Tecra M2 scrambled screen

I have a Tecra M2 where the screen blurred suddenly. I tried to reinstall www.nvidia.com nvidia drivers and also toshiba drivers, but they may fail to install (or the laptop fails during install).

The screen is blurred even to the password of the BIOS at startup, so this leads me to believe that there is not drivers, even if by Remote Desktop connection I see a problem with the nvidia display driver.

The first time that this has happened, I removed the battery and all power for a few minutes, after which it was OK for another 24 hours or more. The second time it happens seems to be permanent.

I also removed the cards of memory (two, one by one) and the screen is scrambled again on the BIOS password.

Can someone tell me how to fix?

Thank you!

Hello

According to your description, I assume that your display is faulty.

Check to make sure with external display. If the image on the external display is OK, it's certainly not because of the graphics card, but the display.

This morning my Tecra M3 green screen LCD turned and then slowly disappeared in a cloudy cloud.
When I restarted I had a large screen with red and white rays online and weird graphics.

Windows XP logo comes up but is covered with white lines vertical white followed by many bosses of white stripes horizontal but then the OS is not kick in and I end up with a white screen.

Maybe 5 minutes later I hear the theme of Windows but still no office - nothing.
I don't see/hear the spinning of the HD.

I tried to boot mode safe, where I always get red and white patterns, but I can make the text to start safe mode.
I have recently re-installed XP of the original system DVD (version 2006 - I think) and everything seemed ok so far.

I have a load of work to go for HELP!
Is is ok to continue working normally in Safe Mode - it is possible to connect in this mode?

    Help!

Safe mode is option that offers access in the operating system preinstalled if there is a problem and that you cannot use it in normal mode. In safe mode OS will be loaded with a minimum configuration and without important driver. It is not the solution for you.

If I understand you, now you have the own operating system preinstalled. Try to start as usual and see what happens. I fear you have serious hardware problem and there is not a lot that you can do everything alone. Is the defective LCD screen or the graphics card does not work properly. What you can do is to test it with the external monitor. If these lines will be displayed again it is certainly because of the faulty graphics card.

In any case, contact service and see what they can do for you.

  • Presario V5002ea random reboot and scrambled screen

    Hello

I ahd my Presario V5002ea for about 4 years with no problems at all. I started it this morning and everything was fine until it restarts all of a sudden. When the computer reboots, it seemed fine until the scrambled screen (vertical lines in a blue-gray) and finally the system rebooted again. This seems to be a hardware fault possible for me that it happens randomly.

I can't start in safe mode without reboot or run any form of diagnosis. Any ideas as to what the problem may be and it will be fixable or is it time for a new laptop?

Well, it seems that the video chip on the motherboard has gone bad. If you are handy with a screwdriver, it's too cheap to get a replacement motherboard (maybe $100) but it is not something to try as your first foray in laptop repair. Have a shop do the replacement would cost about $200-300, which approximates the cost of a new phone.  Try an external monitor, but if it's rebooting it is not likely to be just the screen of the control panel and a replacement screen Panel is at roughly the same cost for a replacement motherboard, anyway ($100 for DIY) and about $175-200 for a workshop, parts and labor. Bad memory can also cause the symptoms you describe, then you can also try the new memory or simply remove each module in turn and try each module in each location. 4 years is a pretty good life for a laptop, believe it or not. Newer models are so fast and cool you can't miss anyway.

  • iPhone 4 has a scrambled screen. Can I enter remote access code?

I gave my child my iPhone 4 when I upgraded. He had the newest iOS available for the 4, which I think was 7.1.2 or something close. before I gave it to her, I restored to factory settings and deleted all the files. She created a new password and it used for music and photos. She doesn't have it synced to a device or stored in iCloud. It worked perfectly when I gave it to her. A few days earlier, she dropped and now the screen is scrambled and bring up the screen to enter the access code. I plugged it to my MacBook to see if I could get behind the scramble but I just got a message that the photos cannot be downloaded without unlocking the device.

    - SO my question is, is it possible to enter this access code other than to type in the phone itself? Some behind the scenes where I can enter the code and go to the photos and music living in the unit? This phone has a removable SIM card.

Grateful for any help you can give me.

    No, it isn't.

I hope that "photos and music living in the unit" were backed up when the iPhone was iTunes or iCloud.  If not, the only hope would be to take the iPhone to an Apple Store or Service Center authorized Apple and determine if it is fixable (very unlikely, in my opinion).  If it's fixable, great.  If this is not the case, the material on the iPhone is lost.  (Note bought from iTunes music can be re-downloaded iTunes on a computer or an iOS device different.)

For later use, the iPhone should never be the main housing for music not bought in iTunes.  Also, of course, photos taken on an iPhone that are worth saving must be saved.

  • Tecra M2 - green screen of vertical lines, help needed!

Hi all, looking for some advice with an old Tecra M2, I get this:

Any ideas on the flaw before I get out the screwdriver?

That looks terrible, I have a headache looking at this screen :)
Anyway have you checked if the same question would be visible on the external monitor?
    Check it!

