Tecra M5 starts LAN

Hello

I use a CD of start-up/ghost, which essentially tells the pc how get to ghost through the network so that I can save pictures of office / laptop to our server and vice versa. This used to work very well for all models, but then on the M5 Motorway, I got an error message indicating that he did not see the driver for the CARD.

Now I found the right driver... How do I get this on the CD moose that I used. I realize that this is a stupid question, but I am at my wits end abd about to throw the laptop out the window (to the company laptop).

Thanks a lot me HELP please BEFORE I LOSE ALL to LIVE

Hello

If you want to integrate the existing driver on the Windows operating system CD, so I advise to use the application called nLite
This program allows you to create own Windows installation CD and you can integrate packs and hofixes, pilot, etc.

In addition, you should know that, on the Tecra M5, operating system with Service Pack 2 has been pre-installed. Therefore, you must also install the operating system that contains a SP2.

    Hello Antonio

It's a very strange question, and I've never heard of this. Anyway, the fact is that you have the most recent driver LAN. I put t know your personal settings, but maybe it's because of some other software you use in your business or whatever.

To be sure if there is a serious problem, it will be interesting to know if the same thing happens with the factory settings. If there is any chance trying to get second HDD and preinstall the unit with the recovery image. If the problem persists perhaps is the card itself is defective. In this case just ASP may do other tests to find out what evil is.

Sorry, but I don t has a different idea.

  • Tecra R850 starts when you open the lid

    Hello

    I recently bought a 2nd hand Toshiba Tecra R850.

Is it normal for the laptop start loading Windows, open the lid?

I always perform a clean shutdown when I won't be using the laptop - and I always waited to push the button to start.

So is it normal for the laptop to start when I open the lid? Is there a substitution?

    Thank you
    Brian

I can answer myself. I went to the BIOS and there is an option for the laptop to start automatically on opening the lid. I put this to disabled.

  • Tecra A8-103 LAN driver problem

    Hello
I own a laptop Tecra A8-103 (short model PTA83E number) and I simply formatted and put Windows XP so I'm trying to install all the drivers that I found this site on my computer. The problem is that in driver LAN I can not find any executable program (i.e. setup.exe) or anything that could be considered as a request for the installation of this driver.

The zip file that contains this driver is lan - 20080303122015.zip and the version is 9.2.24.

Could someone give me some advice?

You n t need all .exe files to reinstall the driver of LAN.
You can install it from the Device Manager.

First unpack the LAN driver package.
Go to Device Manager. Expand the menu network cards.
Choose the Lan (unknown device?) card and reinstall the driver pointing to the Palace where the Lan driver package has been unpacked.

  • Tecra M5 starts does not after suspected virus attack

    Hi all
I don't know that it is an easy question for talent here. I'm not good with laptops, so if you could answer in simple terms that would be great.

I have an old Tecra M5 I use only for I-tunes and occasional browsing.

I used the laptop when the software anti-virus (avast) began flashing a lot of threats - questions. The lack of battery laptop that the software has been identify them and now I can not re - turn on the laptop. When I turn on the usual "BOLD" red "TOSHIBA" comes on the screen then the screen turns off completely. The fan is running and an array of lights on the fron but nothing happening at all - nothing - nada - zilch!
Im sure this is something easy for you guys but I am not much less so that need help.

Thank you very much in advance
    Mike

    Hi Mike,.

I doubt it has something to do with a Virus or a virus itself it sounds more like a malfunction of equipment

You should try to remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait 1 or 2 hours, then reconnect the battery and the AC adapter. Now, try to start the laptop.

    I hope it works! :)

Very nice thanks for sharing this with us!

  • Tecra S10 starts in 8-10 min

I have a new Tecra S10 and a problem with a very long departure.

When I turn it on, after the "Microsoft Corporation" with the green bar (it takes about 40 seconds) the black screen comes there for appr. 4 6 min. During these long minutes approx. of the HARD disk LED flashes. once per second. Finally so I can see "wait" and the rest of the starting procedure. After you turn off when I start again in a few minutes (not more than about 10) the computer starts very fast (I think - normally) means in1, 5 min. If the break is longer the departure time is long yet.

Does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

I guess you have started your laptop for the first time and OS was not configured completely and ready for use.
After that several reboots of the preinstalled OS should be ready to use.

Beware also of Microsoft updates. By default it is set to automatic and when you're laptop computer online will starts to download all this and slow down performance and next reboot may take a lot of time again.

In my opinion nothing is wrong there.

  • Tecra S5 starts independently in undefined mode

    Hello

When I switch my S5 in windows mode 'sleep', she begins sometimes after a while independently in a mode not set.
This means that the power light is green and the fan works like hell.
I can only stop it by pressing the power button long.

