Tecra M2 not to close on docking station

I have a Tecra M2, of which most of the time is used in a docking station. However if I'm on the docking station for laptop computer does not shut down (it sticks to the "Windows is shutting down" screen... unless I have physically remove the laptop from the docking station, and then he finished the process to close.)

If the laptop is not on the docking station, there is no problem of closure.

I tried to remove all the devices that are connected to the docking station, but that makes no difference.

I use v3.65.00.XP Toshiba Mobile Extension.

Also note that I do not and never have been, a 'disconnect the computer' as an element of Start Menu (there also no "NoStartMenuEjectPC" button anywhere in the registry.

One last thing; If the laptop is cold (IE only used for a few minutes), then it will sometimes close ok on the docking station.

Any suggestions very welcome.

Tennant

Hello

It is not easy to give you a good explanation, but you can try to reinstall the mail Mobile Toshiba is perhaps also an application that runs in the background, the reason for this.

Your device comes preinstalled with recovery DVDs?

  • Tecra A10 - change of resolution with Docking Station problem

    Hello

I own a Tecra A10 - 14Q and I like it a lot - it is a very beautiful piece of hardware, including the functionality of UMTS.

When the Tecra is moored to the dock Express, and the external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 22 "with resolution 1600 * 1200) is on defining the Office to be cloned on both screens, passes resolution of 1280 * 800 on the Tecra to 800 * 600 as"best resolution.

I tried Intel and Mobility Center graphics settings, but I can't find a way to set I want to keep the resolution 1280 * 800.

Suspicion to do so automatically is welcome. I found that a program that now lies on my desk that I run so it redefines the resolution to 1280 * 800, but I would like to stress that resolution remains just that it is.

    Kind regards

    Hello

It's not easy to say why the resolution automatically decreases

But sometimes, if the external monitor would be connected to the Tecra A10 directly without using the Express Docking Station?

Otherwise the problem could be linked to the dock Express (Replicator of port express?)

Maybe the 1600 * 1200 resolution on external monitor is too high for the express port replicator and so there are some questions which s my personal suggestion

  • T410 does not connect to the docking station

I have a Lenovo T410 and a docking station 4338. When I tried to join the computer to the docking station last night, he would not go. I don't see any obstruction or something wrong with the plug on each unit; the computer can't accumulate up as before.

I have another station host I can try, which should help to determine which device is the problem, but I won't have access to him until next week.

Have someone has encountered a problem like this? Any suggestions to correct?

I compared the two docking stations and identified the problem. There are two plastic hooks built into the base, one to the right of the connector, one left and below. In a station works correctly these hooks are discarded because the computer is inserted, then spring back, now in place.

On my post of malfunction the hooks were stuck, prevent the computer from insertion.

I was able to fix the problem by pushing hooks with my finger, which take them off. If they stick once again I can try a Lube graphite.

  • Tecra M3 and Advanced Port Replicator III: not recognized as docking station

    Hello!

Just install my new M3 and Advanced Port Replicator III. Everything works fine, but the Port Replicator is not recognized as a Docking Station (No disconnect in menu button start XP; pressing disconnect button on the Port Replicator itself has no effect either).

    Is TI WHEREAS behavior?
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

You reinstall the unit with the recovery CD?
As far as I know that the TOSHIBA Mobile Extension3 for Windows XP is responsible for the good condition of the market of the docking station.
Well, I recommend to reinstall this driver and utility.
Perhaps the installation of the new driver will solve this problem.

  • Latitude docking station USB E6520 problem

    Hello

I really didn't believe that anyone is placed to help me solve this problem, but bad him give a coz it is reallt weaird and boring.

So, I use a docking station for my dell, it has 5 USB ports (3 left) and 2 in the back.

Now I use a logitech wireless mouse. Whenever I plug the receiver of mouse usb to one of the ports left, it works fine. If I use the 2 on the back, it lags like hell and it seem to be stuck in each procces action, such as moving files on explore etc.

But it's not the most anyoing thing im expiriencing...

I wanted to make my life esier, so I bought a usb to mini-pcie adapter, this one:

And I plugged my mouse receiver to it - it works great! BUT WAIT, if the laptop is not connected to the docking station! If this is the case, im get exactly the same problem I would connect the mouse receiver in the back of the docking station...

I tried to reinstall the usb root hubs, but it has not changed anything. It's weird as hell.

I would really aprichiate if someone could help me with this problem. RLY.

I solved the problem, I'm not sure if that was the cause, but let me show what I did:

So at first, please look at this picture:

The way in which these 2 niches is met is not natural, what I mean, is that at the beginning I only had the wan card and housing was free. But, before you install the usb card dongle I had to move the slot sataflash slot wan wan card and insert the dongle usb connector wan. Why? See the place I (square?) circles with red color. This border metal had to close and the dongle for a long time so it wouldn't fit.

In this way, it was buggish and when I turned the switch wasn't working my mouse instead of wireless...

