Tecra M1: Question about 21003B wireless adapter

I have a Tecra M1 with 21003B wireless adapter. Company connection to one of our Wi - Fi points poses no problem - stay connected is a science.

All the 1-2 hours all Wi - Fi access points 'disappear' app to auto-detection. The only way to reconnect is to disconnect XP (SP2).

Any ideas?

Hello

Well, this really strange question. I found on the site of Toshiba four different
WLan drivers. I suggest trying another driver, maybe this will help.

Best regards

  • Wireless rookie - question about mesh wireless internal

I was asked to help set up a wireless network for a medical center. We have a lot of time before its opening, then it's time to test. I would like to recommend some sort of redundancy between the AP in this time, it will take about 16 to cover the area. Being a medical institution, if a resuscitation access point fails, better if the client devices connect to another. My question, am I right to say that we need a controller to achieve? I built and installed the wired LAN, so here's my chance to build my skills wireless

    Thank you very much

    Ray

The best way to build redundancy into your wireless infrastructure is to use a concept called "microcells". By installing more APs to the smallest power of radio, you have the luxury to increase the signal strength of nearby access point if it does not. Consider the alternative, which is to install less APs 100% power, but if we fail, you cannot increase the power of APs nearby.

Now, a controller can adjust automatically is close to the levels of power of the APs when it happens, but it can be manipulated manually in a stand-alone environment.

Finally, if you have already installed a wireless to 100% of power infrastructure, you can install redundant APs in a standby mode. AP backup monitors the active PA, and it lights up immediately if the active access point fails. You must usually install these APs right next to those involved.

Regardless of the redundancy used, customers will see a hiccup in service when the AP goes down. This can be avoided, if the new access point roaming must be extremely fast. This will only affect you if you are using time-sensitive applications, and even in this case, it might not be noticed.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

  • Tecra 8000: Question on the AC adapter

    Sorry bad English.
The power suply to my tecra 8000 does not work it is not the wire but the receiver most? in Notepad. I have a new laptop, but there are some files inside the tecra and because I have no power I can't reach it. Does anyone nows a solution that won't cost me a lot of money?
    Greetings:

    Hello

I'm not sure what you mean by 'receiver' on the adapter, but if the AC adapter is dead you will need a new.
    The Tecra 8000 uses this AC adapter: PA2450U - 15V, 3A, 45W
If you want you can try to google for the part number and I'm sure you can find some good offers.
You can also order this part form the Toshiba service partner in your country.
It is a way easier to buy some supported and compatible.

  • Tecra A2: Question about DVI and external monitor

    Hello
I am trying to get a DVI Signal of the Tecra A2 using the Advanced Port Replicator III but without success. The A2 does support DVI anyway?
Another question: is it possible to set up the main display to the external monitor using "extended Desktop"?

    Thank you
    Ralph Menon

    Hello Ralph

Your unit doesn t support DVI port and you can't use it. As far as I know just the ports that you can find on the device, you can use in Port Replicator because the signal is just loop through.

The problem with the screen is that mobile has the main value and it cannot be changed (on my Tecra M1 nor). The windows will be implemented on an external but password box will always be displayed on the screen of the laptop.

    Good bye

  • Tecra M5 - Question about upgrades

I had my Tecra N5-ptm51e for a few months and was looking to update and ive got 3 questions

    1. What is the best compatible processor with my laptop.

    2. What is the max ram supported

3 ive tried upgrading my laptop to Windows 7, but I needed to update my bios and I tried to do and she didn't

If anyone can help me with this, so I will be gratful

    Thank you very much
    Rhys

    Hello

OK, so I'll try to help you as best I can ;)

1 update CPU is not supported as you can read here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm

2 maximum capacity of RAM for your Tecra M5 should be 4 GB according to the specifications. This means that you can install the 2 GB of memory on each RAM slot.
The specifications are DDR2-667 you need.

3 and what's exactly happened after update BIOS? You can start your laptop?
I put t think that BIOS update is required for Windows 7. In your case I Don t do this update, Windows 7 will also work with the old version.

  • Tecra M3 - questions about the RAM maximum and graphics driver update

    Hi people,

I have a Tecra M3 (Variant FBCF with the Geforce 6600 w / 128 MB) and I have two questions that I hope someone here can help me with:

    (1) what is the maximum amount of RAM that I can install here? The manual says 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), but I do not see why the laptop would be paralyzed this necessary way, cause as far as I know the 915G chipset can handle 4 GB of RAM. If anyone knows definitively what?

