Tecra A8 fan speed stuck

I 3 laptop Tecra A8 and one of them has a problem that won't go away.
The cooling fan is stuck at the top.
From its start, the fan is palpable.
Here's what I tried to fix it.

Replace card sysytem
Replace the cooling fan
Replace the CPU
Change the Bios settings

The software is not a problem because all three machines are running the same image of XP

Possible, I have two boards evil with the same number of controller?

Any input would be great. Thank you

I haved same problem with my knees Tecra A8-143. As gay of served explain me it, my motherboard changed was prepered for the American market, and they have other standards of cooling, so BIOS needs to be changed. And you may not alone, just bring tour to served and he let do this work. I have a file which is used, as I remember to Runic stick in safe mod somewhere to diskette.

Update1: My apologies this file must be Runic, not in safe mod, but only from external USB floppy drive, luckily I have one, so I got to the service because they didn't haved. I'm not saying lets you do this job, leave it to sevis, especially if you turn is guaranteed.

Update2: I sent this file for you. I forgot how to work with him, just leave this work to served.

  • Tecra R950 fan speed

    Hello

I have Tecra R950 (PT530A - 00S 001) and find that the fan works almost full/high speed all the time.

I am running Windows 8.1 and run on the balanced power setting.

Is it a common problem with this model?

Someone can give me some info or measures to be taken to diagnose the problem or should I just send it to Toshiba as a guarantee?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

I wouldn't say it s common issue because of fan activity depends on its portable use.
The fact is that the CPU/GPU performance leads to a temperature higher due to the dissipation of the heat and this leads to a stronger fan activity

There's not a lot of parameters that could be changed next settings in the Windows Advanced Power Options. Here you can change the method of cooling under operation on battery and you can also decrease the max performance of the processor to 100% at a level more down to let's say 80-90%

  • Xserve 2009 unique full fan speed

Xserve has 1 fan of the fan which is stuck at full speed, exit number 3 of the fan is stuck around 14000 rpm, with all the rest made 4000-5000 rpm, as usual. Ive done PRAM/NVRAM reset, reset SMC, the usual suspects.  Nothing seems to make a difference, I even changed the fan by another on the table but the 3rd plug fan still works at a ridiculous speed.

This server was running and running well until November, it was then arrested and turned on for the first time yesterday and then introduced me to this problem the moment when its switched on.

IM out of ideas, someone came across this before?

If the reset of the SMC and (less likely to help) NVRAM did not work, so if you have deleted and reposition the table fan and tried again, then - if all this does not - and you have swapped the fan chart for a replacement, then all that's left is probably here perhaps a bad cable or a bad connection or bent PIN.  Be attentive to the corrosion or crud around the connection and clear than.   Swap the cable, then.   Also remove any accumulation of dust - the 'chunnel' contributions and the heat sinks tend to connect to Xserve.  In addition to dusting, I would probably swap the batteries while in the area.

  • Satellite C660D - software to control the fan speed?

Just brought a C660D. Someone knows the software to control the fan speed?

My laptop CPU fan always turns to 74-80% of max speed. That's a lot of noise. I tried cpucool, but it did not work.

If does not work, the fan speed will remain at the temperature of 0 with cpu at 38 oC. But with any operation tiny, like the click of the mouse, it will change again to 74%, CPU temperature does not change.

    Hi Polaralbatross,

Have you ever tried the Eco mode that uses the cooling battery optimized method?

  • Start of satellite L10 fan speed and noise

My L10 cooling fan start always maximum speed, when it turns on it always burst at maximum speed (and noise) and then slow down to a speed (and slient relative). This fan start noise is very annoying (as fan departure every half hour in office work and every 15 minutes in some simple games).
I try muffler or bios settings performance they do not fix the noise and the starting speed.
Maybe Toshiba could release some bios update or patch or something to fix this? (my bios version 2.0)
Maybe this problem has the solution software thrid party?
Or the fan speed max is just a hardware problem?