What I did to solve this problem:

I pulled some of the side shell of metal with sharp pliers and I replaced the cards for cracks (label name network extended wan, usbdongle in the sataflash slot).

Everything seems to work so far.

  • HP 2008 120W Docking Station (KP080UT) Support screen double

The Station of host HP 2008 120 w (KP080UT) supports two screens?  If this is not the case, what docking station will be?

I tried to run two monitors connected to the docking station with a portable computer stock HP Compaq 6715 b.  A monitor is on DVI, the other is on VGA.  Single screen works individually on both DVI and VGA, but together, it won't.  The laptop sees there is a second monitor, but when I said "Extend my Windows desktop on this monitor." the first monitor flickers as its going to change everything, but goes back to the single screen.  I updated the graphics drivers and tried with both open and closed laptop.

Support Online Chat told me that it depends on the graphics card.  6715 b is not compatible double screen.

  • Troubleshooting external video and thread unique docking station

Try to group all threads dock into one video.  This will help me to collect information on what is and is not working there, and get it to engineering to solve.    I will edit this first post to maintain the all updated in one place.  This should make it easier to find information in the future.

Steps to follow before reporting a problem:

    (1) check the revision on your dock.   If you look at the bottom of the docking station, you will see a variety of labels.   The PPID label is on the right side of the group labels and will include a number of review at the end.   Make sure you have a revision A01.   If you A00, and if the video does not work after trying the remaining steps in this guide, please contact support and have your A00 with A01 replaced.

    (2) be sure to update your device to the latest version of the BIOS (currently the A11 for the 713 x) and A07 for the 5130.  For the 713 x, select the version appropriate for your product.

    (3) upgrade to the latest version of the video driver.   It is currently for the 713 x 3496 and 3366 for the 5130 (note that this driver 5130 is packaged in A06 chipset driver).

    (4) connect your monitor (s) to the docking station.   The preferred method is to use directly DP to DP or HDMI to HDMI cables.   Dongles will work, but note that the DP dongles must be 'active '.   DP ++ (non-active) dongles will not work with this docking station.   Passive HDMI dongles are OK.   Use dongles and cables of good quality.   Monitors must be HDCP.

    (5) turn on monitors and set up an external video via the options of the Intel graphics driver or the WIndows Devices/project option.   The 5130 will support the LCD + external display a screen (two screens can reflect the content if you wish).  713 x will support the LCD + two external displays (each unique content display).  713 x will support daily chained DP 1.2 monitors.  Two external monitors can operate at FHD (1920) and one external monitor through DP can support 2560.

    (6) at this point, your external monitor should work.   If this is not a couple of additional troubleshooting follow the steps.

6.1) remove and reinsert the cable from the monitor at dock.

6.2) to ensure that the current dock is good (the LED on the front of the docking station must always be on when power is present)

6.3) make this monitor has good source of selected entry and that the wiring is routed to the appropriate ports.

6.4) compressed Undock and redock to see if a change occurs.

6.5) 6.5) for tablets of 713 x, try to roll back the driver A00 video 3316 to see if that makes a difference.

    (7) if the video still does not work as you expect, please post in this topic with the following information.

(7.1) the confirmation that you have tried the steps above and that you have indeed an A01 docking station.

7.2) of the make and model of your monitor (s).

7.3) information (e.g. How is everything connected) configuration

7.4) If you use several dongles, brand and model of the dongle if known

7.5) problem specific (s) you encounter.

  • Internal network card is cut off when I remove my XPS M1710 the docking station

    Hello

I have a xps M1710 laptop. I normally use a docking station and the internal network card works fine when the laptop is in the docking station. But now when I remove the laptop from the docking station for the network adapter is disconnected.

I know that it stops when the battery mode to save energy, but it is always closed when I connect to a power supply for laptop. I tried the plug before you turn on the computer and it does make a difference.

It's not happened before and I have to go to the internet on my laptop earlier, when not to use the docking station.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

  • Tecra M10 - 17 H no support DVI via docking station not

There is already a message asking this, but I wanted to point out that it is a problem affecting more than one user.

Too, I bought a Toshiba laptop for my business as it was supposed to be a laptop a serious matter. However, I must say that I am losing confidence that Toshiba understands what needs a company.

The docking station is frankly a joke. USB KVM will not work with it, probably, there is no PS2 port you can not use a KVM PS2 instead. Even if you could, the VGA dock does not detect the external VGA is present when there is a KVM. Of course, the answer is "simply" open up the laptop and set it up on the Panel, then switch to external whenever you turn it on. How can anyone think that is a response in a business, or any other environment is beyond me.

Now, I find that my laptop has an Intel graphics card I can't use the DVI port on the dock either. Which is really annoying, is that I could buy a laptop at half price, but wouldn't because I wanted a laptop class business that disintegrates not in respect of the use. I didn't pursue a fantastic graphic option because I did not doing anything fancy either, but graphics without the supported DVI via the dock is just simply ridiculous.

Now, I regret bitterly, to get rid of the old Dell D/Dock that although several years worked without fault and with DVI, with any old KVM and without any problems at all.

