Tecra M10 - 17U use second HARD drive in the Bay of ODD
Hello
I try one of this popular box that allows me to put a second hard drive in the Bay optical slot, I use a Sata to Sata adapter, so there is not really an adapter and more properly connect:
[http://www.akasa.co.uk/update.php?tpl=product/product.detail.tpl&no=181&type=Enclosures&type_sub = 2.5%20Enclosure&model=AK-OA2SSA-BK]
My problem is with the BIOS Toshiba waiting for a STRANGE device in this Sata port and cams out with a "CD" error, disable the Sata port.
I have a workaround, if I start the PC, BIOS after with what this either in the Bay of the STRANGE, after Windows starts, I have insert the second HARD drive in the Bay of ODD, go to "Windows Device Manager" a 'check for changes on the hardware"and voila, the second HDD works fine , for me, it shows a limitation in the BIOS.
Y at - it assistance, a Beta BIOS or something else, I have the latest BIOS 3.00 for this machine installed.
Please check this thread:
http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=39412
It seems that Tecra M10 does not support a select bay that would allow you to use a 2nd HDD rather than the ODD.
As far as I know select bay is compatible with the Tecra M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, S1, S2

Second HARD drive in DVD Bay closes freezing
EliteBook 2560p
I got a new computer work laptop and want to dual boot installation, internal HDD WinXp and second HARD drive in the Bay of DVD with Win7.
I managed to set it up but I have a strange problem. The second HDD seems to freeze the closure.
Following problem
- On the HARD disk internal (WinXp) with the second HARD drive in the caddy. Every thing works
- Stop WinXP, I see the shutdown dialog box, then the screen remains blue and the mouse freezes.
- Remove the DVD case and the laptop continues and ends at the closing
When the second HDD running Win7 everything works to stop you, once more it freezes, screen says blocking down then goes black but the lights are on and the only way to stop it is to turn off by holding down the power button / stop. I tried different HDD in both positions.
Thank you, Rob
Thank you very much, IT worked

I wonder if I can install the second hard drive in my laptop and if I can do this what equipment should I.
Laptop computer has two covers of hard disk and manual is not clear on this subject.
He said: some models. Thanks for the info
You can't find the answer very easily.
Remove the second HDD Bay cover and check if there are a few HARD drive connectors/pins.
If Yes, then you could install a second HDD.
If not, you can not use second HARD drive.Good bye

Can I add a second hard drive on the Qosmio X 500-12 q?
Hello
I would like to know if its possible to add a second hard drive to the X 500-12 q?
I suppose that space is available, but I would like to know whether the connector is here & all
I could just open the case and plug it in.Thank you
In the document s user manuals I have not found something on HD upgrade so I m really don't know if this will be possible.
Anyway, as Jeka wrote, remove the HARD drive cover and check if there is place for second HARD drive and also necessary SATA connector.I have older 300 x and there is room for two drives.

To replace the DVD drive with the second HARD drive on the Probook 6570 b as for the BIOS setting
After you replace CD/DVD player with HARD drive in the Bay of correspondence, I had a problem with the BIOS. After starting, I received a message 'there is not a boot manager' and CTRL + ALT + DELETE. So is that posible F9 and start to use Option manually hard. Please tell me what I should do to fix this problem.
Thanks for your advice. I remember what I had to do in the BIOS. I had to choose the Boot Option and excludes "Boot from Bay upgrade". That's all. Of course subsequently followed "save all".

Can I use 2 hard drives on the Satellite A200-1YX
Hello, who knows if it can work 2 hard drives on the A200 1YX.
In the manual is written there are 2 locations for hard drives, but it says that for some models of Satellite A200.Can I use 2 HDD on Satellite A200-1YX?
As mentioned by user above, different Satellite A200 series are present on the market.
Some supports 2 hard drives and some as a single HARD drive. But both series are equipped with a second Bay I recommend you simply remove the cover plastic that holds the second HARD drive Bay and check if the HARD drive connectors are available.
Good bye

Possible to install the second hard drive in the p6110f Pavilion
Is it possible to install a second hard drive, 1 TB Seagate, in the expansion on my Pavillion p6110f slot?
Hello
Your PC has a hard drive cage which will host two disks. This how-to - HP document from removing a hard drive will show you the process to remove the hard drive cage.
If you want to continue using the Expansion Bay then you will need a 5.25 "to 3.5" adapter support. NewEgg.com would bring such a support. You also need a SATA data cable. This how-to - HP article will give you an idea on how to use Expansion with a 5.25 device Bay ". Check by the optical drinve for a spare SATA power connector. If it is not available, then you will need to use a SATA power splitter.

