Tecra M2 - DVD/CD drive does not read

I have a Tecra M2 with the DVD Rom/CD burner.

When a disc is inserted, it runs but does not read - light stays on. After a few eject and reinsert the cycles he usually manages to play the disc. Long the standing problem which affects different DVD and CD discs. Have used a disc cleaner to clean lens.

Does anyone know if this is likely a faulty hardware or a driver problem?

Thank you

Search on the Toshiba site.
For the Tecra M2 is updated firmware for some ODD available s. To check if you have such a unit.

In addition, I would like to make a BIOS update. This you can also find on the Web from Toshiba site

    Hi guys,.
The DVD - RW drive does not read anything I put in it.
He works certainly (in some form) because it runs on start and when I put a disc inside, but he can't always SEE.

I tried to uninstall/reinstall the drive itself, uninstalling/reinstalling the driver. I searched on the net for drivers (thinking that the driver file was corrupted), but I couldn't find a driver for the DVD-RAM.

I was restarted after each task but still no luck.

    HELP PLZ

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then check the cables
both ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power
and contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the system manufacturer
and the manufacturer of the device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are

  • Pavilion dv7t-2000 dvd/CD drive does not work

    Hello

I have problems with my CD/DVD drive.

Recently, I upgrade my Windows Vista Service Pack 2. I noticed that my CD/DVD drive does not work, although I don't know if this is related to the Vista upgrade because I have not used the cd player in a long time. The drive does not read CDs or DVDs that I put in.

Device Manager indicates there is a problem with the driver for CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drive. Device Manager displays the following error message: "Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) »

The device is listed as TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633M ATA Device. The CD-ROM/DVD-ROM is the same as that provided with the laptop when I bought it, which is listed as "LightScribeSuperMulti8XDVD + / RWw/DLayer" on my receipt.

In the properties of the device, I pressed the 'Update Driver' button, but it says that the driver is already up to date.

I searched HP's site for an updated CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver, but I couldn't find one. I also ran "HP Health Check", but the program cannot find any problems.

    Thank you for your help.

    The problem has been resolved.

  • CD/DVD-Rom drive does not not on Equium A100

I installed a webcam, and it made my DVD - rom drive does not not with all drives. I uninstalled everything to do with the webcam and it still does not work. Can someone help me solve this problem without using the recovery disk of the product came with my laptop?

I had this problem before, but I didn't the first time, it's the webcam that has caused the problem. It s webcam trust wb - 1400T. I had to use the product recovery disc and he had a lot of hassle to install all my programs again and this time I'm in the middle of exams and can't get it all done in time for my exams, as I have vital work on here I have to do.

.. .Please help me... I think it is the driver, but I don't know how to fix it.

    Hi mate

    > I installed a webcam, and it made my DVD - rom drive does not not with all drives
To be honest I have never seen that the webcam may have a negative influence on the internal CD/DVD drive.
I see really no connection between the webcam and ODD... very strange
Do you get any error messages?

    Anyway, in my opinion, you should try these solution ideas;

    (1) remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the STRANGE and should re-install the drivers.

    2) access the registry and delete the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters completely from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    .. then restart the laptop.

    (3) download and install the tool freeware "CCleaner". This tool repairs registry and solves several problems in System.

If this does not work, then the new installation of the OS would be wise to check if the problem could be related to a software problem.

    Best regards

  • Help! DVD/CD drive does not!

Help! I used the Microsoft Fix It, I went through community forums and followed the links here and there, I even followed of it: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461 that requires you to modify your registry! YET, without success!

Yesterday, the Windows Vista update ran, everything was hunky dory and a-okay (or so I thought). After that I turned off the computer, ran some errands, the CD-ROM/DVD-rom drive does not work! When I try to run a program installed which requires a disc (like a video game) I get the message "unable to locate the CD-ROM: Please insert the right CD-ROM, select OK and restart the program" even if the disk is in the computer. When I try to insert media, AutoPlay will not... Well... running! I went to the COMPUTER file and found 2 things; underneith the tip where it know "Devices with removable storage" I found a D:\ RW Drive who said that the device was not found, and to the right a menu similer who told me to "Insert a disc" when I clicked on D:\ RW.

I looked in the DEVICE MANAGER to take a peek at my drivers and find my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver and he told me that the unit was working properly - HOWEVER, when I run Microsoft Fix It he told me something different. He told me my filters of class are corrupt, filter of device drivers are corrupt, device is not working properly, drive is disabled, drive is not assigned a drive letter. Now it's all hunky dory but I don't speak computer, and I would like to DISABLE ONE and non-CORRUPT everything!

I have already done a system restore and follow the link that requires you to enter in your registry and remove the filters. It's a gateway computer, I already spoke with gateway and they told me to do a factory restore (which I have not yet done because I would like to know if there is a way to fix this problem without uninstalling EVERYTHING on my computer).