    (2) the latest drivers from nvidia for XP are 2005. As most of you probably know, nvidia systematically more than past performance with versions driver and adds compatibility with some games that end up in trouble. The real driver from the nvidia site does not install because it says that it cannot find any compatible hardware. Can't Toshiba even a pilot updated annually? There is a driver of 2007 for Vista, I can't believe that if they did, they decide refresh the XP one while they were to him. Any chance of their audience on this here? I could force the nvidia.com driver to install, but I don't think that it's necessarily a great idea.

    Thank you!

    Hello

the maximum amount specified for this machine memory is 2 GB and 4 GB not but you can try it with 2x2gb modules.

With regard to your graphics: Don t use the nvidia driver since it is not suitable for mobile graphics chipsets and has no timing in the driver that is needed to run flawlessly.

I'd rather you to view laptopvideo2go and download some drivers here. :)

    Welcome them

  • Tecra 8000: Question about the possibility of upgrade

I have a tecra 8000 with a pentium 2 300 mhz processor and I was wondering if it would be up to class? any help would be appreciated thanks.

    Hello

Well, in general it is not possible to upgrade the CPU because the cpu is fixed and soldered on the motherboard. But sometimes the CPU is only mated. I'm not sure about this device, but as far as I know, this device was shipped with Pentium II 400 233 MHz, 333 MHz and 400 MHz Dixon.
But if you want to upgrade the CPU to change many other parts because the plu processor produce more heat and this process can cause overheating problems.
So if you want you can request the service of Toshiba for details.

Hi, im using a tecra 8200, mouse keeps drifting upward left after 30 minutes? keyboard problem?
Sometimes the screen displays changr, from very dark then normal?
Finally I was told that I can put in a module of 512 mem alongside 256 existing will this work.
    Thanks for any reply Biffo

    Hello

As you know on this path it is not easy to give you a good answer on all these problems. The same happen to me with my mouse, but AFAIK it's normal because the mouse must obviously be calibrated again and again.

Daniel is right about the memory. You can use two modules with 256 MB (PC100 256 MB - PA3069U - 1 M 25). 512 MB should be max according to the specifications of this unit.

    Hello guys,.

I am owner of a laptop Toshiba Satellite A200-1cr and suddenly one morning, I can not charge my battery...

I tried with another adapter that I bought for another laptop a few years ago and it worked perfectly...

I have change the power supply cable before the adapter, that we... http://www.digitalkind.co.uk/INU_Products/INU_ProdDetailsL8.ASP?ref=57306972

    It's for my laptop... http://toshiba.icecat.biz/en/p/PA3290E-3AC3/AC%2520Adapter%2520120W.htm

But now I have two important questions...

    1. since I tried, the power adapter works fine, do you think that it can causes problems on my laptop or battery if I use it for a long time... I have to say that they had the same features...

    2. is the replacement of the power supply covered by my warranty which continues to operate? or will I have to pay? I have two year warranty... and it is very important for me to know...

Thanks in advance and sorry for my English...

    > 1. As I've tried, the power adapter works well, do you think that it can causes problems on my laptop or battery if I use it for a long time... I have to say that they had the same characteristics

If the AC adapter doesn't supports exactly the same specifications as the original Toshiba AC adapter so I wouldn't recommend using it! This could damage the motherboard! So if you want to use it you must make sure that the ampere, Volt and Watt values are the same!

    > 2. The replacement of the power supply is covered by my warranty which continues to operate? or will I have to pay? I have two year warranty... and it is very important for me to know...

The AC adapter belongs to the laptop and it s covered by the warranty also.
So if you warranty is still valid, don t waste time and contact the ASP in your country!
Explain what s bad guys and I m sure will be able to help. The adapter must be replaced if it s defective!

In this case, I would not recommend using 3rd party adapters if you will get a new ASP.

    See you soon

    Hi aceman

I suppose that you bought the a drive that is not compatible with your device.
You should be careful with these products. Not all readers operate on all laptops. There's a different pin assignment that makes compatible players.

I think that the information that was posted by jmatthews is correct. You have two options: you can google for part numbers or contact the Toshiba ASP in your country and control compatible player of them.