Hello
My laptop has a space for a second hard drive, but not of connectors. I use Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and I would like to add a second drive in this niche. My main drive is 1 TB and I'm running out of room. I am currently using a 1 to external but it is cumbersome when you travel. What should I do to use the second drive?
TIA,

Add the second hard drive in the Dell Optiplex 780 SFF
Hello
I have dell Optiplex 780 SFF (Small Form Factor) PC. It has 3 options of SATA. I want to add 2nd hard drive in it, but I see no power for 2 hard drive cable.
At the present time, I have a SATA Hard Drive and a SATA Super Combo. But the power cable from the SATA Super combo is very unique, I can not able to give the power of this cable to my 2nd hard drive.
Is it possible to add 2 hard disk in the PC case?
Best regards
Dani
Hi Dani,
The SFF is using a drive slim lens that does not have a standard SATA power connection. You will need to buy an adapter or a SATA power cable splitter to power a second hard drive.

I bought the hard drive enclosure kit (605415-001) to install a second hard drive on my DV7 - 4104ca. The cable supplied with the kit is the same on the main hard drive, but the motherboard has only 1 conntector to cable companies. There is another free connector on the card that uses the same cable that the internal hard drive, but assistance phone HP has no idea what I'm talking about.
Does anyone know which cable (part number) I need?
Or even what it is that the type of connector called and then I can source my own cable.
Thank you!
You are the very welcome.
It will be.

How to install the second hard drive in the Satellite A200-1 of body weight?
I see my new Satellite A200-1 of body weight has two hard drive bays, the research in the second span, I don't see how a second drive can be mounted as the plug into the Jack seems to be missing.
What parts do I have to mount to place a second drive that they are held in stock by out of the local computer and are quite cheap, can someone advise me on part numbers etc of the bits I need.
Thank you
SteveHello
I know that this empty place for second HARD drive is a bit confusing, but the same situation is with my A200-1CR. The fact is that some A200 models come with 2 hard drives and laptop case design this place must be prepared for this second HDD.
But this does not mean that each A200 can be improved for the second HARD drive.

Envy 17-J111tx: second hard drive for the Envy 17
I really want to add another SSD or HARD disk. My question is what size should I buy and it would be compatible with SATA 2 or 3? I will void the warranty of my mobile during installation it?
Hello
Through 2, 24, 41-43 page in this manual:
http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04091762.PDFYou can put 3 SATA, they are backward compatible with SATA 2 HARD drive also
Size: 7mm or 9. 5 mm compatible
You must purchase additional hard drive support (number of HP 720237-001) to second hard drive.
Replacement procedures are included in the manual. It is relatively easy to install. It will void the warranty if something goes wrong due to replacement by you. Contact HP service center for help.

What needs to install a second hard drive in the XPS 410 desktop computer
I want to install an internal drive repaired as a second drive in my office, so I can recover the data. A few threads in this area and I see support. Would just need a SATA HD cable? The power cable would already be there?
userx_076
Requires addititional hard drive, a SATA data cable and a power connector SATA, the default XPS 410 has a SATA power connector power to spare for a second hard drive.
You will need to buy a SATA data cable, probably a 24 "x 90 * [square] x 180 * right SATA cable, similar to the cable as shown here:"

Second hard drive for the dv7 - 7047cl
Can a second hard drive be added to the dv7 - 7047cl?
(It is standard drive is a 1 TB of HARD drive).
If so, how?
Thank you!
Hi Mike,.
You are welcome
There should be no problem with Bios recognizing the 2nd HARD drive, however it may not appear in Windows (under the Start Menu, computer) until the drive has been formatted.
You can format the second HDD as follows.
Hold down the Windows key and press R. In the run box, type compmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER. Click disk management in the left pane and let readers load upward. Right-click on your new HARD drive and select Format to start the wizard. Windows 7 will affect a Volume label so if your happy with it, just leave the default. File system is NTFS. Allocation unit size must be left by default. Select the option to perform a quick format if it is not already done. Leave all the other default settings, and then click Ok, and then Ok to start the process.
Once this done, your new HARD disk should now appear when you look under the computer.
Kind regards
