Tecra A8 - Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-problem reading 841S

I have Tecra A8-143 (PTA843E) Lap, WXP Pro SP2 original. Later, I installed SP3 and the problem with the topic. Finally the time Mat * one impossible reed VERBATIM DVD - R (4, 7 GB) discs, even those who got burned in 'home' with Nero (or record now, I'm not sure), although reed he earlier without problems.

In addition, the reader can Reed DVD-R and Memorex CD - R Verbatim discs. In the meantime I have installed and uninstalled several programs and we hope that the point is in the configuration, but I afraid that SP3 is "fatal error" and I cannot flee from resettlement.

It is strange to me that this driver for DVD - RAM is Microsoft. can I install Mat * original drivers? My experience is humble and I'll be very grateful for help.

Thanks in advance.

> It is strange to me that this driver for DVD - RAM is Microsoft. can I install Mat * original drivers?
As noted in the previous announcement the CD/DVD drive is still controlled by Microsoft Windows driver!
There is no other pilot who could control the STRANGE

Back to your question;
There are two reasons why your CD/DVD drive does not read the disc;
First the disc would be insufficiently supported or the s drive laser lens cannot handle the disc to the stress matrix laser lens could also not be clean
You could clean the lens with a cotton tip and alcohol
In my case it helped

    Hello

In addition to the fact that you can boot from the Toshiba Recovery CD, I think that it s a problem of training material
I think it's a matter of calibration of lens readers possibly the lens can not calibrate correctly in the right position of s, and this is why the drive can't handle the inserted media.

This could be the worst case, because this fault is repairable by replacing the drive.

    Hi all
I have a Satellite M55-S325 with MAT * A DVD - RAM UJ-years 840 Firmware Version 1.52 I bought States 5 months ago, everything seemed fine until a few weeks ago when I tried to write some data DVD, I had unrecoverable errors while writing the DVD using NERO 7 ULTRA EDITION, but now I get this messege all the time and I'm not able to write any DVD the disc seems to be well in CD writing. I tried to use recording SOUND now that comes with the laptop, no luck. I tried to reduce the size of the files, and try with lower write speeds but still no luck. I disabled burning CD of the Windows XP SP2 IMAPI burning service COM as well. I use a good quality DVD-R that worked fine before. I would appreciate your help because my HDD is almost full (but still 10 GB of free space) and I need to get a backup of my data.

    Hello

I can't find any strange or mysterious messages in the log file.
You suggested that the drive can burn CDs but not DVDs.
The calibration lens dysfunction is sometimes responsible for these issues.
Unfortunately, I have no solution for this problem. The replacement drive must resolve.
The unit is fairly new in this case, you should ask for help ASP.

  • Satellite M30X-134. A device that can replace the "Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 820 s'?

    Hello world.

My laptop is still big, and I don't want to get a new one.
The DVD combo 'Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-820 s' is now defective! The nearest Toshiba Servicecenter said that there will be EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS and gave no other details or suggestions, but if I find cheaper that they will install it.

Now Ive has been unable to find the UJ-820 's' but some stores online request for similar models (UJ-846 and UJ - 850 among others) replace it without complications and are like 10 times cheaper.
If anyone knows exactly what we can replace the UJ-820 s (same characteristics)
Please let me now, it will be highly appreciated.

PS. I have the UJ-820 's' think theres also UJ-820 and UJ - 820D I do not know the difference, the manufacturer (panasonic) does anyway.
My dear laptop is: Toshiba Satellite M30X-134 (PSA72E - 015022GR) (in German)

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You can use almost all mast * one car because readers have some major differences. Maybe we can do DVD-R and another can do more media, but if you just need a reader to write cd/dvd then you can catch a UJ-846 or something similar from the connectors and electronics are almost the same.

Moreover, I know many after-sales Service of toshiba but $ 800? Please can you post which was the service centre. Thank you.

    concerning

    Hello

You mean that all possible CD and DVD is not readable?
Hmm, sounds like a laser lens malfunctioning drives.

