Tecra A2 - Panda VirusControl - Help!

Hello

Can someone help me with this, or make suggestions? I had a BT call yesterday to say that my computer had a visus affecting my account to broadband by launching all kinds of wickedness at random by e-mail! They then sent me a number of virus scanning options, I did. Panda has identified a number of problems so I downloaded and installed the Panda Titanium 2006 Antivirus + Antispyware, apparently with success. However, when I then tried to restart, I can't seem to login screen and a Panda icon appears randomly in the corner right bpttom. Don't you thin my laptop is dead, or is there a solution.

Thank you

Hallo Marion

It's really not easy to say what the problem is here. Software Panda is not known to me, but you can try to start the machine in safe mode. After pressing the power button / stop press F8 and select Safe mode.

In safe mode try to start the panda software and scan any HARD drive with it. Maybe it will work.

  • Tecra M2 Modem Please Help

My Tecra M2 modem stopped working all of a sudden, he worked the previous night, I don't know what happened. I have not installed or whatever it should be deleted. When I try to connect to my ISP, a message saying Error 797 port not found. When I checked my modem properties in Control Panel, it says recognizes the driver, but is unable to display the port to which it is connected, everything he says is 'away', I know that this should normally specify COM3. When I check the Device Manager, there is no modem is displayed in the list of devices. I tried to reinstall the drivers that came with the laptop and also tried the drivers updated from the Toshiba site, but nothing helped. I even tried to use the recovery disks and did a new install, I worried that there may be a hardware problem. Please advise, your help is very appreciated.

    Hello Kofan

The explanation for the error message, you can find on http://www.modemsite.com/56k/duns797.asp.

My opinion is that, after the installation of operating system recovery CD with all hardware should work fine. If the modem device is not listed in Device Manager, it can be a hardware malfunction, and in this case the device must be verified by the service partner. I'm sure there's a valid guarantee and all costs will be covered.

  • Tecra HDD crash - how to retrieve some important data?

It is a follow-up question to my last question answered successfully.
My Tecra 60 GB HDD has stopped working and I would like to get a few days of emails etc if possible.
The Tecra default Mode options without failure, once launched, returns via a BSOD no matter what the safe mode option is taken.

    I have:
checked in the BIOS - it is considered as here.
run SEATOOLs for Dos and it says that there is a flaw on short and long tests
the HARD drive via a box connected USB to my other PC and finally it say that there is an input/OUTPUT error.
Ran CHKDSK through my CD of XP and after 26%, he says there are one or more unrecoverable errors.

Also, I tried an old HDD that is functioning normally in the Tecra.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Concerning

    > connected via a case and USB HARD drive to my other PC and finally he says that there is input/output of error.

This means that you are not able to get access to the same HARD drive using an external USB enclosure?
It seems that the HARD drive is damaged and in most cases, the data could not be retrieved on the usual way.
Of course, there are various services of data recovery, but they charge between 500 and 1000 to try to save the disaster either logic or mechanical data.

There are also different tools that could be useful as RecoverMyFiles of GetData, Ontrack EasyRecovery DataRecovery or Data Rescue II of Prosoft, but you have to pay for all these professional applications

  • Re: Request for help with Tecra A10-156 (Vista backup media)

    Dear members of the Forum

I am the owner of a laptop Toshiba Tecra A10-156. As the owners of this model will be aware, the machine is supplied with Windows Vista pre-installed. Also supplied is a recovery of Windows XP Professional disc, which, once loaded on the machine, remove everything on the hard drive, including the operating system Vista and the Vista hard disk recovery partition.

The documentation that comes with the laptop warns the user if he wants to take the Windows XP program on the computer, it must burn a DVD of backup software vista before you load the XP image because if it loads Windows XP without doing that then he loses everything to do with VISTA on the machine.
Unfortunately, when I bought my machine, I did exactly this error and load Windows XP without backup Vista Software. Load the XP dvd, hard drive was completely wiped out, including not only the Windows Vista installation, but also the recovery partition.

Although windows XP is a good operating system, I would like the ability to restore my machine to the factory setting. When I asked what to do with Toshiba, they said that the only way they could help would be to sell me a backup DVD of Vista recovery which would cost me a little money. (more than thirty books).
They also mentioned that if I could find another owner of A10 - 156 using vista would be ready, they could burn a DVD using their recovery from vista machine and then I would be able to use this DVD to do the job.