    Thank you.

    Hello Albert

The same thing my Qosmio F20 and in my opinion, it is not any kind of technical problem. At the moment I'm typing this text and hear Internet radio at the same time. The cooling fan works regularly.

In my opinion, when the operating system runs several different processes running in the background and they need the CPU activity that needs to be cooled correctly. In my opinion, you should check the power settings management settings and change the performance of the processor to lower the level.

If the cooling fan runs every 15 minutes, in my opinion, it is not too often.

    Good bye

  • Satellite U500 - temperature/fan speed of degradation after overheating

The hard drive of my laptop suddenly developed a load of bad blocks without reason apparent, so I replaced it. I started a live linux CD to copy the old drive to the new and left running overnight. When I came back to him, he ran VERY hot. It's not well crushed.
    * Since then, the fan worked up a gear more often than before *, in the original Windows installation.
Use a temperature monitoring program, I can see a temperature which is constantly higher than both the CPU and GPU, and I think this must be the problem. I can only think that it is setting the fan speed based on this incorrect measure. I don't know where this temperature is measured, and unfortunately I do not know what it was before the problem started. The new HDD is cool, so it is impossible that the change that caused the problem.
Someone knows something I could try to fix this?

    Hi Blah_1,

You probably have a higher internal temperature because your new HARD 7200 RPM drive instead of 5400 RPM. For hard drives at 7200 RPM are originally more heat during the backup process racing portable to use high CPU if it s normal behavior that he s hotter than normal.

In any case, the laptop must be also cleaned from time to time using a jet of compressed air as described here:

    Hi Geoffrey,.

If your fan speeds up often means that your laptop is overheating. Try cleaning your CPU heatsink with a vacuum cleaner. You will find this described several times in this forum.

    Kind regards

  • How can Qosmio G30-126 - I check the fan speed?

    MODEL: G30 - 126
    OS: VISTA 32-BIT SP2

How to know the speed of the fan? I have try several programs like "sensor hw monitor" & "fan speed" but it's not watch everything think about the temperature of the CPU just fan speed.

Where is the problem and what I need to do?

Hmm... Why you want to know the speed of the fan?

The fan speed will be automatically controlled and you can t change this or manually control. You can change the method of cooling between performance and battery optimized in Vista power management. Did you check that?

In addition, you can clean the laptop using a jet of compressed air as Akuma written. This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans.

  • Qosmio F50-126 - fan speed never htting maximum

    Hey

This question been bothering me for a long time but was too lazy to write about it. When I start my laptop, you can hear the fan speed reaching its maximum RPM. But during the game when the laptop is about to reach its maximum temperature for restart, the speed of the fan never hits its maximum RPM. It always seems to be about 50 percent when it will hit the threshold of overheating.

Can you tell me how to solve this problem, so the laptop is we fan maximum RPM during the games or another cpu/gpu intensive process?

I have the latest BIOS and drivers installed to date.

Plan to use everything at stake?
Check the method of cooling for this power plan and set it to maximum performance.

  • Is satellite A500-1DN - possible to adjust the fan speed?

Is it possible to adjust the speed of the fan of this laptop? As I saw in PC Health monitor the fan speed is mainly of 0%, and sometimes it amounts to 70% (on idling) and quite large making noise.
I wish to address is it permanently on.

    Is this possible?

    Hello

    > Is it possible to adjust the speed of the fan of this laptop? As I saw in PC Health monitor the fan speed is mainly of 0%, and sometimes it amounts to 70% (on idling) and make a big enough noise

I agree with you, I also own a500-1dn and it makes big noise even while surfing Internet. This forum was suggested to update Bios to reduce the fan noise.

  • Satellite L655 (PSK1JE) - 100% after update BIOS fan speed

    Hello

Yesterday, I do BIOS update since version 2.10 to 2.20. The update of configuration correctly but the problem is the fan, the speed is 100% all the time.

others have this problem with this version of bios?

