Tecra M1 high slope Screech of volume control

Hello:

For a little while that now there was a sharp cry when the volume was turned up. He started at the upper end of the volume and systematically, it started when you only carefully increase the volume. Now the volume control should stay off.

There is no interference when connected and it also happens when the computer is in stand-alone mode when they travel.

Tecra M1 is now 18 months old and, also, the modem does not work with any sound by modem and the Port remains closed. It is now, when you are far away DSL, using a portable modem if wifi is not available.

TIA.

Martin

Hello

In my opinion, you must change the speaker volume in the properties of the Modem software. As far as I know the settings should be set to the second stage.
You can find it in: Device Manager-> Modem-> Modem Properties
Second if you want to use the Modem must be disabled the option wait for the dial tone before dialing.

Best regards

  • How can I activate my volume higher than does the volume control

I would like to get more than allows the volume control. Just don't go to loud. I have a toshiba laptop with Windows 7.

    Hello

I suggest you to add speakers to the audio output of the laptop. If you use small speakers that were included with the computer, you will not get the best performance available. New speakers offer more options to optimize the audio output.

Also buy a set with a subwoofer if you want quality entertainment at home or in your office.

  • Volume control causes trouble high priority thread

A few weeks ago, when I was finishing my "Flix" app and adjust the priorities of the threads, I noticed that the wire audio high priority interfered with the volume buttons of the PlayBook. Specifically, it could support you on a volume button and nothing would happen, at least not for a second or two. It was as if the priority of the audio thread was so high that it prevented the OS to respond to the pressure on the hardware button to the user.

This week, the behavior is quite different: the volume controls work fine, but as soon as you press on one of them, the audio wire starts to fight, and the audio gets all the "poppy/static ' y '.

The really strange thing is that even though the notification of change of volume disappears from the screen, the sound remains ' poppy/static ' y ', as if the volume permanently change event interferes with the audio wire.

I was wondering if the OS was lowering the priority of the thread on an event of volume change, but I think I have excluded that... when I ask the audio thread for its priority, remains at 63 before and after the events of volume change.

So it is obviously very confusing... How the hell a single volume change event could interfere with the audio thread of the application until the end of the execution of the application? (Even if the application gets a "break" due to need extra buffer audio and video, as soon as the audio continues, it is always static'y)

The other thing that may or may not be related, it's that last week my PlayBook prompted me that there is an update of the OS.  The strange thing is that the version of the update seems to be exactly the same as the version of the operating system I had, and it was only 3 MB. I can't help but wonder if this is somehow related to the change of behavior that I see.

Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Daniel

I finally understood how to prevent the volume control to cause audio problems.

    Here's the long answer:

-My app plays WAV files back to back. There was a slight "couture" in the audio that I tried to get rid of.

-A point I tried removed calls to snd_pcm_open and snd_mixer_open whenever a WAV file has been played, thinking that maybe something to do with the small gap in the audio.

-I didn't know at the time, but I think it's when editing of the volume begun resulting in distortions on the audio.

-Distortions are prevented by listening to events of volume change, and when it is received, ensure what I call snd_pcm_open and snd_mixer_open to the next WAV file playback.

  • Volume control turns itself higher

I'm new to Vista.  Here's the problem: suddenly pops up a blue window with a counter of volume and the speaker and the computer volume caps.  If I open the volume control and move the slider to a lower level of the volume, the volume goes up.  Finally, the window disappears, but don't know where it comes from or how to eliminate it.  Nothing happens if I left-click or right-click on the blue window.  I'm not using a mouse, I use the touchpad.  It undergoes by contacting the touchpad?  Is this a virus?  I can't find all the controls for this and has never seen anything like this in XP.  It's incredibly boring, but I also understand that it may be something I do by mistake or due to a setting that may have to be modified.

    Brian-

Thanks for your help.  I was following your instructions and try to isolate the problem.  So here's what happened.  My daughter has been using a Dell laptop, just like mine.  She had to lower its volume, while she hits an icon located above the keyboard and the blue window opens! It turns out that this is a feature on the Dell laptops.  There is a problem with it, but it's problem of Dell to resolve, not Microsoft.  The thing that amazes me, I called Dell for support and had to go through reset my computer to factory settings and tell him of this window was caused by a virus.  Thanks for the help, you helped me to understand, it's a matter of Dell.

    Hello

The port microphone or line is not because you are looking for this audio * output parameters.
The microphone is a device of entry so it s not who listed there.

If you go into the volume settings > options > properties you can switch to HD Audio input.
Now you can change the volume of the microphone! :)

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite P200-123 volume control wheel

Is it a mechanical or software driven command?

If I turn the wheeel 'up' the volume sometimes breaks down? It doesn't seem to be a 'stop' on the wheel.

    All tips are welcome

    Thank you

    Hello

the volume control of the Satellite P200 is a software engine, so it has no physical stop like on older machines, which means that there are some disadvantages about the time to change the flight and the reaction control.
Don t ask me why they have implemented this software wheel-driven, but each new series of machines there and it s predictable that they will stay with this technique...

