Tecra A3-151 - Realtek AC 97 no sound

Bought a 'cleaned' Tecra A3-151 (from a reliable source, bought several wiped own laptops from them before with no problems) installed Windows XP on it for a particular use, but despite my efforts produced no sound.

Everything indicates that the sound card works - volume icon showing on the taskbar, audio tracks showing that 'play' in media player but no sound through the speakers or headphones. All drivers are showing as properly installed and any drivers missing. I uninstalled and reinstalled, is taking the usual power and by removing battery and obvious controls on audio controls (mute etc.)

I would like to get it operational and would be grateful for any help/suggestions.

Thanks in advance :-)

My A3 sound worked until I did a Windows reinstall. Used dirvers "realtek". Power led on the speaker is on a port audio disconnect/reconnect on the front of the A3 gives a crackle every time so to my way of thinking the sound side should work. Even tried an external sound card.

As the sound was working upward until the reinstallation of Windows, well, I'm no techo by a long shot but he didn't gave me no pleasure that someone else has the same problem and I feel will be the same difficulty.

    Hello

Have you already checked the Realtek HD audio Manager located in the control panel?
There are various tabs like speakers or Microphone.

I recommend the microphone tab where you can find different parameters such as the recording level and reading level.

You can also activate the remove noise that is also part of the mic

    Hello world

I still have problems with the sound on my m T9100 and it seems that other people have the same.

I bought the laptop with dead mobo then had another to replace and not laid out fresh installation of XP Pro Sp3 and its place and running problem, but no sound.
After reading the other discussions on the topic, I used my Toshiba Recovery discs and all is well but still no sound.

I tried to update the drivers for the card his Yamaha but still not good. So I got another sound card and knowing that he s a good.
I mounted it but guess what no sound, at the moment its running Xp pro but I n t updated all the service packs.

If I used the recovery disks surely it should work because the way you would a obtained again! I m lost now and don t know what to do.

If I uninstall Yamaha altogether and restart I get found new hardware audio controller. Can I get found new Yamaha sound device, and then get Yamaha didn't install and could not function.

    Ideas please fly

    Hello

The problem is that your Yamaha sound card driver does not support the SP1 or SP2.

You said that you have installed XP Pro and Sp3.
SP3 can be installed ONLY if SP2 has been installed too so the reason why you n her t get is clear; compatibility issue between the Member States of service packs and pilot of his Yamaha.

Please see the page of the European driver Toshiba. In the Archive-> Tecra-Tecra-Tecra 9100 > 9xxxx-> driver sound >, you will find two different its XP drivers.

    Try to update!

  • Satellite A300-1NO - Realtek in Windows 7 sound card problem

    Hey guys!

    I have a laptop A300 1NO and trouble with realtek audio I installed Windows 7 (x 86, 32-bit) driver.
When I had Vista, I had 3 options to define how I want to record sounds. There was a microphone, microphone on the front and a "third option" which recorded the voices directly from the map its (perhaps waveout) and not by the microphones.

Now, I can not find the 'third option' (record sound directly from sound card) just two microphone options. I can see the devices deactivated and disconnected too, but it still does not show me the 'third option' :(

The freshly installed Win7 recognized my sound card and I got sound on that but he wasn't any icon 'realtek' in the control panel to change the preferences, as in Control Panel of Vista. I uninstalled it from the Device Manager, after that I install 6.0.1.5559 version (I've used it with vista x 86, 32-bit) but still the same problem...

I don't really know what to do...

    Hello

To be honest that I understand really what you would expect from an OS that is not released or not on the market yet...

It takes a few weeks or months more until the official drivers will be available for Windows 7. It s the same as on Vista and XP. After the liberation, most of the drivers have been released.

You can try some beta drivers for Windows 7 from the Toshiba page we.
But that's all you can do at the moment.

    Hi Paul

No answers I'm afraid - just solidarity. I have the same problem. I have also reinstalled the audio driver and run all the diagnostics. He solved once to do a return system restore to before the problem occurred and got my sound back for a time - but it happened again and this time a system restore does not help.

  • No sound via HDMI after upgrading Vista to Windows 7

    Data sheet:

    HP Pavilion Elite m9515y

    Sound:

    Realtek ALC 888 chipset s

    Video:

    GeForce 9600 GS

With the original operating system Vista, I could right-click on the speaker in the taskbar and select the playback device and make the default output HDMI.  I erased my drive and installed Windows 7.  Now under the playback devices I have not the HDMI option.  According to me, speakers, headphones and Realtek Digital Output.  Sounds works fine with speakers or headphones.  I tried to install the latest audio and video of Nvidia and Realtek drivers.  I tried to go back to the original Vista drivers.  Nothing works.  At the moment I use a stereo cable to connect my PC from the headphone jack on my TV, but wish that I could get good audio HDMI works with Windows 7.  Anyone else having a problem with these chips sets?

    PROBLEM SOLVED!

The motherboard has two S/PDIF outputs.  A pass by a connector and the wire internal graphics card HDMI.  The other goes to a RCA Jack on the back of the computer.  During normal operation of Vista, the driver probably did some function to determine if the HDMI connection is used, so that it does not disturb the owner of a system without card HDMI with this audio port additional inaccessible appear under their playback devices.

Unfortunately, the BIOS or the audio driver or video card driver require an update for Windows 7.  No matter what function is used to detect if the HDMI connection is present does not, if ever it comes in the playback devices.  I hope someone at HP or Nvidia, Realtek is tuned for this.

Until the corrected drivers or BIOS, I found a coaxial wire thin with an RCA connector on one end and who connected to the Digital Audio output on the back of the computer, transferred this thread in my machine, then cut and solder this wire over the graphics card HDMI input S/PDIF.  It seems stupid, but works like a charm.

So ends 3 days of aggravation.

  • Tecra 9000 running W2k - driver for the Audio controller problem!

    Help, please!

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra 9000 and recently discovered that the sound was no longer working. I'm not sure exactly when he first stopped working, but believe it was with MS Windows 2000 Updates or when cleaning PC after spyware attacks. While they inspected the real device (Yamaha AC - XG Audio Device), it has each if useful ""! "with a ' Code 10 - device cannot start", in the "Device status" screen
I removed the device and allowed windows to detect & install, without success, then downloaded and tried many devices and generic drivers, drivers and
even later as suggested on a Web of Toshiba site, I find
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com namely;

    Driver date: 22/05/2001 Version: 5.12.1.2138

I'm at a complete loss as to why it has stopped working and what to try next to try and solve the problem. Any
help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

It is possible only after the installation of the MS Updates that the audio driver is blocked by a load of your system and no sound can be heard.

If you want you can try to install this driver:
    http://drivers.Soft32.com/driver/download-Yamaha_AC_XG_Generic_Drivers_for_YMF753_743_752-24609.html

It is useful after installing SP2. I don't know if this will help in your case, but you can try it.

I had just got my laptop reformatted with XP Pro service and have no sound. Downloaded drivers for the realtek and still no sound

    Help please

    REDA

    Hello

Satellite L40 is equipped with a sound card high definition and this means that you need to install SP3 first, then the audio driver.
SP3 contains two patches from Microsoft you need for this sound card.

So remove the audio driver installed, install SP3 and then reinstall the audio driver.
