Tecra M7 - beginning of fingerprints HDD link

So, I removed the HDD to test Win 8.
After that the replacement of the HARD disk starts the fingerprint.
The hard drive like a password. I think this is more!

The possibility that the footprint of the binding to the output of the drive continues.
Who can help me?

Hi mate

Your post is confusing.
In summary: you replaced the HARD drive and installed Win 8.
Right?

While booting, the laptop request now a password I guess the BIOS password is correct?
Or password do you mean exactly? Password for fingerprints?

  • Tecra M3 and Slim SelectBay HDD adaptor

    Hi all

I want to obtain a secondary hard drive for my Tecra M3. I don't use my optical drive much, so I thought I was doing the Slim SelectBay Hard Drive Adapter (PA3134U-1ETC). My question is this, will work any EIDE 2.5 "internal HD with this?

I thought of doing one of them for example:

    Hello

As much as I know that the slim select bay adapter uses an IDE interface. In this case, you must use compatible hard disks IDE.
But I m not 100% sure of the size of the HARD drive.

  • Tecra M9 - reader of fingerprints and BIOS password

    Aloha
I want to disable the fingerprint reader and bios password at startup of the computer.
I already uninstalled upek protector suite ql 5.4.0.2934, but at the start, I'm still prompted to slide my finger.
I've seen and followed the instructions in "toshiba passes: definition and suppression (BIOS passwords, supervisor and Windows)", but I still have to enter my password to start the computer.
    What should I do?
    Mahalo

In the field "Enter new password" press only in order to remove the old drive HARD password... Repeat this in the field "confirmation"...
Then he must change the password for HARD drive status to "unregistered".
After that, save the BIOS changes and exit the BIOS.

  • Tecra M5 requires more EasyGuard HDD password

    Hi all

I was a complete key and changed some BIOS settings, specific WOL on my laptop. Now, when I try to start I get is more asked for the password (the blue screen with * etc.) but rather a message saying "error loading operating system".

I've tried everything I can think of, but it seems that EasyGuard a death/disabled the startup HARD disk or has infact wiped.

I just tried booting from the XP CD to see if the partitions are intact - I can see two with [Unknown] where it should say NTFS... clearly something to do with the encryption of disk HARD/safety...

Help, please! A quick response would be fantastic!

Did you change or remove the password of HDD in BIOS?

Maybe try to reset the BIOS defaults.

  • Tecra Z50 - utility of fingerprints can not connect on the sensor

Although the latest version of the driver for validity sensor is installed the fingerprint utility cannot connect to the sensor.

    System: Win 8.1 64-bit

You should put a little more information on your machine.
Are you using the version Win8.1 as recovery image original Toshiba?
I guess that if you use the laptop with the factory settings, everything should be OK.
Have you noticed this problem with the original driver?

  • Tecra A7 fingerprint sensor support

    Hello!

A skier of Tecra A7 have a fingerprint sensor and some not. How will I know if my A7 has a sensor? There is a quarter on the right side of the touchpad, but it has the same color as the case of notbook.

    Hello

    Where did you come from?
There are many models Tecra A7 but each model has been designed for a country or a region

You can visit the Toshiba home page and check the area of product-> notebooks-> Tecra

There you should find different units of Tecra A7 and the features supported.
But as far as I know, that Tecra A7 with number PTA71C should support the fingerprint reader.

By the way every mobile merchant who sells the Tecra A7 should provide or offers the right information on the details of the laptop

  • Tecra A11 - 11L - fingerprint sensor does not work

    Hello
I had a problem with my Tecra laptop. The fingerprint sensor does not work since yesterday. It also disappears from the hardware Manager. I tried to reinstall the utility, but the setup.exe will not run successfully. When I try to install the utility directly from the amd64 Directory installation will be successful, but the software is unable to connect to the fingerprint sensor. I also tried to install the original Windows image, but the sensor does not work.

    You have any ideas?

    Berst cordially
    Thunder1988

You can try a BIOS update and set the default BIOS. If it still does not appear in Device Manager, the player is maybe defective or there is a connection problem. I'm guessing that the laptop is still under warranty, you may have to send the laptop to a Toshiba repair center.

  • Tecra A9 - fingerprint sensor does not work

My Tecra A9 is less than 2 weeks old. The first day, the fingerprint sensor worked for a few hours. I registered three fingerprints. Since then when I drag my finger, 99% of the time it does not recognize or gives a message 'too short', although I followed the steps in the tutorial.

There is a window where you can test the fingerprint sensor trying to drag prints. I asked the other two persons, of different ages and gender, to try it, but very rarely is he not successfully registered printing.
My call to the support wasn't very helpful because I was threatened with charges of £35 if they find nothing wrong with the hardware. As a normal user, is not what it says on the Tin.

Has anyone had the same problem and managed to resolve it. If so, how? If not, are there other people in the same situation?

    Hello Assa

It's very strange. I didn't notice any problem on my Tecra. Please start Fingerprint Control Center and check the first option that it fingerprints. Under registration or change fingerprints, you will find option run interactive tutorial with exact explanation how to use the fingerprint sensor and your fingers correctly.

To be honest, I do not think you have a hardware or software problem, but you must be careful how you drag your finger.