Sorry for the mug shot, but I am bitterly disappointed that I bought a cheap puppy that I can't afford to write off for a good while yet. Meanwhile despite works well when it works, the laptop is a right royal pain to use when the dock is therefore unnecessary.

    What to tell boyfriend
Is a really nice laptop Tecra M10 and Portégé series and series Tecra laptop computers Bussines there.

But it seems that the DVI port on the Port Replicator Port Express is supported only on computers with ATI graphics card or nVidia.

    I found this Toshiba document:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB7B0201000CR01.htm

It s on Tecra A9 but maybe that it s a Tecra M10-related too

  • Tecra M11 - 17V - identify the serial port on the docking station

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra M11 - 17V, which I often use with the docking station that accompanies it.
There is a DB9 serial port at the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port.

    I use Windows 7.

In the device, COM9 Manager - COM22 are identified as Port BT (bluetooth). Com7 - COM8 are RIM Virtual Serial Port v2, COM17 is Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm Port and COM18 is USB-Serial CH340.

I thought that COM17 or COM18 were the most likely candidates, but have not been able to get to answer using one of them.

I connect a Psion 5 (Comms app) to him and have developed ports and the Psion 8bits, 19200 baud, no parity, 1 stop bit.

    Hello

    > There is a serial port DB9 on the back of the docking station, but I don't know what COM Port, it is

I think you have misunderstood something wrong
COM ports in Device Manager are virtual com ports
There is no link between a serial port and a virtual com port.

I have a question: what docking station you have exactly?

I had an express port replicator and this device required an additional serial port driver installation.

  • Tecra A10 - 1GV and Docking Stations: Dynadock vs Express Port Replicator II

    Hello Forum;

Official Toshiba site proposes to use the Docking Station Express Port Replicator II for laptop A10 1GV.

I need for my construction work 2 monitors.

My question: can I use with the Express Port Replicator II two additional monitors at the same time (there are 2 connectors (DVI and analog VGA/RGB). Is it possible to create two different images in this way?
Some have said, that after a connection with the DVI - D VGA connector is turned off.

    Someone at - he experiences?

On the other hand Toshiba offeres the Docking-station "Port replicator USB Dynadock U" -.
This docking station is only connected via USB with the laptop. According to the data sheet - it provides an analog and a digital monitor with different views at the same time, up to 1920 x 1200 pix., extra headphones and 6 x USB 2.0. more network connection

This official docking station works with all USB-connect computers, but in the compatibility list does not mention the Terca A10 and gives only a declaration of compatibility for the series Toshiba NB200 from Toshiba.

Someone out there experimenting with this docking station?

What would be the best way to work with two monitors + the computer screen?

Thanks for all the good advice.

    Michael

    Hello

As much as I know Express Port Replicator supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI only if the laptop itself also supports the simultaneous use of RGB & DVI.
So if the Tecra A10 1GV would support the use of RGB and DVI port simultaneously then Express Port Replicator should support too.

The Port USB Dynadock Port Replicator support VGA or DVI port. I didn't find the Dynadock, which was equipped with two ports together.
The Dynadock can be connected to all computers with USB 2.0 and it beautiful s expansion.

  • Tecra M9 - save the settings of display with docking station

    Hey there.

I have a user who has a Tecra M9 on a docking station.
There are 2 monitors connected to the docking station with VGA, the other with DVI. I use the Nvidia Control Panel and configure the screens and all is good in the world.
That is until the user off the laptop, some work at home, then puts the laptop in.

Therefore, only one monitor works, with the second out of action.
I can go back and reset the configuration, but the user does not want that to happen every day.

Any suggestions on how to get the laptop to save your setting as the case not docked or anchored?

    Thank you!

    > That is, until the user off the laptop, work at home, then puts the laptop in.
Do you know what the user did in the past?
To my knowledge there is not any special options that could save it. If you click on the button (apply) the changes are made and recorded.

  • Tecra M9-104 with docking station - DVI resolution

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a Tecra M9 - 104 running Windows XP. I also have the docking station to go with it. The great thing about the docking station, it's that it can out to two screens as the port on my M5 Replicator could not do.

I bought two identical external screens that have a native resolution of 1440 x 900. I went into the Nvidia display configuration and set up to display both (one is plugged in VGA and one DVI port). However, the display on the DVI monitor is wrong. After further investigation I woke up the menu of the monitor on the screen to see that the resolution actually be issued is 1280 X 1024, despite Nvidia screen saying 1440 x 900 has been the output. Whatever I do, I can't increase the resolution on DVI port.

The only thing I could find on Google and these support forums is that the maximum resolution on the DVI port on a port replicator is 1280 x 1024, but it was for the M1 and M2 series. This laptop is the last series and as such, I expected that the spec had been updated at this time.

    Someone at - it ideas?

Could be due to a limitation of the video driver on the laptop, or you can try to download a utility that requires to use a different resolution, its called Powerstrip (do not have a download link sorry).

Be careful with it though, you can mess up your video driver