Can I downgrade to the version of the bios?

Thank you and waiting for your answers

    Hi kingofcopy,

Load default settings after updating the BIOS? Go into the BIOS, press the F9 key to load the default values.

Have you tested the behavior of fan with cooling optimized battery option? In Windows power management, you can define more low fan speed in power management to reduce the activity of the fan.

  • Portege M400 is frozen, screen goes black and the fan speed increases when moved

    Can someone help me please?

I recently received the Portege M400 from a friend 4 days ago and reformatted for Windows XP Tablet Edition.
Everything's fine until I wanted to move the laptop to my coffee table, but as soon as I move the laptop it freezes, the screen goes black and the fan speed increases dramatically.
So far I have had no success in the resolution of this problem and I really appreciated, is that someone could help me!

Have you installed the OS using a Toshiba recovery media or you have installed the version of the OS?

  • Satellite A500-1GL: 2 questions: the fan speed & graphic card driver failures

    Hello

I have 2 questions, hopefully someone can help me with that.

    * The first question - quick fan *.

I'm on online gamer second life and world of the craft of war) recently my fan speed crank up to 90 percent for about 5/10 minutes before leaving quiet. Then speed up again after a period of time. I'm confused as to why he did this because when I check my cpu temp is only make 40%, and I use a cool buffer table.

I'm looking for some advise here because all said Toshiba was making sure I had the latest bios update. But I would have thought it is not the processor overheating the fan must not be crank that quickly. My laptop is only 2 months old.

Can anyone help, should I be worried?

    * Second question - graphics driver *.

Also on a couple of times I got my screen briefly go black and then recover. A pop up appears saying something along the lines of the core of the graphics card.... Driver recovered. It flashes if fast, that I never see the entire message. Don't you think that something is wrong with the graphics card? (card nividia geforce gt300m)

I really hope that someone can offer more help that Toshiba has done, as I am a bit unhappy to be problems on a 2 month old laptop.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to any Advisor.

The cooling fan is controlled by the fan table in the BIOS. Fan table contains information about the temperature and the fan speed that means the depands on some level temperature fan speed.
Over all the possible game features as the CPU, GPU, produce heat and the heat dissipation is high
Cooling modules would begin to turn faster if the temperature level would be exceeded
This is nothing exceptional everything at stake

I read on a similar question, and apparently, the graphics card DRIVER crashed during games
Maybe it's a compatibility problem between game and pilot
In most cases the graphics card driver update should fix this and I read on some forums that it has helped in many cases

  • Re: Satellite L650-116 - 90 continuously fan speed

I have a Toshiba Satellite L650-116 psk1je... the fan speed is 89 to 90% almost all the time even if I do not practically nothing on it... I don't have the running games or programs that require a big system configuration.

The core temperature is between 42 to 45 degrees. The problem may come from the latest BIOS version 2.10? I tried to install a previous version of bios 1.80, but he won't let me to install because it is older than the one I have already.

Seems to have started another discussion here and it seems that you have already solved this by cleaning the fans:

  • Satellite L850 - fan speed remains at 100%

    Hello

    I bought a L850 Satellite a week ago.
The fan works fine at first, when I play video games that it goes back to high speed, which is normal.
The problem is to keep it at this speed even when I turn off a game.

For example, my current CPU temperature is 45 c and the fan is 100%. The system idle process is at 2.3%.
I updated the BIOS to version 1.60

Restarting does not help, the fan is not slow at all.
Only when I turn the LAPTOP market again it will start has normally until I got back on a video game.

    I'd appreciate any help.

    > Only when I turn the LAPTOP market again it will start has normally until I got back on a video game.

Perhaps one of the game treats the sticks in the back of the system and emphasis on the CPU.
This would cause the high-performance cooling module even if the temperature is low.
You can check in the task manager system insists on the central unit and could turn off / close it manually

Am I right that the fan speed is normal without starting the game?