There may be a chance; You can try to clean the lens of the laser drive s carefully using a set of cleaning.

I have goggled and found a few sets that seem to be designed for such a procedure:
Google for MAXELL CD345 CD Laser Lens Cleaner or Allsop - the lens CD Laser cleaner.

Maybe that will help you make the drive works again.
But if the reader will manage not CDs or DVDs even if the goal of s drive has been cleaned then I don't think that the replacement of readers might help you.

    Hello

    > I need I update DVD-driver or the replacement of the DVD player?
Usually the ODD driver is part of the Windows operating system.
Windows uses the internal Microsoft driver that controls the ODD.

In any case, the European driver Toshiba page contains a DVD - RAM driver. This driver gives you more support for your DVD RAM drive.
I m not very good if it will help you, but try to reinstall and check if the drive will be CD - RAM DVD-RAM

    Hello

How to help you if you don't mention what CD cannot be burned (original music CD, homes burned CDs, just specific producers, only some files are not readable). Give us more info on this issue.

Check a little better, and if there is no success is perhaps the defective drive. It is well known that some CD (a cheaper) cannot be burned properly.

You can do the following: go to download drivers of Toshiba Europe site and check if there is an update of firmware for this specific player. If so, I strongly recommend you apply and check if it works.

If the didn t of the firmware update worked later you assumed that the reader is defective and must be replaced.

    Welcome them

  • Re: Satellite A210-12U: Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-8505 will not read discs - error Code 39

    Hello.

I've had my A210-12U for about five months now, and recently for the past few months I had some problems with the dvd player.

The thing is that the player will not play all discs, the drive will detect that a disc has been inserted, but it will not read. It happened for about a month but its only recently I really know whats been wrong with it.

The drive I currently use is a CARPET * A DVD - RAM UJ-8505 ATA

I scanned the disk for problems with the support toshiba but utility that came with something so I decided to check the drivers.

Windows Vista gave this Message: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

I uninstalled the drivers and drivers on there and installed new ones that I downloaded here on the toshiba site.

What I really want to know is: is this a problem with the drivers? is it a case that the operating system does not detect the hardware? or is this a situation where I should have the disk fixed on its guarantee?

    was soon Dan

    Hello

Don t worry buddy I put t think that it s a hardware problem. It looks like a corrupted registry entry and it should be solved easily

Completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

  • Re: Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ-850 s ATA - Satellite P

    Hello world

My laptop - Satellite P 160 does not read and does not recognize my CD/DVD readers. In other words, it's like there is no such thing as "D".

It seems a problem with the carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA... or the driver of it. I'm not sure to be honest.

    I tried to find a driver for the carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-850 s ATA, but I couldn't find it.

    Anyone help me, please?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

First of all I must say that there is no such thing as the P160 Satellite
Then perhaps you could post a right cell phone model.

    Secondly I recommend to follow this short statement to solve this;
-go to Device Manager and remove the ODD (optical disc) of the list of devices
-Then go to the registry and remove the
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
-then restart the device and check how it works

    Good luck

  • Satellite A135-S2386 - DVD - RAM drive problems

Hi guys, I have a Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386.
I had once repaired because it is over heated and died.

One problem I noticed, the fool who fixed, he didn't put it back correctly, and the DVD player has been hot glued...
I fixed in March, April. But I'm used to, I can anyway...

However, there is a significant problem.
Written DVD player and bed PERFECTLY well in windows, however it cannot not be detected in the BIOS or what not.
As XPInstallation Windows, Vista install detects it but BIOS can't.

Can I update the firmware of the DVD-RAM? It's years Panasonic UJ-840.
Or I can update the BIOS of the machine itself?

You can boot from the CD? If the boot of CD work, then the BIOS is to see it properly.

You could try an update of the BIOS anyway, go to http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp
