My Tecra M11 - 11 M does not repeat the position that I left, once it goes into harbenation. It resume several times, but after some time, Windows 7 32-bit systems takes over, but will not connect to my progile user, so I have to do a cold reboot the system.

I need help how to this problem.

Hey,.

I'm a little confused about your ad m

How do you get into hibernation mode? You press the FN + F4 key combination or choose Hibernate on Start menu?
And if you try to hibernation, not the power of the laptop off or is still?
How do you wake up your computer after hibernation? You just open the lid or press the power button / stop?
Why it does not connect in your user profile? What is freeze the laptop or what exactly is going on?

A lot of questions I know but otherwise it of not possible to give detailed responses.

I had two notebooks Tecra M11 - 17V. (the first was stolen and replaced by an identical)
They both had the same problem where the machine would sometimes freeze for about 5-10 seconds.

Frost occurs usually when you move the mouse over a button or a menu, for example, the close button in any window.
It produced whenever the mouse passes over, just sometimes. Occasionally, it occurs when a right-click.

Usually the laptop will resume without problems, but some applications after lock up what happens.
    Particularly in Firefox.

The problem occurred from the moment that I got the laptop, with just the base Windows 7 install.
Excatly the same on both machines.

    No error is reported.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

    Hello

These short glaciations are mainly related to CPU or memory allocated.
In some cases, it could refer to a software installed.

  • Removal of password BIOS on Tecra M11 - 11 M

I have a Toshiba Tecra M11 - 11 M, which was blocked from password. I stripped the computer laptop and removed the BIOS during 10 min but the rest password battery still IE on the screen it still reads PASSWORD - *.

There is no way to get into the BIOS through a combination of keys.
There are no markings or letters on the motherboard whether ie: C35 - C36 or J12 - J13 out short which would in most cases to remove the password and allow access to the BIOS.

The technicians out there with any ideas would be much appreciated.
Some people asking for help with a password of bios are not thieves but crazy just forgetful.

As far as I know Toshiba uses several methods to remove BIOS password. On commercial machines like Tecra and Portege method is not the same as the Satellite models.
Remove battery BIOS works on desktop computers, but not on mobile machines.

Mobile machinery must have better protection due to the fact that can be stolen easily and it is very important against a misuse.
    > Some people asking for help with a password of bios are not thieves but crazy just forgetful.
S OK, but you can't wait this BIOS password removal method will be described on the public forum. Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and they will do it for you. All you have to do is show an invoice validates and prove that you are the real owner of this Tecra machine.

  • How do I reinstall my Tecra M11-103?

I need to (re) format my laptop, I have a Tecra M11-103 with Windows 7 pro 64-bit. I got it with only a downgrade WXP CD but no CD installation of Windows 7.

Laptop is no longer under warranty. How can I reformat? It seems that I used to have nero backup software as it came bundled with laptop for a long time (a format under warranty and) there are...

Is it possible to get new nero?
    Thank you
    E

    Hello

According to tender specifications that your Tecra has been delivered with preinstalled WIN7 64 bit PROFESSIONAL and you have DVD extra WXP. Original recovery Win7 image was recorded on the HARD drive and use preinstalled Toshiba recovery media creator you have had the opportunity to backup recovery image and create the installation of bootable recovery disk.
How it works is described in the document s user manuals.

I put t know if you created this disk but now after installing Windows XP Home edition, you need the recovery disc. Of course, if you want to have the factory settings, you need this record. Otherwise, you can obtain the Microsoft installation disc and install Win7. Download page for all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities, you can find and download from Toshiba.

I hope you understand the situation, but if you have any other questions do not hesitate.

  • Tecra M11-107 and i7-940XM compatibility

Hi, I want to improve my laptop Tecra M11-107 for the fastest processor this socket can work. Can someone tell me if the i7-940XM processor is compatible?

    Hello

For CPU work, you must take into account some important facts:
Above all a CPU must be supported by the chipset.
Then a new processor needs a BIOS support.

In both cases if one party would not support the new processor, the laptop wouldn't start.

That is why it s essential to know if BIOS and chipset to support the new processor.
This isn't a big deal to get details about the chipset, but unfortunately, there is no information on BIOS support.

The laptop seems to support the Mobile Intel QM57 Express Chipset
Intel ARK page provides all information on this type of chipset:
    http://Ark.Intel.com/products/43187/Intel-BD82QM57-PCH

Under compatibility, you'd get caught processors supported.
I also consider retail TDP max mentioned per page of the ARK.
This value is important if it comes to the heat generated by the CPU.
For a lot of heat can affect the functionality of the laptop and would lead to overheating.

  • Tecra M11 - random crashes with Windows 7

We had a Toshiba Tecra M11 Windows 7 who has a problem in which he randomly falls down, forcing the user to hard it reboot. When it crashes, the fans to the top spin, don't know if that means anything. We tried many things to fix.

At first, we thought it might be overheating, which would explain the fan, but the laptop has been through a 24-hour stress test absolutely perfect with normal temperatures. The laptop is not necesarrily do something stressful when it fails we also tried reinstalling some of the key drivers and also intalled the BIOS more recent (2.60), but still the same problem.

It breaks down up to 2 times per day, but can also go a few days without crashing. It's a very strange problem and we would highly appreciate a fix for it.

    Thank you

    George

    Hello

Maybe it s RAM related question RAM memory may be affected and would force the OS crashing
I put t know if that would be helpful, but try to test the memory, run the memtest86 utility
But note; These controls are not always successful means that even the memory is faulty, the error may not be detected by these software

Have you tried to reinstall the OS?
This should be done as well.

  • Tecra M11 - 11J - cannot install Windows 7 64 bit

    Tried to upgrade a Tecra M11 - 11J for Windows 7 64-bit.
The installation gets all the "Loading Windows files" screen, then turns off and freezes, with the release of maxing out CPU fan but no HARD disk activity.

Have tried to reinstall XP (works fine), flashing the BIOS to the latest version, re-seats of the RAM, change the HARD drive in "Compatibility" mode and reinstall Win 7 - same problem.

Have you tried Win 7 32 bit - the same problem.
Installation of USB, instead of DVD - same problem.
Different flavors of Win 7 - same problem!

    It's extremely frustrating.
I upgraded the memory up to 8 GB, hoping to take advantage of this with W7x64 and now I'm stuck with a XP machine and 4 GB of of of the RAM to lose.

Would be very grateful for any suggestion.

    Thank you.

and installation of Win 7 does not even using the old 4 GB of RAM?

Or have you tried to install Windows 7 on the Tecra M11 using the new 8 GB of RAM?

What of the HARD drive? The HARD drive is displayed on the first page of the BIOS?

  • Tecra M11 - 17V - identify the serial port on the docking station

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra M11 - 17V, which I often use with the docking station that accompanies it.
There is a DB9 serial port at the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port.

    I use Windows 7.

In the device, COM9 Manager - COM22 are identified as Port BT (bluetooth). Com7 - COM8 are RIM Virtual Serial Port v2, COM17 is Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port and COM18 is USB-Serial CH340.

I thought that COM17 or COM18 were the most likely candidates, but have not been able to get to answer using one of them.

I connect a Psion 5 (Comms app) to him and have developed ports and the Psion 8bits, 19200 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit.

    Hello

    > There is a serial port DB9 on the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port, it is

I think you have misunderstood something wrong
COM ports in Device Manager are virtual com ports
There is no link between a serial port and a virtual com port.

I have a question: what docking station you have exactly?

I had an express port replicator and this device required an additional serial port driver installation.

    Hello
    I have Toshiba Tecra model:
    Toshiba Tecra M11 - 15W
    Framework/model n °: PTME0E-03J02SEP

Problem is that I did not use this laptop for quite awhile and I forgot I put a Bios password. Now I need to re - install windows (corrupt), but I can't get my notebook to boot from USB or DVD. To access this menu, I need my Bios password.
Is there a way I can flash or reset or something like that? I've tried everything, I even wanted to get inside my laptop to find the Bios battery and remove it, but I'm afraid I'm going to break something...
I can remove the HARD drive and install windows on another PC and continue the installation on the laptop, but I still need this password reset...
    Thanks in advance!

A few days ago someone asked the same question on this forum. Almanna probably know passeord BIOS is very important security feature and it can be retrieved or cancelled by an authorized personnel only. With other words as close to Toshiba service provider can do for you.

  • Tecra M11 - Ethernet fried

    Tecra M11 - 10 d

Recently, I connected a network cable for my laptop. This cable seems to be a Poe cable. Ethernet standard, but with a power supply to power a video conference phone.

After this event, my network card does not work. Ethernet lights don't work. My windows 7 says that a cable is not connected.

In Device Manager, I uninstalled the network device and when I'm looking for material changes it finds my network device but it still does not work. It is not a software problem.

Is it possible for this Poe cable to have fried my Ethernet card?
Any suggestions to resurrect my Ethernet?

To be honest I put t have experience with these issues but if you want to test how the hardware install original recovery image and test the operation of the equipment with the settings.

It is certainly the best way to test the operation of the equipment.

    Please post comments.

  • Re: Tecra M11 sudennly freezes and the cooling fan starts to run

My Tecra M11 laptop is running Windows7 and with a broadband dongle Telstra wireless internet lights up and works normally for a period of time.

Sudennly it freezes completely and 5 seconds later the cooling fan starts to run until I power off using the power button.
    Clues?
    Thank you

You must understand that on this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here.
I can imagine that some background process starts and increase the use of the CPU at the critical level when the motherboard sensors register at higher temperature of the processor and cooling fan starts to run fast enough.

Try to check in the Task Manager, if something like that happen.

I put t know how you have configured your operating system and to applications that run in the background, but also to try to stop treatments that you don't need and change some settings.

I want to Bay upgrade of Windows 8 pre-control for Windows 7 or XP computers and install it on my Tecra M11 - 13 X model. I was wondering if it will work properly - of course, I think especially on drivers?

Maybe someone has tested Windows 8 on Tecra M11 in windows program to participate and can help me?

I'll be very grateful for any answer!

I put t see serious reasons why win 8 should not work on the Tecra M11

But since Win 8 is not officially on the market (it takes a few days), you will have to wait for some customers and drivers of Toshiba
