabled, how anyone runs in compatibility mode supposed to use these?
They don't even extract driver files, you can use only the .cab files and an installer.

  • Tecra A11 Touchpad Windows 10 questions

After upgrading my Tecra A11-182 (PTSE0E-0LP046GR) for Windows 10, I have problems with the touchpad. The cursor jumps from time to time in other places on the desktop, as in Word 2010. Y at - it a new version of the driver for this device? The Windows Device Manager indicates that the most recent driver is installed. Thank you for your suggestions

    Achim

The cursor jumps because your palm makes contact with the touchpad while you type.

The advanced settings of Touchpad has an option called "Disable tapping" or «Disable the Touchpad when typing»
If you do not have these settings, you must update the driver for the Touchpad (Synaptics or Alps) that is compatible with Windows 10.

  • Tecra A11 - cannot start the BIOS update

    Hello

I downloaded the latest update of the Bios B2.50 - EC1.80 for Tecra A11-127 (PTSE0E. Wenn I start installing, an error occurs: "this computer is not supported", but my laptop is an A11-127 with Partnumber PTSE0E, why it doesn't work?

Why is he not possibel to download an old Version of the Bios?

    JSpindler

    Hi jspindler,

The question is why you want to update the BIOS? This update should be carried out only if it of really necessary. In addition, only the most recent update of the BIOS can be downloaded as it fixes most problems.

In any case, you need to start the BIOS as an administrator and you should decompress all files from zip archive before start you. Also, make sure that the value added package is installed.

By the way: what operating system is installed?

  • Tecra A11-13 q - are there drivers for Windows 7 32 bit

    Hello

I want to buy portable (as in the subject).
In the shop, there are only 64-bit Windows 7.

My question - is there drivers for Windows 7 32-bit system if I want to change the system?
Or I have to use only 64 - bit.

And another. I found on the web that models the Tecra A11 form are - PTSE4E, PTSE1E, PTSE0E and in stores there are models such as 13 q, q 11, 131? who's who?

    Hello

Yes, it seems that Win 7 32-bit drivers are available on the European driver Toshiba page.
    Check just.

But even if the drivers are not available, you can install the Win 7 32-bit operating system.
In most cases the Win 7 OS devices automatically recognize and install the common drivers in very rare cases, you will need to get the drivers on 3 third-party pages

But as I said, it seems that the 32-bit drivers are released

    Welcome them

  • Tecra A11 - less than 10 ips in Skyrim on

    Hello
I have a Tecra A11 i7 which came with a wiped HARD drive
I installed win 7 pro and the drivers from the Toshiba site, including the pilot Intel Turbo Boost Technology.

Even with all the settings set to low temperatures, vid Skyrim runs only less than 10 frames per second.
I upgraded 4-8gig ram, but this did not help.
The GPU is Intel, so I can't use Geforce experience.

I have a Dell Vostro V131 i5 which takes place to better Skyrim.
But the screen is smaller and i/o ports are 90% of dead, so I'd rather use the Toshiba.

There are 4 "unknown devices" in Device Manager, but none of them look relevant.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thank you

To be honest, I have no reasonable explanation because I don't have this video game and can not test it on my Tecra A11 - 19M.
In my opinion this Tecra is typical business very bad for the games and the machine for office work.
It does not offer good graphics performance and it is not the best for gaming.

I use it for daily activities and games use different model Satellite P with nvidia GPU.

  • Tecra A11 - 1EG - cannot be accessed after the supervisor setting BIOS password

Hello, I would like to know if anyone can help?

We have started to put a supervisor on our laptop Tecra A11 password so that our students can not set passwords on the hard drive, etc.

To enter the BIOS and set a BIOS password, press us F2 that the machine starts.
Then we go to the security option, then supervisor password.
After entering the password we use twice, press us F10 to save etc.

The machine starts ok and will windows smoothly.

The problem we have now, is that we cannot go back into the bios at all.
As machine starts support us on the "F2" key as before, but unlike previously the screen remains white and the "Toshiba leading Innovation > ' screen no longer appears."

If we keep our finger on the F' key or continue pressing the laptop restarts just without ever get to the BIOS screen where I guess that get us ask the supervisor password that we set earlier?

Is there another key, that we should be pressing that start the laptop?

I would add that we have added a password of supervisor for the screen of security BIOS on three of our laptops and all three have the same problem.

    Thank you

    Steve

I think this should be useful for you:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB0B032D0000R01.htm

In some cases, you need to press the "INS" in Toshiba logo appears.

Then appears a prompt for the password for the supervisor and if the password is certified then the BIOS could be entered by pressing the "F2" key

  • Tecra A11 - 113 - white screen and the cursor of the mouse during the boot

    Hello

My Toshiba Tecra A11-113 with win 7 32 bit boots with a mouse cursor and the visible white screen.
I tried to start under different boot options. Mode, safemode, last repair job configuration
and msdos command only... all these startup options give the same result.

I also tried with win 7 32 bit dvd, but same result.

I am able to access the C drive by booting with a linux key, so the data is visible.

Can someone please give me a solution?

    Thank you

What happens if you access the BIOS? Is menu visible on-screen BIOS?
Turn on the unit F2 button and press.
This should allow you to access the BIOS.

If you will be able to access the BIOS and see everything as usual, then the screen is OK and I think there is a problem with your installation of Windows System.
So boot from the Toshiba Recovery disk should help you solve this problem.

You said that you already tried to boot from the Windows DVD disc is this Toshiba Recovery disk? In my opinion, you use this disk to restore the laptop to factory settings.

  • Tecra A11-110 (PTSE1E) does not load

    Hi all

    Recently my laptop stopped charging.
The battery is new and worked for a while. It works on another laptop.

When I connect the charger, the laptop gets power, but it does not load. I guess it's always work around.
Is this a mistake in any sensor motherboard?

    How can I fix?

Is the motherboard 'dead' (for this purpose)?

    Thanks in advance.
    See you soon,.
    Hugo.

Have you noticed the problem of load using the old, original battery?
If the old battery may be charged correctly, I don't think that there is a problem with the laptop.

You said you have tested this new battery in a laptop.
Have you tried using another model Tecra A11?

    Your comments would be appreciated.