As I know personally of all other owners Tecra A10, I am writing to make a plea to ask if some A10-156 (it takes as the exact model) owner would please that nature to let me have a copy of VISTA backup medium please. Of course, I'd be more than willing to pay a total amount of the Virgin DVD (s) and shipping costs.
If someone is willing or able to help should I very grateful indeed and hope to hear from a fellow A10-156 owner as soon as possible.

    Yours sincerely
    Ian in the United Kingdom

I hope someone here can help and maybe you should put your e-mail address for direct contact.

I broke my Toshiba Tecra m5 case.
Can you help me to buy a new one? Or buy something back to that connect to LCD screen with most of the cases (I put t know what he calls, perhaps "first category").

Please send the answer to the e-mail: [email protected]

In my opinion the ASP (certified partner) in your country should be able to help.
Guys can directly order the necessary parts of Toshiba and could help replace too.

Therefore, contact with the technician of ASP and ask for the manipulation of the Fryer!

I would be grateful all the tricks for installing the ssd drive in my Tecra!

    Thanks for your time,

    Hello Paulo

As far as I know that some models are available with drive HARD and some with SSD these models with SSD have small SSD support. SSD is fixed by 4 screws in this medium.

I put t really know how to help you now. Maybe you should contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. I think they can check the part number of this door - or maybe order one for you.

  • Tecra 500 CDT does not start. Please help with CP

    Hi all

I have an old Tecra CDT of 500 which, up until yesterday, worked fabulously. Now for some reason it starts at all. No matter how long you push the Start button on the side, he shows no signs of life at all. It's been hot here lately so I wonder if it's suffering "heat exhaustion! Seriously, clues as to what could have caused this problem and how to overcome it would be greatly appreciated. It has been used much more recent than usual and for hours. Is this likely to have helped him give up the ghost?

I hope someone out there can help.

    Thank you
    Dynamo-dom

    Hi Dominic,

It would seem that your laptop has developed a hardware failure, either with the current power switch the PSU internally. I think that your only action now is to contact a service partner and ask them a price that it be repaired.

  • Need help installing a Tecra 8000 wireless

I just bought the wife an old laptop tecra 8000 and like to run wifi on it, I bought a d-link router and a d-link usb adapter, but he said I would impose a usb high speed and it n, t, raise the router a pcmia card would work better, also can anyone suggest a modem/router and card that works on it, any help is appreciated...

    Hello

The Tecra 8000 supports only USB 1.1 standard.
Are high speed USB 2.0 ports
Many USB devices are designed only for USB 2.0 and I guess that your USB WLan adapter also supports the 2.0 standard.

The PCMCIA should work better. There is no standard limitations as on the USB ports.

That looks terrible, I have a headache looking at this screen :)
Anyway have you checked if the same question would be visible on the external monitor?
    Check it!

I mean that it would get more details about the failure.
If the question seems too much on the external display, a graphics card might be faulty.
If the external monitor is fine, the problem is only to s for laptop screen.

  • Tecra 9100 - help to choose RAM

It comes to earlier put that on for some reason any got locked and marked "assumed answered", when in fact it wasn't.

Eldorado reported me to the answer of Markus77. Thank you, but Markus77 or Eldorado say they tried the modules that listed there and actually pushed them to work in a Tecra 9100. The link in the response of Markus77 only points to one of the many similar provider sites I've seen, who say that the 2x512MB modules are supported. The point is, Lewislite had tried about 5 different brands/replacements and none of them were all-purpose, that they either slow his system or it could not start at all.

I asked, because I want to upgrade my current 512 MB too, if someone had actually he managed successfully on a Tecra 9100, or if it is one of those rare instances of a model with a motherboard that is insufficient to hold over the limit prescribed by the manufacturer, which for the 9100 by Toshiba 512 MB of cache. Maybe because most of the laptops will accept 2x512MB, suppliers assume just the 9100 will do too and so offer them to anyone willing to buy them. But has anyone actually done and got to work?

The fact that Toshiba are 512 MB modules is not in itself a response, because they could be directed to other models. The fact remains that Toshiba say the maximum the 9100 is 512 MB, and Lewislite tried 5 different modules to try to go beyond that and found that none of them would be.

Then, everybody in fact successful to do a better job Tecra 9100 with more than 512 MB or have memory suppliers are mistaken for this model?

Had a look at the detailed Tecra 9100 here: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp?nav=Download

It shows that Kingston 512 MB KTT3614/512 RAM is compatible. I am assuming that you can run Modules 2 x 512 MB.

Make sure you use PC2100 DDR memory. PC2700 should work, but there may be a compatibility issue.