You work quietly with the steering wheel to avoid such phenomena as spin the wheel 'up', but the volume down.
I have the same on my Tecra S5 and it drives me crazy sometimes, but I have to live with it...

    Welcome them

  • Volume controls on the keyboard after the upgrade to Windows 8

I have a Touchsmart 520-1070 with the mouse and keyboard without wire factory.  After the upgrade to WIndows 8, the volume controls no longer work.  I tried the Recovery Manager to reinstall the keyboard drivers, but there is no driver keyboard under hardware drivers.

In the following device manager are listed under keyboards:

    HID keyboard device

    Keyboard 109 MCIR Microsoft eHome

    Keyboard MCIR Microsoft eHome

Microsoft eHome key remove control Keayboard

    PS/2 standard keyboard

Any report that they are installed and are working correctly and that the drivers are up to date.

Has anyone else seen or solved this problem with a Touchsmart computer?

The instructions below were provided by HP support.  This has restored the function on the keyboard volume controls.  The referenced below drivers are drivers IDT high definition Audio Device.  I am not sure that it was necessary to reinstall the audio drivers.  It can only had to remove the USB dongle and back to restore the functionality of the button.  Note: the USB dongle is located behind the VESA Panel to the back of the PC.  No tools are required and the dongle can be removed and replaced without shutting down the PC.  VESA panel removal requires a bit of a steady hand, pulling the lip which is close to the connections on the rear panel.

    Instructions received from HP:

Please go to the following link and check the "return of the system", article #7 is the USB dongle:

  • IM using windows 7. my volume control icon is missing, how do I get it back? __

I don't know what went wrong, but after using my laptop last night and start using it now, I think not my volume control icon, I'm pretty sure that I saw him last night because I tried to change my volume settings while playing downloaded from music.  Also, I downloaded Nero 9 last night it would be the cause? Please help me...

I'll wait for the answer, any help would be much appreciated... :-)

    Step 2:

.. .restart computer and check again.

That's exactly what I did!... when restarting didn't work the 1st and the 2nd time, I restarted again!
I have a PC HP Compaq on Vista.
I installed the new HP D2660 printer yesterday,
    restart the computer.
Each icon is a shortcut to a page of browser Firefox Web is empty, is not going anywhere.
The volume control is missing from the system tray.
No sound on YouTube videos for example.
I have double checked everything connected ok.
I downloaded an audio driver of HP/Compaq's Web site (which I can't do):
"Realtek High Definition Audio Driver Update for Vista
    "Compaq Presario SR5152NX 2008-03-01, Version: 6.0.1.5548, 12.34 M
Restart the computer by following the instructions.
Panel, sound, speakers, Realtek HD Audio shows: work
Taskbar and Start Menu, right-click on the taskbar system tray, properties, Notification area... Volume icon is gray.
I now have in my taskbar icon of HP for RealtekHD Audio Manager but no Volume icon.
Sound now works well for example on a video YouTube online, but missing still Volume icon from the system tray.
    Restarted the computer.
At hp.com, customer service for my computer model, instructions for the Volume icon on the taskbar:
Notification area of the taskbar, properties, right-click... Volume now shows black :/ Checked the box 'apply '.
"If the icon appears in the area of Notificatioin' you're ok... He did not show.
    Restarted the computer.

Came here for Microsoft (it would have been easier if I had come here in the first place :/
Right-click on the taskbar, Notif.Area, clicked on 'Volume' once again, clicked OK... volume icon now present in Notif.Area AND on the taskbar. Yay
I consider myself lucky... I didn't have to do the 15 steps the registry editor or delete registry Explorer keys and shouldn't have, thank God.
    Thank you

  • CTRL - (CTRL-less) shows a small Volume control", which I can't get rid of without re-booting

I just installed Windows on my i7 PC wife 8.1 after replacing his C: with a beautiful Samsung SSD quick.

This is a configuration of dual display head high (1 widescreen, a former 19 '') with an installed software nVidia nVidia graphics card.

We found if press us CTRL-minus (not on the keyboard, but in the top row), a "volume" control appears on the hand of the screen, which overlays everything, even full-screen games.

    He refuses to go away.

Click and drag the control will lower the control, but he then returned to full volume.

If I hold down CTRL-minus (until I guess keyboard Auto sets in), it will disappear, but as soon as I let go of CTRL-minus, he returns.

I have found no way to do away with, short of re-start. Even a disconnection leaves visible.

I am at a loss and seeks advice on how to make it go far if bring us up, or, better still, seems not at all.

    Yours if fine.

All started to use the brand new pair of iPhone headphones.  The earpiece volume control works with my iPad 2 but not with my iPhone 6.  I tried to restart the phone and looked at the settings but nothing stood out.  The Atria will work fine with the phone. I can control the volume with the phone.  Just impossible to control the volume with headphones or make other controls work. Any ideas?