I mean that it would get more details about the failure.
If the question seems too much on the external display, a graphics card might be faulty.
If the external monitor is fine, the problem is only to s for laptop screen.

  • Tecra A2 - striped screen of the chassis

I have been using a Tecra A2 for about 6 months again and one of the first things that I noticed that the screen comes into contact with the body and created a line of 2 inches over the entire surface of the screen.

This is usually not serious, but a few times I've worked and it's a real pain.

This should be covered by the guarantee of the right?

  • Tecra M3: black screen on startup, the vertical lines on the external monitor

    Hi all

I searched a lot on the Internet for a solution to this specific problem, I have, but did not find a thread
with exactly the same problem. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 with Windows XP SP 3. Two weeks ago, I encountered problems with the commissioning. After a couple of times to restart it would work. Then it became worse... When I try to run I see no splash... the screen remains black. If I press the power button, I hear the fan and CD player but no screen. It is totally black. I know its working because I can go (blindly) in the installation program. Press end, and then press Y and enter. The computer will restart but still no screen.

I plugged it to an external monitor. Pressing Fn and F5 allows switching. The external monitor shows different
vertical lines in multiple colors. They change if I go to settings or you try to start windows.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

I have fear of solution can be given by the service only.
In my view, this question must be tested properly.

I can't say for sure, but to me that sounds like a technical question. Without testing you will know for sure what is the problem.
Here on the forum we can only speculate why this happen.

As you can see on notebooka? s LCD problem. On external it doesnâ? t properly work as well. It may be a faulty graphics card.
Try to contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service and speak with the technician.

  • Re: Tecra M9 and screen compatibility

    Hello

I was wonderuing if anyone knew if a M10 screen is compatible with a model M9 that I have been informed that the M9 screen became EOL and cannot be imposed.

    Thank you
    Peter

    Hey,.

I think that this question can't be answered here because it s only a user to user forum. In this case, you will need to ask a service provider authorized or let's say a laptop technician. They should be able to tell if the screen fits.

By the way: year ASP can order all the original parts of Toshiba and a display for Tecra M9 I also think. Just ask for this and they will try to help you.
On the Toshiba site, you can search for an ASP.

  • Tecra S1: Empty screen and beep error Code appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba tecra s1 and it no longer works, and I don't know why.

When I start the laptop there is nothing wrong, but after 3 minutes or if the screen is not responding. Then I tried to reboot, it gives a black screen and beeps. The beeps are:
short, short, long, break, short, short, short.

And what he repeates himself. When I wait several days it will start again and then after 3 minutes it will "crash" again.

What is the problem with my laptop? Why it works, and after 3 minutes no longer works?

    Thanks in advance.

    Best regards!

    Hello

The laptop starts fine in the Windows operating system?

Strange beep error code usually appears because there is a hardware problem on the S1 and the POST (power on self-test) cannot be passed correctly.
If the computer falls down the POST, the computer then returns a beep code indicating what is causing the computer not not to pass on the MESSAGE.

The problem is that all the different systems of BIOS support meanings of different code.
As far as I know, Toshiba Tecra S1 uses Toshiba BIOS and only the ASP can read this code and know what it means. I recommend to contact the ASP in your country for assistance!

PS: Check out this interesting page about additional information on computer POST / beep codes

Several of my 8100 s Tecra have a problem with the screen going blank. They can be good for centuries, or 3 / 4 times in a minute, it can happen. • Tecra S1 - black screen even on external monitor

    Hello

I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, but here goes: I have a tecra s1 who was working fine then one day. I turned it on all I get a black screen. I suspect that it's the hard drive but not 100%.

I tried to connect to an external monitor as the same just a black screen. My question is this laptop does not start if the hard drive is bad I think it would be at least got to the bios screen, but I get nothing but a black screen.

any help would be appreciated thanks.

    Hi cracypcguy,

For me, this looks like a hardware malfunction if on an external monitor, you can see a white screen also. In addition, I doubt it has something to do with the HARD drive. In this case you should see the screen of the BIOS at least.

Anyway, in your case, I'll ask a maintainer approved assistance. Technicians can check your laptop parts and the exchange of defective material.

    I hope I could help you! :)

  • My Tecra A9 TFT screen is bluish

    Hello

I find my Tecra A9 a little bluish TFT screen... Most of the colors are a shade of ILO, including the reds.

I wonder if this is a feature of the poster of the Tecra A9 or there is a problem with mine... I read some reviews, but none is talking.

    Thank you

    Pedro Duarte

Me be thick or not, but when you say TFT you hear an external TFT monitor or the current screen on the laptop. If the screen on the lapto is and he just started to happen, then I think it's maybe a hardware problem, best way to try is to connect an external monitor and see what you get on this. Press FN + F5 to change the display device by the way. The only other thing I can think is some kind of framework in display properties, to verify this, right-click on your desktop and then click Properties. I check here, for anything that can suggest a kind of theme blue at all.

    I hope this helps.
