Tecra M4: upgrade memory PC2-4300 or Pc2-4200?

The Tecra M4 can take the Pc2-4300 and 4200 to 533 Mhz

So is there a difference of speed between the two types. I just want to get the fastest memory for my machine, but the 4300 is almost twice the price of 4200. I don't know what to do.

Thank you

Hello

I found in the official document that Tecra M4 supports these modules:
DDR2 400/533 256 MB (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
512 MB DDR2-400/533 (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
1 GB OF DDR2 400/533 (PA3411U-1M1G)

Another description:

256 MB of memory DDR2 PC2-4300 (533 MHz) (PA3389U - 1 M 25)
512 MB PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) (PA3412U - 1 M 51)
1024 MB (1 GB) DDR2 PC2-4300 (533 MHz) (PA3411U-1M1G)

I put t know why but if I searched the web for this part number: PA3411U-1M1G
I found a PC2-4200 and PC2-4300 under a same module, strange.
Please compare these two sites:
http://shop.EUROLAB.at/product_info.php?products_id=1226129
http://www.technoworld.com/productdisplay.asp?ProductID=22800

In addition if you want to buy a good memory, I suppose to buy a Toshiba or a module of Kingston because there are much faster and have a better performance as a module of memory name No.

Good bye

  • Is - 2 GB module or a work of memory PC2-5300 / 667 mhz for Latitude D610?

Shows spec Dell Latitude D610 will have 1 GB of memory by Bank, total, up to 2 GB and also uses memory PC2-4200 / 533 mhz.

What I was wondering if this can be exceeded and D610 would always be OK:

    • If the memory stick 2 GB would work by Bank, up to 4GB total, assuming that the use of memory PC2-4200.
    • Or, if memory PC2-5300 / 667 mhz would work, assuming that using memory of 1 GB.

I have above that the technical running in my office and usually faster memory memory can be used, just that it runs at a slower speed.

Has anyone put in memory in D610 which is faster or more dense than does the spec? Believe it or not, part of the problem is that modern memory is denser and faster, and it is cheaper just get a faster or more dense memory.

  • Satellite L20-101: Question about memory PC2-4300 and PC2-4200 of mixture

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite L20-101. He took 512 MB RAM (PC2-4300). Today, I added another module of RAM but this new module is PC2-4200. Is there something wrong with that? The two modules are DDR2 and 533 MHz and 512 MB.

    Hi Pawel,

In principle, there is no problem with the mixture of slightly different types of RAM modules, but normally the total RAM will run at the speed of the slowest module. When your notebook detects the right amount of RAM from two sticks then it don't will don't... no problem.

  • Upgrade memory for a Dell 4700 [Amin Note: Service Tag published by policy TOU] Compatible PC2-3200 memory options

    Hello.

I hope I am posting this in the correct place. I have an old Dell 4700 [Amin Note: Service Tag published by policy TOU] and I recently started to restore for occasional use. It has Windows 7 Ultimate on it and the original 256 MB 1Rx16 pair sticks of memory PC2-3200U-333-10-C1 with that he came. I turn to most compatible memory available for this model. Someone (with the final tone in their voices) can explain what memory to buy and complete all 4 locations with? This always seems to spawn a debate on how fast the PC and which can and cannot be run in this machine.

This will be used primarily by my girlfriend and 2 teens to surf on the internet and retro games like Fallout 1 and 2, Dungeon Keeper II and Master Of Orion 2. Nothing really graphic intensive. It is the treatment of films as a media server, the ability to move the files in a big number all by managing downloads and sending files and folders tablets and phones while posting to social networks that will be bogged down there. So I need the higher memory and the fastest possible for this old dinosaur. Thanks in advance for any help! ~ Jim

Go HERE to find DDR2 memory that is guaranteed to be compatible with your system.

RAM maximum supported by the Dimension 4700 is 4 GB memory DDR2 [4 x 1 GB modules].

Note: Although you can install 4 GB of memory in the Dimension 4700, unless you have a 64 bit system, your system will address only 3 GB + - memory.

    Hello

I want to upgrade memory to my Thinkpad SL500 model 2746CTO.

You want to buy some sticks of 2 X 2 GB @ only $22.00 each.

    G.Skill is faster @ CL 4 (hours: 4-4-4-12)

Please comment if this G.Skill memory is too fast for this laptop, for example. "not compatible".

rather than ask for lenovo or crucial, why not ask of intel chips that manufacturers the inputs/outputs of the memory controller.

    http://www.Intel.com/design/chipsets/embedded/prodbrf/319505.PDF

It clearly says DDR2 667/800.  Don't be confused that she also mentioned ddr3 support, lenovo only installed on your motherboard ddr2 Sockets, but the GM45 chip can support both.

  • Upgrade memory Tecra A7

I notice any performance gain (in WinXP Pro) if I put the sticks of DDR2-667 memory instead of DDR2-533 modules standard in my Tecra A7-202? I've already upgraded memory in my notebook from 512 MB to 1 GB (I added the second module of 512 MB - DDR2-533), but now I am considering upgrading to 2x1GB, possibly in DDR2-667.

    Hello

Are you sure that the DDR2-667 memory modules are compatible?
To my knowledge the Tecra A7 supports only DDR2-533 modules.
    These are 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-4200, CL = 4, NON - ECC, DDR2-533 modules

But to tell the truth I put t think you will feel a performance increase with the help of the DDR2-667 modules.

  • Satellite A100-014 can't module of RAM PC2-4200 or PC2-4300

    Hello guys and girls,

I have two modules of RAM memory installed on my toshiba a100-014. They are the two PC2-4200. However, CPU - Z which is a small software that helps out to discover what are the specifications of the hardware on your computer, says I have two PC2-4300. Isn't it funny?

Why you think that CPU - Z does not recognize the RAM modules I have installed? Moreover, the machine works perfectly!

    Hello

This software is not for me. I use Everest professional. It s also a hardware diagnostic application.
But you the modules of RAM. Satellite A100-014 has been delivered with a module of 1 GB DDR2-533 (PA3411U-2M1G) and it s definitely a PC2-4300

The mother memory speeds such as lists support card: PC2 (4200, 5300, or 6400).

    I am using Corsair 4 GB (2x2gb) DDR2 800 SDRAM (PC26400) with the model # [VS4GBKIT800D2 G].

    * I would remove the existing 2 DIMM and replacing the 4 GB above 2 DIMM.

    DVD player

I also want to replace the DVD-W (SATA) drive and am wondering if there is any consideration in the choice of a

replacement drive SATA DVD - W Office?  Are the discs DVD-W remedies (e.g. NewEgg) a standard size? etc.

    HARD DRIVE

In addition, a third question: when you replace a SATA 3 GB HDD is the size of the cache (8 MB 16 MB vs) a problem?  Also, would a "Kit".

be a better buy from an OEM?

    Thanks x 3

The model number you gave is not listed with HP.

    (1) upgrade memory is not a problem.

    (2) the Office DVD (and CD) readers are all 5.25 "drives.

    (3) think you that your hard disk is the disk SATA 3 GB/s?   New disks STAT / 3 GB/s are usually 32 MB of cache. A naked player is all you need for a replacement. The cache is a function of early reading and 32 is better than 16.

  • Tecra A3 - 108 memory upgrade - which speed?

    Hello

I bought my Tecra A3 - 108 3 years and everything works fine. But 2 GB RAM Windows Vista with certainty is not enough. I want to upgrade the/3 GB with 1 to 2 GB and 1 module of 1 GB.

In-service tries with Apacer memory running at 800 MHz, but Tecra has not identified 3 GB, just 2 GB :(

Service technician said that 800 MHz is too fast for this model.

My question is: what memory should I buy to upgrade my Toshiba? I mean, what is the maximum speed on the Tecra can work? 667 MHz?

    Thanks in advance.

    > Service trying with Apacer memory running at 800 MHz, but Tecra has not identified just 2 GB 3 GB,
    > Service Technician said that 800 MHz is too fast for this model.

Above all the RAM speed has nothing to do with the upgrade memory max.
The notebook chipset is not able to manage the 3 GB of RAM, and so the 3 GB of RAM are not recognized! It s any speed RAM is.

I guess that the laptop uses an Intel 915 GM or similar and this chipset chipset manages max 2 GB of RAM.

  • Tecra M3 and memory upgrade

I have a Tecra M3 (PTM30U - 6017 0c) and I upgrade to 2 GB of memory, but one of the slots will not read... only reads 512 stick... I was wondering if there is a fix for this.
The laptop says it can do 2 GB. Do I need to Flash the BIOS or y at - it another way to get it to pick it up?

    Thanks Lauri

    Hello lauri

At first, I must say that you are right about upgrade memory. Your laptop can handle with 2 GB of RAM.
Your description is a bit confusing for me. If you have upgraded to 2 GB, you have probably used 2 x 1 GB RAM.
So, I don't understand what you mean with * only reads 512 MB stick. *

Do you use compatible Rams? Can you test the two slots and confirm that they are not defective?

  • Upgrade memory for Tecra A5

Hello, if anyone can help, I would be very grateful.

I have a Tecra A5 that I bought a few years ago and recently it has become quite slow. On the suggestion of a colleague, I rebooted the machine, remove a lot of unused programs and it seems to have improved.

However, I would like to upgrade the RAM. Currently, the task manager tells me I have 1 GB of available, and I read that the Tecra A5 can handle 2 GB, which seems likely to boost performance.

However, looking at the manual and at the bottom of the laptop, it only seems to be a slot to expand memory. Looking at websites selling RAM upgrades, there only seems to be 128, 256, 512 and 1024 MB memory upgrades.

Here's the question. Should I buy two memory upgrades 1 GB (and if so, where did I put the other?)

I have a feeling that when I bought the laptop, the seller has provided two upgrades memory of 512 MB.

Thanks for any advice on this.

You are right. Your Tecra can be upgraded up to 2 GB. Compatible RAM module has PA3313U-2M1G part number. Are you a location is available downstairs?
This old Tecra is unknown to me, but what I do know, is that all laptops with a RAM slot at the bottom have an another slot memory under the keyboard.

If you want to have full access to this slot machine, you must remove the keyboard.

    Hello

On most laptops the slot of memory are placed at the bottom of the unit, but it seems that the Tecra M7 slots are placed under the keyboard.

may I ask why you are suggesting that the user manual provides no information about the upgrade memory?
I downloaded the manual to the user on the Toshiba site and found a statement long and detailed how to upgrade and insert the modules!

    Hello