I really hope that this is not a lost cause. Help me to Microsoft, you're my only hope.

Try this step for your DVD player problem:

    Delete the UpperFilters registry entry:

Click Start, in the search box, type regedit, and then press ENTER.  Start the registry editor.

    1. in the registry editor, expand my computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    2. expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.

    3. expand Control and class.

    4. under class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

    5. in the right pane (topic area), click UpperFilters.

Entry UpperFilters.bak registry-year note may also appear.  To remove the UpperFilters registry entry, you must click UpperFilters and not UpperFilters.bak.

    6. on the Edit menu, click on delete.

    7. When you receive the following message appears, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the UpperFilters registry entry:
Are you sure you want to delete this value?

The UpperFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

Note do not exit the registry editor. You must have this program for the next step.

    Delete the LowerFilters registry entry

    1. in the registry editor, expand my computer, and then expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

    2. expand SYSTEM, and then expand CurrentControlSet.

    3. expand Control and class.

    4. under class, click {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

    5. in the right pane (topic area), click LowerFilters.

A note LowerFilters.bak registry entry may also appear. To delete the LowerFilters registry entry, you must click LowerFilters and not LowerFilters.bak.

    6. on the Edit menu, click on delete.

    7. When you receive the following message appears, click Yes to confirm the deletion of the LowerFilters registry entry:
Are you sure you want to delete this value?

The LowerFilters registry entry is removed from the {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} registry subkey.

    8. exit the registry editor.

Once you have you removed the damaged registry, you will need to reinstall the driver by following the instructions below.

To reload the drivers for the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM/CD-R/W:

    1. Please right-click on computer and choose Properties.

    2. click on Device Manager on the left side of the window.

    3. click on the + sign next to CD/DVD PLAYERS

    4. the + sign will become a sign - and you can have a list of several drivers drop-down below. If so, each driver must be removed at once.

To remove a driver simply hover the mouse over the driver, right click the mouse once and choose "Uninstall".

    5. continue to remove those drivers until it is no longer a topic for the CD/DVD PLAYERS.

    6. search for IDE/ATA/ATAPI controllers and repeat the same steps to delete all of them as you did for CD/DVD players.

Note: When asked to restart, not until all are uninstalled

    7. the title of IDE/ATA/ATAPI Controller will not disappear and all controllers may not disappear after being uninstalled

    8. click on the X in the upper right corner of the window MANAGER of DEVICES.

9 restart the system and let windows reload the correct drivers.

    10. check if the problem is solve.

  • Tecra M7 DVD: CD/DVD RAM drive does not work since the installation of Vista

I did a clean install on my new Vista Ready M7. He had XP tablet in a first time, and the DVD player worked fine. In fact I used to install Vista (Home Premium).

Now it doesn't work at all. It runs but does not read. Device Manager tells me impossible to start the device. Tried to update driver and he told me that he has the most uptodate pilot.

Downloaded all the drivers from the Download Center of Tosh for upgrade of Vista of M7 (who got bluetooth, rotation etc. function properly the screen). But none of the downloads seems to be a driver for the DVD - Ram drive. He cannot find a driver anywhere else (including the Panasonic site).
    DVD player is Mat * a DVD - RAM UJ - 841 s

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

On the Toshiba driver page, you can find the DLA for Tecra m7.
Have you tried to install the XP driver DVD-RAM since the Toshiba page on the Vista operating system?

    Maybe it'll market

But listening the CD/DVD drive uses the current Microsoft drivers that are included in Vista or XP.
This is why an additional driver should not be necessary!

    An additional proposal;
Remove the drive from the Device Manager CD/DVD and restart the laptop.
After restarting again the OS should reinstall the drive and renew the software.

    Another tip:
    -Launch the registry
    -Choose the registry key;
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
-In the right pane, click UpperFilters and LowerFilters, and then click on remove.
    -Reboot the laptop

    Hello every1,
I have the Satellite 1410 604 for more than 2 years, with player combo mentioned above...
It serves me right, except that it does not read certain types of dvd media, and I use only high quality DVD Verbatim...
It happens that in the last months. It is not my main computer but it's to use in my house, and it really bothers me when my sister or father takes the new A60 Pro satellite on the road (its battery is better), I can't use last discs on it. So if there is a cause of upgrade, firmware I can't find on this site...

    Thanks in advance...

    Hello

I don t think that the firmware update will solve this problem because this pilot acknowledged this DVD some time ago.
In addition, I put t found any firmware of this drive on the Toshiba site.

But check if the disk by removing the procedure will solve this problem. So why go to Device Manager and remove the disc. After again starting the operating system should recognize the drive again