Today, it happened while he was in the laptop Briefcase - it was pretty hot when I discovered this.

What can I do? Can it be fixed by an update of the firmware/bios?

    Kind regards
    Holger

Hmm, you hear the laptop to wake up from stand-by automatically?
I think that you should first check your scheduled tasks.
Sometimes the laptop can wake up if the tasks scheduled as anti update antivirus, windows update, etc. are configured.
Moreover I is advisable to disable the options in the BIOS to wake up.

I m not sure this quote which awakens options BIOS Tecra S5 contains but Wake up on LAN must exist and must be disabled.

Of course, you must also make sure that your laptop uses the latest version of the BIOS.

  • Tecra 9100 - W-LAN-Mini-PCI-card upgrade

    Hello everyone,

    I ve got a with the W-LAN-onboard Tecra 9100 working doesn´t.
    Instead of repairing the old W - Lan Mini-PCI-card I want to move to a new standard (802. 11 b / g with 108 Mbit/s max) Mini-PCI card.

I prefer the mini Notebook-WLAN-Gigabyte GN-WIAG02 PCI adapter.

Is it possible to chance the card built into the Gigabyte card?

    Hello

It s nice that you want to upgrade your wireless mini-pci network card. But I suggest you rather a card with an Atheros chipset. The best choice is perhaps a card with a Chipset of Atheros 5005GS since I upgraded my Tecra 9100 with this card and it works like charm. (and not so expensive as other s cards)

To swap the card, you must remove the plastic cover of the keyboard and unscrew the two screws in order to release the keyboard.
After removing the keyboard, you will find an aluminum side cover left which is set with a special torx screws. The best would be to get these torx screwdriver to loosen this bolt and remove the cover.
After removal, you will see the map with the cables that lead to the antenna. (One white and one black) Be very CAREFUL when remove the Connector cables, because if damage you one of the cable connectors there is no return since the cables are cables "Mini-coax" and cannot be "connected."

I warn you, just do it if you're really sure and if you know what you're doing, because I won't take any responsibility if damage you something on your machine. Otherwise, I wish good luck and would appreciate some comments on your success.

    See you soon

  • Tecra M2 starts to download the updates of windows every time

    Dear Sir.

I have a strange problem: every time I open my Tecra M2 and my Wifi to connect to the internet window starts to download updates, very unusual.

Normally, it is now and then.
Someone at - it a solution or suggestion?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

Why strange? This is nothing unusual. Microsoft edits and publishes updates to the OS.
If these updates are available, the operating system downloads and installs patches automatically.

Of course, you can disable these updates, but for me I have the dose makes no sense to disable these options.
    Do you use antivirus applications?

I hope so well, the antivirus application runs in the background and updates the index of virus files.
It is a simple process and you would know that it s always advisable to run the updates!

  • Tecra M2 - start become too slow

    Hello

I use Tecra M2 and it is 2 years old.
Now I am facing problem on startup. When I turn on my laptop it takes a long time to close the logon screen. A few times I think it's dead.

    (1) power after it takes 2-3 minutes to complete the process of white band (earlier, it was less than a min)

    (2) then the screen turns white for another 2-3 minutes (previously, it is about 1 min) (once it took more than 5 minutes, I have to the new power of the laptop and restartit

    (3) log on screen just now. After the seizure of the password, it takes 5 + minutes to complete the entire process (including the connection to the local wireless network, antivirus for the Internet)

    (4) for a few weeks I am getting error zeroconfig but wireless is Ok.

Can some experts if you please advise me what I should do to fix this problem. I am not a Curmudgeon but can work with instructions.

    Thanks & Regds
    Srini

Two years is a long time. Have you done a clear installation of your operating system and the programs right now?
If this isn't the case, then, it is normal that startup can become longer because most programs installed or drivers or tools remains.

Have you recently installed some programs or something like that? Sometimes it can be caused by tool or utilities, that is starting so long.
How is your speed and overall performance during the loading of Windows?

As a thing, I want to say in advance is that you should make a new a brand new installation of your system.
First save all your important data to an external HARD drive or you simple can make backup of these files records.

  • Tecra M2 starts only in safe mode

I recently installed Norton products in my laptop Tecra M2, who met the necessary attention problems.

However, when a Norton technician has resolved the problem, the laptop freezes and since my laptop was implemented in safe mode.
Tried several options to return to the normal mode it but fail, every time then restart, it changes again in safe mode and I am not able to access my USB wireless internet and many programs that I use frequently.

Help please! I don't want to reformat the entire computer unless it's the last resort!

    Hello!

You can remove the Norton software in safe mode? Try this!
To be honest I n t have good experience with Norton.

In the worst case, you must reinstall the operating system as said Garrett. It is the only way to recover a system that works.