  • After mainboard replace my HARD drive with password works on TECRA S11?

I hope that my local service center will replace my TECRA mainboard (later I'll tell why). Will my drive HARD with the password protection work and my files accessible encrypted fingerprints after a motherboard CPU replace?

Windows 7 Pro will start in after this 'upgrade' hand / replace?
(I have read the thread similar Tecra S5 topic, pls do not link which closed thread)

    Hello

Usually, the HARD drive password should work after the replacement of the motherboard.
The fact is that the HARD drive password is stored in a special area of the HARD drive and should not be an issue this motherboard has been replaced.

I found this info in the knowledge base of Toshiba:
+ Password HDD TOSHIBA summary +.

  • Tecra R940 with Windows 7 SSD boot failure

My company bought laptop computers Tecra R940 and replace the HDD with Kingston SSDNow v + 200 V + 120 GB SSD drives. On a test after installing the SSD device, the laptop was rebuilt with our brand image (Windows 7 x 64) that has successfully completed.

Update post however a number of issues is apparent:

1 occasionally during a restart, the laptop will display and then hang at 'starting windows' screen for the Windows logo animation appear and with the light of the hard drive continuously. After a period of time that a Windows recovery is attempted and, possibly, a reported error:

    Status: 0xc00000e9
Info: An unexpected i/o error has occurred

This problem will not occur at every startup, but once every 2 or 3.

    2. the following error message is logged in the Windows system log

    Source: ATAPI
    Event ID: 11
Description: The driver detected an error in the controller on \Device\Ide\IdePort0

I have tried the following to resolve the problem:

    1. update the R940 BIOS to the latest available (6.40).
    2. has confirmed that the BIOS SATA Controller is set to AHCI.
    3. not confirmed there are no available SSD drive firmware update.
    4. install the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver of Toshiba (11.0.0.1032).
5 tried different SSD. Same errors identified, so not a faulty SSD.
6 tried the SSD in a Toshiba Portege R930. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
7 reinstall the original HARD disk. In this case the mistakes above are not apparent.
8A confirmed a 2nd unit (with installed SSD) logs the same event ID 11.

My tests left me at a point where I think that there is something bad at the end of R940 with a hardware or software that does not like the SSD.

If someone has solved a similar problem or have thoughts on fixing this?

    Thank you in advance.

Specific installation of corporate images are always full of risks, and quite often, there are different problems. As much as I know in the past Toshiba has created special images of recovery for some companies who ordered a specific number of booklets for employees.

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what the problem is here, but I would like to know if you have tried to install own OS Win7 using the original disk of Microsoft.

I mean that it must be possible to install Win7 clean on the new laptop models. I tested it on my U940 satellite and it works well. I had some trouble with Toshiba specific stuff (tools and utilities), but it was not so important and work with Win7 was possible in any case.

  • Tecra M11 and asset Tag

    Hello

I'm looking for how to set asset tag information int smbios for a PC toshiba laptop tecra M11?
I found this LINK post: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=40167] but the assettag tool. Exe do not take the tag after the reboot.
    Any idea please?

I put t know if you have the European portable model but here in Europe this tool is not available for customers and such things must be performed by authorized service provider.

If you want you can try to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help.

As you can see in other thread user last posted the link to the Toshiba U.S. support page.

  • Problems trying to use Ghost solution Suite 2.0 on Tecra M9

We have recently bought a few M9s Tecras and now have a problem trying to use Ghost solution suite 2.0.

It is necessary to install custom software every two weeks and have always used ghost solution suite 2.0 to recreate the image at a time, all our machines now the ghost starts and crashes before the session starts and then the fan goes mental...

There are other posts that mention the use of switches in the cmd prompt, it works but only 1 machine at a time, which is of no use to us.

How to use Ghost and image multiple machines at the same time?

    Arthur

    Hello

It seems that you have some problems with this software, it freezes and I doubt it could be a problem with the laptop
Why you n t come into contact with the solution of Ghost support Suite 2.0 in order to discover the question?
In my opinion, this should be the first step to get some details why this software freezes...

PS: since the Tecra M9 supports a SATA HDD controller you will need to include the SATA drivers to install and Windows operating system on this device, I guess that the package of the image that you created for several M9 contains the SATA driver files needed too. Check it!

  • Memory Maximum Tecra 8000

It's one of these issues "can I extend my old laptop a little further.

I have a Tecra 8000. He has 256 MB of memory in a single module of memory in one of the two memory slots. There is a free slot.

Can I put another (probably 256 MB) memory module in the other slot to give me a total of 512 MB?

I have a downloaded product specification that says that 256 MB is the maximum, but it is dated April 2000 and it is unclear if this is a fundamental limitation product or just the maximum that Toshiba would supply in 2000. I also met some PC where these kinds of limitations have been increased by subsequent versions of BIOS.

The laptop has the current BIOS (Version 9.3) installed.

    Hello

Well, as far as I know this device supports max 256 MB SDRAM (2x128MB).
Moreover, I found these compatible modules.
    PA2060U 32 MB
    PA2061U 64 MB
    PA2062U 128 MB

To my knowledge it of not possible to put another module into the slots, because it is a specification of the motherboard.
By hand, I found a cool site with Tecra 8000 pieces. Visit this link:
